Desiigner Said He’s Checking Into A Mental Health Facility After He Exposed Himself On A Flight From Thailand

Brooklyn rapper Desiigner said he plans to check himself into a mental health facility to seek help after reportedly exposing himself on a flight returning from Rolling Loud Thailand, according to TMZ. The “Panda” rapper was met by law enforcement upon landing in Minneapolis, detained, and questioned before being released.

On Instagram, Desiigner apologized for his behavior, explaining that he was given medication while in Thailand after being admitted to a hospital. He also said he’d be canceling his forthcoming shows for the immediate future.

For the past few months I have not been ok. And I have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on. While overseas for a concert I performed at, I had to be admitted in to a hospital, I was not thinking clearly. They gave me meds, and I had to hop on a plane home. I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane. I landed back to the states, and am admitting my self in a facility to help me. I will be cancelling all of my shows and my obligations until further notice. Mental health is real guys, please pray for me. If [you’re] not feeling like yourself, please get help.

Last year, Desiigner had another run-in with law enforcement; getting into a verbal altercation with the LAPD. This isn’t the first time he’s flashed himself in public either; in 2018 he was accused of showing his crotch to a couple during a confrontation.

Ludacris Flames Internet Trolls In 4/20 Freestyle

Ludacris has done it all from classic albums to classic film franchises (that don’t seem to end). One thing’s for certain, he’s still your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper. In the spirit of 4/20, Luda took to Instagram to spit a couple of bars. He didn’t hold any punches proving the “throwing bows” rapper has still got it. While it’s no secret that Ludacris is really like that when it comes to the rhymes, he felt the need to remind a few folks.

In the video, Ludacris is at a tropical location, delivering vicious bars. “I go by Luda, still smoking buddha” he raps. “Never gave a fuck what no hating n-gga said on no computer.” After taking some shots at internet trolls he goes on to rap about all of his success. “I don’t need no mentions, came from the trenches/So when I hit it from the back might pull out the weave or her extensions.” This freestyle is the latest in Luda’s series of impressive off-the-dome releases. Although it seems that the “Chicken-N-Beer” rapper has had a creative resurgence, that’s surely not the case.

Ludacris Puts The Internet Trolls On Notice

Luda has been doing this. In November, he dropped a “friendly reminder” freestyle over Armani White’s “Billie Eilish” beat that left fans chomping at the bits for more. It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from Ludacris. Although we’re getting dope freestyles from him, it has been over seven years since we’ve gotten an album. We all know that when Ludacris drops the industry moves and gets out of the way. However, it’s clear that some people needed to be reminded since the Fast and Furious star has taken this hiatus from music.

Since dropping Ludaversal, the rapper has been far from idle. Working on multiple projects from movies such as the Fast and Furious franchise to a new toy line, what can’t this man do? Not only that, but Ludacris also has a Netflix children’s show called Karma’s World, talk about multifaceted. Along with that, he’s also been finishing up college, showing everyone he isn’t just a one-trick pony. He’s also one of the few artists to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in the motion pictures category. Since hearing about the news in June of last year Luda’s now in the company of Charlie Wilson, Lenny Kravitz, Sheila E., and many others. Are you feeling the new Luda freestyle? Do you need another album from him? Let us know in the comments below!

Video Game Remakes: 5 Underappreciated Releases

Remakes in pop culture are nothing new. In fact, countless classic films were remakes of pictures from the silent era, and the trend has never slowed. If anything, remakes have become omnipresent across almost all forms of media. Films, television shows, and video games are filthy with remakes and reboots, for better and worse. Regarding video games, remakes, remasters, and reboots have become the industry norm.

With graphic capabilities and intuitive playability constantly improving, it only makes sense that gamers would be more inclined to revisit their favorite experiences. Recent remake releases such as Dead Space, The Last of Us Part 1, and Resident Evil 4 have all been massive hits and tentpole entries into video game canon. However, some video remakes have not found the same level of broad appeal as these aforementioned titles. Here are just a few that could use a bit more celebration for their improvement on the source material.

5. Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty! (2014)

Oddworld Inhabitants’ 2014 remake of their 1997 PlayStation cult classic Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee was nothing short of a revelation. The remake Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty reinvents the world of our Mudokon protagonist Abraham Lure by jettisoning into the realm of 2.5D. This may sound like a small leap forward, but the improved graphic fidelity creates a new gameplay experience. The hostile world of Abe was rendered gorgeously. All that means is the 1997 original had been kept intact and improved in almost every conceivable way.

