Megan Thee Stallion Wants Ex-Cameraman’s Legal Team To Pay For Missing Court

Earlier this year, Megan Thee Stallion’s former cameraman Emilio Garcia hit her with some shocking allegations. He sued the “Hiss” performer for alleged harassment, creating a hostile work environment, and more. In Garcia’s suit, he accuses Meg of sleeping with a woman in front of him, fat-shaming him, and more. According to NBC News, he’s seeking six figures in allegedly “unpaid wages, as well as interest on the unpaid wages, unpaid overtime wages and other employee benefits at the legal rate.”

This week, journalist Meghann Cuniff reported that lawyers representing Garcia failed to show up for a pre-trial conference in Manhattan. This means they could be sanctioned. The judge also reportedly issued an order asking them to explain why they shouldn’t be. Now, per a new post by Cuniff on X, Meg’s team wants him sanctioned $6K. Moreover, they’re asking that the lawsuit be dismissed without prejudice and refiled once Garcia’s lawyer finds counsel in New York.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Team Responds To Ex-Cameraman’s Lawyers Missing Pre-Trial Conference

Reportedly, the next pre-trial conference is scheduled for November 18. Garcia’s allegations are far from the only ones Meg’s been hit with throughout her career, however. Earlier this month, for example, Jason Lee accused her of getting into a fight with Winnie Harlow at one of Michael Rubin’s white parties. Loren Lorosa later alleged that this had something to do with Tory Lanez, who famously shot Meg in the foot in 2020.

This all started Because Winnie is Canadian she posted something about Tory Lanez on social in the midst of the Meg x Tory shooting trial stuff .. which Meg allegedly took issue with,” she alleged. “Meg and Winnie allegedly get into a verbal Altercation, I’m told Meg allegedly approached Winnie about the post but tons of people there broke it up BEFORE an actual fight could really happened. .. my person who was there alleges.. Meg was going off & yelling at Winnie ‘I should beat your a**.’”

Kanye West Accused Of Having Sex With Bianca Censori During Work Meetings In New Lawsuit

Kanye West is the subject of various lawsuits, whether it’s for copyright infringement or for other, more sinister allegations. Moreover, according to legal documents reportedly obtained by TMZ, Ye’s alleged former project manager Murphy Aficionado is suing him for discrimination, retaliation, unpaid wages, and hostile work environment. Aficionado’s claims are that the Yeezy mogul was a terrible boss, and that he engaged in antisemitism and inappropriate behavior with Bianca Censori during work meetings. He alleges that the Chicago artist told him to go to a Beverly Hills hotel room he was at in November of 2022, which is where his allegations begin.

Furthermore, Murphy Aficionado claims that when he arrived to the room, Kanye West was out of breath with his pants unbuttoned, and that Bianca Censori was topless and covering her breasts with their hands. As such, he alleges that it was obvious that they were having sex. Also, Aficionado put forth the allegation that Ye called conservative commentator Candace Owens’ lawyer “a Jewish spy” and that he instructed him to wait and not leave while he went to the room that Bianca was in. The alleged former project manager claims that he heard “loud moaning and clapping” within seconds, pointing to them having sex again.

According to Murphy Aficionado’s allegations, Kanye West then emerged ten minutes later with a T-shirt with a swastika on it. “Don’t you like my shirt?” he allegedly asked Aficionado. The plaintiff – whose lawsuit reportedly emerged on Thursday (November 14) via a filing from his attorney William Reed – alleged that Ye then sat down to show him nude pictures of Kim Kardashian. In addition, Aficionado alleged that the “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” creative called him later in the week for another work meeting at a hotel room.

This time around, Murphy Aficionado alleges, Kanye West was with a famous wide receiver in the NFL, and they were only wearing towels around their waists for a massage. Allegedly, Aficionado waited due to Ye’s orders and had to listen to “clapping and moaning” from the room in which he was with the masseuse. He also alleged that he had to do the same thing when the alleged NFL player went in once Kanye left the room. He allegedly fired Aficionado last year. This is the latest legal move against the 47-year-old amid other harrowing accusations that haven’t been confirmed or denied by a court of law at press time.

LeBron James & Netflix Hit With New Lawsuit For Alleged Script Stealing

A filmmaker recently hit LeBron James, his production company, and Netflix with a 25-page lawsuit. The filmmaker, Rob Grabow, accuses them of stealing one of his scripts for one of their new basketball films. According to TMZ, Grabow alleges that he wrote a script for a film called The Gift of the Game. Reportedly, it was about a Native American high school basketball player trying to carry his team to a state title.

