Destroy Lonely faced domestic abuse allegations earlier this year, so when a new video surfaced of him arguing with his girlfriend Shannade Clermont at a gas station, fans expressed alarm. While it’s not exactly clear what they argued about in the clip, it seems like he was trying to get into the car with her, and she wouldn’t open it. All in all, it’s not a good look for the Opium rapper, especially considering previous controversies associated not just with his name, but with the label as a whole. But Clermont took to Twitter on Thursday (November 28) to ward off these more serious implications, explain that it was just an argument, and express her excitement for celebrating Thanksgiving with him.
“stop the f***ing lies,” Shannade Clermont tweeted of the Destroy Lonely video, and a series of other related tweets followed. “never had a disagreement with your partner??? Yall a strict f***ing crowd!! PLS.” “Lmao he was mad I locked him out.” “ready to feed my man ham, turkey, jerk chicken ,rice and peas, oxtails, Mac and cheese, pasta salad, candied yams, and my yams.” “Because we both petty and can talk s**t and f**k and laugh about it later.” “HE DID NOT [hit me].” “he treats me like a princess. I suck the soul outta him 28/7 because of that. Hope yall enjoy yall dry a** turkeys today!!” “IF [a] N***A SAYS HE HATES ME BUT STILL F***ING ME AND NOT GOING ANYWHERE I THINK THAT SAYS THE OPPOSITE.”
As such, it seems like fans can put this Destroy Lonely situation to rest while maintaining a reasonable view on the situation. But it’s important to scrutinize and proceed with caution in things like these. Elsewhere, he’s facing other problems in the industry, such as sample clearance issues with unsatisfied producers.
It’s also been a big year for Destroy Lonely outside of the headlines thanks to his LOVE LASTS FOREVER album and its expansion for hardcore fans. Maybe next year, the antics die down a bit and he can focus more on his craft, continuing to give listeners the sound they love.
Stephen A Smith has weighed in on the results of the 2024 presidential election, in which Donald Trump retook the White House. Speaking with Bill Maher on the latest episode of the Club Random podcast, Smith explained that he doesn’t view Trump as racist and admitted he used to be friendly with him.
“If we’re being totally honest, all the brothers found him to be cool. They found him to be very cool. So, let’s be clear. Because he knew his sports, all right? He would say what he feel, he bucked the establishment, which we love, and we gravitated to that,” Smith said. From there, Maher chimed in to suggest that Trump isn’t genuinely “hateful.” “Is he really, like, in his heart, like hateful? No. I don’t think his motivation is ‘I don’t like black people.’ I think his motivation is ‘Everybody must love me,’” Maher stated. Smith added: “I have never called him a racist. I have never spoken about him that way. Ever. Not one time. Not one time. Because I knew him beforehand.”
Donald Trump Speaks With The Press Before Boarding Air Force 1
Later in the interview, Smith recalled the former President trying to purchase the Buffalo Bills back in 2014. He says when the league denied his request, he vowed to get revenge after he became president. Trump went on to criticize the league after Colin Kaepernick famously kneeled during the national anthem.
Stephen A Smith Discusses Donald Trump
Trump will take over the White House once again after his inauguration on January 20th of next year. Check out Stephen A Smith’s full comments on Donald Trump with Bill Maher below.
Folks recently shared their well-wishes and shocked sympathies for Bishop TD Jakes, who recently suffered a medical emergency at his church in Dallas, Texas on Sunday (November 24) during a sermon. Now, the church in question, The Potter’s House, has issued a statement on the matter that should hopefully assuage fans’ worries. “During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message. Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals. the entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community. Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers.”
Hopefully Bishop T.D. Jakes continues to recover well and is able to return to his calling sooner rather than later. While he’s always been a notable pop culture figure, he really rose in the headlines and Internet gossip circles last year when folks alleged a connection to the Diddy scandal. Apparently, Jakes had been to some parties and indulged in the alleged “freaky” activity that took place at them. It didn’t take long before a response emerged.
“Recent claims circulating on pockets of social media about Bishop T.D. Jakes are unequivocally false and baseless,” his team relayed in a statement. “What has always been true, in the words of the late Pastor Charles H. Spurgeon, ‘If you want the truth to go round the world you must hire an express train to pull it; but if you want a lie to go round the world it will fly; it is as light as a feather, and a breath will carry it.’ [It’s] disheartening to witness the proliferation of numerous deepfake photos and the distortion of words through false, sensationalized misrepresentations, encapsulating purported statements to falsely speculate and attack others, including Bishop Jakes.”
