Sukihana Reacts To OJ Da Juiceman Arrest After Their Collaboration

Authorities recently arrested OJ Da Juiceman for drug and gun possession charges, and many in the rap world chimed in. Whether it’s calls for freedom, reflections on his music’s subject matter, or remarks on how good it was, this opened up some discussion around the Atlanta MC. Moreover, authorities pulled him over after speeding and allegedly discovered a gun and drugs in his car despite a felony history. However, they also hit OJ with evidence tampering charges, and this was all reportedly on March 4 according to an initial TMZ report. As such, at press time, it’s unclear what the case’s status is, but Sukihana is nonetheless heartbroken.

Furthermore, Sukihana had just released a collaborative track with OJ Da Juiceman, “Selling Coochie,” on March 6. “Me and OJ is #3 on iTunes Hip-Hop and [they] just locked [him] up,” the Baddies star painfully shared on Twitter Wednesday night (March 13). “This so hurtful. We supposed to be celebrating this moment. I know he would be happy. I was bringing him on stage for Rolling Loud, I literally want to cry but God got us. He coming home soon.”

Hopefully this all resolves soon and Suki can reunite with OJ one day, although she’s got some more contentious issues to deal with as of late. For example, fans expressed shock when she got into a fight with Karlissa Saffold, Blueface’s mother, when Saffold felt she had to stand up for her daughter while filming the TV show Bad Vs. Wild. Some, like fellow collaborator Sexyy Red, defended Sukihana on social media, whereas Blue’s mother said that she doesn’t condone violence and was simply defending her daughter. You be the judge, but these are all personalities that will stand on business and aren’t afraid to get rowdy.

Meanwhile, as for OJ Da Juiceman, this is the first time he popped up in the headlines in a long time. The last big story around him concerned his beef with Waka Flocka Flame and his manager (and Waka’s mother) Deb Antney. We’ll see if anything else comes of this recent arrest. Yesterday, the 24-year-old took to social media to surprise-announce her new album. Fine Ho, Stay is scheduled to arrive tomorrow (March 15). The project will follow her 2020 debut, Ho, Why Is You Here?, as well as 2022’s You Still Here, Ho?

Of course, fans can’t wait to hear what Flo Milli has in store for them next. Fortunately, she hopped on Twitter/X today to give them a taste of what’s to come. In a new clip, she sings along with the dreamy track when none other than Cardi B enters the shot. “POP UP GUESS WHO B✰TCH,” she captioned the post, also adding a kissing emoji. “NEVER LOSE ME REMIX FT @sza & @iamcardib TONIGHT.”

Fine Ho, Stay Arrives March 15

For obvious reasons, fans are thrilled, and looking forward to hearing some of the other high-profile features Flo has secured. Aside from Cardi B and SZA, she’s also tapped Gunna for a feature on Fine Ho, Stay. Monaleo and Anycia also make appearances.

Luckily for listeners, they’ll also have an opportunity to catch the femcee live later this year. She’s scheduled to join Gunna on his Bittersweet tour in May, kicking things off with a performance in Columbus, OH. Gunna Hypes Up Potential Offset Collaboration, Fans React

Gunna is an artist who many had written off last year. After being released from jail, no one wanted to go near him. Overall, this was because people thought he had snitched on Young Thug. However, once he dropped a gift & a curse, the narrative around the artist changed. Now, people see him as a superstar and other artists are beginning to warm up to him. He has been teasing some new music as of late, and there is a real sense that he will have some collaborators this time around.

Well, thanks to his latest Instagram post, it seems like we know who Gunna might work with next. As you can see down below, Gunna posed for some blurry photos where he continued to showcase his love of fashion. However, if you continue to scroll, you will notice that Offset makes a few appearances. Offset is fresh off of the release of Set It Off and he is certainly the perfect person to collaborate with. While Gunna didn’t make anything official, the connection is a pretty easy one to make.

In the comments section of the post, fans were very clearly excited about the potential collaboration. However, some fans are antsy for Gunna to come out with some new tunes. “Wunna? Offset??? Former Brockhampton member Matt Champion kicked off 2024 with a bang, unveiling his song “Aphid” in February. Later that month, he dropped a danceable track called “Slug,” paving the way for even more to come. Now, the Texas-born performer has come through with yet another dreamy single, this time teaming up with K-pop icon Jennie.

The Blackpink superstar lends her hypnotic vocals to the otherwise electronic track. Lyrics center around wishing time would stand still, allowing moments with a loved one to last a lifetime. The track was produced by Matt Champion, Henry Kwapis, Dijon, and other “close collaborators,” according to a press release.

Mika’s Laundry Arrives March 22

The melancholy song certainly delivers the bright, fresh atmosphere one would hope for on a pre-spring release, and has managed to leave fans hoping for more. Fortunately, it won’t be too much longer before fans hear another release from Matt Champion, as the hitmaker has also recently announced a new full-length project. His debut solo album, dubbed Mika’s Laundry, is slated for release on March 22.