Grabow describes it as “a powerful basketball film that deals with issues of community, race relations and poverty.” He also alleges that he shared it with people close to Netflix, James, and his production company. Eventually, Grabow alleges that they used his ideas for their own film Rez Ball, which was released in September of this year.

Grabow cites various alleged similarities between The Gift of the Game and Rez Ball. This includes the ending when the protagonist is fouled during the championship game. “There are numerous substantially and strikingly similar concrete and expressive elements in the two works’ plot, theme, dialogue, mood, setting, pace, characters and sequence of events,” the lawsuit alleges. Grabow also alleges that Rez Ball is more similar to his screenplay than it is to the book of the same name, which it was supposedly inspired by. He’s suing for alleged copyright infringement, breach of contract, and more and seeking unspecified damages.

This isn’t the first lawsuit LeBron James has been hit with in recent weeks, however. In October, the athlete and his son Bronny were sued over their alleged involvement in a 2022 car accident. Two ladies accuse the father-son duo of hitting their vehicle on the highway, allegedly causing them injuries and damaging their vehicle. They’re also seeking unspecified damages.

Opposing Lawyer Says Kanye West “Has Attention Span Of A Goldfish” As Ye Struggles To Find New Representation

The lawsuits stemming from Kanye West’s Donda Academy continue to lay at his feet. According to a new report from AllHipHop, things could wind up getting worse for the rapper, as a default judgment is seriously on the table. In particular, this relates to the more recent suit filed by Isaiah Meadows. The former assistant principal at the Academy has been seeking a default one anyway, but this seems like more a possibility. That’s all thanks to Kanye West severely struggling to find a lawyer to represent him in court.

Judge Christopher Lui, who’s presiding over this case, stated in a hearing yesterday, “This can’t continue forever. If a substitute counsel is going to come in, it has to be done quickly.” This came after Manoj Shah, Ye’s attorney, said, “We are trying in vain to retain counsel. We are interviewing several firms. For one reason or another, it has failed to work out. Our goal is to have counsel and participate in the defense.”

Kanye West Could Face A Default Judgment

Rumblings within this ongoing court battle are that Kanye continues to fire or not pay the people attempting to make his case. If the VULTURES MC cannot settle on one, then Judge Lui says he will enter default judgment. Ron Zambrano, who’s been fighting for other former Donda Academy employees as well as Meadows, feels that he knows what the final result will be. “It’s an odd situation. This is the first time we’ve heard there’s an attorney representing [West’s] interests,” Zambrano told Courthouse News.

“Whoever the next attorney is, there’s a long history of people not getting paid by Kanye West, which is part of the problem. But we’re gonna move forward. He’s going to have to pay attention to this case somehow.” However, his critique didn’t stop there as Zambrano made a quip as to why it’s difficult for Ye to secure a lawyer. “I just think that sometimes he has the attention span of a goldfish.” As it stands, there’s no concrete timetable for how much longer he has, but it sounds like patience is running thin.

Megan Thee Stallion Could Score Legal Win After Opposing Lawyers Miss The Mark

Megan Thee Stallion continues to face a lawsuit for alleged harassment from her former photographer Emilio Garcia, but she might find a win within it soon. According to journalist Meghann Cuniff, lawyers representing Garcia didn’t attend a pre-trial conference in Manhattan federal court last week, and thus could face possible sanctions. In fact, the judge reportedly issued an order for them to explain why they shouldn’t face these sanctions via a legal filing by tomorrow (Tuesday, November 12). The next pre-trial conference will reportedly take place on November 18 in Manhattan federal court, and all parties (including the defense) must appear.

Furthermore, the court stated that the plaintiff’s legal team did not motion to adjourn the conference before its scheduled time. Of course, none of this means that Megan Thee Stallion will automatically beat this alleged harassment case, but it could pose serious consequences for her opposition. This follows some other online narratives that have spread about the Houston femcee. One of them is Jason Lee’s allegations that she fought Winnie Harlow at a Michael Rubin party. But some of these narratives also cross over into the legal realm.

Megan Thee Stallion Harassment Lawsuit Gets Crucial Update

Undeniably, the main one that comes to mind is the conviction of Tory Lanez for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, which remains a highly controversial matter. There are still a lot of conflicting narratives around his appeal, her assessments of the situation, and other details that came about during the trial. Sadly, we seem no closer to detoxifying that discussion and focusing on the facts above all else, and so every motion for appeal or response to it carries some backlash. Also, it doesn’t seem like Meg became distracted with all the ruckus, as she remains committed to upholding the truth and justice in her eyes.

