Doja Cat’s Newly Announced ‘Demons’ Single And Latest Tattoo Has Users Online Begging Her To Step Away From The Dark Side

When Doja Cat returned from her brief musical hiatus with a new single, “Attention,” few could have expected the wave of controversies that would soon follow. For weeks, the public has criticized Doja for her rumored relationship with J Cyrus, her latest body art, and more. But even after losing over $250,000 followers on Instagram, she has no regrets. In fact, she recently revealed that she finally feels free to be her true self.

Despite this, Doja’s remaining fans’ concerns have continued to grow. Her newly announced single and her reported new tattoo aren’t helping to ease any of their anxiety. Following her previously shared track, “Paint The Town Red,” Doja is reportedly gearing up to drop her next single, titled “Demons,” soon. In the cover art for the song, Doja appears to be sporting black body paint from head to toe as she walks a ceiling.

After Doja shared images of her anatomical bat tattoo, fans called the piece demonic. Doja quickly clapped back with a history lesson before replying, “Your fear is not my problem.” To troll people who continued to criticize her, in her video for “Paint The Town Red,” she appeared side-by-side with the grim reaper. A screenshot captured by Saycheese showed another new tattoo, this one of a scythe behind her ear.

Fans immediately chimed in after the images were shared by the outlet. One wrote, “She needs to stop at this point.”

Another said, “She’s not even looking healthy, and she’s continuously making herself look more scarier.”

“Someone should check on her,” added another.

Doja Cat hasn’t spoken about her latest body modification, but with The Scarlet Tour starring her set to start soon, don’t be surprised if her extensive collection grows further.

Doja Cat Reflected On Her Recent Drama With Fans And Teased Something Coming Soon

Over the past month or so, Doja Cat has had a combative relationship with some of her fans. She criticized fans who might be too enthusiastic, after which she lost a quarter million Instagram followers. She’s not sweating that, though, as she later explained, “Seeing all these people unfollow me makes me feel like I’ve defeated a large beast that’s been holding me down for so long. And it feels like I can reconnect with the people who really matter and love me for who I am and not for who I was. I feel free.”

Now she’s spoken a bit more on that thread in some new Instagram Story posts.

Last night (August 22), Doja shared an Instagram Story that read, “‘When you die, nobody is going to give a f*ck what you tweeted.’ – Gaga.” (Per NME, the quote comes from a 2014 SXSW performance and to be precise, Lady Gaga actually said, “When you leave this Earth, no one’s gonna give a f*ck what you tweeted.”)

In another Story, Doja wrote, “All that matters to me is that my fans know who I am and the others are stuck trying to figure out.”

Beyond that, she also appeared to tease something new coming soon. She shared a photo of a human shadow (hers, presumably) on the wall. The figure strikes a pose while sporting devil horns and a protruding spine. The post caption reads, “9.1.23 [hourglass emoji].”

D4VD Added To The Second Leg Of SZA’s “SOS” Tour

SZA is still on a massive tour following the release of her long-awaited new album SOS last year. Starting next month, she will embark on a second leg of the SOS tour and will be joined by a new special guest. Today she announced that Texas singer-songwriter D4VD will be joining her on tour from September 20 until October 29. He made the announcement himself on Instagram with a post of the upcoming tour dates. “TRYING NOT TO PANIC @sza THANK U FOR HAVING ME ON TOURRRR 🛟 I cannot believe my eyes right now this is going to be INSANE,” the caption of his post read.

That won’t be the only opportunity for fans to see SZA soon. She was just announced as a headliner at Tyler, The Creator’s Flog Gnaw festival. The fest is returning for a 2023 edition after years off following the pandemic. It’s the same festival where Drake was once booed off-stage during a surprise set because fans were expecting Frank Ocean to perform. She joins Kendrick Lamar, Clipse, Baby Keem, Ice Spice, and many more in the impressive roster of performers.

SZA Taps D4VD For The Rest Of Her Tour

Earlier this month, DJ Akademiks sparked outrage for comments he made about SZA’s weight. “Let me keep it a bean, SZA is as fat as me. That’s 100 percent facts. This is why when b*tches call me fat, I be laughing,” AK ranted. He went on to describe the R&B darling as being “built like a smart car.”

SZA has had two tracks become stable hits in 2023. Her song “Kill Bill” has been one of the biggest hits of the year so far and hit number one on the Hot 100 when she teamed up with Doja Cat for a remix. Her song “Snooze” has also stuck around on the charts and entered the top 20 earlier this month. What do you think of D4VD serving as the opening act on the next leg of SZA’s SOS tour? Let us know in the comment section below.

