Meek Mill Questions Why Rick Ross Bought Another Property Of His

Rick Ross is well-known for his massive money moves, although that has Meek Mill asking some questions. Moreover, Rozay just bought another property from Meek, this time being his $4.2 million Atlanta mansion that he bought a couple of weeks ago. However, it was only on Wednesday (April 19) that the Philly MC took to Twitter to express some curiosity as to what the Maybach Music mogul is doing with all that land, as he apparently bought even more. “Ross bought another crib off me for a ‘m’ yesterday!” he wrote on the social media platform. “I had to ask him tf you doing with all this property.”

What’s more is that we apparently have a vague answer to that question by way of Rick Ross’ realtor. In fact, apparently he bought Meek Mill’s mansion in ATL in cash. Of course, frequent followers of the “Hustlin’” MC know that he already owns an expansive estate in Georgia titled “The Promise Land.” “I’ve been working to make an impact in the luxury market and this did just that,” realtor Alisha Gillooly remarked about this recent acquisition.

Meek Mill Wonders Why Rick Ross Bought Another Of His Properties

Furthermore, Meek Mill had this home on the market for about two years, and recently uploaded a video tour of it to his Instagram. Also, he said that he didn’t even know Rick Ross purchased the home until after they signed the deal. In the video tour, he joked that his realtor wasn’t selling the property fast enough, and apparently it worked. “MANSION FOR SALE IN ATL,” he captioned the video. “My realtor not getting this off fast enough & I think I can lol. I never moved in it had for a few years.

“Sandy springs/buckhead area!” the “Dreams and Nightmares” MC continued. “When somebody get traded to the hawks or falcons come grab this Jawn! I’m not even gone tag who shot this s***ty video lol!” Moreover, the two recently teased an upcoming collaboration with pictures of them in the studio together. As such, they have more money moves on the way, for sure. Regardless, log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Rick Ross and Meek Mill.

Meek Mill Showed A Ton Of Love For The Viral AI Drake And The Weeknd Song Before Deleting His Tweet

Earlier this month, “Heart On My Sleeve” circulated social media. It was an AI-generated track that paired Drake with The Weeknd. After going viral on DSPs, Universal Music Group requested it to be taken down. However, many were fooled.

Meek Mill was among the fans streaming the song, and he even praised it on Twitter. “This my 5th time banging this and it’s flame,” he wrote, according to HipHopDX. “We need new music from y’all 2.” The tweet has since been deleted.

UMG gave a statement to Billboard regarding their decision to take down “Heart On My Sleeve.” “The training of generative AI using our artists’ music (which represents both a breach of our agreements and a violation of copyright law),” they said, “as well as the availability of infringing content created with generative AI on DSPs, begs the question as to which side of history all stakeholders in the music ecosystem want to be on: the side of artists, fans and human creative expression, or on the side of deep fakes, fraud and denying artists their due compensation. We’re encouraged by the engagement of our platform partners on these issues – as they recognize they need to be part of the solution.”

Meek Mill is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Meek Mill Praises AI-Generated Drake & The Weeknd Collab

Artificial intelligence is coming for Drake’s job as more AI-Generated records continue to disperse across YouTube. This week, an AI-Generated record utilizing Drake and The Weeknd’s voices titled “Heart On My Sleeve” emerged online. Though it received a polarizing response, Meek Mill called the record “flames” before encouraging the former collaborators to reunite on wax. “This is my 5th time banging this and it’s flame,” he wrote on Twitter, along with the YouTube link. “We need new music from y’all 2.”

While Meek might have a point, the use of AI has created concerns in the music industry. “Heart On My Sleeve,” credited to an individual under the name Ghostwriter, appeared on DSPs and YouTube before they were removed. Per Complex, the original upload also confirmed that they were a ghostwriter for years “and got paid close to nothing for major labels to profit.” Still, “Heart On My Sleeve” is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to AI-generated Drake songs. TMZ reports that two other singles replicating his voice, “Not A Game” and “Winters Cold,” began gaining steam on YouTube and TikTok.”

AI-Generated Drake & The Weeknd Song Surfaces

“Heart On My Sleeve” arrives just days after Drake finally reacted to the influx of AI-generated songs using his voice. Ice Spice’s “Munch” has apparently been a popular choice for testing out artificial intelligence. Versions with both Drake and Kanye West surfaced in the past week with the former acknowledging its uncanny resemblance to him. “This the final straw AI,” he wrote on his Instagram page last week.

Meanwhile, Universal Music took immediate action against Artificial Intelligence. The label issues a statement to the Financial Times, confirming that they’ve reached out to streaming services to uphold their “moral and commercial responsibility.” They said that they want Spotify and Apple to use technology to weed through the AI-generated records on their platforms. “We expect our platform partners will want to prevent their services from being used in ways that harm artists,” a spokesperson for UMG said. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding AI. For now, check out Meek Mill’s tweet and let us know your thoughts.

