Lil Dicky Feels “Misrepresented” By Old Music, Will Return To Rap

Lil Dicky recently expressed that he feels “misrepresented” by his old music and wants to come back to hip-hop. Of course, he’s been incredibly busy with his hit FX TV show, Dave. Moreover, he preceded small-screen ambitions with a cheeky and playful music career, one that he plans to revitalize. In a recent interview with Consequence, the multi-medium artist spoke about his thought process.

“I do feel bad for my music fans — I would be so annoyed at me,” he began. “But it’s not because of laziness. I don’t think I could work any harder than I work. As soon as I finish working on the show, and it’s the off-season, I’m in the studio every single day trying to get this thing done … There probably is a belief that ‘he’s never gonna put out an album. He’s just an actor.’ But it’s just not true. I don’t care when or how long it takes. I am going to put that second album out.”

Moreover, Lil Dicky’s humorous career has drawn comparisons to everyone from Eminem to Kanye West, as odd as those may sound. After first breaking out with viral tracks and his Professional Rapper album, he’s looking for a change of pace. Also, he shared how his previous work didn’t showcase his true talent, and how he evolved since then.

“I feel totally misrepresented by my music online because it’s all so old, and I’m just so much better than that as an artist,” he said. “When I first started out, I was making my songs in my San Francisco apartment for like two years before I even showed anybody anything because I just wanted to build the right body of work. And I think I’m just trying to build the right body and roll it out the right way, and I just get better and better … I’ve advanced as an artist. I just need the time.”

What do you think of Lil Dicky feeling misrepresented by his art and teasing a return to his rap career? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, check back in with HNHH for more news from hip-hop media crossovers- and comebacks.

G Herbo Reflects On How Leaving The Streets Helped His Career

Chicago MC G Herbo cemented himself as one of the 2010s’ most pivotal rappers from the city. Moreover, his come-up from a hardened background fueled much of his most resonant and definitive artistry. In a new interview with XXL, G Herbo reflected on how leaving the streets behind ultimately helped his career move forward.

Furthermore, the interview broke down specific lyrics from the 27-year-old’s track “Outside Looking In.” It’s featured on his 2022 album, Survivor’s Remorse: A Side. In a particular moment in the interview, XXL asked Herbo when he made this realization.

“I always knew I was special,” the rapper said. “It was just my environment. The circumstances that I was up against that made me make certain decisions. It was always hope for me. I knew that I was gon’ make something of myself.

“When I used to go visit my aunt house, all they really did was gangbang and sell drugs and s**t,” he continued. “Don’t get me wrong, it was family vibes, but that’s what I was exposed to. At my grandmother house, she liked to gamble. Her crib was like a party spot, a gambling spot. They played cards all night. But when you a kid, they not really paying attention to us observing everything that’s going on around. Referring to the birds and bees, I never had those conversations with my parents growing up. It just happened naturally. I was exposed to that type of stuff early.”

Meanwhile, the “PTSD” artist recently looked back on his personal past, as well. After he admitted to cheating on Yung Miami’s Caresha Please podcast, Ari Fletcher believed that he owed her an apology. Even though it’s in a very different context, recent interviews and discussions opened Herbo up to some very interesting conversations. Hearing him speak on how he relates art to family is a fascinating account.

“I was ahead of my time,” the drill artist stated. “I was smart and people in my life that I looked up to, they looked at me as like, ‘That’s just lil Herbie, my lil cousin.’ They didn’t take me serious when I would bring up rap. When I was going to my first studio sessions and stuff like that, I never used to let my family hear my music or nothing. I never really spoke of my dreams and aspirations ’cause I learned early on, if people don’t see it for themselves, they’ll never really see it for you. All these years later, I’m still trying to like build that connection with my family.”

When asked how he changed his focused mindset to hip-hop rather than the streets, Herbo elaborated on the extent of that focus.

