Bow Wow had hits in the 2000s. The rapper made the leap from teen star to grown man with hits like “Shortie Like Mine” and “Like You.” The thing is, he stepped away from the music scene in 2009. His last studio album was New Jack City II, and since then, he’s focused on reality TV and hosting gigs. It’s been a successful avenue for him, but it looks like he might be working on some new music. The rapper got on X (formerly Twitter) on May 29 to tease something major with Chris Brown…
We’re not going to beat around the bush since Bow Wow didn’t. He didn’t bother with any subtle hints or photos, he just tweeted: “Bow Wow x Chris Brown… June 2024.” There’s always a chance that the collab could be non-musical, but given what these two artists have gotten up to in the past, a song seems like the most obvious outcome. Bow Wow and Breezy worked together on the aforementioned “Shortie Like Mine” in 2006. The song, which also featured Johntá Austin, peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the US Hot Rap Songs chart. It was certified Platinum in the United States, and remains one of Bow Wow’s signature hits.
Bow Wow Has Been Teasing His Final Album Since 2021
Bow Wow and Chris Brown have two other songs together. “Outta My System” also dropped in 2006, while “Ain’t Thinkin’ Bout You” was released three years later. Their upcoming collaboration will likely be for Bow Wow’s album Before 30, which was first announced in 2021. The rapper told Hot 97 that he will drop one more body of work before calling it a day on music. “I’ma do one more album,” he told the host. “It’s gonna be the last one and it’s gonna be called Before 30. I’ma have Snoop [Dogg] narrate the whole thing. So it’s gonna be kind of a different project, 10 songs.”
Bow Wow gave fans an update on the album in 2022. He confirmed Before 30 was coming, and claimed that it would be released through Death Row Records, which is now owned by Snoop. “Spoke to Snoop last week,” he tweeted. “Very soon. My plan is to put my final album on Death Row and close my music career out where it began. I’m tryna do the D Wade and come home and close it out.” Things went quiet once again in 2023, but this latest teaser suggests that the rapper is finally ready to begin the Before 30 rollout. Let’s see what Breezy and him have in store.
The 2024 BET Awards are underway, and the coveted Album of the Year Award is once again up for grabs. The nominees have been announced, and it’s a pretty star-studded affair. Therefore, it’s absolutely anybody’s guess who will take home the award. Eight impressive albums aim for the top, but judging from last year, more than one project could take home the prize.
At the 2023 BET Awards last year, Beyoncé and SZA jointly won the Album of the Year award. Evidently, both Renaissance and SOS were major releases and took the world by storm. Interestingly, this year, Victoria Monét, although a veteran in the game, is the only artist nominated for a debut album. The remaining seven nominees have released several studio albums in the past. Here are all the AOTY nods at the upcoming 2024 BET Awards.
11:11 – Chris Brown
Eleven studio albums into his career, and Chris Brown is not interested in slowing down. His album 11:11 was released on November 10, 2023, and showed Breezy at his most refined in recent years. With a flurry of glitzy R&B songs, Chris Brown also continued to dip his toe into Afrobeats and dancehall waters. With the dreamy singles “Summer Too Hot,” “Sensational,” and “Nightmares,” the veteran crooner definitely deserves the AOTY nod at the 2024 BET Awards. He is also looking to extend his record as the male artist with the most wins. Altogether, it’s safe to refer to Chris Brown as the King of the BET Awards.
The past two years have been quite turbulent for Gunna. The rapper has been trying to adjust to the public eye, especially after being released from prison. However, the music has yet to suffer, and Gunna has consistently delivered. His fourth album, a Gift & a Curse, was given the surprise treatment, dropping unannounced on June 16, 2023. Notably, the artist did not feature any acts, which could be interpreted as him proving his worth amidst his return. The album also made a splash, particularly thanks to the trap banger, “FukUMean.”
American Dream – 21 Savage
The third solo album by 21 Savage is a stellar one. While it’s loaded with A-list features, 21 never loses his momentum. If anything, the features help to amplify his sound. American Dream was released on January 12, 2024, just in time to garner an Album of the Year nod at the BET Awards. With many standout tracks, including the Travis Scott-assisted “Née-Nah,” 21 Savage definitely earned the recognition.
It’s an established fact that 2023 belonged to Usher. Between his acclaimed Super Bowl halftime show and his marriage to his longtime girlfriend, Usher also released his ninth studio album, Coming Home. The album is R&B at its finest and is his best body of work in years. Although there’s a more evolved sound, Usher still kept things dynamic with Afrobeats and K-pop affiliations. With four nods at the 2024 BET Awards, he’s the fourth most nominated act of the night.
For All The DogsScary Hours Edition – Drake
Drake’s eighth album might have been seen as overkill by many, but it was still a commercial triumph. For All the Dogs featured a wide variety of Hip Hop acts. These include J. Cole, 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, and more. While it’s hardly anyone’s favorite Drake album, it did provide a few hits. The controversial “Slime You Out” debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100. Additionally, “Rich Baby Daddy” is still enjoying major radio play almost a year later.
