Internet Money’s ‘His & Hers’ Video With Don Toliver, Gunna, And Lil Uzi Vert Is A Fantasy Digital World

Internet Money’s new single “His & Hers” arrived yesterday amid a packed New Music Friday slate, but that doesn’t detract from its hit potential. To refocus fans’ attention on the single, the production duo consisting of Nick Mira and Taz Taylor released the Cole Bennett-directed video today, prompting some celebratory tweets from Taylor.

As with most Lyrical Lemonade productions, director Cole Bennett imagines a fantastical world for his stars Don Toliver, Gunna, and Lil Uzi Vert to play around in, this time taking inspiration from nostalgia for the Windows XP default desktop backgrounds of his youth (dear God, I feel old). While Don Toliver performs his verse on a grassy hilltop under a partially cloudy blue sky, Gunna’s performance takes place in a cubical room with a similar pattern on the walls and ceiling. Meanwhile, Toliver gets to frolic among a field of sunflowers during the chorus, and Uzi tools around on the surface of the moon. For group shots, all three appear in a misty forest setting, dressed in outlandish camo hunting outfits.

Lil Uzi Vert’s new mansion costs less than his forehead diamond

Lil-Uzi-Verts-Eternal-Atake-Is-Still-Doing-Big-Numbers

Hip-hop star Lil Uzi Vert is movin’ on up, but his new California mansion’s price tag still pales in comparison to the trademark pink diamond embedded in his forehead. The Grammy nominee’s new house on the hills isn’t gigantic, but it’s all about the location and the views. Lil Uzi Vert drops millions on new […]

Internet Money Reunites With Don Toliver And Gunna On ‘His & Hers’ Featuring Lil Uzi Vert

Last year, hit-making production duo Internet Money shut down the summertime with their single “Lemonade” featuring Don Toliver, Gunna, and Nav, proving their penchant for tapping directly into the pleasure centers of audiences’ brains. Today, nine months after their alchemical formula made them a household name, they’ve reunited with their superstar partners Don Toliver and Gunna on “His & Hers,” swapping out Nav for Lil Uzi Vert for another mathematical colalboration poised to take over the Hot 100 chart.

Internet Money’s Taz Taylor has been hyping the track for weeks and spent most of the day tweeting out tidbits of information about the track’s production and development. He says it took over 10 months to complete, that he changed the tempo of the track because historically songs have done better at a higher rate of BPMs than it was originally recorded, and that he credited every person who had a hand in its creation, no matter their contribution.

Meanwhile, all three featured artists are poised for a huge year as well. After they all dropped well-received albums in 2020, they have each teased new material to come. Don Toliver started the rollout for his second album with “What You Need,” Gunna made multiple appearances on YSL’s Slime Language 2 compilation, and Lil Uzi Vert promised his new album would come “soon,” contributing features to Bebe Rexha and Justin Bieber.

Lil Uzi Vert Reportedly Buys A $4.4 Million Mansion In California’s Bell Canyon

Lil Uzi Vert is well-known for making extravagant purchases, from his love for five-figure clothing shopping sprees and dropping the cost of a brand-new mid-sized car on a first date to the massive pink diamond he had embedded in his forehead. Fortunately, his latest big-money buy is also pretty practical; Dirt.com reports he recently signed the deed to a $4.4 million property in California’s Bell Canyon, on the outskirts of the San Fernando Valley.

The mansion occupying the property is listed at 1.5 acres and two stories, with five bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, and panoramic views of the valley via the glass-walled construction. It’s got a massive, open-floor plan, a convenient and picturesque patio, an outdoor kitchen/bar area for entertaining, and of course, an outdoor pool tucked under one of its balconies. The neighborhood includes hiking trails, tennis courts, and an equestrian center — maybe Uzi and JT can get into horseback riding.

Uzi’s set to headline the Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash in August and has a new album on the way, so it’s likely he’ll have a lot more money to burn soon enough. Check out photos of his new home below.