Meanwhile, Bishop T.D. Jakes himself condemned Diddy’s assault of Cassie after the hotel footage surfaced, so he’s done what he can to distance himself from those assumptions. Hopefully he doesn’t face any further challenges regarding his health scare, and he can return to his life’s work with the same passion.
Bhad Bhabie shocked her followers a few weeks ago when she revealed she was taking cancer medication, which obviously prompted a lot of worries. But it seems like she is getting in better spirits and stepping out for her daily routine, strolling around with her boyfriend Le Vaughn in Calabasas on Friday (November 22) in the first photos that emerged since the news of her cancer diagnosis broke. If you want to check the pictures out, you can click on the “Via” link down below. It seems like they were having a great time, which is heartening to see after they’ve gone through a lot together, and allegedly at each other’s hands.
For those unaware, Bhad Bhabie had accused Le Vaughn of domestic violence earlier this year. “I wasn’t gonna speak on this but who said I was staying?” she previously stated, which is apparently not the case anymore. “What about that post made y’all think I’m staying? Bc I said I love him? Bc I said he’s gonna get help? I’m so confused and apparently so are yall.” “She did that for a reason, I ain’t do that. If I did that she wouldn’t be with me,” Le Vaughn responded to the allegations.
Elsewhere, fans are still talking about Bhad Bhabie’s cancer diagnosis, which some people did not respectfully react to. “How dare you – you little vile piece of s**t – say my daughter would lie about something like that?” her mother ranted against someone who thought the rapper is faking everything. “You’re a dad… How many children did you have through a surrogate? I’m not even sure. You need to focus on them and not mine. Go find another way to make some money instead of talking s**t about other people. Is this the only way you can make money, talking s**t about people? How dare you!”
Meanwhile, at least Bhad Bhabie and Le Vaughn are finding small and personal moments to celebrate amid all the drama, such as the latter’s recent birthday. Hopefully she continues to recover well and be successful on that journey, and that they continue to heal.
TD Jakes, the bishop and pastor that rose to prominence for his alleged connection to Diddy, seemingly suffered a medical emergency during a sermon on Sunday morning (November 24). He was addressing the church congregators and the folks at home who were watching him via livestream, quietly wiping sweat off his face, telling his audience he loves them, and speaking on visiting someone at the hospital who motivated their visitor. At one point, Jakes stopped his speech, his arms fell to the side, and he began to shake, which prompted many people to run over and try to help him. The livestream ended shortly after. Hopefully the Potter’s House megachurch senior pastor recovers well and quickly.
Previously, T.D. Jakes made headlines for his remarks after the footage of Diddy assaulting Cassie in a hotel hallway emerged online. “Then, a woman said to me, ‘Would you please pray for women who are living in danger in their own house?’” he said. “And there was something about the way she said it… It was a cry for help. The atrocious, degrading, demeaning, debauchery — I know who it was, but I saw my daughters. As a man, I saw my daughters, and it made me angry… And I thought if it affected me like that as a man, how much more is that image a trigger for women who have been through that, who are currently going through that… And feel trapped in situations where you are being physically and emotionally and verbally abused?”
Even though T.D. Jakes completely denied any malicious involvement with Diddy, the Bad Boy mogul continues to find inspiration in his perspective. Both of them are in pretty tough situations right now for wholly different reasons, but we don’t know the extent of their disconnection these days.
“I will not use this sacred day and this sacred pulpit to address a lie when I have the chance to preach the truth,” T.D. Jakes said during his Christmas Eve sermon. These rumors shot Jakes up into the stratosphere of media attention thanks to the Diddy scandal. But sadly, now he has larger issues to deal with that we hope he can recover from.
It’s been a tough year for animal rights activists to convince Drake to support their causes, because he couldn’t sniff them out with a massive slab of beef cooking in front of him. In the months since the release of WE DON’T TRUST YOU, we’ve spilled a lot of ink on the rap battle of the decade so far, and he’s been unable to let go of it no matter what he tries. But the Toronto superstar eventually cleared the air and moved on, and ironically, the lack of beef has now been matched with a righteous business decision. PETA thanked him on Twitter for his OVO clothing brand eliminating their use of animal fur.
