Chingy Assures He’s Not “Down Bad” & Drops Out Of Donald Trump’s LGBT Event After Immense Backlash

Chingy has decided not to perform at the Log Cabin Republicans’ upcoming Red White & Rock concert in Nashville, Tennesee after facing tons of backlash on social media for doing so. When Baller Alert shared a compilation of the criticism on Instagram, Chingy hopped in the comments to defend his initial decision to perform. He argued that he’s not a supporter of Donald Trump and was just doing his job.

“I’m a say this one time,” he began. “My job is to perform and get paid to perform, not caurr [sic] about politics. Now y’all find [something] else to do with yurr [sic] time.” As fans joked in response that he was “down bad” financially, he fired back: “You can’t be down bad when you just bought a 500k house. Those people don’t hate me because they love my music. Music isn’t racist and that’s how I play it… I’m a performers w[h]ether theses [sic] people political homosexual or whatever they all love music… [M]y job as an artist is to perform and make timeless music.”

Eventually, Chingy confirmed that he would be dropping out of the event. He wrote on Instagram: “YOU KNO WHAT JUS CAUSE I DONT WANT TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS MESS. I HAVE DECLINED PERFORMING AND NO IM NOT A TRUMP SUPPORTER NOT SUPPORTER OF ANYONE ELSE BUT CHINGY. THURR YOU HAVE IT.”

Appearing on Fox & Friends after taking on Harris in a debate, he said of the singer: “Well, I actually like Mrs. [Patrick] Mahomes much better. If you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan. I was not a Taylor Swift fan,” he said. Swift has attended many Kansas City Chiefs games alongside Britney Mahomes. On Sunday, she watched as her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, helped the team beat the Cincinnati Bengals.

Ice Cube must be feeling pretty annoyed these days, as the Internet wants him to respond to four-year-old comments he made online. Moreover, folks recently resurfaced a September 2020 video of him explaining why the Black community should be skeptical of participating in electoral politics. “Be skeptical of anybody telling you to vote and not telling you to ask for anything or to tell you to just vote and not to get anything for your vote,” the Los Angeles rapper posited. “That’s not how it works. That’s not the process. You don’t vote just to vote. You vote because you’re getting something, or your community is getting something.

“A lot of people have been in that place for a long time and we ain’t got s**t,” Ice Cube continued. “That s**t is going to end. We are going to get what we are supposed to get, period. And anybody asking you not to ask, I wouldn’t listen to them because that’s the process. Every community asks for what they want.” Now, people are reposting and debating this clip, which eventually caught his attention.

Some blasted the anti-vaccine sentiment, whereas others think that his combativeness is making everyone misinterpret and misunderstand his main point. Voter skepticism and healthy bipartisan distrust is important, but perhaps not in the exact and particular way that Cube suggests.

Meanwhile, another hot take of Ice Cube’s these days concerns the Diddy scandal. “I believe he’s being targeted,” he claimed on the PBD podcast. “I believe someone has the power to pull the trigger to make this stuff, this domino effect, happen. Ice Cube is getting slammed on social media for his past comments on voting. The backlash appears to be in response to a resurfaced video of Cube rebuking the idea of voting for the Democratic party without demanding action in exchange for doing so. He originally posted it on social media in September 2020.

“Ice Cube is out here telling people not to vote again,” one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote over the weekend. “While he sits in his million dollar mansion and Black folks in the south are getting kicked off their Medicaid.” Another added: “Ice Cube is estimated to be worth $160M, he can’t comprehend why people with diabetes are living better lives under the Biden Administration or why people need their medicaid, Medicare, social security. Living in a wealthy gated community has damaged this man head from reality.”

His complaints centered around Joe Biden passing the Anti-Asian Hate Crime Bill. He found the emphasis on passing a bill to protect the Asian community hypocritical. In doing so, he claimed they left the Black and Brown communities behind.

“President Biden and Kamala Harris signed an Asian Hate Crime Bill, which makes it beyond illegal to ever purposely or maliciously do anything to anybody in the Asian community. And there was a spike in crimes and criminal behavior in and around COVID allegedly and specifically motivated by Donald Trump. So everybody started treating Asians… beating them, killing them, shooting them, stabbing them, hurting them. And then [Biden] gets into the White House and skips over every Black and Brown Mexican and Latino that has been getting killed like flies and he makes it a low: Asian Hate Crime Bill,” Tyrese began.

Fivio Foreign and Anuel AA were both in attendance at Donald Trump’s rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on Friday. Fivio has been vocal in his support of the former President in recent months. During his speech at the rally in Pennsylvania, Trump ranted about the New York Times while labeling journalists the “enemy of the people,” called out “Comrade Kamala [Harris],” and “Tampon Tim [Walz],” and more. YG is still not a fan of Donald Trump and labeled the former President “racist” during an interview with Adin Ross on Sunday. The West Coast rapper famously teamed up with Nipsey Hussle for the 2016 single, “FDT (F*ck Donald Trump).” A key part of the debate centered around police brutality and the idea of giving officers federal immunity.

“I’m Black,” YG began. “I got a lot of homies and friends that done been in police brutality situations where they ain’t really do nothing wrong. Police trippin’ out and n****s end up dead or f*cked up in jail. Trump, he thinks different and I don’t f*ck with that.”