“I disassociated myself with the streets and with the outside world, I wasn’t engaged with nothing other than chasing my dreams. I believe in God, so when I have those moments where I feel chills or I have those deep thoughts. My calling, my destiny. I believe in that type of stuff, I wanted to focus on solely being a rapper. I took a flying leap of faith and I really did it.”

What do you think on G Herbo’s reflections on the streets and his career? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, come back to HNHH for more insights from hip-hop’s most talented minds.

Blueface Reacts To Chrisean Rock’s “No Jumper” Meltdown: “Alcohol Isn’t Her Problem, Her Mentality Is”

At this point, even Chrisean Rock and Blueface can’t deny the toxicity of their relationship. Since late last year, we’ve watched the couple’s often hurtful and hateful antics play out on their Crazy In Love reality series.

Past episodes have found the 22-year-old describing her situation with the “Thotiana” rapper as “forced.” Cameras catch them constantly bickering with each other, and even landing in physical and verbal altercations with family members. Of course, we’ve also been seeing some drama play out in real life between the lovers too.

Most recently, Blueface and Chrisean joined Adam22 on his No Jumper podcast. However, it wasn’t long before the latter was forcibly removed from the studio. The incident left her obviously emotional, and she promptly used social media to vent her feelings to fans.

“I just need everyone to pray for me. I ran to social media for this cuz honestly I appreciate my fans n love to be very transparent. Hopefully, my darkness is someone’s light,” the reality star wrote earlier this week. “I love God so much, I want [to] be in heaven so bad. I hate myself because maybe if I was better person, life wouldn’t make me feel like dis.”

Since Chrisean shared her side of the story, Blueface also used his public platform to rant about the situation. “Communication is the best way to express yourself,” he wrote in one tweet on Thursday (January 19) evening.

“Alcohol isn’t her problem, her mentality is her problem. All you people on here making excuses for a lack of self-control [and] irrational behaviour is contributing to the problem,” the father of two went on.

In his next post, Blue added, “When she displays this type of irrational behaviour on ‘Baddies’ or ‘Blue Girls Club’ you guys applaud [and] cheer. When it’s a different setting [and] it doesn’t look as good, you guys want it to be everybody else’s fault. This is how she carry herself, with or without me.”

The tweets have since gained plenty of attention. While some are on the same page as the 26-year-old, others called him out for his role in their unhealthy relationship.

“The question is, when is someone going to end the relationship?” one user asked him. “You can love someone and not be with them, because y’all both have shit y’all need to deal with mentally. Can’t get mad at the world for how we view Y’ALL on a television show that y’all agreed to do.”

Jaguar Wright’s Wild Interview Clips Resurface After Arrest

Authorities recently arrested Jaguar Wright following an alleged domestic dispute with her husband, during which she reportedly dumped her son’s ashes. While many made calls for the R&B singer to receive help, some already knew a certain extent of her behavior. In light of that incident, many Jaguar Wright interview clips resurfaced online, in which she makes some crazy claims.

“There’s been a lot of sifting through,” the 47-year-old said in an interview with RealLyfe Productions about a week ago. “I got 25, 30-year relationships, you know what I mean? With people in this industry, and I don’t know who the f**k I can trust anymore.”

Before this current debacle, Wright made headlines for some of her outstanding allegations. Moreover, one of the biggest bombs she dropped was accusations of sexual assault against her ex, Common. That was a couple of years ago, and many assume that this started a downward spiral for the singer.

“I was for sure disappointed and hurt when she said what she said about me because it wasn’t true,” Common stated. “I know people that have experienced sexual assault and that’s not anything to just say if it’s not true. But I also understand that she may be going through some things that I don’t understand.

“In all truth, I went through different emotions. I’m like, oh man, why is she saying this? This is not true. How’s this gon’ affect me?”

With all this in mind, some of Wright’s recent interviews added fuel to this fire. In her interview with RealLyfe Productions, she spoke about fearing for her life while in Dallas. Apparently, the situation stemmed from a conflict with Tasha K.