Jaguar II – Victoria Monét
With five nominations at the 2024 BET Awards, Victoria Monét is the third most-nominated artist. After moderate success in her career, she broke through last year with Jaguar II. As a result, Monét earned her rightful acclaim, even snagging multiple Grammys. As the only debut album in this year’s AOTY category, all eyes are on Jaguar II. The shimmery debut studio album is sure to sit comfortably as one of the best R&B albums this decade.
Pink Friday 2 – Nicki Minaj
After years of anticipation, Nicki Minaj dropped Pink Friday 2, effectively stopping the world. The album debuted atop the Billboard 200 and set multiple records. Nicki’s inclination for pop rap was on display, but she also loaded the big guns, as well. Altogether, Pink Friday 2 was a great successor to 2010’s Pink Friday, and Minaj at her most free.
MICHAEL – Killer Mike
Few rap albums earned as much acclaim as Killer Mike’s sixth, MICHAEL. The Southern Hip Hop legend returned with his first solo studio album in 11 years. MICHAEL boasts a star-studded lineup of featured artists, including CeeLo Green, Jagged Edge, Dave Chappelle, and more. However, where the album truly excels is in its lyricism. Overall, Killer Mike proves he’s one of one with this project.
Soulja Boy is known for being combative, so it’s no surprise he has been involved in several beefs with other rappers. Recently, Soulja Boy was in the news again over a beef. This time, the “Crank That” crooner sparred with Metro Boomin and 21 Savage. The feud was entirely avoidable and was triggered by a 12-year-old tweet from Metro. In the tweet, a teenage Metro wrote, “My phone rings to come to the studio with Jeezy. Yours rings to send Soulja Boy a pack of beats. Sit down.” Soulja Boy found out about the tweet and asked Metro to delete it. However, 21 Savage got involved and asked what would happen if Metro failed to delete the tweet.
21 Savage’s response infuriated Soulja Boy, who challenged the rapper and Metro to a boxing fight. Soulja Boy also dissed Metro Boomin’s late mom several times, sparking criticism from fans. Following the criticisms, Soulja surprisingly apologized to Metro Boomin via a tweet. He wrote, “I apologize to @MetroBoomin for over reacting over an old tweet. Condolences to his mom. I’m going to seek therapy and anger management. I’m done responding to hate, new or old. .” With Soulja Boy’s latest move and vow to seek therapy and not respond to hate anymore, one cannot but look at his past feuds. Soulja Boy has a long list of beefs to his name but here are seven of the biggest he’s been involved in.
Soulja Boy and Chris Brown’s beef began in January 2017 after the former liked a post from Karrueche Tran, Chris’s ex-girlfriend. Chris reportedly threatened Soulja Boy over the post, causing the latter to launch a verbal attack on him. In a tweet, Soulja Boy cited Chris’s 2009 assault against his then-girlfriend, Rihanna. However, Soulja Boy and Chris Brown’s spat progressed from online slingshots to a boxing fight. Former heavyweight boxing champion Floyd Mayweather organized a pay-per-view boxing match between the feuding musicians. Chris and Soulja Boy continued their war of words and didn’t hold back from hurling expletives at each other.
Later, Soulja Boy challenged Chris to a street fight in Compton. True to his words, he arrived there for the fight and went live on Instagram with a group of guys surrounding him. However, things turned sour when some of the group members attacked and reportedly robbed Soulja. With the situation escalating further, Soulja called on Floyd Mayweather to train him for his boxing fight with Chris, who was also hyped up about the matchup. However, the fight never happened with Soulja later revealing that he and Chris resolved their issues after speaking about it.
6. Soulja Boy Beefs With 50 Cent
Besides being one of the greatest rappers alive, 50 Cent is famous for his hilarious memes. The G-Unit boss loves having fun with whoever he chooses and got in on Soulja Boy and Chris Brown’s beef, urging them to hit the ring and fight each other. When Soulja Boy looked as though he was quitting his beef with Chris Brown, 50 Cent didn’t want that to happen. Then, Soulja Boy shared a video where he apologized for his erratic behavior and revealed his mom was hospitalized. However, 50 Cent didn’t like the apology and shared several memes urging Soulja Boy to go ahead with the fight. 50 also revealed his plans to make money off the boxing fight, writing, “They’re talking about this s**t, right?” “Get Soulja Boy on the phone! Tell that n***a I said stop apologizing, get the draco out! We got to keep this s**t going!”
After Soulja reportedly got robbed at Compton, 50 Cent went ahead to troll him again. This time, he said, “Soulja Boy just got Robbed in LA, don’t worry ya big homie Floyd can buy you another chain. But you bet not call POLICE little man. #thefightstillon LMAO.” In another post, 50 Cent also said Soulja Boy shouldn’t cancel the fight as he had no choice but to go ahead with it. Soulja Boy responded to 50 Cent via a now-deleted IG post he captioned, “Rob who take what somebody tell Curtis Jackson shut the f**k up.” He also released the diss track “Hit Em With The Draco,” in which he hurled shots at 50 and Chris Brown. Eventually, Soulja Boy and 50 Cent’s spat never got too serious and died down after his fight with Chris failed to materialize.