Another legal matter that Megan Thee Stallion hopes to dismiss quickly is a lawsuit alleging copyright infringement from Plies. It concerns his track “Me & My Goons” and her GloRilla collab (and eventual Cardi B remix) “Wanna Be.” We’ll see what updates emerge in the near future concerning these varied legal matters, especially considering their differing implications, jurisdictions, and severities.

Harve Pierre Wants Dawn Richard’s Lawsuit Against Him & Diddy Thrown Out

Harve Pierre wants Dawn Richard’s recent lawsuit against himself and Diddy thrown out, according to his lawyer, Scott E. Leemon. In documents caught by AllHipHop, he argued that an amendment to the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Act (GMVL) doesn’t apply in this case, among other complaints. In the lawsuit, Richard referenced an incident that allegedly occurred at a Manhattan recording studio in December 2010, in which she alleges Diddy’s bodyguard forcibly detained her inside a car for several hours before Pierre eventually allowed her to be released.

“New York State has a one-year statute of limitations for claims like these,” Leemon said. “Even if the claims were timely, they lack the necessary evidence suggesting that Pierre was involved in any tortious act.” The lawsuit also cites the alleged breaking of an agreement between Richard and Pierre, to which Leemon added: “There is no allegation of any contractual obligation between the parties.”

He also addressed allegations of fraud. “The complaint’s vague and undifferentiated allegations of fraud against all defendants fail to meet the specificity standards required in such cases,” Leemon remarked. “… The complaint fails on several grounds, and we are optimistic that Mr. Pierre will be cleared.”

As for the rest of the lawsuit, Richard also alleges Diddy, “manipulated her with mantras that submission to his depraved demands was necessary for career advancement, instilling in her the belief that such abuse and exploitation were required for female artists to succeed in the music industry.” Diddy has already denied all of the allegations he’s faced over the last year. Kanye West Reportedly Misses Deposition In Lawsuit Over Alleged Racial Discrimination

Earlier this year, Kanye West was hit with a lawsuit by former Donda Academy and Yeezy employee Benjamin Deshon Provo. Provo, an ex-security guard, accuses Ye of racial bias and improper workplace behavior. “Kanye and members of his management team subjected Provo and other black employees to less favorable treatment than their white counterparts,” the lawsuit alleges. “Specifically, Kanye frequently screamed at and berated black employees, while in contrast, he never so much as raised his tone of voice toward white staff.”

According to AllHipHop, Ye was scheduled to provide a deposition last week but did not show up. Reportedly, Provo’s team informed Ye of the deposition this month and has not heard back about rescheduling. They’re stressing the urgency of the situation, arguing that Ye’s deposition is necessary for them to prepare for trial.

“It is crucial that Provo’s counsel obtain this deposition in a timely manner to ascertain all relevant, pertinent facts in this case to allow Provo to fully prosecute his claims and prepare for trial,” they explained. They’re seeking an order to compel Ye to appear for questioning. A February hearing has been scheduled to address the situation. They’re also asking for $1,760 in compensation for West’s failure to attend the deposition.

Reports of Ye missing his deposition come just days after it was revealed that Ye settled a class action lawsuit over allegedly unpaid wages to Yeezy employees. According to Baller Alert, he settled for $625K. This will reportedly go to former employees represented by the lawsuit and their legal representation. Plies’ Lawyer Denies Claim That New Lawsuit Is Targeting Black Women

Plies isn’t playing around. The rapper decided to sue a host of superstars on November 6 on the grounds that they unlawfully sampled one of his songs. The superstars named in the copyright infringement suit include Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla and Soulja Boy. Most of the talk surrounding the suit, however, has revolved around Megan and GloRilla. Fans of both artists have flocked to IG comment sections to deride Plies for his perceived attack towards Black women. The backlash has been so severe, in fact, that the rapper’s lawyer has issued a statement.

Aaron J. Thornton assured the public that his client, Plies, has no vendetta against Megan Thee Stallion or GloRilla. He actually wants the labels to pay out, given what he believes is a lack of proper procedure. “This lawsuit isn’t a strategically timed attack against Black women,” Thornton wrote. “Plies has said a lot of meaningful and important things in support of Black women.” The lawyer that posited that the rapper is wanting to be properly compensated by the powers that be. Not the artists who paid tribute to him by allegedly sampling his work.