The Oddworld franchise has always had a rabid fan base. However, Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty should have had a broader appeal. It made the puzzle platforming far more accessible by adding tighter controls and a difficulty setting, something the original game did not grace players with. While the follow-up, Oddworld: Soulstorm (2021), did not live up to the promise of its predecessor, Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty remains a masterful remake of a cult favorite that should have had a much broader audience.

4. Strider (2014)

The 1989 hack-n-slash platformer Strider was an arcade favorite for gamers looking for a tough-as-nails challenge. Players took control of the manga character Strider Hiryu and traversed a dystopian cyberpunk world. Wielding a plasma sword known as “Cypher,” gamers were besieged by legions of vicious enemies and increasingly difficult platforming obstacles. The game would later be ported to home consoles, to diminishing returns.

However, in 2014, developer Double Helix Games breathed new life into Strider on the PlayStation 3. This version of the game was a reboot that gave the graphics and controls a tight reconfiguration. Despite not having the designer of the original arcade release, Kouichi Yotsui, the game maintained the spirit of the original. It preserved the clever level of design and bone-crushing difficulty. Strider (2014) kept the core mechanics firmly planted in the confines of a 2D platformer. But it was fresh for gamers who might be more inclined to play in a 3D environment.

3. Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes (2004)

Hideo Kojima’s 1998 PlayStation release Metal Gear: Solid was ground-breaking. Kojima defined the stealth game based on the framework of the 1987 NES predecessor Metal Gear. Six years after Metal Gear: Solid’s release, Kojima redesigned the game with the 2004 remake Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes for the Nintendo GameCube. Twin Snakes featured updated graphics and gameplay mechanics, similar to 2001’s Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.

The game also included new cut scenes written and directed by renowned Japanese filmmaker Ryuhei Kitamura, further galvanizing the franchise’s cinematic tone. Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes was a financial and critical hit. However, there has yet to be a rerelease at the time of this writing. The underappreciation of the game has stemmed from its confinement to an oddball Nintendo console with a wonky controller.

2. The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena/Escape From Butcher Bay (2009)

Movie tie-in video games have historically been universally regarded as a cynical cash grab. For every X-Men Origins: Wolverine (a game that trumps the movie it was based on tenfold), there were dozens of cheaply produced bargain bin releases littering game store shelves. One of the best examples of a movie tie-in game breaking the cycle was the 2004 Xbox release The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. The game also acts as a prequel to the films Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick. It’s the most fun you can have pretending to be Vin Diesel.

In 2009 The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena was released. Further, this title included a remake of Butcher Bay and a sequel campaign. The remake and additional content improved upon the stealth mechanics. It also featured enhanced graphics and sound design, taking advantage of the next-gen technology of the time. Butcher Bay is a must-play for gamers looking for a first-person experience not focused on shoot-em-up set pieces. The remake (and its sequel) feel more like an expansion of an insane sci-fi property than just trite studio-mandated merchandise.

1. Rygar: The Legendary Adventure (2002)

The 1986 side-scrolling arcade game, Rygar, was a hit at the time of its release. Utilizing a unique weapon known as the “Diskarmor,” players took control of a legendary warrior to traverse a hostile world inspired by Greek Mythology. It only made sense for a remake to rear its head eventually. In 2002, developer Tecmo revisited the property with Rygar: The Legendary Adventure for the PlayStation 2.

This was one of the best remakes no one seems to talk about. Incorporating solid 3D platforming and combat, Rygar: The Legendary Adventure almost acts as a precursor to the God of War franchise. The combo hit system, and incredible soundtrack, also gave the remake a sense of epic scope. While there are certainly things to take issue with, most notably the amount of downtime, the game was way ahead of its time.

Antonio Brown To Be Arrested For Unpaid Child Support

Antonio Brown has once again made headlines for all the wrong reasons. A judge has ordered for police to arrest the former NFL receiver. Brown is accused of not paying child support to his ex, Wiltrice Jackson. Just last weekend, Brown was seen in a verbal altercation with a security guard during an Arena Football game. Now it appears Brown will once again be facing legal issues. Also, Brown has been making the rounds this week, discussing his NFL career. Including telling his side of the story of his falling out with Tom Brady.