Lil Yachty and Soulja Boy’s beef started over a girl. It began on Oct. 28, 2016, after Soulja Boy posted screenshots of text exchange between himself and Yachty. In the chat, Yachty asked Soulja to remove a picture of himself and model India Love from social media. However, rather than take down the photo, Soulja went on a social media rampage, threatening Yachty. Also, he posted more pictures of himself and India and text messages from her in which she claimed to have never met Yachty.
Yachty responded by tweeting, “Im not for beefing over no female…all Ima say is…f***in wit da boat you gone sink. Period.” Yachty continued his offensive during his performance at Mala Luna Festival in San Antonio. He wore a shirt with the inscription, “Pray 4 Soulja Boy R.I.P. 2007–2016.” He also rapped, “F**k Soulja Boy, you a bitch ass n***a / Lil Boat came in with a hundred n****s / F***in’ on your bitch / I know that you mad.“
Later, Soulja Boy claimed Yachty cried over the phone to him pleading for their beef to come to an end. However, Yachty quashed those claims and leaked a phone call between himself and Soulja in which the latter was apologizing to him. Incredibly, Soulja shared a video not too long after showing him calling off the beef with Yachty. Also, Soulja claimed the whole beef began because he ran out of weed. He said, “Lil Yachty, man, you know I love you, bruh. You know how Big Soulja start tweakin’ when he ain’t got no weed.” During an interview with Shay Diddy on 106.1 KMEL, Yachty insinuated that Soulja Boy used the beef for clout as it shouldn’t have blown up the way it did.
4. Soulja Boy Beef With Ice-T
The beef between Soulja Boy and Ice-T began after Ice-T’s Black Urban Legends mixtape was released in 2008. The mixtape’s intro contained an attack on Soulja from Ice-T. Ice-T said, “Fuck Soulja Boy, eat a d**k. Soulja Boy, I know you are young enough to be my kid but you single-handedly killed hip-hop, man. That shit is such garbage. We came all the way from Rakim, we came all the way from Das EFX, we came all the way from motherfuckers flowing like Big Daddy Kane and Ice Cube, and you come with that Superman shit?” Ice-T’s infamous diatribes soon found its way to the internet and reached Soulja Boy. Unsurprisingly, the then-17-year-old Soulja Boy responded in kind via a video where he trashed Ice-T’s legacy. He called Ice-T an old man and the “forefather of my nuts,” among many other labels while his friends laughed in the background.
The Ice-T and Soulja Boy beef is one of the former’s regrets. During an interview with Ebro in 2022, the Law & Order: SVU actor revealed how the beef originated. Ice-T shared that the associates he was making the Black Urban Legends mixtape for got him agitated by telling him people would rather listen to Soulja Boy and Hurricane Chris than listen to him. This caused Ice-T to get angry and say what he said. However, he never knew the associates would put his rant as the mixtape’s intro, starting the beef. The beef has since cooled and Soulja Boy reflected on it during a 2022 interview with HotNewHipHop. The “Kiss Me Thru The Phone” rapper said Ice-T was confused at the time and “didn’t know he was looking at the future in his eyes.” Soulja also said the beef thought him to always stay in tune with youth culture.
Kanye West and Soulja Boy went back and forth with each other on social media in February 2022. Their spat began after Soulja complained about Ye removing his verse on the song, “Remote Control,” from his Donda album. Soulja shared images of text messages between him and Ye. The text messages showed that Ye approved Soulja’s verse and agreed it would be on the song. However, that didn’t happen eventually, infuriating Soulja, who tweeted, “Idk how to feel, Kanye sent me that song ‘remote control’ and I don’t hear my verse on it. Hmm f**k that n***a.” He also wrote, “This n***a Kanye smh. Tell homie don’t hit my phone anymore.”
Afterward, Soulja posted a video on Instagram depicting Kanye losing his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, to comedian Pete Davidson. Soulja said, “Kanye, wake up. Skete got yo b***h n***a, whatchu gon do? Is you gon keep posting memes of Marvel vs. Capcom or you gon lay smackdown?” He added, “That’s what the f**k you get n***a! N***a tried to play me. N***a, you know who the f**k I am? I’m Big Draco and now you running around Hollywood crying like a b***h.”
Eventually, Kanye and Soulja Boy settled their beef. Soulja shared a screenshot of a text Kanye sent to him warning him not to talk about him or his wife again. Kanye’s text read, “This Ye. Don’t bring up me or my no more.” Afterward, Soulja revealed he and Kanye had settled their rift. Kanye also shared a screenshot of a message he sent to Soulja Boy. In the text, Kanye apologized for removing Soulja’s verse from the song, to which the latter replied, “Love you too bro. That’s all I wanted.”
2. Soulja Boy & Drake Beef
Drake and Soulja Boy’s beef is probably the funniest among all Draco’s beefs due to the unforgettable meme that emerged from it. It all began in January 2019 when Soulja appeared on The Breakfast Club for an interview with hosts DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, and Angela Yee. During the interview, Soulja asked why Meek Mill had a bigger comeback than he did. Charlamagne Tha God responded by suggesting that Meek Mill’s success could be due to his beef with Drake. Soulja Boy was then told that Drake was the biggest rapper in the world, which caused him to get up from his chair to vent his annoyance. He then went into a full-blown rant that quickly became a meme.
