Rapper Charged After Using Capitol Riot Photo Op For Album Artwork

It feels like a lifetime ago when the Capitol riot took place. Many right-wing and Trump-supporting individuals stormed the Capitol building in an attempt to change the outcome of the election. Authorities have been working diligently to arrest and charge any suspects who were involved including a man who recently used a photo op at the Capitol riot for the artwork of his new album.

Rapper Bugzie The Don, real name Antionne DeShaun Brodnax, has been charged with four federal charges including disorderly conduct in a Capitol building and demonstrating in a Capitol building, The Washington Post reports. The charges arrive after Brodnax took photos of himself smoking on top of a SWAT car during the January riot and used them for the cover art of his March album titled The Capital.

According to documents, Brodnax admitted to officers that he entered the Capitol building on Jan. 6th after they found him on social media. He told officials that he was in Washington, D.C. to shoot a music video when he saw a group of people walking into the Capitol Building and followed. He said that he walked around for photos and videos within the building.

The arrest occurred on March 11th, days after the release of his album. His attorneys are trying to prevent the government from accessing Brodnax’s social media accounts.

A Rapper Is In Trouble After Attending The Capitol Riot And Taking A Photo For An Album Cover

People who were at the infamous Capitol riot earlier this year have been getting exposed, and now a rapper has found himself in trouble after showing up to the Capitol, taking photos, and using one of them on an album cover.

Newsweek reports that Virginia-based rapper Bugzie The Don (real name Antionne DeShaun Brodnax) was pictured sitting on top of a SWAT truck as rioters stormed the Capitol building behind him. The image was used as the cover art for his album The Capitol, which was released in March.

Bugzie told the FBI that he was in DC on the day of the riot to shoot a music video. He also said he followed protestors and entered the building, but did so peacefully. He walked around, took photos and videos inside, and said he did not enter any office or chambers, nor did he engage in any violence or theft. He also noted that while inside, he received messages from friends informing him that video of him walking around was broadcast live on CNN.

In March, the rapper was charged with entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a capitol building; and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building.

Pooh Shiesty Explains When He Knew ‘Back In Blood’ Was A Hit For Uproxx’s ‘How I Blew Up’

Memphis native Pooh Shiesty is in the midst of a massive career breakout thanks to the viral success of his hit single “Back In Blood,” a star-making co-sign from trap rap godfather Gucci Mane, and his recently released debut mixtape Shiesty Season, which features appearances from big-name co-stars like 21 Savage, Lil Durk, and Memphis’s own Tay Keith.

Uproxx’s newest show, How I Blew Up narrated by Cherise Johnson, gives the Southern star the chance to tell the story of his rise to fame in his own words, from his upbringing in the Cane Creek Apartments to the moment he knew “Back In Blood” was smashing success. His breakout began with an attention-getting turn on “Breaking News,” which led to Gucci Mane reaching out to him in the dead of night. “Back In Blood,” though, was the catalyst for Pooh reaching his current level of renown after a snippet of Pooh and Lil Durk shooting the video circulated online. He just received his gold plaque for Shiesty Season, and details his plans for the future, which include his own label, Choppa Gang, supporting childhood friend and fellow rapper Big30.

Hardo Taps Pooh Shiesty & Deezlee For “Murda Boyz (Remix)”

Pittsburgh’s own Hardo has come through with another new single from his upcoming DJ Drama-hosted mixtape Fame or Feds 3, teaming up with 1017 breakout star Pooh Shiesty and Deezlee for a remix of “Murda Boyz.”

Once again taking to a sinister beat from Stevi B and Stoney, Hardo doesn’t exactly change much where his verse is concerned, opting to keep the same contribution as the original. Still, the Remix feels different enough thanks to its supporting cast, both of whom deliver exactly what the track title promises. Riding his momentum is Pooh Shiesty, who keeps that Shiesty Season spirit alive for the second verse. “When we beefin’ I don’t sleep unless I’m creepin’ in your tree,” he warns. “Hopping out with Dracos and those 223s.”

