We’re only two days into Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial and revelations are already coming at a rapid-fire pace. Today while trying to refute a piece of evidence brought by the prosecution, his lawyer referenced one of the strangest hip-hop news stories of the past few years. The piece of evidence is a conversation where Thug reportedly said “YSL rule the world kid. 24m on a n*gga head, y’all just start bringing me money.”
The prosecution introduced the evidence under the interpretation that the 24m line is about putting a bounty on someone’s head. But Thug’s lawyers had an entirely different explanation. in court today the defense claimed that the comment was actually a reference to Lil Uzi Vert, who famously got an expensive diamond embedded in their forehead. Subsequently the story was widely shared online with thousands of fans and numerous fellow rappers, including Young Thug sharing their reactions to it. Check out his lawyer making the explanation in court.
Young Thug’s 24m Comment Was Allegedly About Lil Uzi Vert
It’s yet another big revelation within the world of hip-hop from day two of the trial. Earlier today, defense lawyers claimed that the title phrase in Young Thug and Gunna’s song “pushin P.” But the explanation wasn’t what many thought. They claimed that it stood for “Pushing Positivity” which many online cracked jokes about after it happened. The song proved to be a massive hit for the pair in 2021. Even at the time it was called into question what exactly the title phrase meant, though this was not the explanation many were anticipating.
Earlier today, the defense lawyers made yet another surprise revelation. They explained the origin of a supposed beef between Thug and YFN Lucci. The beef is mentioned often in the prosecutions evidence. They explained that the beef was manufactured primarily for Lucci to generate attention and clout towards his own rap career. What do you think of the explanation that Young Thug’s statement was actually a reference to Lil Uzi Vert’s forehead diamond? Let us know in the comment section below.
Lil Uzi Vert has been giving their fans and music listeners across the world so many great tracks. When they started to gain traction in 2015-2016, it was an exciting time in rap. Their voice and style was something quite different from most mainstream artists. It helped blossom them into a star fairly quickly. “Money Longer” was a song that really put them on the map for those who were not in the know. Since then, Uzi delivered and then some every year. They were always near the top of the charts, if not at number one.
Tracks like “XO Tour Llif3,” “Bad and Boujee” “Sideline Watching (Hold Up),” and “Ps & Qs,” just had something special to them. The main reason for that is Uzi’s incredible energy and laid-back vibe they like to bring to their music. One of those that need to be in that conversation is “Just Wanna Rock.” Everything from the Jersey club style beat, to the dance that has taken over social media, it has become another global phenomenon.
Because of this, Uzi has earned a Grammy nomination for it at next year’s award show. It received the nod for Best Rap Song and it will compete with artists like Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Killer Mike, and more. Interestingly, this is just Uzi’s third Grammy nod in his career. Because of this, they were extra appreciative of it at a recent show for their Pink Tape tour. Here is what they had to say, according to some footage provided by HipHopDX. They said, “I got nominated for a Grammy this year. And I don’t really get nominated often, so this really means a lot to me.” After that, they proceeded to play “Just Wanna Rock” and the crowd went nuts.
What are your initial thoughts on Lil Uzi Vert celebrating their Grammy nomination for “Just Wanna Rock?” Out of all of their hit songs, is this one of them that deserves this recognition? Were you surprised that they had a small amount of Grammy nods? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Lil Uzi Vert, as well as everything else going on around the music world.

One was Lil Uzi Vert. The rapper took to their Instagram Story to say, “I never said I was doing Rolling Loud,” adding, “Don’t understand why my name is on here.”
As of Wednesday afternoon, November 15, Uzi’s name is no longer on the list. The festival posted an updated lineup poster, with Future and Metro Boomin replacing Uzi as Sunday headliners.
The festival is scheduled to take place at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California (surrounding SoFi Stadium) from Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17, 2024. Nicki Minaj will handle headlining duties on Friday, followed by Post Malone on Saturday. The full lineup can be found here.