According to TMZ, Brown has been ducking the child support payments. However, Brown’s bail is already set at $30,00. As the money will be set toward going to the unpaid child support. Sadly this isn’t the first time Brown has faced legal issues. Brown was accused of domestic violence by Jackson back in 2019. However, Brown was never charged for the claim made by Jackson. Many in the NFL community have been worried about Brown’s mental health in recent years.

Brown’s final game in the NFL saw the former receiver take his pads off mid-game and leave the sidelines. The moment has now been etched in social media lore, as Brown signing off on the field has become a popular meme. Brown spoke on the moment recently, saying he had a lot going on at the time. The former Buccaneers receiver claims his former QB, Brady, had recently yelled at his agent during that time. Brady’s alleged verbal altercation with Brown’s agent caused the rift between the two.

Brown has been no strange to making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Sadly his off-the-field issues have overshadowed his Hall-of-Fame career. At one time, Brown was known as one of the greatest receivers of his time. However, the off-field issues continued to plague Brown in the last few years of his career. The chances of seeing Brown on an NFL field again are highly unlikely. Now it seems the story of Antonio Brown is taking another wrong turn. For the latest NFL news, keep it right here with HNHH.

YSL Lawyer Bonds Out Following Courthouse Prescription Drug Arrest

The YSL RICO trial is still working to put together a jury. Already though, the courtroom has seen endless odd behaviour from potential members, defendants, and now, even attorneys. On Thursday (April 20), the lawyer representing Miles Farley (aka Lil Miles or Slato), Anastasios Manettas, was arrested in court for carrying prescription drugs on his person. As Rolling Stone reports, while police were dragging their culprit off, he attempted to throw his phone to his colleague, Chadha Jimenez, to avoid having it searched by authorities.

Unfortunately for Manettas, he missed and instead hit an officer. As a result, another charge was added, this one for assaulting a member of the police. Speaking with The FADER on Friday (April 21) morning, Jimenez confirmed that his co-worker has since been released on bond. “He’s home now, which is good,” YSL’s legal representative told the outlet. “The charges were bullshit. At the end of the day, I predict that both charges will be dropped. He’s gonna have a nice little civil lawsuit against the Sheriff’s Department and those deputies that violated his rights.”

Attorney Anastasios Manettas Searched in Court

Jimenez’s update also noted that Manettas is “scheduled for a bond hearing today for his client.” He shared, “I’m hoping he gets a bond. Mr. Farley meets all the criteria. The Ayala factors, which are the factors that the court considers in whether or not someone should be out on bond.” Among the alleged YSL affiliates on trial, Lil Miles is a standout as he has no prior criminal record and is a college graduate.

However, unlike bigger names like Thugger and Gunna, Farley is facing murder charges. He previously refused a plea deal from the prosecution, granting him probation in exchange for admitting that Young Stoner Life is a criminal street gang. Several others involved in the case have already taken deals, while others, such as the So Much Fun rapper, have been denied bond three times now. Are you surprised by the antics unfolding during the YSL RICO trial? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for any updates on Young Thug and his co-defendants.

Buju Banton & Snoop Dogg Live The “High Life” On New Collab

Jamaican dancehall star Buju Banton is ramping up for the release of his next project. This morning, he teamed up with Snoop Dogg for their first collaboration together, “High Life.” Fittingly released around the official smoker’s holiday, 4/20, the two come through with an uplifting and breezy reggae jam. Their shared appreciation for cannabis takes center stage in this one as they detail the medicinal and holistic purposes of the plant. “High life, good weed all day and night,” Banton sings on the hook.

On Snoop Dogg’s part, he seemingly revisits the Snoop Lion era of his career. The Long Beach native provides his best attempt at Jamaican Patois during his verse as he similarly reflects on his love for smoking the finest herb, singing, “Real Ganja baby inside Buckingham Palace/ New York to West coast love that shit green.” Snoop Dogg and Buju Banton might come from different places, and occupy different musical spaces but “High Life” is a perfect combination of their respective styles.

Snoop Dogg Connects With Buju Banton

“High Life” ft. Snoop Dogg kicks off the campaign for Buju Banton’s next studio album. The dancehall star has been particularly busy over the past two years, providing fans with an influx of music. Following the success of Upside Down 2020, which boasted appearances from Pharrell, Stephen Marley, and more, he delivered the Be Humble EP. Hopefully, he won’t wait long to share the release date for his next opus.