Soulja screamed, “Draaaaaaake? Draaaaaaaaake? The n***a that got bodied by Pusha T? The n***a that hiding his kid from the world, but his world want to hide from the kid? Aubrey Graham in a wheelchair? Draaaaaake? Y’all n***as better stop playing with me man. Y’all talking about the lightskin ni**a from Degrassi?” Afterward, Soulja claimed he taught Drake everything he knew. He said, “”Stop playing with me. Stop playing me like I ain’t teach Drake everything he know. Y’all ain’t hear Drake on his first song?”
Soulja proceeded to sing a line from Drake’s 2010 song, “Miss Me,” from his debut album, Thank Me Later. He claimed Drake stole the song’s first bars from his 2007 song, “What’s Hannenin.” He claimed, “”That’s Soulja! That’s my bar. He copied my whole f**king flow. He copied my whole f**king flow. Word for word. Bar for bar. Don’t act like I didn’t make Drake, ni**a.” During an interview with XXL, Soulja also questioned why Drake never invited him on tour to perform their 2013 collaboration, “We Made It.” He also wondered why Drake never shot a video for the song.
Drake and Soulja eventually settled their beef. The 6 God got tagged to a video of Soulja Boy shopping from his OVO store in Los Angeles in February 2019. He then sent messages to Soulja, which the latter posted on X, formerly Twitter. In the message, Drake wrote, “You know it’s always been love all jokes aside. I dunno if you was serious about the video thing but I never knew you wanted to do a video for we made it you know I would have done that shit…” Drake then acknowledged Soulja’s hilarious meme from his interview on The Breakfast Club, writing, “but on some real shit…Draaaaaaaaaaaaake?!?! kill that show.”
1. Soulja Boy Vs. Bow Wow Beef
Soulja Boy and Bow Wow are now friends, but they have endured some low points in their friendship. The duo has toured together, collaborated on several songs, and also has a joint mixtape. However, at their worst, the pair engaged in heated exchanges online. The sour point in their friendship came after Soulja Boy dissed Nas in an eight-minute video in December 2008, declaring that the iconic rapper killed hip-hop due to his 2006 single, “Hip-Hop Is Dead.” However, Bow Wow, who idolizes Nas, released a freestyle over Jay-Z’s “Friend or Foe.” In the track, he responded to Soulja’s Nas diss, saying, “I’d never disrespect Nas, I’m not Soulja Boy.”
Bow Wow’s line fueled a back-and-forth with Soulja, who responded by uploading a video of himself in a new white Lamborghini. He then challenged Bow Wow to a race in their Lamborghinis. He vowed, “If I lose to you, I’ll give my pink slip to you. You can have that motherfucker.” Bow Wow responded two days later with a video of him driving his orange Lamborghini through a garage. He trolled Soulja Boy for driving a poor man’s Lamborghini and using plastic rims, among other shades. Days later, Soulja released a video claiming Bow Wow rented the Lamborghini he was driving. He also released a diss track titled “F**k Bow Wow,” in which he called the latter several derogatory names.
Bow Wow responded to Soulja’s diss track with a video in which he dissed his career, saying, “The only reason you’re in the game is because of me.” He followed that up with a diss track titled “What I Think About You” in which he rapped that Soulja’s career was dead. The pair kept going at each other in 2009 but things quietened afterward. Much wasn’t heard about the pair’s beef for many years until September 2016, when Soulja Boy appeared in an interview on Say Cheese! During the interview, he revealed that he and Bow Wow were no longer feuding but were now friends. He said their beef was due to them being young and in different mind spaces.
Soulja Boy added, “We straight now. That Shit crazy. That’s like one of my best home boys. I was just in his crib like two days ago. I’m telling you, once years go by, you get some experience in this industry. You get you some real money, you get off of that shit.” Soulja and Bow Wow proved they were truly reconciled with the release of their joint tape Ignorant Shit. After Soulja called out Drake for not crediting his influence, Bow Wow appeared in an interview with Hollywood Unlocked: Uncensored and credited Soulja for being among the top artists who changed hip-hop. Bow Wow added that Soulja Boy was the “first big digital internet sensation that we saw.”
Bow Wow and Soulja Boy seemed to be feuding again in May 2021 after rumors of them facing off in a Verzuz battle emerged. However, Soulja clarified that it was all love between them. It was eventually confirmed that the rappers would face off in the rap battle, and they hyped up the event on social media and engaged in playful jabs with each other. The Verzuz battle was held on June 26, 2021, in Los Angeles. It was a memorable event, with both rappers engaging in friendly competition and eventually shutting the place down.
Saweetie has had a tough few years. The rapper was dragged for selling a startling low number of her debut EP, The Single Life, in 2022. Then she was pulled into the Chris Brown and Quavo feud when the former implied that she cheated on the Migos rapper with him. It’s all been very messy, and focused on the personal rather than the professional. Saweetie needed a song to redirect the focus of the public to her music. Her new single, “NANi,” should do the trick.
