Lauren London’s life was radically changed forever on this day (March 31), five years ago. Hip-hop heads know all too well that the start of spring is followed by the sadness of Nipsey Hussle’s untimely death, though his powerful legacy lives on far beyond his time on Earth. This is largely thanks to London, who shares heartfelt tributes to him on social media regularly, reminding us how impactful her partner’s energy was on the countless lives he touched.

On Sunday morning, the 39-year-old posted a handsome photo of Kross’ father. He poses with a stark white Puma tracksuit and an abundance of chains around his next. “If you know me, you know March is always tough for me,” London’s emotional post says. “31 days of holding my breath. This day decided to fall on Easter Sunday this 2024, interesting… Considering your name #GodWillRise,” the mother of two added. “Energy never dies… I love you. Eternal Eternal.
,” she concluded her annual memorium.

In the comments, several fans are sharing stories of their interactions with Hussle that are surely putting a smile on London’s face. “My husband was so excited as he had been a long-time fan. He was so kind, he waited for my husband to go back to the car to get his phone so that I could take a picture of them. I’m not going to lie, I was star-struck, but I told him that I loved you Lauren and that made him ,” one Instagram user recalled a chance meeting in St. Louis. “My husband took his passing very hard but tried to stand for the same things Nip stood for… community. Unfortunately, my husband was gunned down on Slauson last summer as well. I pray that their spirits are at .”

Losing her life partner has been hard on Lauren London, not only as a lover but also as a mother. Thankfully, in late 2023 it was confirmed that the black-haired beauty will receive half of Nipsey Hussle’s $11M assets on behalf of their son, Kross. Lil Yachty says that the reason rappers can be “so angry” is because they’re “ugly as f*ck.” He teased the hip-hop community in a video circulating on social media while calling himself “gorgeous.” “I personally think that rappers are so angry and so mad and so ‘grrr’ all the time because they’re ugly as f*ck,” he joked.

Yachty added: “A lot of rappers don’t like what they see when they wake up and they realize that they probably only get women because they get money. Me, on the other hand, I’m gorgeous. And, it’s like I’m happy, life’s great. I got some money, decent looking. I smell great.”

Fans overwhelmingly trolled Yachty in response to the video when XXL shared it on Instagram. “Then you must be the angriest rapper alive,” one user wrote. Latto voiced her support for Lizzo on Instagram, Saturday, after the “Truth Hurts” singer announced that she’s quitting music in a rant on social media. Taking to the comments section of the post, Latto recalled Lizzo convincing her to stick with music when she went through adversity in her own career. Lizzo previously invited Latto to open for her on the North American dates for The Special Tour.

“The ppl need you Lizzo,” Latto wrote on Lizzo’s post. “I remember U made me keep going when I wanted to quit before. UR soul is SO pure f.ck these people that don’t know you! Team Lizzo 4L.” In addition to Latto, Paris Hilton and many of Lizzo’s other fans left behind similar messages of support.

Drake’s “Energy” During & After New York Performance Suggests His Opps Have His Attention

Drake is an MC who leaves both his contemporaries and music lovers divided, meaning he’s been involved in his share of feuds and controversies over the years. Rather than getting physical with those trying his patience, the Toronto native has put out some impressive diss tracks over the years, such as “Back to Back” targeting Meek Mill and “No Shopping” with French Montana, which famously took shots at Joe Budden.

Surprisingly, Drizzy has yet to respond to Kendrick Lamar’s shade on “Like That” in an official capacity, instead seemingly addressing the drama in more subtle ways. On Friday (March 29), the father of one was on tour in New York City, where he let some of his feelings out during fan favourite, “Energy.” As the crowd at UBS Arena in Belmont Park hyped him up, Drake yelled, “I got enemies, got a lot of enemies” repeatedly before adding “F**k these ni**as.”

In the hours after wrapping up that concert, the 6ix God shared a new photo dump on social media detailing the final few days of his March. Lizzo Goes On Explosive Rant About Her Haters, Ends It By Saying “I QUIT”

A running theme that has permeated throughout the career of Lizzo is backlash. The Detroit, Michigan vocalist has been one of the biggest stars in the music industry for the last few years. Almost everyone knows that fame is a good enough reason for the public to say negative things about you. However, the criticism really has not revolved around her music. It has had more to do with her severe sexual harassment and hostile work environment allegations from her ex-dancers. Furthermore, there is a large audience, which includes conservative political figure Candace Owens, that is against behavior in public. All of these reasons could be factors in Lizzo recent rant in which she said, “I QUIT.”