“My life was being threatened, and not figuratively, Literally we were being hunted… Tasha K- I’ll say allegedly for y’all, so ain’t nobody talking about no defamations. Allegedly, the b***h was hired to target me. When I started the women’s group… three of the women in the group all worked for Tasha K. One of the women, who has positioned herself as my right-hand woman to help me build it- I mean this b***h actually came to my house.

“So Tasha K had somebody in my f***king home, amongst my family.” Moreover, Wright recounted how someone tried to break into their house and said the woman was responsible for people creeping on her.

Still, what do you think of Jaguar Wright’s interview clips and the discourse surrounding her? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, check back in with HNHH to see if Wright’s ordeals resolve.

Kevin Gates Reveals What He Likes To Do With His Partner’s Urine

Kevin Gates appeared on the Fancy Talk show where he discussed what he enjoys in the bedroom. As expected from any Kevin Gates, the outcome was undoubtedly outlandish. The conversation went from ass play to the topic of golden showers, which is when Gates said that he’s a fan of drinking his partner’s urine.

“I love for a woman to piss in my mouth,” Gates said. It’s not shocking considering his lyrics in last year’s “Super General.” During the freestyle, he admitted that he wanted to make Beyoncé “piss all on this dick.” Then, he appeared on Bootleg Kev’s podcast where he took it further and said he’d drink Bey’s urine if he had the opportunity.

The host, Fancy, later clarified that she meant whether he’s interested in peeing in his girl’s mouth.

“I had a woman pee in a cup while we were driving and I drunk it,” he said. “Because it was nothing — I was so infatuated with this woman to where it was just nothing about her that was nasty. And then, she’s super clean. She like me. She drink nothing but water all day, so, her piss ain’t got no taste.”

Needless to say, Kevin Gates’ latest admission about his bedroom antics caught Twitter off guard. Some people believe that the rapper shouldn’t be invited for any more interviews while others found it thoroughly entertaining. Then, there was a section of individuals who felt as if Gates crossed the threshold of freakiness that they were willing to accept.

Check out some of the funniest reactions to Kevin Gates’s latest interview below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

A Boogie Wit da Hoodie is still fresh off the release of his newest album, Me vs. Myself. Ever since his debut mixtape, 2016’s Artist, the New York native has been steadily working to become a household name in mainstream hip-hop.

On Thursday (January 12), Billboard published their brand new interview with the “Drowning” rapper. During the sit-down, A Boogie opens up about a number of different topics. Notably, he talks about an injury that his mother suffered and its effects on him. During a raid of the rapper’s home in 2020, 16 SWAT officers are responsible for busting through the door. His mother subsequently rolled her ankle while falling down the stairs.

“When I seen Mom Dukes fall down the stairs that day, bro. I’m looking up to see what was coming behind her, and all I seen was a flashlight, and whatever kind of chopper those SWAT teams have. It was crazy, and I just froze up. I couldn’t do anything,” he details. The New York native says isolation has helped him to grow and reflect on his past.

Elsewhere in the interview, he also addresses dealing with the loss of one of his closest friends, PnB Rock. “When it comes to someone close to me passing away, it’s hard, but I can’t lose focus because I have to be responsible and find the balance to deal with those tough losses so I can properly help out in any way I can. Isolation helped with that,” says the 27-year-old.

His latest project, the aforementioned Me vs. Myself, arrived just over a month ago. It boasts features from Roddy Ricch, G Herbo, Lil Durk and others. Furthermore, it’s backed by the single, “Water (Drowning Pt. 2)” with Kodak Black. Of course, this serves as the sequel to their 2017 track together.

A Boogie released a deluxe version of the album with an extra song just a few days after the original release. “Needed That” features the late PnB Rock and serves as the deluxe version’s first song on the tracklist.

