Happy Birthday To Wu Tang Clan’s Method Man!

Screen Shot 2022 03 02 at 8.30.49 AM

On this date in 1971, the Shaolin Island emcee who was virtually named after the term “John Blaze”, was born in Long Island, New York.

Admired for his unique voice and witty lyrics, Method Man is known for his one of a kind sound. The Long Island-born/Staten Island bred rapper raised the bar for the ideal Shaolin emcee alongside Wu brothers Raekwon and Ghostface Killah. Trailblazing the 90s, Johnny Blaze has pioneered an impressive portion of verses that are considered as one of the greatest in hip-hop history. His unpredictably bouncy flow hit wax in 1993 on Wu-Tang’s debut Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers, which featured what would later become his anthem, “M.E.T.H.O.D. M.A.N.” His signature stance continued into creating essential tunes as featured in his 1994 solo debut, Tical, along with guest features on the solo debuts of fellow Wu members and the only featured emcee on Biggie’s Ready To Die LP.

The wavering style and persona of Method Man have allowed him to flourish in many different pursuits in both music and entertainment. His iconic r&b collaboration with Mary J. Blige  “I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By” is sanctioned as a cult classic and also snagged the class-act rapper a Grammy in 1996. Dubbing another innovative vibe, his musical duality with Redman became one of the most distinct and successful in the light of hip-hop duos, which triggered Method Man’s acting career. Bound to craft commendable works, starting from his role as Father Sha in Belly (1998), to How High, and now Power II: Book Of Ghost, the man with the iron lung has maintained a stellar track record of creating classics that are timeless. His deeds as an emcee, actor, showman, and overall creative make him one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time. A certified legend.

Happy born day to Meth!

Kanye West, Future and Kendrick Lamar to Headline Rolling Loud Miami

Kanye West Italian Wedding

Rolling Loud will kick off festival season as it announced its Miami lineup. This year, Kanye West, Future, and Kendrick Lamar are all set to be headliners. Still, there will also be sets from Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Baby Keem, Lil Baby, Gunna, Lil Durk, Saweetie, City Girls, Gucci Mane, Three 6 Mafia, Flo Milli, A$AP Ferg, and more.

Kanye will get things going for the first night, while Future headlines on Saturday and Kendrick closes on Sunday.

The two-day music festival will take place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on July 22-24. Another person who will be taking the stage will be DaBaby. Last year at this event, DaBaby made a controversial comment that people viewed as homophobic and insensitive to those affected with HIV. As a result, the cancel culture attempted to cancel the Charlotte rapper’s career, but thanks to the forgiveness of Hip-Hop fans, they didn’t.

DaBaby later apologized to the HIV community during a virtual meeting. Following the meeting, community leaders and attendees said in a joint statement that the rapper had “apologized for the inaccurate and hurtful comments he made about people living with HIV.”

How would a Kodak Black and Beyoncé song sound? The “Super Gremlin” can quickly tell you.

Kodak Black was not shy about naming the most coveted future collaborator. What would have been a surprise to many may not be a surprise. Kodak Black is fresh off of his 4th studio album, Back For Everything. The “Zeze” rapper currently holds the 5th spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 charts with “Super Gremlin.” The track debuted in the top 10 upon its release.

The Florida native recently appeared on Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast with Gille and Walo.

During the interview, Gillie asked Kodak, “which artist he would want to work with whom he hasn’t worked with already?”

With no hesitation, Kodak says Beyoncé. Then he proceeds to sing the line he has already written for her.

“Here’s some pictures of your family and our children, baby boy you’re the only one I’m missing,” Yak sings as he replicates Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable” melody.

Then he says he has the rest of the song already written. Based on Kodak’s musical ability to write melodies and hooks, the Queen Bey feature is only a matter of time.

Dame Dash Tells Shannon Sharpe He Believed In Jay-Z After He Saw His Air Force 1’s

Dame Dash Responds to JAY-Z's Lawsuit Over 'Reasonable Doubt' NFT

For a lot of people, it might be the talent or confidence an artist exudes that might be the reason a lot of people believe in them early on. However, for Dame Dash, it was a pair of Air Force 1’s that made him believe in Jay-Z.

Dame recently appeared on the latest episode of Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast where he told a story about how he was introduced to Jay-Z through DJ Clark Kent. “What made you think a 26-year-old rapper could be big in the industry?” Sharpe asked.

Dash responded, “Cause he had on Nike Airs.” Dame went on to explain how he was from Harlem and Jay was from Brooklyn. Air Force 1’s were big in Harlem but weren’t as widely worn (at the time) in Brooklyn. “Back in those days, Brooklyn dudes didn’t wear Nike Airs. So, that was a flag for me.”