“Here’s a toast to @champagnepapi!” PETA wrote in a statement. “Clothing and lifestyle brand October’s Very Own (OVO), cofounded by Canadian rapper Drake, has confirmed that it will no longer sell products with real animal fur. The decision follows pressure from PETA and more than 100,000 e-mails to the brand from PETA’s supporters urging the company to ban fur – including fur from rabbits and coyotes. In thanks, we’ve sent the company some delicious bunny–shaped vegan chocolates.”
Still, there’s some more parallels to draw in this weird Venn diagram of PETA, Drake, and beef. The 6ix God is a pretty big hater of Pharrell, who recently spoke to GQ about how he didn’t really stress out over Drizzy’s disses. But an even bigger Pharrell naysayer is PETA, as animal rights protestors have directly confronted him on multiple occasions recently. One protestor interrupted a screening for his Piece By Piece biopic to speak out against Louis Vuitton, and another group of protestors confronted him after the GQ Men Of The Year party.
Meanwhile, later today, Drake will apparently hop on xQc’s stream to give away $500K for a gambling event, which should be pretty fun. We wonder if he will talk about Kendrick Lamar’s new album GNX, the beef in general, or updates on his PARTYNEXTDOOR collab album. In any case, it’s interesting to see this update to OVO clothing guidelines, and hopefully more big hip-hop brands can follow suit.
Small-town authenticity is a selling point in music right now. Let us remind you — and we’re sorry for this — of Jason Aldean and his viral hit “Try That In A Small Town.” That song has all sorts of issues for all sorts of reasons, but one of the most ironic is that Aldean, despite what his small-town anger anthem might suggest, grew up in Macon Georgia (not a particularly small town), and currently calls Nashville (very much not a small town) home these days.
Singer-songwriter Noah Kahan is the opposite of that — The Grammy Award nominee is actually from a small town, Strafford, Vermont (population 1,105), and exudes the kind of community-focused good vibes you’d expect from a small-town guy who wears his heart on his sleeve and sings about said heart while strumming a guitar. Dude grew up on a tree farm — need we say more?
Kahan is legit, authentic, warm, and inviting — that was apparent in our first minute of talking to him.
We linked up with Kahan ahead of his upcoming concert at Charleston, South Carolina’s Riviera Theater on November 30th, American Express Presents: Celebrating Small Business Saturday With Noah Kahan, to talk about his upcoming concert, his plans for 2025 (spoiler, he’s working on the next album), and what it was like playing Fenway Park at the close of his “We’ll All Be Here Forever” headlining tour.
Since Kahan is linking up with American Express to champion small business, we also checked to see if he was the real deal by asking him to shout out some of his favorite Vermont small businesses, to which he gave us some solid reccs. Let’s dive in!
Tell me a bit about this performance with American Express. What is it all about and why’d you want to partner with them?
Well, American Express highlighting small businesses, and supporting small businesses is a really fundamental part of my life. I grew up in a place where we didn’t have a lot of chain stores, there wasn’t big corporate overlords supporting us. It was the people of the town. I grew up in a town with one store, well, one small business. There was a couple but one grocery store market, and it was so important to have that because it’s the convenience store or grocery store is the heart of the town. You can have the town hall and you have the library, but where you’re going to see the most people every day is at the grocery store.
And that was a really big part of my life, seeing friends there, seeing people I grew up with, having friends and family work there, watching the heart of the community grow. That store was Coburns’ General Store in Strafford. The past couple of years they’re transitioning away from Coburns and the Coburns family is trying to sell and move the store and it really impacts the whole town more than you realize. So getting a chance to support other small businesses and help be a part of raising those businesses up is really important to me and is kind of part of my central mission in my career, and a big part of my childhood.
In your experience going from small-town guy to one of the biggest artists right now, what do small businesses have and what makes them so vital that bigger businesses don’t?