Keith Murray Claims He Saw Suge Knight Slap Diddy

After so many years of history, rappers took it upon themselves to share the genre’s tales with as much vigor and vividness as possible. At least, that seems to be the mission for Keith Murray, who gave an animated account of the time when Suge Knight allegedly slapped Diddy. Moreover, the New York rapper sat down for an interview with The Art of Dialogue where he made such claims. Moreover, it’s not his first claim regarding Bad Boy Records.

“Yo, I got a story to tell you!” he exclaimed to the interviewer. “One time, we was at Platinum House… Suge was there, I was there, Puffy was there, and we was all partying and chilling and stuff, right? It got late and the night dispersed. Then all of a sudden, outside… I walk up, and then I notice ‘Yo, there’s a f**king dead body right there in front of the Platinum House!’

“Wait, it wasn’t a dead body,” he went on to clarify. “It was a story. But it was Puffy and Suge. Suge was like ‘You, you all right?’ Puffy was there Then all of a sudden I saw Suge…” and Murray exclaimed and made an energetic slap motion, “smack the dogs**t out of Puffy. I’m like ‘Oh, s**t! This is crazy!’

“Puffy paused, looked at me like, ‘Yo, that’s what I get for being too nice,’” he concluded.

Furthermore, he had some more details about the incident. According to Murray, one of Suge’s friends had recently died. Despite the slight seriousness of the story, the 48-year-old gave a very expressive and animated account. “[Suge] brought it from left field down south of Georgia on Puffy,” he said.

Meanwhile, Murray recently turned heads on social media for his wild interviews and claims. Recently, he shocked Twitter with tales of his sexual exploits allegedly involving Shawnna and Foxy Brown. Moreover, Shawnna said that he needs help and clapped back at his stories.

Prince Harry Admits “Bigoted” Behaviour Before Meeting Meghan Markle

Some argue that the monarchy is an entirely dated concept. Still, though, Britain’s Royal Family has spent an abundance of time in the headlines as of late. Following the emotional death of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dropped some bombshells in their Netflix docuseries at the end of 2022.

From the Suits actress’ confession that she didn’t feel as though anyone treated her “like a Black woman” until she moved to the UK to her friendship with Beyoncé, the six-episode project covers plenty of content. However, it didn’t get through everything the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had to say. Especially not the former, who’s been spilling plenty of juicy tea about his family in recent weeks.

Ahead of his Spare memoir, Prince Harry has been making rounds on the press circuit, discussing the upcoming book. Recently, he joined Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes to discuss his work and upbringing. In the interview, the father of two reflects on the racism his wife faced from the British media.

Surprisingly, he had a personal realization to share with listeners at the same time. According to Haz, he, too, may have walked through life with racist feelings prior to meeting Markle.

“I had no idea the British press were so bigoted. Hell, I was probably bigoted before the relationship with Meghan,” he tells Cooper. Later, when asked how the American star has changed him, he sweetly said, “Put it this way. I didn’t see what I now see.”

While he’s clearly got all the praise for Markle, Harry’s older brother, Prince William hasn’t been getting as much love. According to Page Six, the younger royal takes a jab at the future King’s rapid hair loss in Spare. Apparently, he describes it as “alarming.”

Elsewhere in the book, the 38-year-old describes his sibling as his “archnemesis,” also breaking down a physical altercation they had during a confrontation about the former’s wife.

Read what Meghan Markle had to say about her friendship with Beyoncé in her and Harry’s Netflix docuseries here. Afterward, tell us if you plan to read the Prince’s forthcoming memoir (due out January 10) in the comments.

After decades in the entertainment industry, Terrence Howard announced his plans to retire from acting. The actor made things clear in a recent interview, saying, “This is the end for me.”

Sitting down with Entertainment Tonight, the Empire star revealed some sage advice that he received from the late actor Sidney Poitier in the past.

“I asked Sidney Poitier 10 years ago does he want to do any more work, and he said, ‘Why would I spend my last 10 years doing an impersonation of myself?’ And that’s what I’ve gotten to.” Howard shared.