Saweetie previewed the song on March 30. She posted a video of her dancing by a swimming pool, and fans flooded the comment section claiming that she needed to drop it before the summer. She obliged, and it’s very likely that “NANi” will be getting lots of spin over the next few months. The instrumental is incredibly catchy, with a bouncy drum pattern made for club settings. It feels like a bit of a throwback to the DJ Mustard-type beats that were dominating the charts in the early 2010s.
It would feel right at home next to “Show Me” by Kid Ink and say, “Loyal” by Chris Brown (DJ Mustard produced the former). Given that the producer just scored a number one single with Kendrick Lamar, it’s not a bad sound to emulate. The lyrics aren’t anything special, but the chorus has an earworm quality to it. “Ooh, got that nani, nani, nani,” Saweetie raps. “How she walk through, swingin’ that body, Yellin’, Who gon’ stop me? You ain’t got the time to clock me.” The song is fun, and it gets the job done.
What are your thoughts on this new song, “NANi” by Saweetie? Is it her best single yet? Is it going to get play this summer? Are you excited for her new album? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Saweetie. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.
Quotable Lyrics
Plane, sprinter, glam to the club Backdoor sections, shots, another club Two shows, one night, what’s that? A hundred plus? Whole room full of bad b*tches, it’s a lot of us
Saweetie occasionally has to remind fans just how good of a rapper she really is. She’s often making waves for her photo dumps and the drama surrounding her relationships. Most recently she’s been in the thick of the beef between Quavo and Chris Brown. Both artists brought her up early in the beef and she’s been dragged along for the ride as the two take shots at each other. Her involvement in that beef popped up during a recent freestyle she shared to Instagram.
In the clip, Saweetie is chilling in her car but she certainly isn’t delivering relaxed bars. For an instrumental she’s using Sexyy Red’s hit song “Skee Yee” from last year. But rather than the raunchy demeanor of the original the “Tap In” rapper used it to flex her money, skill, and stunning looks. During the freestyle she also makes reference to Chris Brown and the beef she’s been caught up in. At the end of her performance she even adapts the hook of the song to reminds fans what she’s coming to their city to do. Check out her entire lengthy freestyle below.
A few weeks ago Saweetie was mistaken for Ice Spice on Twitter, which has led many fans to compare the two. In the comments of her freestyle Spice comes up repeatedly. “She’s better than ice spice and that’s a fendi fact” one of the top comments on the post reads. “If y’all can listen to Ice Spice yall can listen to Saweetie!” another commentor agrees. Spice recently released the second single from her upcoming debut album “Gimmie A Light.” The song was met with mixed reactions from many fans in the days following its release.
What do you think of Saweetie’s hard-hitting new freestyle over the beat from Sexyy Red’s “Skee Yee?” Do you think she’s a better rapper than Ice Spice like many fans in her comments are claiming? Let us know in the comment section below.
Within the pantheon of unexpected musical crossovers, former Migos rapper Quavo and pop star Lana Del Rey would have been a hard one to predict. Lana has crossed over with rappers occasionally in the past. Both A$AP Rocky and Playboi Carti feature on her 2017 album Lust For Life. Quavo has also appeared on some songs with a poppier slant, perhaps most notable Calvin Harris’ “Slide.” Despite their seemingly different musical worlds, the two apparently have new music together coming soon.
Earlier this week Quavo and Lana Del Rey were spotted out and about together. As you’d expect that led to rumors that the two could be working on some music together. It didn’t take long before those rumors were confirmed to be true. Today, Quavo took to Instagram to share a snippet of something they’ve been working on together. The preview was met with a wide variety of reactions but more so than anything else was the surprise that the two were even working together in the first place. Check out the snippet of new music they shared below.
The biggest story surrounding Quavo recently has been his beef with Chris Brown. It’s something that comes up multiple times in the comment section of the teaser he shared. While some fans tried to make the argument that Brown got the better of him, many are just happy to see him moving on from the conflict. Late last month, the beef elevated from diss tracks to real life swipes. That came when Brown allegedly bought out a ton of tickets to one of Quavo’s shows so he performed for an incredibly small audience. That added an entire new dimension to fans trying to dissect who won the beef.
What do you think of Quavo and Lana Del Rey mixing their styles and working on new music together? Are you looking forward to the collaboration when they eventually drop it? Let us know in the comment section below.
Kanye West is a polarizing figure in the music industry. Some people love him, while others hate him. On the other hand, there are those who would rather avoid Kanye than get into a confrontation with him. Say what you want about Kanye, but he remains one of hip-hop’s greatest influences thanks to his undeniable talent and all that he has brought and continues to bring to the game. Since his emergence in the rap world, Kanye has collaborated with many artists and sat down with multiple celebrities, leaving behind something they might never forget. Thus, it is usual to find many of these celebrities telling stories about Kanye, with many of these being incredibly hilarious.
Recently, Chris Brown appeared on the R&B Money podcast and participated in a segment that required him to tell a story about another artist without mentioning names. In his story, Breezy narrated how he went to the club with an unnamed artist alongside many women to see a performance. The performing artist had a chart-topping song, which they executed on stage to the audience’s excitement. However, the unnamed artist didn’t seem to enjoy the performance or the song and went on stage, where they delivered a 45-minute rant. That action killed Breezy’s vibe and, according to him, turned the club into a “waiting room in hell.” Brown further revealed that the unnamed artist did a clap-back about Amber Rose, including making NSFW comments.
