Adam22 is someone who has garnered a huge fanbase in the hip-hop world. Overall, this is thanks to his various interviews with some of the biggest artists in the underground space. Irv Gotti Says Fat Joe is No Longer His Brother Due to Defense of Ashanti: ‘Fat Joe Called Me a Sucker’

Irv Gotti Says Fat Joe is No Longer His Brother Due to Defense of Ashanti

Irv Gotti returned to Drink Champs, and he had a message for Fat Joe. “Fat Joe was my brother,” Gotti said. “I do not feel Fat Joe is my brother anymore.”

Irv’s statement comes after Fat Joe called our Irv Gotti and Ja Rule for Gotti’s account of a relationship with Ashanti during the Murder Inc docuseries and a previous Drink Champs interview.

The Murder Inc Drink Champs interview has caused ripple effects on social media since it first aired. During the conversation, Irv Gotti revealed he had a sexual relationship with Ashanti, and he also was jealous to see she was dating Nelly.

Seemingly tired of the discourse online and not a fan of how the conversation went, Fat Joe spoke out against Gotti’s statements and called them disrespectful.

“Whatever Irv has with Ashanti is 20 years old,” he said. “I know he was making some points that mean a lot to him but when you keep ranting about somebody 20 years later, it felt like he’s not over the young lady.

“Also, we didn’t know that they was fucking. The whole time, I’m there! ‘What’s Luv,’ Big Pun record, on tour. I never seen them together like that. Now, I’m not saying they wasn’t, they was, or there was rumors they was. I never seen it. But I don’t need to know.”

Fat Joe also mentioned Ja Rule’s presence in the interview, sitting next to Gotti while he aired out private information and called Ashanti out of her name. “Ja Rule was standing right next to him,” Joe said. Ashanti and Ja Rule have recently performed together and collaborated heavily over the years. During the interview, Ja did stop Gotti from using “bitch” when referring to Ashanti and women.

In the latest episode of Drink Champs, Gotti declared the difference between Rule’s statements and Joe’s.

“Once you show me who you are or you speak negatively about me, its over,” Gotti said. “His defense and Ja’s defense is they do shows with Ashanti, but Rule will never come out and say, ‘Gotti’s a sucker.’

“Fat Joe said, ‘Oh, Gotti’s a sucker.’ I gotta pull back and regress from that. Because If I was to go respond or anything with that, it could get crazy. He was on some ‘If I’m your brother I should be able to tell you when you’re wrong.’ My thing is like, you don’t know what went on with me and Ashanti.”

Ja Rule Claims 50 Cent Revealed To Him A Plan To Start Beef To Make It Big

The Ja Rule and 50 Cent beef is more of a universal truth than a developed and escalated feud these days. Sure, they still take shots at each other, but it’s more of a historical fact and troll than true-blue beef these days, although it was certainly that at one point. In fact, before it sprouted, 50 himself allegedly detailed to his fellow New York rapper how he would pick a fight to make it bigger in the industry. During a recent interview with Math Hoffa on the My Expert Opinion podcast, Ja recalled this conversation to the hosts. In his claims, he explained why he can’t support an attitude like that.

“I used to go over to Jam Master Jay’s studio- when he was signed to JMJ because Black Child was over there,” Ja Rule began. “He was also signing to JMJ. So I go over there. Go see my n***a Black. And, you know… I was already on. I had a record deal with my n***as Cash Money Click- so he used to kick it with me.” Then, he alleged that 50 Cent wanted to do a song with him. “I got nothing against him but the record never got done- I’m busy. I’m running around. I’m trying to do things. It’s no slight to nobody. It just didn’t happen.

Ja Rule Claims That 50 Cent Only Beefs To Get A Leg Up In The Game

“We had our first encounter in Atlanta,” Ja Rule remarked. “We had a talk. Uncle Chaz came to me, said, ‘Yo, homie ’bout to pull up. Would you want to have a conversation?’ I said ‘Alright cool, we’ll have a conversation.’ And when we had a conversation- ‘Yo it’s just a record. Ya know I’m just trying to get out there,’” referring to Fif’s disses towards him and Murder Inc. “Chump s**t. Whack s**t. I’m a real artist n***a. I’m a real n***a. This is whack to me, n***a. I don’t give a f**k. If we’re gonna talk about it, let’s talk about it.