Be sure to keep an eye out for Hardo’s upcoming Fame or Feds 3 with DJ Drama, coming soon. We’ve already seen this new installment of “Murda Boyz,” as well as the recently released “Nothin To Me” with Peewee Longway and Doe Boy. Are you excited to see what Hardo has been cooking up?

Paris Texas Releases Debut Project “BOY ANONYMOUS”

Los Angeles dup Paris Texas have remained rather anonymous on the come-up but that’s really a testament to their music. The Los Angeles duo have been bubbling up in the underground West Coast scene throughout the past few months, specifically, as they ramped up the campaign for their debut project.

Following the success of singles like “Force Of Habit” and “HEAVY METAL,” they’ve arrived with their debut project BOY ANONYMOUS in full. The eight-track effort is a compact effort with production that’s as dreamy as it is grungy, speaking to their wide array of influences. The genre-bending effort is completely featureless, allowing the duo, consisting of Louie Pastel and Felix, to offer a well-pronounced introduction to the masses.

Mark Wahlberg Wrecks Joyner Lucas’ Car In The High-Speed ‘Zim Zimma’ Video. With Diddy And George Lopez

If you know anything about hip-hop at all, you’ll probably recognize the title of Joyner Lucas‘ new single “Zim Zimma” as the contorted, familiar catchphrase coined by Beenie Man on his 1998 hit “Who Am I” (repurposed from Missy Elliott’s 1997 debut single “The Rain [Supa Dupa Fly]“) in which Beenie wonders “Who’s got the keys to my Beema?” In Joyner’s case, it turns out to be none other than actor/rapper/fast-driving car enthusiast Mark Wahlberg. Like Lucas, Wahlberg hails from Massachusetts, so it’s no surprise that the two are acquainted.

Waving off Joyner’s initial concerns, Mark promises to teach him “how to drive this b*tch” before wrecking the car in a collision with a dirt pile. While Mark tries to downplay the damage, an exasperated Joyner leaves him to deal with the mess, strolling the streets of Beverly Hills to his “uncle George’s” house — who turns out to be comedian George Lopez. After some finagling, Joyner manages to borrow his Unc’s BMW — although he’s disappointed to discover it’s more “Beater” than “Beamer.” A final scene sees Joyner cruising in (or rather, on top of) a miniature version of the car for kids alongside yet another famous face: Diddy — aka “Love” — who mugs the camera as Lucas launches into a lightspeed display of multisyllabic lyricism.

“Zim Zimma” follows Lucas’ Lil Baby collaboration “Ramen & OJ” and similarly quirky, high-concept music video for “Will Smith.”

Bobby Shmurda Roasted By Fans For His New Dance

The internet can be a pretty ruthless place. For the last six years, hip-hop fans have been rallying for the release of New York rapper Bobby Shmurda, who was incarcerated for conspiracy to commit murder, reckless endangerment, and drug and gun possession charges. This year, the GS9 representative was finally released, marking a celebratory moment for the 26-year-old rapper, his family, friends, and fans. However, almost immediately after getting home, Bobby learned that not everyone was on his side, getting clowned over his rumored girlfriend.

While he fought back against the attempted humiliation at the time, people have grown impatient with Bobby, who has yet to release new music since getting out. The young man has been living his life and having lots of fun, as evidenced by the content he’s been posting on social media. However, some fans have simply gotten tired of waiting, responding to one of his recent videos where he shows off his new dance moves and roasting him.

“We waited 7 years for this,” asked one fan in the comments. That sentiment was echoed by hundreds of others who uttered the same joke on differing platforms. “Bobby doin everything but dropping da album,” said another commenter.

When the video was posted to Akademiks’ page on Instagram, fans were a little less tame, with some even taking virtual jabs at Bobby. “He learned that dance in jail,” laughed one person. “I know son not twerking,” added another.

We’ll keep you updated on Bobby Shmurda’s upcoming new music releases. Until then, what do you think of his dance? Read through some of the comments below.