Although Breezy didn’t mention names, many fans believed the unnamed artist was Kanye West, as a video shows some footage of the night Breezy might have been referring to. The clip showed Kanye on stage making comments about Amber Rose, though there is no confirmation that it was the same night Breezy was talking about. Although no one is certain if Breezy referred to Kanye in his story, there are other artists and celebrities who have shared hilarious stories about Mr. West. Let’s get into some of the most hilarious stories ever told about Kanye.
The One Told By Aziz Ansari
Aziz Ansari is a popular comedian and actor famous for appearing on Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Otis” music video. Aziz seemingly has a close relationship with Kanye and has been around him multiple times. Thus, it isn’t surprising that the comedian has many hilarious stories to tell about Kanye. However, one of the most hilarious stories Aziz has told about Kanye was about when he performed standup comedy to 30 people at Kanye’s house. During a standup special, Aziz revealed how he and Kanye spent time hanging out. He revealed that the first time they met was at a club where Jay-Z was also present. Later on, during the performance, Aziz narrated how Kanye invited him to his house. When he got there, he found Kanye listening to his album 808s and Heartbreak.
Aziz found this odd and asked Ye, “Are you listening to your own album in your own house bopping your own head.” Kanye replied, “Yo, these beats are dope.” Later that evening, Kanye asked Aziz to tell some of his jokes to the guests in the living room. After much persuasion from Kanye and a few drinks, Aziz agreed and began telling jokes. He then revealed his favorite part of that evening. He shared, “My favorite part was when every once in a while, somebody would be in the kitchen making a drink and they’d make a little noise, and Kanye would jump up and yell, ‘Yo! Shut the f*ck up! Homie’s over here trying to tell some jokes!’ Which is the best thing anybody has ever yelled at a comedy show.”
The One Told By G-Eazy
G-Eazy crossed paths with Kanye West on his rise to fame. The then-upcoming star met Kanye for the first time during the latter’s Yeezus tour. During an interview on 106.1 KMEL, G-Eazy narrated his first meeting with Kanye. He and Kanye had the same management, and he was brought backstage to meet him. Being a huge fan, G-Eazy was star-struck after his manager, who had also worked Kanye for years, introduced him. After the introduction, Kanye looked up at G-Eazy and said, “What’s up.” However, G-Eazy was almost frozen but managed to respond to Kanye. He replied, “What’s up, bruh,” and extended his hand for a handshake.
G-Eazy remained nervous, but he and Kanye had a little conversation. Kanye moved on to talking to some other people around. Thus, G-Eazy didn’t want to distract them and stood a few meters apart. At the time, his manager had left, so it was just him standing alone with Kanye talking to the rest of the people around. While speaking to the other people, Kanye said, “Really, you know, it’s all about having next year planned out. You can’t just be living in the now, you gotta have next year planned out.” Kanye then turned to G-Eazy and asked him, “What are you doing next year?”
The question came as a surprise to G-Eazy, who started mumbling and talking about the album he was working on. He also mentioned how Kanye was a big inspiration to him. G-Eazy’s response wasn’t exactly what Kanye wanted to hear. However, Kanye was polite and respectful about it and said, “Yeaahh…anyways, soo,” and moved on with his conversation with the other people.
The One Told By Seth Rogen
Canadian-American actor and comedian Seth Rogen has also endured a hilarious moment with Kanye West. During a December 2014 interview with Rolling Stone, Seth recalled his now-famous interaction with Kanye. The comedian revealed that Kanye made him and his wife, Lauren Miller, listen while he rapped the entirety of his Yeezus album to them. Seth and Lauren met Kanye at a hotel lobby in New York, and the rapper asked them, “What are you guys doing? Want to hear my new album?” Afterward, he took them to a limo van and started playing the album. However, he only played the beats and not the lyrics. Seth narrated, “So he raps the whole album, and after each song, he stops it, like, ‘So what do you think?’ We were in the van for two hours!”
Seth further shared, “Now I realize the next person he sees that he knows is getting pulled into that van.” However, despite the awkwardness of the situation, Seth learned a valuable lesson from the Kanye experience, which he applied to his movies. He said, “Kanye is seeking input at all times. Process-wise, it showed an openness and a fearlessness. We started screening our movies more and in rougher versions for our friends because of that.”
The One Told By Dave Chappelle
Legendary comedian Dave Chappelle might have the most hilarious Kanye West story ever told. During an appearance on The Tonight Show, Dave described his first encounter with Kanye. Dave and Ye met for the first time in 2003. Then, Kanye was still an unknown rapper. It was through Dave that Kanye made his first television appearance as a musical guest on The Dave Chappelle Show. Despite being unknown, Kanye made an impression on Dave, who said, “You could tell that he was going to be a star. I didn’t know him until he did the show.”
While making the show, Dave, Common, Talib Kweli, and Jay-Z were listening to Jay-Z’s Black Album, which had just been released. The album’s 12th track, “Lucifer,” had a line in which Jay-Z rapped, “Kanyeezy, you’s a genius. You did it again.” Dave revealed that after the line played, Kanye stood up and spoke for the first time that day. Kanye said, “Stop the record! And rewind that.’”