The “About Damn Time” artist has been holding back from really speaking her mind it seems, as Lizzo unleashed on her haters. According to TMZ, Lizzo did this via Instagram story last night, shortly after people were upset at her for performing at Joe Biden’s fundraiser amid the aforementioned allegations. The event was held at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City with the other performers being Queen Latifah, Ben Platt, and more. Lizzo explosive message reads, “I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views… being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look… I didn’t sign up for this s***… I QUIT.”

She could be saying “I QUIT” to get off social media, or at least take a break from it. Another way to view it is that she could be done trying to please the critics and just live her life. Diddy Reportedly Owes Nearly $100 Million To The Bank

The news relating to Diddy recently has turned into a full on avalanche as one thing after another manages to go wrong. It first began last year when Cassie filed the first of a barrage of lawsuits against the rap mogul. Those allegations piled up one after another but the level of potential threat was raised significantly earlier this week. That came when police raided two of Diddy’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami.

While he wasn’t present himself for the raids they’ve been the biggest story in hip hop this week. The actual houses themselves are the subject of a newly emerging story. Diddy reportedly owes the banks over $100 million spawning from eight different mortgages taken out on his three houses. The total value of what he borrowed is reported to be more than $140 million. Reportedly the first loan that needs to be settled is one for $23 million that’s due in 2029. Check out the full report below.

Overnight Diddy didn’t seem overly worried by the ongoing circumstances. Despite everything he’s dealt with this week he still got out to relax, hitting up Top Golf with his twin daughters. He flashed up a pretty nonchalant peace sign to cameras when they caught up with him outside. The rap mogul himself has been pretty quiet even as seemingly everyone in entertainment fights to get their thoughts out on the proceedings online.

The situation has also forced Yung Miami to play defense for herself. First she had to deny any involvement in the raids themselves when fans on Twitter called her an informant. Then her legal team had to pull up some receipts after she was added to and amendment to producer Lil Rod’s lawsuit against Diddy. Doja Cat Teases New Song Dropping Soon

Doja Cat isn’t resting any time soon. Late last year she released her new album Scarlet which was pretty well received by critics and even more so by fans. The album still has two singles in the top 40 of the Hot 100 right now. “Paint The Town Red” currently sits at number 32 after hitting the very top spot on the chart last year. “Agora Hills” currently sits at number 13 on the chart after peaking at number 7 earlier this year.

Even after recently touring on the back of the record, she’s still refusing to slow down. That confirmation came earlier today when she announced her new single on Instagram. “ ASC 4.5.24” she captioned the announcement. It’s as non-specific as ever for Doja but it seems to imply that the new single is called MASC and will drop early next month on April 5. The move comes just a few weeks after Doja Cat deactivated her Instagram. She claimed that she shut the platform down after “toxicity” from her fanbase, something that certain followers didn’t seem to take well. Her beef with her own fans dates back to last year when she took issue with them picking the name “Kittenz” for her fan base. It turned out that picking a fight with her own fanbase wasn’t the best idea for Doja’s popularity. The move caused her to lose 250k Instagram followers.

Just a few weeks before that Doja shared a hilarious video of herself trying to recite lyrics. Earlier this month, fashion brand Alexander Wang announced their new collaboration with Ice Spice. The breakthrough rapper had a viral moment last year during her appearance at the MET Gala. And now she’s once again dipping her toes into fashion by serving as an ambassador for the brand. But now according to HipHopDX they’ve announced the next step in their collaboration and it’s a big one. According to a new press release, they’re hitting NYC with an impossible to ignore promotion next month.

“Starting in Times Square, a super-sized inflatable of Ice Spice will drive around NYC for the whole day, offering city-dwellers a look at Alexander Wang’s latest collection and campaign. The inflatable will be driven throughout the city, hitting up high-foot traffic areas for all to see,” their press release reads. It’s reportedly due to get underway on April 6. The ambition mirrors what Spice herself was seeking in her statement earlier this month. “As an artist, I’m always challenging myself on how I can contribute to culture in a way that drives things forward, and Alexander Wang is a great vehicle for that with this incredibly bold and global campaign,” she said.