While revealing his appreciation for new actors, the 53-year-old continues, “I’ve gotten to the point where now I’ve given the very best that I have as an actor. Now I’m enjoying watching other new talent come around, and I don’t want to do an impersonation of myself.”

Source Exclusive: Regina Hall Talks ‘Honk For Jesus,’ Black Ownership and More

Regina Hall Honk For Jesus

Regina Hall has been quite active since we saw her co-hosting the 2022 Oscars. Her latest project is the comedy/satire Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul, (Sept. 2 on Peacock), which premieres in theaters this weekend.  The 51-year-old comedian, plays Trinitie Childs, the first lady of a megachurch, who’s husband is Sterling K. Brown, who plays pastor Lee-Curtis Childs. Hall’s character supports her husband and the church as they rebrand after being involved in a scandal that upsets their congregation.

The famed actor and director who is known for her roles in Black Monday, Girls Trip, the Best Man and cult classic Scary Movie franchise recently partnered with CÎROC for #CIROCStands for Black Businesses at the 20th annual Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. A mission that highlights effort and ongoing commitment to celebrate the powerful voices and people within the Black community that are depicting excellence and igniting change.

The DC native and Me Time (Aug. 26 on Netflix), cast member who also stars in the limited series, The Best Man: The Final Chapters (Dec. 22 on Peacock), spoke with Kim SoMajor of The Source and dished on her new partnership with #CIROCStands, having ownership in Hollywood, starting her production company Rh Negative and more.

RH HEADSHOT22

What sparked you to take on your latest film project, “Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul.”

I really enjoyed the script when I read it and then I met with Adamma and Adanne and although they were young, I had seen their short film and knew they had a vision for what they had in mind. I hadn’t worked with Sterling before so when he joined, I was excited to work with him and couldn’t imagine creating these characters with anyone else.

What’s your role and intention set to accomplish with your partnership with CÎROC?

As a Black woman, I of course support female, Black owned businesses which is part of why I appreciate what #CIROCStands is accomplishing for the community. It’s that shared mission that drew me to them. Being at Martha’s Vineyard and being on a panel with such amazing women was truly inspiring. There’s such a rich history and roots in the culture there and I loved celebrating that!

How does the association align with everything that you’re doing as a businesswoman?

Like #CIROCStands, I believe it’s important to highlight people of different backgrounds. There are smart, talented people from varied pasts and to find them and give them a space to create and tell really good stories is part of why I was inspired to start producing.

As a business owner, starting Rh Negative production company- What has been a definitive moment for you that reaffirmed that you made the right move in launching?

Producing is a process that involves many people and I love the sense of collaboration involved in developing a project from beginning to end. It brings me joy every time I’m able to facilitate the success of a project and enable other people’s dreams coming true.

With your production company, you are providing an opportunity for many creatives. How important is it for black women to have ownership in Hollywood or entertainment in general?

We live in a diverse world and it’s important that diversity be seen on screen, which means it must exist behind the scenes. Everyone has different life experiences, and that varied history creates well-informed decisions that positively influence each project and inherently the industry as a whole.

How did you know that was the next move for you?

I’ve wanted to produce for several years. I felt like I had worked and gotten to a place where I had enough knowledge to be able to produce. It wasn’t an overnight thing, despite what people think, it took years, hard work, and a will for it to happen.

Can you share 5 tips on balancing a successful entrepreneurial lifestyle and home life of wellness?

More of a balance is always the goal, although it’s not always easy. I would say what helps me is good friends, an incredible team, fun, rest, and a quiet place where my imagination can roam.

What’s in store for you in the last quarter of 2022?

We’re of course excited for Honk for Jesus to be released and then we have The Best Man coming out just in time for the holidays! Then a few other things that are soon to be announced. I work with two organizations called Scleroderma Research Foundation and Solutions Project and hope to partner with them on a few things too.

Continue the conversation with us on social media.