Afterward, they went ahead to watch some unreleased sketches for The Dave Chappelle Show. Then, Kanye received a phone call and answered saying, “Hello? No, I Can’t. Because I’m at the edit for the Dave Chappelle Show, watching sketches that no one’s seen before.’” Kanye paused a bit and then declared, “Cause my life is dope, and I do dope s–t.” He hung up the phone immediately after that, impressing Dave, who knew he would become great.
The One Told By Fredo Bang
Baton Rouge rapper Fredo Bang discussed his odd encounter with Kanye West during an interview with HotNewHipHop. He revealed that he met Kanye while walking up to Hit Factory. Fredo narrated the experience, “I walk up to Kanye to shake his hand and Kanye tell me, “Congratulations.” I’m like, “For what?” And he never said what. So, I stopped shaking his hand, and then I reached back out to shake his hand again, just on some in the moment type sh**, ‘cause I’m not even thinking.” When asked if Kanye ever told him why he congratulated him, Fredo replied, “He never told me why he congratulated me. I was very shaken by that. I ain’t know whether to be happy or sad or something [laughs]. He told me congratulations.”
If there is anything to learn from these hilarious stories about Kanye, it is that he has always been the same person. Even before becoming famous, Kanye always believed in himself and knew he would be great. Love him or hate him, Kanye will always be Kanye, and that is something to admire.

Chris Brown is no stranger to making headlines but it’s not always for his music. His career has been marked by a couple of controversies along the way. Chris Brown has notably had beef with several fellow notable figures, and most have been his peers in the industry. From public feuds to heated exchanges, his time in the spotlight has been filled with several intense moments. Recently, Chris Brown and Quavo have taken jabs at each other via diss tracks, but that’s just one out of several instances of beef the R&B star has been in. Let’s dive into some of the most notable instances where Chris Brown found himself at odds with others in the industry.
Frank Ocean and Chris Brown’s beef seems to stem from a “compliment” Brown had given Ocean in 2012. Brown had likened Ocean to a “young James Fauntleroy or Kevin Cossum.” However, the singer did not appreciate the comment, and in response, likened Brown to a “young Sisqo or Ike Turner.” The spat came to a head a year later when Chris Brown and the singer reportedly got into a physical altercation outside a recording studio in Los Angeles.
This incident reportedly began over a parking space dispute but also fueled ongoing tensions between the two artists. According to TMZ, Brown had tried to exit a studio in West Hollywood, but Ocean and his entourage reportedly blocked his way. The entire scuffle resulted in Brown throwing a punch at Ocean, and some verbal exchanges were thrown around. Soon after the incident, Ocean took to Twitter to air his grievances. He wrote: “Got jumped by Chris and a couple guys. Cut my finger now I can’t play w two hands at the Grammys.”
Meek Mill
Chris Brown and Meek Mill found themselves in a beef after Brown decided to remove Meek from his album Fortune. The rumor mill was abuzz, and speculations arose that Brown’s decision was due to Meek’s alleged relationship with Rihanna. After being kicked off the album, Meek took to Twitter to express his thoughts, stating: “Dese chicks belong 2 da game… not u! Never get confused and that’s all u!”
In response, Brown swiftly replied with a tweet of his own. “She’s a dream chaser! There are plenty of dreamers, so she’ll be running forever!” Later on, reports surfaced that the two artists had gotten physical at a nightclub in New York City, resulting in Brown ending up with a bloody chin. After the debacle however, both artists came on Twitter to say that they had resolved their differences. Brown tweeted: “Me and @MeekMill ain’t on that nonsense. Real recognizes real….” Meek echoed the sentiment, affirming the mutual respect: “Nah, we just getting money!”
Quavo
Chris Brown and Quavo’s friendly past now long forgotten. Both of them have recently been embroiled in the Hip Hop war. The feud between the two began in 2017 when the Migos rapper began dating Brown’s ex, Karrueche Tran. Their beef saw an almost physical altercation at the 2017 BET Awards after-party.
Years later, fans and spectators alike thought that the matter had died down, as both artists sitting side-by-side at the Rhude Menswear Fall/Winter 2024-2025 show. However, Brown made it clear on Twitter that the beef was, in fact, not dead. Brown recently made a subtle jab at Quavo in his latest album 11:11 before going all out with a diss track titled “Weakest Link.”
On the track, he asserted that he had a romantic involvement with Saweetie while she was still with Quavo. He also called Quavo the “weakest link” in Migos, as well as other insults. In response, the former Migos member retaliated with his own diss track titled “Over Hoes and Bitches.” However, Brown remained unmoved and chose not to engage further.
In December 2010, the former B2K singer Raz-B posted a contemplative tweet. He wrote: “I’m just sitting here thinking how can n***as like Eric Bennet and Chris Brown disrespect women as intelligent as Halle Berry and Rihanna.” The tweet immediately triggered a homophobic response from Chris Brown. He also ridiculed Raz-B’s allegations of being molested by a fellow member of the boy band.
