The 50th anniversary of hip-hop has fans and musicians on high alert for glaring snubs by award ceremonies and more looking to celebrate the genre. So, today’s (November 10) 2024 Grammy Awards nomination broadcast had everyone locked in. Unfortunately, according to online communities, who are already in an uproar, the Grammys dropped the ball.

So, what are the rap Grammy nominations for 2024? Well, leading the pack with four nominations is notorious anti-Grammy rapper Drake. Behind him is Killer Mike, with three nominations, and Doja Cat, with two.

Lil Uzi Vert is one of the more elusive artists we have going in modern hip-hop. Even though they usually promise projects that they announce, they take quite a while before they see the light of day. It does sound greedy to say that, though. We did just get the Pink Tape a few months ago. However, with in-demand artists, most want them to drop as much as possible. Uzi cut a deal with his fans that if they got his last album to number one, they would drop another project this year. While that has not come to fruition just yet, there is still a chance it will happen.

At a recent show, Uzi took a timeout to send their love and appreciation to their committed and patient fans. Uproxx, came across a Twitter video from the concert on which the Philadelphia rapper was extremely blessed to have great fans. “As long as I got respect from y’all, that’s all that matters. You know how many people in this s*** used me, disrespected me, that stole my whole style when I never gave a f***? As long as I got y’all, we gonna keep this s*** going.”

Lil Uzi Vert Shouts Out His Loyal Fans

It is great to see when fans respect an artist’s craft and hard work and Uzi wanted to be sure that their supporters knew that. In addition to that heartfelt thank you, they also shared a big update. “So, I’mma keep rocking for now, and Luv Is Rage 3 is on the way.” While there is no release date, we do have some intel on the project. During a recent stop on Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape Tour, they took some time to address the crowd — with a sweet speech, and an even more exciting announcement: that their next album, Luv Is Rage 3, is coming soon.

“As long as I got respect from y’all, that’s all that matters,” Lil Uzi Vert said. “You know how many people in this sh*t used me, disrespected me, that stole my whole style when I never gave a f*ck? As long as I got y’all, we gonna keep this sh*t going.”

“All I ever wanted was respect,” they added. “I never wanted to be the richest person in the world. I never wanted to have the biggest diamonds. None of that. I just wanted all respect. So, I’mma keep rocking for now, and Luv Is Rage 3 is on the way.”

Just this summer, Uzi dropped their album, Pink Tape — but is keeping very busy to have even more new music scheduled. “You know I only drop Luv Is Rage when my heart is hurting. It’s about that time. But you know, right now,” they previously teased during a September festival set.

Is Lil Uzi Vert thinking about kids? Hitting his Instagram story, he expressed his desire to have a child he could teach “cool stuff” to.

“Been working on my self, my faith, my craft my last album is beautiful it feels good not being in a race and actually loving every song because each song is true,” Uzi wrote. “I wish I had a kid already so I could teach him or her cool stuff.”

This message follows Lil Uzi Vert stating his last album is coming because he wants a normal life.

Speaking on the Pink Tape Tour, Lil Uzi revealed Luv Is Rage 3 will be his last album.

“I came to this conclusion not too long ago,” Uzi said. “I was gonna wait ’til later to say it but, you know, I’m dropping ‘Luv Is Rage 3’ and ‘Luv Is Rage 3’ will be my last album.”

Lil Uzi Vert said after that album, we would do another tour before he tries “to live a normal life.”

Last month, Ken Carson treated fans to his new album A Great Chaos. While some critics weren’t convinced, the record received massive praise from fans online. The 18-track project sports three features from Destroy Lonely, who released an album of his own earlier this year. Carson had a listening party for the new album which featured a rare public appearance from Playboi Carti.

A Great Chaos also features an appearance from Lil Uzi Vert on the song “Like This.” That’s probably why Carson showed up during a recent Lil Uzi show in Atlanta so the pair could perform the track together. But it was what happened after the show that is starting to get attention online. There’s a video making the rounds of Carson having a scuffle with the police backstage making the rounds online. Though the clip is short it does show Carson shoving an officer as they’re trying to escort him out of the building, something he’s likely to get in some trouble for. A few weeks ago, Lil Uzi Vert told fans that the third installment of their Luv Is Rage mixtape series is on the way, noting that “I only drop Luv Is Rage when my heart is hurting. It’s about that time.” Although the Philly rapper declined to elaborate, it looks like the reason for the aforementioned pain might be a breakup with their longtime girlfriend JT of City Girls. According to Hot97, the two rappers had unfollowed each other on Instagram, citing a gossip account with screenshots of Uzi venting on their Story.

In the posts, Uzi wrote, “Im not as close to my family as I should be. My relationship isn’t in the best shape. I JUST WANNA BREATHE… I’ve been distant from everyone lately, even if they are standing right next to me.” While neither has confirmed a breakup — and this isn’t the first time such a rumor has surfaced — the evidence for such a conclusion is certainly mounting.

The two rappers had been dating ever since 2021 when JT said Uzi gave her $30,000 on their first date. Later that year, Uzi reportedly rented out an amusement park for JT’s 29th birthday.

Lil Uzi Vert is currently on the road sharing their long-awaited album, Pink Tape, with supporters around the country. Although the “Just Wanna Rock” rapper is having a blast touring, Uzi’s latest onstage confession revealed that they are planning to step away from music sooner than fans would like. Yesterday (October 23), during the Pink Tape Tour stop in Chicago, Illinois, Uzi announced his retirement plans to the sold-out crowd. So, here’s why Uzi is retiring from rap.

“I came to this conclusion not too long ago,” Uzi said in a video captured by a concertgoer. “I was gonna wait ’til later to say it, but, you know, I’m dropping Luv Is Rage 3. And Luv Is Rage 3 will be my last album.”

After the crowd began to moan in disapproval, they interjected, “Relax. It’s okay.”

Uzi continued, “After Luv Is Rage 3, I guess I will go on another tour. But after that, I wanna try to live a normal life.” The crowd erupted in applause to support the entertainer’s desire for normalcy.

Uzi began making music in 2010 and found commercial success five years later at the age of 20. Since then, they haven’t been able to space the limelight. So, Uzi’s wish to renounce their fame makes sense. Uzi didn’t reveal when this fade from glory will begin.