“And, I know what n***as is gonna say at home,” he continued. “‘Why are you talking about this thirty years later?’ I don’t want to talk about this. My n***as right here want to talk about this,” he said to the podcast hosts. “To me, that’s not a real artist. That’s not a real man. It’s not a real n***a. You know what I’m saying? To want to pull down other n***as to pull yourself up. That ain’t my style. If you a real n***a, go make your records and shine.” For more on 50 Cent and Ja Rule, stay posted on HNHH.

Ja Rule Blasts 50 Cent For Trolling Him Over Concert Stretcher Stunt

Ja Rule recently had one of the most dramatic and over-the-top entrances to a show that the rap world had seen in a long time. Moreover, to kick off his performance at Nelly’s Hot In Herre Festival, a medical examiner brought the rapper out in a stretcher. After they “resuscitated” him, he began performing through his catalog after declaring he was one of the greatest. Of course, people clowning him online caught the attention of his longtime rival 50 Cent, who wasted no time in making fun of the theatrics. “LOL WTF,” he posted. “I ain’t gotta say s**t st*pid [ninja emoji]’s SMH.”

Furthermore, it seems like the “Blow” MC didn’t appreciate that at all, deciding to focus his response against 50 in particular. On Twitter, he called him out for always looking for chances to instigate their feud, and questioned why he’s always so quick to bash him online. “@50cent You’re like an obsessed side b***h… [laughing emoji],” Ja Rule wrote on the social media platform. “Do me a favor and TAKE MY D**K OUT YOUR MOUTH!!! Pause.” Some things never change, and this feud certainly won’t anytime soon.

Ja Rule Thinks 50 Cent Is Obsessed With Him

That being said, Ja Rule has actually previously expressed that his relationship with 50 Cent isn’t actually as contentious as they make it seem. For one, during an interview with The Shade Room, the 47-year-old posited that, if Fif were to walk in the room, nothing would really happen between the two. Considering that their feud started under much more violent and confrontational circumstances, it seems like social media and performances are their only true arena these days. With that in mind, maybe all that the G-Unit mogul wants to do is poke fun at the idea and keep up some playful sparring with his historic nemesis.

Meanwhile, the Murder Inc. MC recently formed part of a great celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary at the 2023 BET Awards. Alongside a slew of other iconic rappers like Chief Keef, Fat Joe, EPMD, and many more, they represented various rap eras. Ja continues to be a force in the game, even if his veteran status and social media antics are the reason for that these days. Regardless, log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Ja Rule and 50 Cent.

50 Cent Just Couldn’t Miss Out On Clowning Ja Rule For His ‘Stupid’ Entrance To Nelly’s Hot In Herre Festival

The long-simmering animosity between 50 Cent and Ja Rule peaked nearly 20 years ago, but that hasn’t stopped the former from stoking the embers from time to time. He got his latest opportunity this week thanks to Ja’s dramatic entrance ahead of his set at Nelly’s Not in Herre Festival in Toronto. After Ja was brought onto the stage on a stretcher accompanied by EMTs, 50 jumped on the chance to once again troll his longtime foe.

On his own Instagram, 50 shared a screenshot of a prior stretcher entrance by R&B singer Ginuwine from an old episode of BET’s 106 & Park, pairing it with a XXL headline about Ja’s entrance. In the caption, he wrote, “WTF. I ain’t gotta say shit, stupid n****s,” replacing the N-word with a ninja emoji — a popular replacement online for those in the know. You can check out 50’s post — and Ginuwine’s old performance — below.

Meanwhile, Ja Rule appeared to respond on Twitter, writing, “All this back and forth on the internet n**** we don’t tennis that… YOU GOTTA DO SOMETHING!!!” and insinuating that he lives in 50’s head “rent free.” In case there was any doubt about the addressee, he later retweeted a fan’s response which read, “50 Cent is obsessed with Ja from 1999. It’s like he’s mad cuz he never be part of the big Def Jam 99 Area, he went after every big Name from Jay-Z to Nas. And now he constantly try to Mock Ja rule and MurderInc. For Me the only reason why he can’t get over it, it’s FEAR.”