Just a day after Rolling Loud California unveiled its star-studded 2024 lineup, Lil Uzi Vert caused a stir by publicly stating that they never agreed to be a part of the festival. Now, it has emerged that the Philadelphia rapper is set to be replaced, with Future and Metro Boomin taking his place.
‘I Never Said I Was Doing Rolling Loud’
On Tuesday, Nov. 14, Rolling Loud California 2024 announced its star-studded lineup, and Lil Uzi Vert called out the festival after its reveal. Shortly after, it was announced that Future and Metro Boomin would take his place as headliners.
The announcement by Rolling Loud, one of the most prominent hip-hop festivals in the country, named Lil Uzi Vert as one of the headliners alongside Nicki Minaj and Post Malone. However, Uzi quickly took to social media to express their thoughts on the lineup writing:
“I never said I was doing Rolling Loud, don’t understand why my name is on here @rollingloud.”
Lil Uzi Gets Replaced
Uzi’s Instagram story post, in which they distanced themselves from the festival lineup, instantly caught the attention of their followers.
One Twitter (X) user, @dontgetsmackedd, wrote, “Lol as if they’re not in a deal…if the label said you going, n*gga YOU GOING.”
Rolling Loud California has not yet responded to the claim. However, on Nov. 15, the event’s official Twitter announced that the “Just Wanna Rock” rapper will be replaced by Future and Metro Boomin.

Rolling Loud is kicking off 2024 with a bang. Today (November 14), the festival conglomerate announced their line-up for Rolling Loud California 2024, which will take place over the course of three days at the Hollywood Park Grounds in Inglewood next March.
The line-up for Rolling Loud California boasts some heavy hitters, with Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, and Lil Uzi Vert billed as headliners. However, there has been a bit of confusion regarding the talent.
Is Lil Uzi Vert performing at Rolling Loud California 2024?
They shared a picture of the Rolling Loud announcement, with text over it reading “I never said I was doing rolling loud don’t understand why my name is on here.”
At the time of writing, there has been no announcement from Rolling Loud or Uzi regarding Uzi’s removable from the line-up. So, fans can look forward to seeing Lil Uzi Vert perform at Rolling Loud California next March (for now, anyway).
Lil Uzi Vert is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
It looks like there may have been a miscommunication between Lil Uzi Vert and their management regarding their appearance on the Rolling Loud California lineup for 2024 because Uzi appears confused. “I never said I was doing Rolling Loud,” they wrote on Instagram over a repost of the event’s flyer in Stories. “Don’t understand why my name is on here.”
Lil Uzi Vert reacts to news he’s headlining Rolling Loud 2024:

While miscues like this do occasionally happen in the entertainment industry (actually, they happen all the time, just rarely at this scale), it’s unusual that Lil Uzi Vert wouldn’t want to do Rolling Loud. They’ve been a mainstay at the festival since it began to rise to prominence a few years ago, appearing on the roster most years since at least 2017.
However, Uzi has been insinuating lately that they’re fed up with the music business, hinting at retirement and personal issues including a possible breakup with City Girls’ JT. Anyone hoping that their Grammy nomination for Pink Tape would salve those psychic wounds might end up disappointed.
This isn’t the first time a big-name festival announced its lineup before the artists involved were informed by their respective teams. In 2020, the Lovers And Friends Festival lineup was disputed by both Mase and Lil Kim before they figured things out. Despite those checks eventually clearing, though, the festival was postponed due to COVID-19, eventually taking place at a later date.

Rolling Loud California 2024 will kick off the outdoor live music season next year. Today (November 14), the organizer of the multi-day event announced the full lineup, which includes headliners Nicki Minaj (March 15), Post Malone (March 16), and Lil Uzi Vert (March 17). So, how much are tickets for Rolling Loud California 2024?
On the official Rolling Loud website, one-day passes are not listed for the 2024 California installment. Instead, only three-day packages are shown. The lowest cost option is the 3-day general admission pass. This option starts at $299. Next is the 3-day general admission+, which starts at $449. The 3-day VIP package runs for $599, whereas the 3-day VIP + munchie pack retails for $799.
Each package has different perks and varying age restrictions. Both general admission packages start at 16 years old. The VIP passes start at 18 years old.