Sharpe went on to note how Dame has a peculiar way of believing in someone based on their appearance.

“Seems like it works, doesn’t it?” Dame responded

Kodak Black Responds To Wack 100’s Claims Of Why He Was Shot In L.A. “Hell No”

Kodak Black survivors of breast cancer

Kodak Black was shot outside of Justin Bieber’s Super Bowl party in L.A. back in February. Following the shooting, Wack 100 claimed that Kodak was shot because of comments he made about Lauren London after Nipsey Hussle’s untimely death.

“On some clout chasing shit,” Wack said in a Clubhouse room following Kodak’s shooting. “Talking about, ‘What’s that shit you said about Lauren London? Get the fuck out of here!’ But Kodak got off!”

Kodak recently responded to Wack 100’s claims, denying the shooting had anything to do with his Lauren London comments.

“Hell no,” Kodak told 99Jamz radio host Supa Cindy. “I watched that joint, he was basically saying, man, he said people were trying to troll and say that. Wack stood on that business, for real.”

Almost immediately following Nipsey’s death in 2019, Kodak angered many people when he said he wanted to try to get with Lauren London. “She finna be out here single! She finna be a whole widow out here. I’ll be the best man I could be for her. I’ll give her a whole year, she might need a whole year to be crying and shit for dude.”

Kodak added, “I ain’t trying to shoot at her. I’m saying, listen, she can do two, three years. I’ll try to be like a friend to holla, a shoulder to lean on. You can call my line.”

50 Cent Threatens To Pull Power Universe From Starz: “If I Told You How Much Dumb Sh*t I Deal With Over Here”

50 Cent Reacts to Surgeon Who Saved His Life After He Was Shot Pleading Guilty to Health Care Fraud

50 Cent has been the reason for a lot of the Starz network success since the hit show Power debuted in 2014. The show has spawned 3 spinoffs and as a result of the Power universe’s success, 50 has been able to greenlight other shows for the network. That doesn’t go to say that Fif has not had his fair share of problems with Starz. In a recent Instagram post, Fif seemed to have had enough and is ready to pull the Power universe from Starz.

“This is me packing my stuff, STARZ Sucks,” Fif captioned an instagram post with a video of a man packing a suitcase. “My deal is up over here I’m out. They Renewed High town and FORCE is the highest rated show they have it sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb shit I deal with over here.”

Fif continued his tirade in multiple IG posts. “Hold my calls i’m traveling, getting the fvck away from STARZ.”

In other posts, he posted pictures of people packing their luggage and captioned the pictures, calling on executives from his G-Unit Film & Television company, including Anil Kurian, Head of Development for G-Unit Film & Television to pack their bags.

“Anil get your fvcking bag’s in the car now, we are out of here, take that fvcking sign off the door no more G-unit film and television over here,” he wrote.

In 2018, Fif signed a 4 year deal with the network that was reportedly worth $150 million. As he enters the final ear in his contact, it might be possible we see Fif leave the network and take the Power universe with him.

Jussie Smollett is Seeking a New Trial in Hoax Hate Crime Case

jussiesmollet

Jussie Smollett is looking for a new trial. According to TMZ, the convicted hoax artist is not accepting his not-guilty verdict and is also pointing fingers at issues with the jury selection process.

In new legal filings, Smollett wants to reverse the conviction and if that isn’t possible, wants to get a new trial. Smollett’s lawyers state they were unable to speak with potential jurors and vet them for the case. The legal team also states prosecutors show a pattern of racism in selecting jurors.

In addition, the legal team states the judge wrongfully didn’t allow the media and public in the courtroom, while the prosecution pressured witnesses into false statements.

In December, Jussie Smollett was found guilty of 5 counts of disorderly conduct for lying to the Chicago Police Department over a hate crime, which is now declared a hoax. Smollett staged a racist, homophobic attack against himself in the Chicago neighborhood of Streeterville in January 2019.

According to ABC 7 Chicago, Smollett, now a convicted felon, showed no emotion as the verdict was read. he faced six counts of felony disorderly conduct, the last count was dismissed. The dismissal of the sixth charge occurred because he altered his statement to Detective Robert Graves in Feb of 2019, stating the attacker was not white, instead opting for “pale-skinned.”

Smollett is released on a recognizance bond but he will return to Chicago for sentencing, where he faces between one and three years for each conviction. Experts state it is likely the Empire star will get probation due to having no criminal history. A sentencing date has not been set.