Considering where both ended up, I don’t know how seriously we can take that theory, but it is a little funny/sad that 50’s maintained a mostly one-sided 20-year grievance in which most observers would call him the winner. Ja even gets trolled by totally neutral parties, so it isn’t like it’s a fair fight at this point. But 50’s gonna 50, so the best move for Ja is maybe to just ignore him and keep plugging away.

Ja Rule Reveals He Declined Fast And Furious Role Because He Was Making More Money At The Time

ja

Rapper Ja Rule played the role of Edwin in the original 2001 Fast and Furious movie. His character unfortunately didn’t reappear in 2 Fast 2 Furious or any of the various sequels that followed it and Ja Rule is revealing it was about money. However, things could’ve been different if the Grammy nominee had stayed on for the sequels. His character  was ultimately  replaced by franchise staple Tej Parker, played by Ludacris. Almost two decades later, the rapper is explaining why he turned down the opportunity and revealed whether or not he regrets it.

The billboard charting rapper was offered the chance to be a lead role in the 2003 sequel alongside Paul Walker and Tyrese. During that time, he was dominating the music charts with hits like “Always on Time” and “Livin’ It Up.” During an interview with Insider, Ja reveals how money played a role in his decision to choose music over the blockbuster franchise:

“I was probably the biggest artist in the rap game. I’ll propose this to you: I’m John Singleton. I’m gonna offer you $500,000 to shoot a movie for three months. Or I’m going on a tour and I’m gonna make close to $15 million in the span of less than two months. Well, what you doing? Who knew that there was going to be 10 of them? But even still, I would’ve had to do 10 movies to make that kind of money, or at least eight.”

Despite the franchise going on to become a huge success, Ja doesn’t regret his decision.

“I don’t at all. Everybody has become the Monday morning quarterback: ‘He missed out on doing 10 ‘Fast & Furious’ movies.’ That’s okay. I’m fine with that. I’m Ja Rule, the amazing artist that has had an amazing career, an amazing songwriter. That’s who I am. That’s who people see me as. That’s who I want to be revered as.”

Today In Hip Hop History: Ja Rule Dropped His ‘Venni Vetti Vecci’ Album 24 Years Ago

tumblr c23585bdab347f803d8857e8f0f257b0 0b5587ea 1280

On this day in Hip Hop history, Queens rapper Ja Rule released his debut LP Venni Vetti Vicci. As the first release ofrom Irv Gotti‘s Murder Inc. record label, this project carried a lot of weight on its shoulders as the breakthrough for not only Ja Rule’s career but the career and integrity of Murder Inc Records as a whole.

Fortunately enough, the album was a hit and launched Ja Rule and Murder Inc. up among the ranks of some of New York’s most respected and successful rappers. Ja Rule’s force, style, and energy blended perfectly with and help grow the popularity of the East Coast hardcore movement that was taking place in the late 90s and early 2000s.

The mix of high energy, club jam production and hardcore gangster lyricism is what made this album so appealing. Although it could be said that Ja Rule wasn’t the greatest with the pen, the party appeal of this project kept it flying off the shelves in record stores across the country. The album’s commercial reception was more than any one could ask for a debut album peaking at #1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop chart and #3 on the Billboard 200 chart all while going platinum in the year of its release.

Ashanti’s Best Hip Hop Collabs: Ja Rule, Fat Joe, & More

Ashanti Is best known for her R&B classics and Hip Hop collaborations. It’s no wonder she was crowned “The Princess of Hip Hop and R&B” so early in her career. After her eponymous debut album was released in 2002, she became a global sensation. Her debut single, “Foolish,” topped the Billboard Hot 100 and announced her presence with a bang. From then on, Ashanti successfully became the go-to singer for Hip Hop collabs. She has since been featured on a number of tracks by some of the biggest rappers around.