Lil Uzi Vert ‘Dumbed Down’ ‘Eternal Atake’ For Sales, But Really Wanted It To Be ‘Cultlike’

It’s no accident that Lil Uzi Vert is one of the most popular figures within hip-hop. In fact, he admits some of the calculated choices he made to attain that status in a new interview in W Magazine. Commenting on the commercial success of his most recent album Eternal Atake, which debuted at No. 1 two weeks in a row thanks to its split release and is still charting a year later, he says that he considers the album “dumbed down” as a direct appeal to a broader audience.

“All of my music for Eternal Atake got leaked, so I had to redo it,” he recalls. “It didn’t reach its full potential—I just knew it wasn’t the sound I was going for. Let’s just say Eternal Atake, for another artist, would have been really good because it was super dumbed down to where everyone could enjoy it, but that’s not my artistry. I want my new music to be more intimate to my real fans. I wanted it to be almost cultlike.”

Uzi attributes his artistic compromises to playing the comparison game. “I was listening to all the industry guys and their formats—it was confusing me because these guys are getting No. 1’s,” he allows. But I realized the music ain’t even living; their No. 1’s are real quick. I had to realize this is their beginning; they’re younger than me, so they have room to do that. I don’t have room to do that. I used to always look at all the young guys and be like, ‘Oh, shout out this guy.’ I ain’t shouting out nobody no more.” With a new album on the way, he’ll have a chance to make up for his perceived missteps.

Lyrical Lemonade’s 2021 Summer Smash Is Headlined By ASAP Rocky, Lil Baby, And Lil Uzi Vert

Following a year that left us indoors, masked up, and praying for the day that our freedom came back, the second half of 2021 is shaping up to be a return of the normalcy we once knew. Festivals are making their way back to the scene as a string of popular showcases, including Rolling Loud and Governor’s Ball, recently announced their 2021 dates. Now, joining that list is Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash festival who just announced the lineup for their upcoming show.

This year’s Summer Smash festival will be a three-day showcase that takes place on the weekend of August 20-22, 2021. The first day is headlined by ASAP Rocky while the second is led by Lil Baby, and for the third and final day, Lil Uzi Vert will take the stage as the headliner to end the weekend. Additional appearances from Lil Yachty, Mulatto, Swae Lee, Femdot, Kaash Paige, Yung Baby Tate, Baby Keem, City Girls, Coi Leray, Earl Sweatshirt, Gunna, Ski Mask The Slump God, Blueface, MadeInTYO, 24kGoldn, Benny The Butcher, The Kid Laroi, NLE Choppa, Pooh Shiesty, Jasiah, and many more can be expected at this year’s Summer Smash.

The festival also joins a growing list of showcases ASAP Rocky will headline later this year, including the aforementioned Rolling Loud and Governor’s Ball. This seemingly signals that the rapper’s long-awaited fourth album is much closer to arriving than some may expect.

City Girls’ JT Says Lil Uzi Vert Gave Her $30,000 On Their First Date

While some romantic relationships in hip-hop have fallen apart, Lil Uzi Vert and City Girls’ JT have been going strong for the past few months. Their relationship saw some ups and downs in its early stages, but the pair was able to work things out. During a recent appearance with fellow City Girls rapper Yung Miami on Justin Combs and Just LaBoy’s new show Respectfully Justin, JT shared how her first date with Lil Uzi went.

“He had a bag full of money and I had a little Chanel bag and he was like, ‘Take as much as you can.’ I could only fit $30,000, and I was so mad,” JT said during the episode. She added that their time together included a trip to the Louis Vuitton and Taco Bell for a rather short date night due to JT needing to “be back to the halfway house,” which she stayed at between October 2019 and March 2020 following a conviction on identity theft and fraudulent credit card charges.

The City Girls rapper then showed some love to Lil Uzi for how great of a partner he is. “I don’t want to keep talking because it’s gonna seem like I’m bragging,” she said. I have a good man. I didn’t even know he was a good man. I was f*ckin’ with him for almost two years before I found out he was a good man.”