“Slow Motion” additionally arrives alongside an accompanying music video. In the simple, trippy visual, viewers watch a close-up shot of an eyeball reacting to flashing lights. The video was directed by Anna Pollack, who also directed Matt Champion’s “Aphid” and “Slug” music videos, which he unveiled in February. Drake’s OVO Brand Hit With Backlash Following NEEDLES Collaboration

While Drake is certainly a business unto himself, his OVO brand is also a major reason for his never-ending success. The record label/clothing company has had a huge impact on pop culture for quite some time. It has become one of the most recognizable logos in the space with its iconic gold and black scheme, and of course, the owl. In terms of apparel, we have seen a lot of amazing work over the years with the Toronto Raptors jerseys, as well as the rare and expensive Jordans. However, not everything is going to be a smash hit. Drake’s latest collaboration with NEEDLES is not getting the same love, to say the least.

NEEDLES is a Japanese luxury clothing brand that has been around since 1995. According to HipHopDX, them and OVO decided to work together to bring a small capsule to show off the two brands creative flare. Hype Beast initially shared more of the details about the drop at the beginning of the month. With two powerhouse names like NEEDLES and Drake’s OVO, you would think this would be a success without a doubt.

Unfortunately, the opposite is true here. Above is just one of the items included in the lineup. It is a black and gold tracksuit that features the latter color stripes on the sleeves, as well as the owl and NEEDLES butterfly logo. Fans are ripping their efforts to shreds saying, “Overpriced crap $ now you collab with them.” Another goes, “This is easily the worst & corniest collab in the brands history. Gonna lose as many customers as you’re gonna gain.” The capsule also includes a mohair cardigan, various t-shirts with the OVO lettering and butterfly combined, and a plaid shirt.

Now, the performer is back with yet another pop anthem, this time in collaboration with hip-hop and R&B mainstay Pharrell Williams. The duo dropped off their new single “Doctor (Work It Out)” late last week, and it’s already received a tremendous amount of praise from fans.

Miley Cyrus & Pharrell Revive Bangerz Era Track

At the time of writing, the song is in the top 10 of the U.S. iTunes chart. It’s also trending on YouTube, Spotify and more. It features powerful vocals and fun adlibs from Miley, and groovy, upbeat production from Pharrell. While Pharrell doesn’t contribute to the track vocally, fans can agree that his touch is woven throughout, and embodies his signature sound. The release is also accompanied by a playful accompanying music video, which sees Miley channel her inner Tina Turner, dancing along to the catchy single.

Fans first got a glimpse at the unedited version of “Doctor (Work It Out)” back in 2017. It was originally written amid Miley’s Bangerz era, and though various other Pharrell-produced tracks made the cut, got set aside. ScHoolboy Q & Ab-Soul Have A Fan-Favorite With “Foux”

ScHoolboy Q has finally given us BLUE LIPS and we are very pleased to say that it has delivered and then some. The California rapper almost always seems to be at his peak when he experiments with instrumentals, cadences, lyrics, and flows. Q does that throughout the duration of the LP and you can definitely tell five years were needed to craft this body of work. While it may not be for everyone, there is no doubt that this project was worth the wait. One highlight we had to cover is ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul’s “Foux.”

This one of the more introspective cuts here, as it sees each TDE talent dealing with internal struggles. Q’s hook is infectious but also quite gloomy. He quickly raps over the scattering drum patterns, howling background vocals, and somber piano keys. Incredibly, outside of some Black Hippy cuts, this the first time we have heard Q and Ab-Soul on a song together since 2012 with “Druggys Wit H**s Again.”

DaeMoney Nabs LUCKI & Veeze For Dreamy “JAPANESE DENIM”

Veeze and LUCKI have been tearing things up lately in the rap game. Their idiosyncratic and mumbly styles have captivated fans as their legends continue to grow. However, there is another kid on the block that is starting to earn his stripes similar to these two. That artist goes by DaeMoney and like Veeze, he also hails from the blue-collar city of Detroit. Today, he makes his debut on the site and what better way than to do it by collaborating with the aforementioned stars. Additionally, DaeMoney’s “JAPANESE DENIM” lands on his new album.

This is not the first time that Dae and Veeze have worked together. You can also check out tracks such as “Gta,” which also has LUCKI, “Who Is That?” and “Fingers Crossed.” DaeMoney’s “JAPANESE DENIM” is a whimsical and hazy cut that sees each rapper flexing. Teezo Touchdown Cover Talking Heads’ “Making Flippy Floppy” For A24

Teezo Touchdown has quickly become one of the most sought after multi-hyphenates in the music industry. We primarly cover him when it pertains to hip-hop crossovers. However, this instance is for something totally different. After nabbing a big time placement on Lyrical Lemonade and Cole Bennett’s debut tape All is Yellow, the Texan is now assisting an indie film company with a soundtrack. That brand is A24, who in the latter half of last year got the chance to re-release the Talking Heads’ independent 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense. Teezo Touchdown is one of the artists that is going to be featured on the soundtrack as he covers Talking Heads’ “Making Flippy Floppy.”

According to Uproxx, alt rock band Paramore were the first to cover a track from the 1983 record Speaking In Tongues. They remade “Burning Down the House,” and now Teezo is the second artist to make the cut. The 40th anniversary remaster of the film hit theaters on September 22. However, the accompanying project of covers is still awaiting a release date.