I think it’s really as simple as the personal touch. They represent what the town represents, instead of represent an interest of a corporation or a larger entity that is hoping to make money off of people. I think when you’re paying money to your neighbor to buy bread, it’s different than when you’re paying money to a giant corporation that doesn’t care about you. It feels like you’re supporting each other. I know it’s not, obviously it’s transactional and you still spend money on things and you have to pay for your items and they get paid, but you know who you’re helping and who you’re supporting. I think that goes a really long way and it also represents the mood in town. You can really get a feel for what’s happening in your area by just being and existing in those spaces.
When there’s no other option, that place becomes incredibly vital to what the town means and what it looks like. I think living in a city now, I see so much choice and you don’t feel like anything really matters because another place just like that will pop up. And when you live in a place that has just that one place or just those few businesses that keep everything going, it feels like something that represents who you are and where you’re from. I really find that small business is a reflection of what the town is and not just another place to buy salad.
You played Fenway Park recently. What can you tell us about that experience?
I mean, that was the most incredible experience of my life. Every other experience afterwards has felt like the first minutes of morning after you wake up from the best dream you ever had, where it’s just like, “Oh, right, this is life.” It was so surreal. There was just something so magical that I’d never experienced on stage. I’ve played hundreds and hundreds and made thousands of shows now and nothing I ever felt quite as special.
Just the atmosphere and the energy and looking up and seeing the green monster and seeing Fenway Park and all my family and friends being there, but also this album that really was a testament and a ode to New England. Being in what I feel like is the heart of New England, which is Fenway Park and getting a chance to finish off the tour there. It was just so perfect. It was very much like the last scene in a movie. So it was cool to play a place where I’ve been going to to see ballgames my whole life.
I want to turn a little bit to your upbringing in Vermont and get a little more on a travel angle here. Just off the top of your head, what are some of your favorite food spots in Vermont?
Oh, there’s a bunch of great food spots in Vermont. They’re usually kind of far between each other, but there’s a lot of great places to get food. There’s so much great farming and produce and just agricultural wealth in Vermont, so you find a lot of great really fresh food. A good example of that is the Worthy Burger in South Royalton, Vermont. It’s just an amazing burger place and it’s very much Vermont. It’s like a little bar and it’s always got folk music playing and there’s a huge beer list and you can get like CBD infused beers, but the burgers are just so good. The fries are so good. The staff is always really kind and again, you see someone you know every time you go there.
And I can never tell with Vermont food if it’s really good or if I’m just nostalgic about it. But I think Worthy Burger’s probably one of the better burgers I’ve had in my life and everyone’s doing the Smashburger style now and I do like a Smashburger, but Worthy Burger does a nice girthy burger. It’s like a real burger and it just feels classic and very, very Vermont to me.
What’s your go-to order? Do you just like a classic burger build or something more out there?
I throw a fried egg on that fucker. I put a fried egg on it, a little jalapeno. The problem is I feel like burgers, when you put that much stuff on, it just becomes so messy. That’s kind of part of the experience. Your hands are covered in egg sauce and aioli and you just kind of feel gross for a couple minutes afterwards. But it’s so good and they have really good truffle fries too, and they have this spicy, I don’t know if it’s a spicy honey mustard, some kind of spicy aioli sauce. That’s so good. And I’ve tried to recreate it at home and it is not nearly as good.
What about bars in Vermont? What’s the go-to watering hole for you?
I actually spent a lot more time in Vermont bars as a kid because I was doing open mic nights that were all over bars in Vermont and New Hampshire. The most jovial, fun Vermont scene bar I’ve been to is Skunk Hollow Tavern. It’s just an awesome tiny little bar. There’s really barely enough room to walk around, it’s really tight in there, but it’s such a perfect Vermont atmosphere. They do a lot of live music and there’s just so much beer and so many great drinks available and it’s in a really pretty part of town. My other favorite place would probably have to be, well, EBA’s was my favorite place growing up. Everything But Anchovies in Hanover, New Hampshire but unfortunately it closed down. That was an amazing bar.
It was owned by a lovely family and they had great pizza and great food and my best friend’s parents owned the place and I would know everyone working there. And it was a really special place. And another great example of small business leaving town and really affecting where we would go. That was such a huge part of our lives. You go to the high school football game and get drunk and then go to EBA’s afterwards and hang out with all your friends from high school until 2:00 A.M. until your parents realized that you were not home yet.
There’s so many stories associated with these places in my childhood.