Doja Cat’s Latest Photo Dump Is Shooting For Meme Status

Over the past few months, the Grammy-award-winning artist Doja Cat has been making headlines for her left-field comments and photos. Recently, she got into an argument with her social media followers about not loving her fans. A series of tweets began when Doja said, “My life my rules my style my attitude.” The person responded back, “I wanna hear you say (I do love you guys) as usual you say to your fans.” Very candidly Doja clapped back with, “I don’t though cuz i don’t even know yall.”

It was pretty heated, especially when another fan chimed in: “and we don’t know you. but we have supported you through thick and thin. Mind you you’d be NOTHING without us. you’d be working at a grocery store making songs on f**king garage band miss high school drop out…” But the craziness continues on Instagram. The platinum-recording rapper and singer posted an odd thirst trap, with her forehead appearing larger than normal. This time though there are no revealing photos, as Doja aims for the memes with this recent collection of images.

As you can see above, the photos include everything from blurred moving cars on a highway, to a two-headed baby goat-looking creature, to a dog with an extremely long neck. Doja Cat is definitely showing her creative and wacky side, especially with these photos captioned with, “roflcopter.” But some are sticking with her in the comments, with Ice Spice saying, “sexy.” A fan also writes, “girls throw together an obs[cure] set of photos and y’all think she’s crazy lol.” Doja is living care-free and ignoring the haters at every turn and there is nothing wrong with that.

Doja Cat Would Like To ‘Learn Martial Arts’ And Star In A Movie Like ‘John Wick,’ Which Would Mean Putting Music On Pause

Over the past few weeks, Doja Cat has proven to be a polarizing figure in music. She has not minced words about her frustrations with the industry, and even the fandoms that come with being a pop star.

Still, she is looking forward to sharing her upcoming fourth studio album, Scarlet, and going on tour with Ice Spice and Doechii. But perhaps once the impending Scarlet era comes to a close, Doja will explore some new avenues.

In a newly published interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Doja said she would like to give acting a spin.

“I would love to do movies that I believe in,” said Doja. “I would have to stop the music for a minute. But I would be down to immerse myself in acting for a certain period of time. I love comedies and action films. I want to learn martial arts and be in a film like John Wick.”

In addition to acting, Doja said she would like to “make clothing” and “dabble in makeup.”

Ahead of Scarlet, Doja has shared two singles — the downtempo, rap-focused “Attention” and the upbeat, rhythmic “Paint The Town Red.” If this is any indication of what her new album will sound like, the Scarlet era seems to be promising.

Doja Cat Said She ‘Feels Free’ After Being Unfollowed By Thousands Of Fans

When fans got upset with Doja Cat for joking that she “tricked” them with her last few albums, she apparently decided to really lean into the tension between art and commerce. The result: She ended July having lost 250,000 Instagram followers and watched swarms (heh) of Doja Cat fan accounts deactivated in protest. To hear her tell it, though, she’s just fine with that outcome, addressing the dip in followers on Instagram.

“Seeing all these people unfollow me makes me feel like I’ve defeated a large beast that’s been holding me down for so long,” she wrote, “And it feels like I can reconnect with the people who really matter and love me for who I am and not for who I was. I feel free.”

Doja, who has transformed many times over the course of her career, certainly seems fed up with at least some of the trappings of pop stardom — namely, being put on a pedestal by overly enthusiastic fans who feel entitled to her attention. She has said that her new album, which she recently confirmed is called Scarlet, will be different from the “palatable, marketable” releases of her past — which also, presumably, suits her just fine.

Doja also recently announced The Scarlet Tour with another iconoclastic rabblerouser in Doechii, so it wouldn’t shock me to find that more artists start moving in the same direction — a cultural shift, if you will.

Doja Cat Said Her Upcoming Album, Which Finally Has A Confirmed Title, Will Have ‘Stories And Bops’

Doja Cat‘s upcoming fourth studio album may be one of the most mysterious projects of the year. When teasing the album, she’s gone back-and-forth when describing its sound, and has changed its name multiple times. She also has caught flack for decrying her fans, though she was later seen meeting with fans, and saying she loves them.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the album was confirmed to be called Scarlet (for now, at least), and Doja described its comprehensive sound.