Snoop Dogg has been particularly busy. With the re-launch of Death Row Records in 2022, he finally returned the label’s iconic discography to streaming services earlier this month. Outside of benign an executive, Snoop’s also coming off of a prolific run in 2022 that included the release of Mount Westmore’s Snoop Cube 40 $hort, as well as a string of solo releases, such as I Still Got It with DJ Drama, and several compilation projects, like Death Row Summer. Check out Snoop and Buju’s new collab above.

Queen Latifah Movies: Her Best Roles

Queen Latifah is a superstar of her time, renowned for her rapping skills, and lauded as one of the top actresses in Hollywood today. She broke into film in the early ’90s and has since stockpiled over a hundred roles on television and cinema screens. In 2002, Latifah snatched an Academy Award nomination for her part in the big-screen version of Chicago. To celebrate this powerhouse of talent, we’ve developed the top favorite Queen Latifah movies, showing off an impressive variety of genres from drama to family films, comedy to musicals. Her presence is unmistakable whenever she appears on screen, so brimming with charisma and assurance that it’s no wonder we love her. Her unique range allows her to shine through each one, proving why she reigns supreme in the business.

7. Gina – Beauty Shop (2005)

Latifah is confident, and Beauty Shop is a delightfully amusing story of a woman taking control of her life. Not content to simply mimic Barbershop, this film has a much more believable narrative that goes beyond stand-up comedy or pratfalls. Queen Latifah leads as Gina, who recently moved from Chicago to Atlanta (where she made a brief appearance in the second installment of Barbershop). Consequently, her talent quickly lands her on top at a grand salon owned by the enigmatic Jorge Christophe, who happens to be the only man in the movie.

The beauty of movies of this nature is they can become a platform for larger-than-life characters. It’s like a variety show where each character has their moment to shine, such as when Miss Josephine, played by Alfre Woodard, gives a passionate rendition of Maya Angelou’s classic poem “Still I Rise.”

6. Ellie – Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006)

Latifah takes the lead role in the Ice Age franchise as Ellie, opposite Ray Romano’s Manny. Ellie and Manny, two woolly mammoths endangered by their ongoing animosity, embark on a daring quest to save their pal Sid the Sloth (John Leguizamo). Along with them come Crash (Sean William Scott) and Eddie (Josh Peck), Ellie’s mischievous brothers, two possums who constantly defy authority. With climate warming quickly, they have no choice but to race to the other side of the valley if they want to save Sid.

5. August Boatwright – The Secret Life of Bees (2008)

The Secret Life of Bees vividly depicts 1964 rural South Carolina, providing hope and light in enchanting parable form. Queen Latifah shone as August Boatwright, a mysterious figure trading in honey harvested from content bees. Her performance was remarkable. She lives with her two sisters, June (Alicia Keys) and May (Sophie Okonedo). Critics praised and commended Latifah’s masterful portrayal of Boatwright for giving the picture its backbone.

4. Cleo – Set It Off (1996)

Directed by F. Gary Gray, the film follows four African American women from the inner-city struggling financially. Desperate to improve their situation, they hatch an audacious plan to rob several banks in Los Angeles. Despite initial success, disagreements arise, leading to mistrust among them. Meanwhile, the brother of a slain policeman is on their tail. Queen Latifah stars as Cleo and received an NAACP Image Award nomination for her outstanding acting in this movie.

3. Miracles From Heaven (2016)

Anna Beam was a cheerful 10-year-old girl whose life changed after she developed a rare, incurable illness. Desperate to find a cure, her mother, Christy (Jennifer Garner), embarked on a relentless pursuit. Astonishingly, Anna made an incredible recovery after a near-fatal mishap that even baffled experts. Queen Latifah played Angela, a compassionate waitress who offered solace to the joyful young girl. Inspired by the true story of Christy Beam’s book Miracles From Heaven, this is one of those Queen Latifah movies that proves that anything is possible.

2. Bessie Smith – Bessie (2015)

Queen Latifah took on a daunting task when she agreed to star in the biopic of Bessie Smith. She stepped forward after a decade of hesitance, captivating the audience with her stirring portrayal marked by passion and profound intensity. She proves her skill and range as an actor, encompassing various emotions from longing to indignation. Latifah’s remarkable performance captivated viewers, conveying a vivid impression of real-life truth.

1. Mama Morton – Chicago (2002)

The decision to cast Queen Latifah as Matron Mama Morton in the movie Chicago was a highly contentious choice. Two bold singers, Velma and Roxie, find themselves behind bars, desperately needing aid from an unscrupulous lawyer. Thanks to her performance in Chicago, Latifah received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The movie ultimately won six Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