Brown tweeted: “@RazB2K n***a you want attention! Grow up n***a!!! D*ck in the booty a*s little boy. Tell me this @RazB2K!! Why when the money was coming in you weren’t complaining about getting butt-plugged! #h**othug!!! I ain’t deleting my tweet either!! I was minding my damn business and Peter Pan decides to pop off!!! #whatalame.” The online spat escalated, with singer Omarion and Raz-B’s brother getting involved. Thankfully, the beef died on the internet, and things never got physical. Brown later apologized to his LGBTQ+ fans, stating that Raz-B was just being disrespectful.
Drake
In 2012, tensions between Chris Brown and Drake became heated and resulted in an alleged scuffle at a nightclub in New York City. The clash reportedly stemmed from their mutual involvement with Rihanna. Bottles were thrown, and Brown left with a minor injury. The beef was temporarily squashed until 2015 when Brown bashed Drake on Hot 97. He said: “We’re not getting no check from talking about dude. We’re giving him all this pub. We’re us. I can’t keep making these motherfuckers famous. I’m responsible for reviving a lot of careers.”
Drake subsequently responded during his live performance of “Energy” in New Zealand. He changed some of the lyrics of the song, from “I got rap n***as that I gotta act like I like” to “I got R&B n***as that I gotta act like I like.” Seven years after they started their beef, the two artists buried the hatchet and collaborated on the song “No Guidance.” Drake later spoke to Rap Radar about the entire debacle. He said: “You know, really at the end of the day when you kind of step away from it and break it down you start to feel silly ’cause it’s over girl stuff, you know? But obviously, that can snowball into real shit and that’s what happened in this situation.”
Tyson Beckford
In 2015, Tyson Beckford and Chris Brown got into it over Bown’s ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran. After Beckford posted a photo of himself and Karrueche, Brown went on an online rant. He also sent threatening remarks to Beckford. In a now-deleted tweet, he said: “Keep playing I’ma f*ck ya baby momma and then whoop you child like he mine. U wanna keep walking them runways. I need ta legs for that. Keep playing like a ain’t wit the bullshit.”
In response, Beckford posted videos and tweets stating that he wasn’t afraid of Brown. He tweeted: “@chrisbrownofficial it’s all about fun in vegas. Come thru papa.” The two went back-and-forth over the weekend, with Brown later waving a white flag. He also acknowledged on Twitter that he was at fault and was being emotional.
The confrontation between Chris brown and Offset allegedly arose in 2019. This came after Offset criticized Brown for posting a meme about his friend, 21 Savage. Offset had commented on the meme post: “Memes ain’t funny lame.” Brown responded by labeling Offset as “sensitive,” and telling the rapper to focus on himself. He then went to hurl ageist insults at Offset, alleging that the rapper used drugs. He wrote: “If he don’t get his EARTH WIND AND FIRE pootytang space suits WEARING CAP A** LIL BOY da f**k out my comments and off my d**k.” Offset subsequently responded by bringing up Brown’s purported struggles with substance abuse.
Karrueche Tran just wants to move on with her life and not be involved with Chris Brown or Quavo. TMZ tracked down the star and asked how she felt about being the Hip-Hop Helen of Troy at the root of the CB and Quavo beef. She reveals she wants no part.
“I don’t feel, it is what it is,” Karrueche said. “I ain’t got nothing to do with it. I want to have a peaceful life. That’s all that I want.”
Tran revealed that she heard the songs and had no comments, before affirming, “I just want peace.” You can hear it from Karrueche below.

Last week, Quavo fired at Chris Brown following the release of his diss track, dropping one of his own “Over Hoes & Bitches (OHB).” The new track comes courtesy of an Akademiks premiere. You can hear it below.
Late Friday night (April 19), Chris Brown dropped off “Weakest Link,” which featured a voicemail from Quavo, Brown claiming to have sex with Saweetie while she dated Quavo and a wild Takeoff line.
In the opening voicemail, Chris Brown can be heard saying: “Now we can settle this like you got some class or we can get into some gangsta shit.” In response, Quavo said, “I don’t want no issues, I don’t want no smoke, I don’t wanna fight you.”
After a chant of “Who want smoke with me?” and calling Quavo “a bitch with dreads,” Chris Brown claims he had sex with Saweetie while she was dating Quavo.
“What’s all that boss shit you talkin’? You ain’t no huncho, nigga You the weakest link outta yo’ clique, let’s keep it a hundo, nigga You fucked my ex-ho, that’s cool, I don’t give no fuck, lil nigga ‘Cause I fucked yo’ ex when you were still with her, bitch, I’m up, lil nigga They say revenge is sweet, now think about that shit Don’t let that line go over your head, I might just sing about that shit I had her fiending ’bout that dick, there’s something sweet about that shit I got some tea up out that bitch, but I ain’t go speak about that shit”
Following that set, Breezy claims Quavo beat Saweetie in the elevator and that he wanted to beat the Migo at Fashion Week but wouldn’t mess up his money. Then the diss hits another level:
“You know it’s on, put you to bed, night, night, that’s Sudafed Show me that I’m tender, bitch, time to prove what you just said R.I.P. Takeoff, he the only real one, I got true respect Crazy how when he died, everybody really wished it was you instead You trippin’, Chris, don’t say that, don’t lose your head”
