Boosie Badazz Vents His Frustrations With New Orleans Pelicans For Lowballing Him: “They Don’t F*** With Me”

Boosie Badazz has a bone to pick and this time it is not with another rapper. He has always been an outspoken figure in the genre for better or worse. But, in this case, he has a solid point to make here. The Louisiana MC is one of the main faces when you think of artists from the Southern state. However, the New Orleans Pelicans are not looking to cater to him, even with all of the things he has done. According to HipHopDX, Boosie has been having issues with the NBA franchise for quite some time. From what we know, it seems to stem from the “insulting” offers the organization have been dishing out.

The trap rap star went on a rant on his Instagram Live and essentially called out the franchise for being cheap. His two main gripes with the Pelicans have to do with only being paid $1,000 for a performance at the arena, as well as no courtside seats. “They don’t wanna give me no courtside tickets. That’s cold-blooded. The Pelicans, they don’t fuck with me. Not the players, just… every time I try to get courtside tickets, I can’t get courtside tickets.”

Boosie Badazz Says Thanks But No Thanks To The Pelicans

He laughed off the lowball and continued to say that the Atlanta Hawks offer way more. “[They] pay $10,000, $7,500 to perform to their artists, and courtside seats.” That is quite ludicrous, especially because he is not synonymous with Georgia nearly as much as Louisiana. Boosie even went on to reveal that they asked him to perform for an HBCU celebration with the same “cold-blooded” offer. “They wanted me to perform at the HBCU night. Them people said $1K and I’m from Louisiana. That’s crazy. I’m like, ‘That don’t come with courtside seats?’ They’re like, ‘No.’ I think I told ’em, ‘I appreciate it but I’m good. I feel like that’s an insult.’”

What are your thoughts on Boosie Badazz not being able to get courtside seats for the Pelicans game? Is $1,000 too low of a payout to perform? Why do you think the organization cannot be more accommodating? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Boosie Badazz and the NBA. Kevin Gates Kills The “Rumors” On Latest Single

We might not have received the deluxe edition of Khaza but Kevin Gates still has a surplus of unreleased music in the vault. The Louisiana native has been coming through with plenty of new records in recent times. It could be a strong indication that a new project might be in the pipeline for this fall. Earlier this month, the rapper slid through with his new single, “Rumors.” Addressing the headlines that surrounded his name, the rapper sets the record straight surrounding the gossip that surrounds him.

Gates’ unapologetic persona takes center stage from the second the record begins. The rapper samples his wild quote from earlier this year where he stated, “Find me two n***as. Find me the one who said he stick his d*ck in me and find me the one who say I told on him. You could blow my brains out.” The rapper reflects on his street credentials across the record, vividly depicting his time in the streets and in prison while also paying homage to Gillie Da Kid’s son, Cheese, who passed away last month.

Kevin Gates Keeps His Foot On The Gas

The latest offering from Gates follows the release of singles like “I Don’t Apologize,” “3rd World Panama,” and “Do It Again.” Although he hasn’t confirmed whether a new project will arrive this year, he clearly isn’t holding back on releasing new music. At the same time, he’s also been a bit more visible in the public eye, as well, appearing on Revolt TV’s Crew League and facing off against Dave star, Gata.

Besides his recent single, fans have speculated that Drake and Kevin Gates might have new music together. The Baton Rouge rapper made a cameo at one of Drake’s shows in California recently with the Canadian rapper giving him a shout-out on stage. Hopefully, if there is new music with the two of them, we’ll hear it on Drake’s forthcoming album For All The Dogs. For now, check out Kevin Gates’ new single above.

JayDaYoungan Co-Defendant Reportedly Commits Suicide

A community in southeastern Louisiana is reeling after a night of shocking violence. Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’’s Office has reported that a 26-year-old man has killed himself after a standoff with police. The man in question is reported as being Tommie Diamond, a native of the small town of Kentwood. Furthermore, Diamond reportedly shot himself inside a residence in the town, which is in the northeastern part of the parish, after hours of negotiation with law enforcement. The Sheriff’s Office was attempting to arrest Diamond for the alleged murder of 18-year-old Calvin Felton, aka Highway Youngin.

Diamond reportedly shot and killed Felton at a residence in the village of Tangipahoa on May 28. Additionally, Chief Jimmy Travis told reporters that Diamond had been located by a family member at the Kentwood residence at around 11:30pm on June 1. Law enforcement converged on the scene and began to negotiate with Diamond. However, negotiations proved unsuccessful and Diamond died via a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities in Louisiana report that Diamond was out on bond for a second-degree murder charge. Diamond was one of seven men charged in the Roseland Trail Ride shooting of August 2020. According to law enforcement, the men fired into the crowd at a birthday party, hitting a number of the 100 or more assembled party-goers. Furthermore, a 21-year-old woman from Baton Rogue was killed during the incident.

Additionally, aside from Diamond, one of the other men charged with the shooting was Javoris Scott, aka JayDaYoungan. Scott was known as an up-and-coming rapper in the area. His best-known track is “23 Island”, which went two times platinum and peaked at #17 on the Billboard Bubbling Under 100. Furthermore, or his role in the 2020 shooting, Scott was charged with accessory to second-degree murder and obstruction of justice for his role in the incident. However, Scott was shot and killed in July 2022. It is unclear when the remaining defendants will face trial for their charges. This is a developing story and we’ll have any updates here on HotNewHipHop.

Kevin Gates Releases New Single “Do It Again”

While Kevin Gates might make headlines for his unusual claims (i.e. starting a car battery with his bare hands), it’s hard to deny how good his music is. The rapper continues to tease the deluxe edition of Khaza, which he announced last year. There hasn’t been a release date set. Still, he’s continued to keep a string of releases on deck to feed his loyal and dedicated fanbase.

This week, the rapper returned with his latest single, “Do It Again.” Release via YouTube, the rapper’s latest offering finds his powerful presence backed by equally dominant production as he brings fans through a journey of his come-up. Kevin Gates takes it back to Louisiana Ave., reflecting on loyalty and trust in the streets and his personal relationship. It’s another record that showcases the rapper’s consistency that he’s carried through his decade-plus career.

Kevin Gates Unleashes “Do It Again”

Since the beginning of 2023, Kevin Gates has kept his foot on the gas with a number of excellent singles. In February, he dropped off “Breakfast,” a record that seemingly confirmed his reconciliation with Dreka Gates. She also co-stars in the music video. Then, he dropped off records like “Pages” and “Trying To Forgive.” He also came through with some excellent collabs. He teamed up with T.I. on their long-awaited joint effort, “Active.” Most recently, he joined forces with NLE Choppa on “HABITS,” off of Cottonwood.

Kevin Gates released Khaza in 2022, marking his first full-length studio album since 2019’s I’m Him. However, between that three-year gap, he delivered shared a slew of music including Only The Generals Pt. II. Hopefully, it won’t be long until Gates comes through with either the deluxe edition of his 2022 or a brand new project altogether. Check out his single, “Do It Again” above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.
