Symba & Roddy Ricch Vow To “Never Change” On New Collab

By now, the stage is set for Symba’s grand entrance. The Oakland-born rapper has kept the streets on their toes for the release of his next album, especially after locking in with Dr. Dre. On Friday, Results Takes Time, his Gangsta Grillz tape with DJ Drama, will be out in its entirety with features from a slew of heavyweights in the game, like Pusha T and 2 Chainz.

Today, he gave fans a final taste of what to expect from his upcoming opus. “Never Change” ft. Roddy Ricch showcases Symba’s range. We’ve seen his capabilities as an MC but he leans towards the melodic stylings of Roddy Ricch with an infectious California bounce. Still, the beat switches into something more ferocious, and Symba easily matches that energy with a vigorous flow. In the song, Symba reflects on his growing status in the music industry, vowing that money and Rfame will never change him.

The latest from Symba is a promising sign of what’s to come. Check the song below.

Quotable Lyrics

2Pac’s Stepfather Mutulu Shakur Denied Compassionate Release: Report

Tupac Shakur’s stepfather, Mutulu Shakur, was denied a compassionate release by a federal judge this week, Vlad TV reports. Shakur was sentenced to 60 years in prison after he was convicted of conspiracy to rob an armored truck in 1984. Despite his increasing health issues, including multiple myeloma and bone marrow cancer, U.S. Senior District Judge Charles S. Haight struck down the request for a compassionate release

Shakur’s attorney cited the First Step Act but the judge clarified that there’s a loophole in the law. The First Step Act doesn’t apply to crimes committed before 1987.

“This is a difficult case. The government does not question the dire nature of Shakur’s present medical condition. Shakur also submits testimonials which describe his rehabilitation in prison and humanitarian assistance he has rendered to other inmates,” Haight wrote in an 11-page letter. “On the other hand, members of the family of the Brinks employee who was killed during the crimes of conviction have written to the Court, expressing their continuing grief and opposition to any reduction in Shakur’s sentence.”

In May, Shakur was told that he had six months to live. The options for freedom are limited as he either needs to go through the Bureau Of Prisons, who’ve previously denied several requests for compassionate release, or convince the parole board to allow his release.

Mutulu Shakur’s sentence is expected to end in November 2024.

Stephen A. Smith Can’t Believe Chris Russo’s Lamar Jackson Take

Ever since Chris Russo was added to First Take on Wednesdays, the show has become infinitely better. Smith was in desperate need of someone who could match his energy, and it has become clear that Russo is that guy. Some have even compared Russo to Skip Bayless thanks to his wild hot takes and ability to make Stephen A. scream in anger.

Today, First Take was debating the topic of quarterbacks in the NFL. Eventually, there was a discussion about Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings and Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens. Both Russo and Smith tried to debate who is better, and it got very testy.

The majority of NFL fans will say Jackson is the better QB, but Russo disagreed vehemently. He made the claim that Cousins has been more impressive in the playoffs and that Jackson hasn’t proven anything beyond the regular season.

This completely set off Stephen A. as he was shocked by what he was hearing. The two got into a bit of a yelling match and, once again, it made for some spectacular television. It is pretty clear that Stephen A. is right here, but Russo has the confidence to spew bad takes without a second thought, and you have to admire that.

Let us know who you think won the debate, in the comments section down below.

Nicki Minaj Files Lawsuit Against “Nosey Heaux” Over Cocaine Allegations: Report

She wasn’t messing around when she said she was taking bloggers to court. Nicki Minaj has been on a rampage in recent days, making promises that have left some content creators shaking in their boots. With a career as expansive as Minaj’s, the Rap icon is no stranger to hearing wild statements about her, but she recently shared that she’s had enough.

While hosting “Nicki’s Tea Party” over the weekend, Minaj announced that she had three defamation lawsuits prepared against bloggers who spread misinformation about her. Names weren’t revealed, but today (September 14), it was shared that Minaj’s legal wasted no time in filing a lawsuit against Marley Green who goes by the moniker “Nosey Heaux.”

Green reportedly shared a video to social media claiming that Minaj was “shoving all this cocaine, shoving in all this cocaine up her nose. Allegedly. Thank you. Allegedly. But we all know it’s true. “F*ck, listen, I can’t even say allegedly with that ’cause I—we all know it’s true. I’m not saying allegedly on that. Nicki Minaj is a cokehead.”

Minaj alleged that Green spoke ill of her son “Papa Bear” as well, stating that the toddler “is going to be a rapist, too.” This comment was made in connection with Minaj’s husband, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty who was convicted of attempted rape in the first degree in 1995, along with assault and unlawful imprisonment.

TMZ reported that in court documents, Minaj referred to Green as a person “whose main accomplishments in life have been a string of criminal charges, bail jumping and bad debts.” The rapper insists she has never used cocaine and is suing for “damages of no less than $75,000.” Minaj’s attorney Judd Burstein told TMZ that they plan to take Green’s “Nosey Heaux” trademark “when she does not have enough money to pay the judgment.”

“Anyone else who spreads lies about Nicki will suffer a similar fate,” Burstein added. “My marching orders are to aggressively sue anyone with a media or social media following who damages her with intentional lies. Eventually, the lesson will be learned.”

Meanwhile, Green is not using the hashtag “Surviving The Pettys” and posted several screenshots of allegedly being harassed on social media.

Iowa Teen Ordered To Pay $150k To Alleged Rapist’s Family After Stabbing Him To Death

An Iowa teenager named Peiper Lewis, who was the victim of human trafficking, has been ordered to pay $150,000 in restitution to the family of the accused rapist who she stabbed to death in self-defense. She will also receive five years of closely supervised probation.

The controversial decision revolves around the fact that the teenager’s captor was technically asleep when she stabbed him to death, making him considered not to be an immediate threat.

“This court is presented with no other option,” Polk County District Judge David M. Porter said on Tuesday, noting the restitution is mandatory under Iowa law that has been upheld by the Iowa Supreme Court.

Police and prosecutors have both admitted that Lewis was both sexually assaulted and trafficked. Some states have so-called safe harbor laws, which give an increased level of criminal immunity to victims of trafficking, but Iowa is not among them.

“The next five years of your life will be full of rules you disagree with, I’m sure of it,” Porter said. “This is the second chance that you’ve asked for. You don’t get a third.”

Reading from a statement prior to her sentencing, Lewis said, “My spirit has been burned, but still glows through the flames. Hear me roar, see me glow, and watch me grow. I am a survivor.”