Ashanti has partnered with many celebrities as a singer and songwriter. In 2022, her efforts were further crowned with a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She remains one of the most influential musical artists of all time. Additionally, Ashanti’s Hip Hop collabs also helped popularize the rapper and singer duo. Her longtime partnerships with Ja Rule, and features on tracks by Fat Joe, Plies, and more, have made her a Hip Hop darling.

With over two decades of success, Ashanti’s career is quite enviable. Like many other musicians, she also made a reasonably notable crossover into acting. Her most famous roles are in John Tucker Must Die and Army Wives. She held the 2000s down as a singer with several notable Hip Hop collabs.

“Always On Time” (2001)

“Always on Time” is unarguably one of the most successful songs of the 2000s. The 2001 single is one of many timeless Hip Hop collabs by Ja Rule and Ashanti. “Always on Time” was released as the second single from Ja Rule’s third album, Pain is Love. “Always on Time” further reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100, marking Ashanti’s first No. 1 song. It also put the singer on the map ahead of her mega-successful debut single “Foolish” was released. “Always on Time” is the song that set eyes on Ashanti and kicked off her journey in the public eye.

“What’s Luv?” (2002)

“What’s Luv?” is a single by Fat Joe that features Ja Rule and Ashanti vocals. Released in February of 2002, the song dominated airwaves around the world. It was the second single off Fat Joe’s fourth album, Jealous Ones Still Envy (J.O.S.E). “What’s Luv?” was Ashanti’s second Hip Hop collab that performed exceptionally well on charts worldwide. The single also reached the penultimate spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and was blocked from the top spot by Ashanti’s debut single, “Foolish.” “What’s Luv?” has become one of Ashanti’s signature songs over the years, and rightfully so.

“Unfoolish” (2002)

Though released over two decades ago, “Foolish” is still widely considered to be Ashanti’s signature track. The R&B single spent ten whole weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. “Unfoolish,” while not a hit song, was a promotional single that featured a verse from The Notorious B.I.G. His guest appearance on the track was thanks to a verse from his song “F—king You Tonight.” Overall, “Unfoolish” has quickly become a cult favorite from Ashanti’s endless Hip Hop collabs.

“Mesmerize” (2002)

Ashanti and Ja Rule reigned supreme in the early 2000s, and “Mesmerize” is one of their standout tracks. The 2003 Hip Hop track features Ashanti and Ja Rule confessing their desire for one another. Both artists also appeared in the music video greatly inspired by the musical Grease. In the now iconic video, Ashanti and Ja Rule play a series of amusement park attractions before riding off together. “Mesmerize” hit the penultimate spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and is another staple in both artists’ discographies.

“Into You” (2003)

The “Into You” music video may have featured Tamia’s re-recorded vocals, but Ashanti’s voice on the album track is unmistakable. “Into You” is a Hip Hop love song by Fabolous, with vocals by Ashanti. Irv Gotti famously refused the singer to appear in the video, which led to Tamia’s version. However, Ashanti still received credit on official singles charts due to the mass appeal of both the album and single versions.

“Pac’s Life” (2006)

“Pac’s Life” is a song that celebrates the life of rap icon Tupac Shakur. The famous single was released as a part of the artist’s posthumous album release. “Pac’s Life” is a Hip Hop and R&B collab that features T.I. and Ashanti. Furthermore, the music video of “Pac’s Life” was highly anticipated and debuted on BET in November 2006. “Pac’s Life” was also filmed at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center, and T.I. and Ashanti appeared in the video paying homage to the legend. With the announcement of an incoming Tupac biography, the single has enjoyed more airplay.

“Body On Me” (2008)

Nelly and Ashanti have rekindled their romance after a decade apart. In 2008, the rapper featured Ashanti and Akon on the track “Body on Me.” Initially meant for her album The Declaration, the single was recorded while the pair were dating. Moreover, the Hip Hop and R&B collab features Ashanti’s sultry vocals anticipating a steamy night with her man. “Body on Me” didn’t achieve mainstream success but resonated with fans of the couple at the time.