Plies Claims To Be Fans Of Both Megan And GloRilla

“This is a lawsuit where the first name up who has the actual pockets here is Universal Music Group,” Thornton asserted. “My communication is directed to the record labels, the people who actually own the music.” The lawyer went on to assure fans that Plies has the utmost respect for Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla as artists. “The artists are wonderful artists,” he concluded. “This isn’t an attack on any of these artists.” The lawsuit may have been recently filed, but Plies has already gotten pushback from Megan’s producer, LilJuMadeDaBeat.

Lil Ju made the beat for “Wanna Be,” and he claimed that he actually sampled a Soulja Boy song. “‘My Dougie’ came it in 2006, ‘Me & My Goons’ came in in 2008,” the producer tweeted. “Big E the producer of ‘My Dougie’ credited on ‘Wanna Be.’” LilJuMadeDaBeat’s claim regarding the release dates of these respective songs does call into question the validity of Plies’ claim. The rapper has yet to respond to Lil Ju, however.

Tory Lanez Issues Scathing Response To Woman Suing Him Over Alleged 2021 Car Accident

Tory Lanez continues to be a big name in the headlines over new revelations and discussion over his conviction for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. However, he also has other legal issues to deal with. One of them is a woman named Krishna Grullon’s 2022 lawsuit over an alleged 2021 car accident in which she accused the Canadian artist of sideswiping her vehicle. She was reportedly four months pregnant at the time and alleged that he did not “maintain a proper lookout,” “yield,” “obey a traffic signal,” or “use due car.” Also, Grullon claims that Lanez never left his vehicle, and wants to make him accountable for the “pain and suffering, loss of past wages, loss of future earning capacity, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life” that she claims the crash caused.

However, the Lost Tapes artist alleged his innocence back in 2022 and continues to do so via his legal team. They claim that he was never in any sort of accident. Now, according to an In Touch report, a court motion filed on Tory Lanez’s behalf alleged that Krishna Grullon stalled and continues to stall her release of her medical records to his team. As such, he reportedly seeks to convince a judge to force her to hand these records over.

Tory Lanez Responds To Alleged Car Accident Lawsuit

Nevertheless, Krishna Grullon and her family member Jesse, who was in the passenger seat at the time, are suing Tory Lanez for damages, which remain undisclosed at press time. In addition, as of writing this article, the judge in this case has not yet offered a ruling on this motion. Elsewhere, his legal team continues to fight for an appeal in the Megan Thee Stallion case, an attempt that the court has yet to make a decisive ruling on.

Other legal actions regarding Tory Lanez, though, have nothing to do with the Canadian musician himself. For example, Megan Thee Stallion recently sued YouTuber Milagro Gramz for the alleged spread of misinformation regarding that shooting case. We will see how that particular legal battle ends up. As for Krishna Grullon’s situation, we will also have to wait and see.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Producer Claps Back At Plies Copyright Lawsuit

The world may be processing the U.S. election, but Plies is filing lawsuits. The veteran rapper made waves on November 6 when he sued Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla and Soulja Boy. He alleged that the artists stole elements of his 2008 song “Me & My Goons” without clearing it with him. Plies is seeking damages for this alleged copyright infringement, which also names Megan Thee Stallion’s label Hot Girl Productions and Soulja’s Collipark Productions. Now, however, Megan’s producer is firing back at the rapper.

LilJuMadeDaBeat, the producer behind the Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla song at the heart of the lawsuit, took to social media on Wednesday night. He claimed that “Wanna Be,” the song in question, properly credits its sample to Big E. Lil Ju noted that Plies’ song came out in 2008, while “My Dougie,” the Soulja Boy song also named in the suit, came out in 2006. The producer claims that the original of the song elements is actually Big E, the man who produced Soulja’s single. “‘My Dougie’ came it in 2006, ‘Me & My Goons’ came in in 2008,” he tweeted. “Big E the producer of ‘My Dougie’ credited on ‘Wanna Be.’”

Lil Ju took things a step further by poking additional holes in Plies’ lawsuit. Megan Thee Stallion’s producer noted that Soulja Boy’s “Pretty Boy Swag” is also a remake of “My Dougie.” He also claimed the Plies song in question doesn’t even derive from the album Plies said it did. “‘Me & My Goons literally not even the single from that Plies album,” he posited. The producer raises some compelling points, in so much as Plies couldn’t sue Soulja Boy if Soulja’s song came out before his. Furthermore, Lil Ju appears to be confident that he covered his bases in terms of his own sample credits.

It makes sense that Plies would want a chunk of “Wanna Be,” however. The single was everywhere when it dropped in April. It peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it GloRilla’s biggest single as a lead artist to date. It also proved to be another smash for Megan Thee Stallion after “HISS” topped the charts in January. The song even received a remix featuring Cardi B.