Another great one is Jesse’s in Hanover, New Hampshire, kind of close to Lebanon New Hampshire. And it’s just an amazing, amazing place. It has great seafood and steaks, but it’s also has the best open mic nights. You’ll see really, really talented artists go there. And I’ll go there every Thursday with my mom and we play Jesse’s and the host and I would grab a baked potato and then I’d get home. And I don’t know, I feel like a lot of my love for small business is nostalgic, but I think that’s great about small businesses is they kind of create memories for you. You don’t have nostalgic memories of Chipotle.
Would you say those open mic places are the best place to catch a show in Vermont and the surrounding area? Where do people go who are looking for music?
I would say if you’re looking to go see a bigger artist coming through Vermont, then you’re going to want to go over to Burlington, Vermont to go to Higher Ground. Lots of great artists pass through Higher Ground. I think I probably played it like 100 times. I sold the most tickets in history there, I think are the most sold out shows in a row. And it was really cool because when I was younger, I would go there for the Vermont singer-songwriter competitions and lose every year. So being able to go back and break the venue record for sold out shows was a real full circle moment.
But if you want to go see a show in Hanover, there’s a Lebanon Opera House in Lebanon, New Hampshire that I saw my first ever show at, Great Big Sea at the Lebanon Opera house. It must’ve been like 2004. That’s another great place to see music.
Gosh, there’s that place but also Sawtooth in Hanover, New Hampshire has an underground bar with a little music stage. You can catch some really talented local acts, whether they’re from Hanover, from Dartmouth College, there’s great music there too. So I’d recommend any of those three places.
What do you think people overlook the most about Vermont?
I think people probably assume it’s just a beautiful place for seeing leaves change and maybe skiing, but there’s so much. Not only just nature, obviously there’s great fishing and great hiking and great cross-country skiing, bird watching, all these beautiful natural elements. But like I said, they have great food. They have Ben and Jerry’s, we’ve got Cabot cheese. If you look and you’re willing to drive 45 minutes out of your way, you can find some of the best food you’ll have in your life.
What’s the plan for 2025?
2025 is going to be about making my next record, getting into new music. We have a few shows, but I’m really taking time to explore what’s next for me musically. And it’s a lot more work than I remember, sitting down and making records. We’re in the midst of doing that again and it’s a fun challenge. It’s hard, but after two and a half years in the road, I’m really excited to explore myself a little bit. I feel like I stopped doing that for a while and it’s a really cool opportunity to remember who I am and get back to doing what I think I do the best, which is write songs.
What’s inspiring you right now?
That’s a good question. I really think just sitting in what I’m feeling is inspiring me in a weird way. I am inspired by actually experiencing life, and that’s even the most mundane shit, like just stressing about bills or going to the grocery store or having family come visit. These things that I never got to do for the past two and a half years with this album. Doing what I did, it just forced me to travel so much. So just getting to deal with the situational every day, life experience has been really, really inspiring. And also thinking a lot about my childhood and my friendships and what it’s like growing up in Vermont and living the life that I did and trying to dig deeper into that.
I feel like I’m not done with New England, that I’m not done with where I’m from, and there’s a lot more to explore there. So kind of continuing to explore childhood Vermont, but also just life.
Just before I let you go, do you have a pick for your personal album of the year? It doesn’t have to have been released this year, just something that you can’t bring your ear away from.
Oh yeah, great question. Son of Dad by Stephen Wilson Jr. is a pretty spectacular album.

Bambi is celebrating her new relationship, and her man seems like he’s also in it for the long run. Moreover, they recently shared a video of him giving her a promise ring, which was a very wholesome moment and one that sparked a lot of romantic debate in the comments section of the Instagram post below. However, it was also a moment of catharsis and clapping back for the Love & Hip Hop alum, or at least, that’s what she could have seen it as. If you didn’t hear, her ex husband Lil Scrappy recently said that he doesn’t even like her.
“I just do not like her. That’s the difference,” Lil Scrappy said of Bambi on social media, clarifying that he wouldn’t go as far as to “hate” her since his dislike is not that deep. “Hate is a strong word, strong word. I just don’t even have the energy for that s**t anymore. It’s about getting money and taking care of them kids, man. I don’t even look that way. I just keep moving, get my money. Do what I’ve been trying to do for the longest, like, I’m doing it.”
