Everybody From The Joker To Nikola Jokic Is Now Lil Yachty Thanks To A New AI-Fueled Meme

In recent days, a new meme has started to surface, and it turns out that Lil Yachty is at the root of it.

As Know Your Meme notes, Yachty performed at the Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash concert in 2021, and a clip of his energetic walk out to the stage has racked up over 4.5 million views on YouTube since it was uploaded on June 2022. Here’s that video:

The unmodified video started to be used as a reaction meme here and there, but it has found new life this April, after a post from X (formerly Twitter) account @AIWarper generated some attention. The tweet includes the video, but modified, using a tool called Viggle AI, to replace Yachty with Joaquin Phoenix’s portrayal of the Joker.

From there, other examples have been shared online, including some featuring disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, NBA star Nikola Jokic, and King Of The Hill character Hank Hill.

A version featuring New York Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau has gone viral in the sports world, so much so that Thibodeau was asked about it in a recent press conference. He revealed that he was originally showed the clip by one of his players, Mitchell Robinson, and that he thought Robinson himself made the video.

Fousey Dresses As The Joker Ahead Of Return To Streaming

Fousey is someone who is always making headlines, one way or another. For those who do not know, he is a content creator who was known for making pranks. Over the years, he gained prominence and was one of the biggest names in the YouTube space. However, in 2018, things went awry due to his July 15th event. Subsequently, he went away for a while, only to come up and go away on a periodic basis. Most recently, he became a streamer who then went on to have a manic episode, leading to his hospitalization.

This has happened to Fousey before, but he has not learned from these lessons. Instead, he is being enabled by those who stand to make money from him. As it turns out, he plans to return to streaming very soon. He is even making some sort of promotional video to usher in this new era. As you can see in the post below from DJ Akademiks, the streamer was dressed up as the nurse version of the Joker from The Dark Knight. Clearly, he is cooking up something interesting.

For a lot of people, the entire Fousey arc is one that is not worth watching all over again. At the end of the day, it was like watching a trainwreck every time he went live. Diddy Wears Batman Costume After Getting In Trademark Trouble For Joker Outfit

Diddy trolled Warner Bros. on Halloween by wearing a Batman costume after the company asked him not to dress up as the Joker. In a video on Instagram, he explained that the studio claimed he was “breaching the trademark.”

“Breaking Halloween news,” he said in the video. “Last year after I did the Black Joker, I got a bunch of emails from the studios telling me to not be the Joker anymore, that I was breaching the trademark. So I don’t know what I’m gonna be this year. But I will say, to the motherf*cker that took all this time, we talking about sending me six full papers — I’m not even gon’ show the business on the papers — but to tell me not to be the Joker, I wanna tell you, you win. I’m not gon’ be the Joker this year, just because your ass had enough time to fuck up my motherf*cking Halloween.”

It’s not the first time Diddy has referenced getting in trouble for last year’s Joker costume. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, earlier this week, he showed off a letter he received from Warner Bros. “Last year I was the Joker, and I actually got a letter from the studio that I can no longer be the Joker because they said it broke their trademark that I did it too good, I swear,” he said. “I have this letter from Warner Bros. Tomorrow, Warner Bros. lawyers, can you see me? Put this camera on me right here. Head of legal, tomorrow, watch what I do.”

Diddy had the internet talking last Halloween with his spot-on Joker costume, which pulled inspiration from Heath Ledger’s version in The Dark Knight. However, when the mogul and musician sat down with Jimmy Kimmel recently, he revealed that not everyone might have been pleased by it.

“Last year, I was the Joker, and I actually got a letter from the studio that I can no longer be the Joker,” Diddy shared.

“They said it broke their trademark, that I did it too good,” he added. “I swear I have this letter. I swear to God. From Warner Bros.”

In the segment, Kimmel then encourages Diddy to wear the same costume again for Halloween — especially since the interview was done on October 30, and he wasn’t sure what to wear.

“So tomorrow… Warner Bros. lawyers, can you see me?” Diddy proceeded to joke. “Put this camera on right here. The head of legal: Tomorrow, watch what I do.”

Over on Instagram, Diddy then made a post, where he seemed to be holding the legal papers he received as proof. “I don’t know what I’m gonna be this year, but I will say, to the motherf*ckers who took all this time,” he said in the video. “This six full papers.”

