Top Dawg Entertainment Signs Tampa Rapper Doechii To Its Roster

Upcoming Tampa rapper, Doechii formerly known as Iamdoechii is joining Top Dawg Entertainment. HITS Daily Double reported Tuesday that Doechii has signed a deal with the West Coast label.

2021 was a break out year for the Isaiah Rashad collaborator who gained momentum with a new audience from her viral TikTok song “Yucky Blucky Fruitcake” and a feature on “Wat U Sed” from Rashad’s The House Is Burning LP.

The announcement comes after fans have been wondering what the future looks like for TDE.

In August, Kendrick Lamar shocked the world when he announced his next album would be his final for the famed label.

Doechii brings a mixture of Hip Hop, R&B and Electro-Pop. The new TDE signee took to social media to promote her next feature on David Guetta and Afrojack’s “Trampoline” which also boast collabs from Missy Elliott and Bia.

Hip Hop’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Only Draws 33 FCC Complaints Less Than Past Shows

The FCC says this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show only brought in 33 complaints from viewers. This year’s historic performance saw Hip Hop icons Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, and Eminem share the stage with R&B Queen Mary J. Blige.

The set kicked off with Dr. Dre sitting at an enormous mixing board before “The Next Episode” kicked off sending the stadium into an uproar.

One viewer criticized the “scantily clad female dancers who belong in a strip club not on national TV.”

Another Super Bowl LVI viewer called 50 Cent’s surprise set “trash” that included “slutty looking women dancing near stripper poles.”

However, the number of complaints was down drastically from the 2020 performance that featured Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. About 1300 viewers filed complaints following their performance at Super Bowl 54.

Yahoo News reports, more than 540,000 complaints were made to the FCC when Janet Jackson suffered an infamous “wardrobe malfunction” and her breast was exposed, leading to a $550,000 fine for CBS and MTV, which was eventually dismissed.

DJ Akademiks’ attention has turned from Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion to Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg. After a wild week that saw Ak attacking Hip Hop’s Hottie, Rosenberg let off his thoughts: “Akademiks talks a lot of trash for someone who would go broke if Twitch and YouTube got shut down.”

From there, Ak let off his clip:

“Rosenberg, I probably made more this year on Spotify than you’ve made your entire career at Hot 97. I don’t fck with y’all nggas. Y’all been knew. I never apologize to none of y’all, I ain’t fck with y’all, I created my own sht. So, good, I’m glad you said that. It’s on now.”

Ak would go on to say they can fight. “We can meet up and box. I’m not doing it on no celebrity thing.”

With all the success 50 Cent and the STARZ Network has seen with the Power series and Power Universe, one would assume that the connection between producer and network would be a smooth one but that’s certainly not the case with Fif and STARZ.

I na surprising post blasting the network, 50 posted, “This is me packing my stuff, STARZ 😵🍆Sucks, my deal is up over here I’m out. They Renewed High town and FORCE is the highest-rated show they have sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb shit I deal with over here. you would think they all went to school on a small yellow bus. 🚌” He ended the post with, “Hold my calls i’m traveling, 🏃‍♂️💨 getting the f**k away from STARZ.”

Chingy Says He Was Not Offended by Racist Meme Posted by Estee Lauder Exec

Chingy is unbothered about the racist meme shared by an Estee Lauder Executive that featured his name. Over the weekend, the senior executive, John Demsey, shared a racist meme, allegedly without reading it.

Demsey apologized online, stating he made “the terrible mistake of carelessly reposting a racist meme without reading it before hand.” Chingy commented on the post that he “didn’t take it a way at all.”

Chingy went on to speak a bit more about the meme. “Matter fact I can tell you wurr jus trying to be hip like the kids today an it jus came out the wrong way. I didn’t see it as being a racial slurr either my brother. I love you guys products always have and I hope you keep yurr job my man.”

In a memo, Estee Lauder revealed Demsey will retire effective this Friday: “This decision is the result of his recent Instagram posts, which do not reflect the values of The Estée Lauder Companies, have caused widespread offense, are damaging to our efforts to drive inclusivity both inside and outside our walls, and do not reflect the judgment we expect of our leaders.”

Caretaker Of Young Dolph’s Memorial Site Shot and Killed

According to several confirmed reports, one of the people who was responsible for taking care of the memorial site of slain Memphis rapper Young Dolph was also shot and killed this past week in Memphis.

Friends of Jeremiah Taylor are in disbelief over the senseless killing of the young man who took on the responsibility of keeping Young Dolph’s memorial in front of Makeda’s Cookies, the place where Dolph was murdered on November 17, clean and presentable.

“Jeremiah was a great person,” said friend and community activist Frank Gottie. “He was so creative. He was so on point. He was helpful, he would help anybody.”

Taylor’s body was found on Getwell Road in Memphis and police are looking for answers.

Taylor spoke to ABC news affiliate in Memphis ABC 24 about care taking for the memorial, saying, “I want people around the world to know we care about Dolph. The love he had with people. A lot of people are realizing and now seeing the person that he always was. Taking care of his community, being a philanthropist, and really promoting financial independence. [It’s] a moral that he taught.”

Kanye West Asks Legal Team to “Expedite” His Divorce from Kim Kardashian

It appears Kanye West is giving up on his effort to save his marriage with Kim Kardashian. According to Hollywood Unlocked, YE has asked his new set of attorneys to expedite their divorce proceedings.

Legal representation for both parties will meet in court on Wednesday. Ahead of the date, YE released a statement:

“I’ve asked my team to expedite the dissolution of my marriage to Kim so I can put my entire attention into our beautiful children”

Ahead of this recent news, Kanye called off potential attacks on Kim Kardashian’s current suitor, Pete Davidson. After losing his new bae, Julia Fox, YE focused on telling his following to not “do anything physical” to Davidson. YE hit Instagram and shared a text from Kim stating he is “creating a dangerous and scary environment” that poses a possibility of harm being done to Davidson.

“I will always do everything to protect you and our family forever,” YE responded. “And I listened to you and told everyone to make sure nothing physical happens to Skete.” 

He then added to his fans that he will “handle the situation myself.”

YG has taken his “Scared Money” single to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The Cali rapper hit the stage with the help of Moneybagg Yo for an intimate performance dominated by a blue hue.

Def Jam Recordings released YG’s “Scared Money” single and video, which features J Cole and Moneybagg Yo, last February. “Scared Money” is the first single off PRAY FOR ME, the rapper’s upcoming sixth studio album.

In the video, YG dons an all-red suit at the top of a Brinks truck, before standing with his mob of robbers. J. Cole joins in on the robbery in all Black before Moneybagg Yo also comes in with the assist. You can check out the new release below.