“This new album is more introspective, but I’m not leaning so hard into that to where it becomes boring,” said Doja. “So I want to give stories and bops. It’s a nice mixture of both. I think this project is a really fun canvas for me to play with my rap skills and talk about what’s going on in my life. But I’m not abandoning who I was and what I know about pop and singing and that aspect of music.”

Ahead of the album, Doja has dropped the singles, “Attention” and “Paint The Town Red,” both of which feature her honing in on her rap stylings.

Though Doja has not yet revealed a release date for Scarlet, she is currently gearing up for The Scarlet Tour, during which, she will be joined by Ice Spice and Doechii.

When Is Doja Cat’s Victoria’s Secret Show Performance?

Doja Cat is in the midst of promoting her highly anticipated forthcoming album. So far, she’s shared the singles “Attention” and “Paint The Town Red.” More teasers are on the way.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she revealed that she’ll be debuting new music during The Victoria’s Secret World Tour, which is part fashion show and part documentary. It will premiere on Prime Video on September 26.

“I don’t want to spoil too much, but like past projects, there’s lots of different energy to songs, plus new sounds that I’ve never explored before. So that is exciting to me, and I can’t wait to put it out,” she said in the interview.

She continued, “Victoria’s Secret has always been such a fun, go-to brand for me since early on, and I love that I can still say that today. Being a part of a global phenomenon like the Tour has been an incredible experience. My idea of what makes me beautiful, sexy, and confident has evolved so much over the years, but I’ve always known that what matters most is how I feel about myself. To me, sexy is being comfortable in my own skin and celebrating myself for who I am. Being a part of the Tour really helped connect me with that.”

‘I’m Better Than You’ Is Just One Of The Things Doja Cat Told Her Haters In A Fiery New Post

Doja Cat has a message for the social media followers who leave nasty comments on her posts. Doja, who has seemingly been on a mission to alienate all but her most loyal fans lately (which, honestly, might not be such a bad strategy), followed up a series of bizarre grid photos with the post on her Instagram, deriding the users leaving “mean comments” and noting, “You still follow me.”

“To all the people in my comments section who are leaving mean comments: I checked your page and you still follow me,” she wrote. “I have a setting on that only allows followers to comment. Also, I’m better than you and you’re so jealous that I’m fly and hot and pretty and you’re nothing like that, you’re nothing of the sort.”

Doja Cat has long been known for trolling her fans and haters alike, starting with her breakout song, “Mooo!” and continuing right up to last month, when she told users with stan accounts to “get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house.” She allegedly lost a quarter of a million followers after that, but her actions certainly track with her statement that she’s no longer doing “palatable, marketable, and sellable” stuff anymore.

Clearly, that includes dropping pop star kayfabe — y’know, the syrupy “I love my fans” act most of them commit to in order to feed the parasocial dynamic that often leads to stalkers showing up at their homes and fans pelting things at them at concerts. More power to her, I say, especially if it means that the music will be stuff that she wants to make instead of just what some label bean counter thinks will sell. Of course, it could all be an inside joke from a known trickster, but either way, thank you, Doja, for making music weird again.

Doja Cat Confirms Illuminati Membership While Flexing Her Graphic Design Skills On IG

The harder one attempts to decipher Doja Cat’s Instagram account, the less sense it makes, which is why you’re better off assuming the “Say So” singer is nearly always trolling. For several months now, she’s been faced with accusations of selling her soul to join the Illuminati, especially now that her music has taken a devilish turn in nature. Doja does seem to have become annoyed by the discourse on more than one occasion, but in her usual fashion, she’s been playing the latest gossip about her off like a pro.

On Saturday (August 12), the Grammy Award winner showed off her budding graphic design skills by putting together a unique collage. The mostly pink image shows a distorted Doja sitting on the side of a bed, her arms thrown up in the air. Beside her sits a pink sparkly Care Bare, a stream of falling money, and a shooting star. “ILLUMINATITS,” “I think my cat is Illuminati,” and “I joined the Illuminati” all flash across the screen in obnoxious fonts as well.

“It’s true 💅🏽,” the embattled entertainer further noted in her caption, sarcastically confirming the IlluminaTEA. The response to that post has been varied, but Doja doesn’t seem too bothered by what others have to say. Instead, she’s been busy photoshopping images of her booty cheeks over cheese poptarts.

“I j be talkin my shi 🤪,” she captioned that post. It was followed shortly after by some interesting bikini snaps, laid out on a Hello Kitty background in the same way as the others. “Hating me won’t make you pretty,” is one of the messages the multi-talent chose to share along with her thirst traps.