Then, in a hilarious move, if he was actually threatened with legal action, Diddy isn’t scared — because he dressed up as Batman from the same movie this year.

Last Halloween, Diddy had easily one of the year’s best costumes with his phenomenally executed Joker look. It appears Warner Bros. didn’t like that and actually forbade Diddy from wearing the costume again, but he still managed to stick it to the studio this year.

Diddy was a Jimmy Kimmel Live! guest on October 30 and at the end of the conversation, when the host asked what he was planning to be for Halloween this year, the rapper responded, “Last year, I was the Joker, and I actually got a letter from the studio that I can no longer be the Joker.” Kimmel asked why and Diddy continued, “They said it broke their trademark, that I did it too good. I swear I have this letter. I swear to God. From Warner Bros.”

Kimmel, forever stirring the pot, responded, “Well do it again, then. Do it again!” Diddy leaned into it, declaring, “So tomorrow… Warner Bros. lawyers, can you see me? Put this camera on right here. The head of legal: Tomorrow, watch what I do.”

After the show, Diddy took to Instagram to expand on the story, holding the papers he supposedly received from Warner Bros. “I don’t know what I’m going to be this year,” he said, later adding, “You win, I’m not going to be the Joker this year.” At the end, though, the video teased, “Stay tuned.”

Now, this morning, Diddy made his grand reveal. True to his word, he didn’t dress up as the Joker, but he kept his costume in the same universe, sharing a scripted, high-production-level video of himself as, who else, Batman (“The Darkest Knight,” as he called his version). In the video, Diddy’s Batman confronts a studio executive in his office and demands they end the ongoing actors strike.

In conclusion, Diddy has mastered the art of malicious compliance.

According to Diddy, the issue arose when he wore an extraordinarily convincing Joker costume for Halloween the previous year. His impersonation was so spot-on that it allegedly infringed on Warner Bros.’ trademark of the character. Diddy, seemingly amused and perplexed by the situation, mentioned on the show, “Last year I was the Joker, and I actually got a letter from the studio that I can no longer be the Joker because they said it broke their trademark that I did it too good, I swear. I have this letter from Warner Brothers.”

Lady Gaga As Harley Quinn In “Joker: Folie À Deux,” First Look

Todd Phillips, the director of Joker: Folie à Deux has shared an exclusive look at Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix in the film. Phillips captioned the screen grab from the film “Happy Valentines Day” on Instagram, where Gaga also shared the image. The image depicts Gaga as Harley Quinn, looking intently at Phoneix’s Joker. She cups his face as the pair are clearly in a heavy scene. The Joker is complete with his usual clown-like makeup and green hair. The image doesn’t give much indication of the setting of the scene, but it looks dark and seems to have concrete walls– possibly a basement, based on the location of the window.

According to reports, Gaga is playing the newest version of the iconic character from DC Comics, Harley Quinn. Harley Quinn is a psychiatrist who, while working with the Joker, finds herself falling for him. She abandons the normalcy of her life and profession to corroborate with the Joker on his journey as the villain to Batman. Margot Robbie also played Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad films. Kaley Cuoco also voiced the character in HBO Max’s animated series Harley Quinn. Gaga confirmed she would be taking the reigns of the character in the Joker sequel last August. The sequel will be a musical.

In 2019, the original Joker, a film also by Phillips, was met with critical and commercial acclaim. It was the highest-grossing R-rated film in history. It won many awards, including the Golden Lion at the Venice Film festival. The film was also one of the top nominated films at last year’s Academy Awards, receiving 11 nominations. These nominations included best picture, best director, best-adapted screenplay, and more. Joaquin Phoenix won the academy award for best performance by an actor in a leading role. Additionally, Hildur Guðnadóttir won for best achievement in music written for motion pictures (original score).

Joker‘s dramatic success created conversations about sequels almost instantly. DC media’s landscape has shifted drastically since the film’s original release 4 years ago. However, Philips’ Joker has been mostly untouched by DC Studios, which was formed recently. Its co-chiefs, James Gunn and Peter Safran, seem to know not to mess with what isn’t broken. The sequel to Joker, starring Phonix and Gaga, will not be playing a role in the narrative or continuity of other DC films that are being released. Joker: Folie à Deux will in theaters October 9, 2024– the five year anniversary of the first film’s release.
