Earthgang Robs An Art Museum And Shows Off Their Stolen Goods In Their Mischievous ‘Billi’ Video

Earthgang has been smooth sailing since they released their long-awaited sophomore album Ghetto Gods. In their continued effort to promote the project, the Atlanta rap duo returns with a new video for “Billi.” The track, which features a verse from fellow ATLien Future, is a standout from the project and the trio uses it to express their desire to be as rich as possible. In the song’s video, which dropped without Future’s presence in it, Earthgang robs an art museum with help from a few ladies. While the duo could just run off with their stolen goods, they decide to kick it in the museum and flaunt their acquisitions which include a shiny diamond and expensive artifacts.

The video for “Billi” arrives after Earthgang supplied visuals for other Ghetto Gods tracks like “Strong Friends,” “American Horror Story,” “Amen,” and “All Eyez On Me.” As for the album itself, Ghetto Gods features 17 songs and additional guest appearances from J. Cole, Ari Lennox, JID, Musiq Soulchild, Baby Tate, Nick Cannon, and more.

Earthgang’s new video was also released after they contributed three tracks — “Ghetto Gods Freestyle,” “Jozi Flows,” and “Everybody Ain’t Sh*t” — to Dreamville’s newly-released project, D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape.

Dreamville Announces Their ‘D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape’ With DJ Drama And Shares Its Release Date

Nearly three summers ago, Dreamville dropped one of hip-hop’s most collaborative projects with Revenge Of The Dreamers III. The compilation brought a total of 35 artists and 27 producers together for the 18-track effort. Now it seems like for their latest project, Dreamville will be keeping things in-house with a little help from DJ Drama. Days before their upcoming Dreamville Festival, the label founded by J. Cole and his manager Ibrahim Hamad announced their D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape with DJ Drama.

The announcement also revealed that the upcoming project will be released tomorrow, March 31, at 7pm EST/4pm PST. The news was shared with a trailer that was made up of a collage of videos that featured the entire Dreamville roster, that being J. Cole, Ari Lennox, JID, Earthgang, Cozz, Bas, Lute, and Omen. D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape will be the latest in Dreamville’s collection of collaborative projects which dates back to 2014 with Revenge of the Dreamers, a project that was followed up by 2015’s Revenge of the Dreamers II.

As for the label’s Dreamville Festival, that’s set to go down on April 2 and 3 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Across the weekend, festivalgoers will catch appearances from the Dreamville cast, Lil Wayne, Jeezy, Moneybagg Yo, Wale, Rico Nasty, Fivio Foreign, Larry June, Bia, Morray, Blxst, T-Pain, and more.

Earthgang Advocates For Checking In On Your ‘Strong Friends’ In Their Sincere New Video

More than two years after they released their stellar debut album Mirrorland, Earthgang finally returned to the scene with their sophomore release Ghetto Gods. It presents 17 songs with fellow Dreamville artists J. Cole, Ari Lennox, and JID as well as additional appearances from Future, Musiq Soulchild, Baby Tate, Nick Cannon, and more. Earthgang are gearing up to promote the project with a tour across North America and Euroupe, but until then, they’re back with more content that’s tied to the album thanks to a new video for “Strong Friends.”

The track is one of the more down-to-earth songs on Ghetto Gods as it finds Earthgang advocating for folks to check in on the people around them who they’ve labeled as the “strong friend.” In the video, Earthgang cruises around town with a couple of members from their crew, and during their journey, they invite a few more friends on the drive by allowing them to sit on the roof of their already-crowded vehicle.

The video arrives after Earthgang brought their talents to The Tonight Show to perform “Lie To Me.” They also dropped a music video for “American Horror Story” which doubled as the first episode of The Ghetto Gods Show.

Earthgang Unveil A Music Video For ‘American Horror Story,’ Which Is Episode 1 Of ‘The Ghetto Gods Show’

Earlier this year, Atlanta duo Earthgang announced the release date for Ghetto Gods, their long-awaited follow-up to Mirrorland. It finally came out last month with features from Future, 2 Chainz, Nick Cannon, J. Cole (who signed them to his Dreamville label), Baby Tate, CeeLo Green (despite some serious accusations), and more.

They’re back today with a music video for “American Horror Story,” which is episode 1 of The Ghetto Gods Show. It takes the storytelling of the track to the next level with evocative visuals, while they confront class struggles: “Life hard enough just thinking bout rent / Coulda bought my freedom all the money I spent. / Ain’t that some sh*t / I mean for real all this money we got and we still can’t help Flint.” The video ends on a cliffhanger with the words: “To be continued…”

This song was one of the first singles to be released off the album, along with “Options” and its remix with Coi Leray, as well as “Erykah,” an ode to R&B pioneer Erykah Badu. Last year, they stayed busy by working with the rest of the Spillage Village collective, including 6lack, JID, and Mereba, on their Spilligion album.

Earthgang Deliver A Hypnotic Late-Night Performance Of ‘Ghetto Gods’ Standout ‘Lie To Me’ On ‘Fallon’

Earthgang released their second album Ghetto Gods at the end of February, completing a rollout that included hype releases for “Options” — and its remix featuring Coi Leray — “Erykah,” “American Horror Story,” “All Eyes On Me,” and “Amen.” However, now that it’s out, they aren’t going to slack off. Instead, they brought one of the album’s poignant crowd-pleasers, “Lie To Me,” to a smooth performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon along with their accomplished backing band.

The Atlanta duo took to a smoky stage in front of a large video screen flashing images of the New York City skyline and streets, with Olu and WowGr8 presenting their usual yin-yang clash of styles. While Olu went typically shirtless, wearing a monogrammed silk scarf as a belt, his partner-in-rhyme sported a Canadian tuxedo with a plain black t-shirt. Meanwhile, their band embellished the hypnotic beat with unexpected flourishes that gave the normally stripped-down instrumental a new gravity that built to an impressive crescendo.

Now that Earthgang’s long-awaited, oft-delayed album is finally out in the world, fans will be able to catch the duo at the upcoming 2022 Dreamville Festival on April 2 and 3 in Raleigh, North Carolina, alongside a stunning lineup including Ashanti and Ja Rule, DJ Drama supported by Gangsta Grillz alumni Jeezy, Lil Wayne, and T.I., Kehlani, Lil Baby, T-Pain, and Wizkid.