But this is all pretty ironic because, for the most part, Bambi doesn’t really stoop to Lil Scrappy’s level when talking about their relationship. For example, when he announced he’s expecting another child with another woman, she seemed to respond with the announcement of her new children’s book. “A New Baby For Us” is about a group of siblings learning about how one of their parents will bring them one more sibling. Sounds kind of familiar, doesn’t it?
Regardless, as Lil Scrappy celebrates his new phase of life, Bambi is busy celebrating hers with a new man. We wonder how else their paths could overlap, as their coparenting relationship definitely faced some ups and downs in the two years or so since their split. Hopefully they can navigate these new eras respectfully and amicably, and without putting each other down too much. You don’t want to cause more drama, especially when you have kids to take care of and other potential partners to worry about.
Cardi B might be going through a nasty split with Offset, but they still seem committed to coparenting their three kids together. Six-year-old daughter Kulture and three-year-old son Wave are almost done with their school year, and Cardi has to go to some parent-teacher conferences. On Thursday (November 21), she took to her Instagram Story to post about how she wants to keep her kids in line before these meetings, presumably to also set a good example for her and ‘Set’s two-month-old baby girl. “I better hear some good s**t or else,” the Bronx femcee warned about Kulture and Wave in school.
“iPads will be broken, phones will be thrown in the garbage, TVs will be disconnected, cables will be turned off. I am not playing. I am that type of mom,” Cardi B remarked. However, she clarified that she was just playing around, even if she really does care a lot about how her kids perform and behave at school. The 32-year-old just wanted to hear good news from their teachers. And she’s got to make sure that her little baby girl learns that from the jump, too…
Sadly, other recent Cardi B updates are more disappointing, such as a limbo-continuing update on her highly anticipated sophomore album. “I’ve been feeling so emotional lately,” she told her Instagram Live viewers. “Because I know next year is going to be my f***ing year. This has been the most weirdest year I have ever experienced. I don’t know what the f**k happened this year, I can’t even tell you. […] [I] fell in love.
“Then fell out of love, then got a divorce,” Cardi B continued. “[…] I don’t know what the f**k is going on. I’m going through a very different transition in my f***ing life and life is moving a little bit too fast. I don’t want to crash. I have to get my s**t together. Next year, my album will be out, my secret businesses will be out. I can’t tell you what I’m working on. Hopefully next year I get me a little boyfriend. I’m h*e-less right now. I gotta get my s**t together.”
Diddy’s children – Quincy Jones, Justin, Christian “King,” Chance, and twins D’Lila and Jessie Combs – accompanied their grandmother Janice Combs to his bail hearing on Friday (November 22) in Manhattan federal court. He reportedly entered the courtroom at around 2PM local time, and blew kisses in the direction of his family in addition to smiles and waves. This is for Sean Combs’ third official attempt at securing bail in his federal case for alleged sex trafficking and racketeering. The proposed package totals $50 million, the same amount that the court already denied during the defense’s second attempt. However, this new bail package is reportedly more robust and also adds more regulations and requirements.
Still, the breadth of that bail package doesn’t take away from how Diddy’s prosecutors and his defense team have launched damning allegations at one another. Basically, both sides allege that the other seeks to derail the case, manipulate it for their own gain, and take advantage of public spectacle and pressure to do so. In the prosecution’s case, they claim that the Bad Boy mogul sought to tamper with witnesses and illegally exploit other resources at his disposal. In the defense’s case, they allege that prosecutors tampered with evidence and also provided misleading “proof” to build their case.
Both sides’ stories are all just allegations, though, and this bail hearing will probably result in a more direct and final answer for Diddy that hopefully errs on the side of caution and corrects or condemns any mistakes that both sides of the court might have made. Interestingly enough, though, his case continues to draw up more media attention from folks who hadn’t spoken on it already. Kendrick Lamarseemed to reference this scandal on his surprise new album, GNX.
Meanwhile, the lawyer representing many alleged Diddy victims recently faced some assault allegations of his own, so Tony Buzbee has a lot more on his plate now. This case will continue to complicate itself in the search for justice, and it’s important to remain patient, focus on the facts, and ensure that everyone maintains their rights and doesn’t fall victim to careless legal scrutiny.