Meek Mill Marches With Robert Kraft in Poland in Remembrance of Holocaust Victims

Meek Mill continues to do good work in the public eye.  This time, he took his efforts internationally as he was just in Poland.  Along with Patriots owner Robert Kraft and a host of others, the Championship rapper marched in to remember all lives affected by the Holocaust.  The march is a yearly event called the “March of the Living.”

The “March of the Living” is just under two miles as participants will march through the location of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp.  It was the largest Nazi concentration camp in World War II.  Kraft has always fought against antisemitism as he led the march with the lighting of the torch.  Meek and Kraft have been good friends since he was put in prison back in 2018 by a biased judge.  They both are a part of the REFORM group that aims to improve probation, parole, and prison conditions.

Just recently, Meek was involved with a Kraft’s new campaign to prevent hate crimes against Jews.  Along with Tom Brady and Mike Tyson, the group raised $25 million.  It is not only to prevent hate crimes against Jewish people but to prevent hate crimes against people in general.

Meek Mill Calls Out Texas Court: “No Regard For Black Life”

Meek Mill is bringing some awareness to a seriously scary case out of Texas. This week, a black man in Texas was sentenced to 70 years in prison. This might make sense if the crime was horrific. However, 36-year-old Larry Pearson was sentenced to that time because he allegedly spit on police officers. Many have shown outrage at the sentence, claiming that it’s racism, pure and simple. Others have said that his history of violence warrants an extended period of time in jail. As is almost always the case, there is more to the story than spitting.

In May 2022, Larry Pearson was arrested after cops were flagged down by a person who alleged domestic violence. According to the victim, Pearson had struck her multiple times and claimed to have a firearm. The firearm was later found to be an airsoft gun. Pearson was taken into custody, but his behavior escalated as he kicked the doors of the police vehicle and spat at the officers when told to stop. Upon arrival at the Lubbock County Detention Center, he continued to spit at officers. Still, as Meek Mill later pointed out in a tweet, 70 years is insanity for a misdemeanor.

Meek Mill Calls For Action

Once the news broke, Meek took to his Twitter to speak out against the extreme sentence. “Nah this action level!!!!! Ain’t no way they can give us that much time for a misdemeanor,” he said. “Ion care what they gone try to say his record is! No regard for black life in that courtroom.” Meek Mill’s reaction to the verdict against Pearson seems very much justified. In fact, the judge on the case told the jury to “send a message” with their sentencing. Pearson did have previous convictions, but nothing that would warrant such a harsh punishment. Meek is no stranger to court system clownery, either.

On a post by The Shade Room, users used the comment section to speak their piece on the matter. Some agreed with Meek while others were somewhere in the middle. “Bro whaaattt?!? Anybody get anything even remotely close to that for storming the capital? I’ll wait….” said one. There were several people that disagreed with Meek’s assessment of the situation, however. “Unpopular opinion: 70 years is beyond unnecessary,” said one in disagreement. “But someone who has multiple DV and family abuse charges shouldn’t be coming home in 70 days either.” Who do you think is in the right here? Let us know in the comments.

Rick Ross Cops Meek Mill’s Mansion For A Light $4.2M

Meek Mill finally found a buyer for his Georgia mansion. Over the past two years, the rapper attempted to push the sale of the estate with little success. However, it turns out that the person who had an interest in the property is someone who he holds close to his heart. TMZ reports that Rick Ross purchased the property for $4.2 million. Still, Meek apparently wasn’t aware that the head honcho of the label that started his career was the one who scooped it up.

Ross’s realtor, Alisha Gillooly, confirmed that the MMG boss paid for the house in all cash. “I’ve been working to make an impact in the luxury market and this did just that,” Gillooly said. The Luxe pad is filled with amenities, from a tennis court, jacuzzi, swimming pool, movie theatre, and a sauna. It’s unclear what plans Ross has with the new pad but we could imagine it’s a home that’s fit for a boss. So far, Rick Ross hasn’t publicly acknowledged the sale but Meek Mill did a few days prior to news of Ross’ purchase.

Meek Mill Reacts To Rick Ross’ Sale

A few days prior to the announcement, Meek took to Twitter to celebrate the sale. “I sold that house that quick… It was for sale for like 2 years,” he wrote. “I knew it would soon as I posted it too!” Earlier this year, the rapper posted a virtual tour of the home as he flirted with the idea of becoming a realtor himself. However, he didn’t realize who purchased the home until TMZ came out with their report. “Sold Rozay the big dish estate,” he wrote. “I ain’t even know he bought this lol.”

Ross’ purchase is the latest development in his reconciliation with Meek Mill. As fans suspected the two were at odds in recent years, the Expensive Pain star brought out the MMG founder on stage during the 10-year anniversary concert for Dreams & Nightmares. Shortly after, the two joined forces in the studio where they previewed a new collaboration. Hopefully, we’ll hear that soon. Check out Meek Mill’s post above.
