Fans Roast 21 Savage “Call Of Duty” Character

After the success of Nicki Minaj’s implementation into Call of Duty, fans were hyped to see what Activision had done with 21 Savage. Savage was the last of the Hip-Hop 50 skins being added to the came, along with Snoop and Nicki. However, now that Savage is available, fans aren’t on board. “Why they got the man looking like 50 savage lol,” one person commented while another noted, “They made him buff!” Unlike Nicki’s impressive rendering, 21 Savage looks like a strange blend between himself and 50 Cent which was then run through a program to make it legally distinct.

However, not everyone was a hater. “Salute to all the Def Jam rappers who got taken advantage of back in the day using their name, image, and likeness in Def Jam Vendetta and never received the money due to them,” one fan wrote. “This new generation of artists like 21 Savage have their business in order.” The Hip-Hop 50 bundle is the latest pop culture addition to Call of Duty. Last month, the game introduced a bundle based on Prime Video’s The Boys. However, clearly, some aspects have been implemented than others.

Fans Pass On 21 Savage Skin

However, the criticism continued. “This how you know they know nothing bout hip hop. They playing deadprez while showcasing 21 savage,” one person argued. Furthermore, many people pointed out that the devs missed a golden opportunity to name the bundle’s melee weapon “Issa Knife”. Instead, the weapon is simply called the “Slaughter King”.

“The community will never get actual character skins we actually want.. like #johnwick or #tylerrake or something related to actual combat. Nobody wanted superheroes with super powers and assault rifles… or Godzilla and King Kong… WTF was that about?!?! 🙄🙄🙄,” one particularly commenter lamented. Meanwhile, many people simply said they were going to stick with the Nicki skin. While each bundle is only around $20, it was certainly a choice to stagger the releases. Regardless, it appears that this is more of a miss than anything else for the ever-popular military shooter. What do you think of the skin? Let us know below.

When Will 21 Savage Be In ‘Modern Warfare 2?’

21 Savage‘s discography contains plenty of gun talk, but soon, fans will be able to put his gunplay wordplay to the test — virtually — when he joins Call Of Duty‘s growing list of “operators” inspired by real-life rap heroes. Last year, Snoop Dogg was the first to enter the game series, while earlier this year, Nicki Minaj joined in after featuring in a recent ad for the games (toting a pink assault rifle, no less — shout-out to the “Blick Blick” video).

The London/Atlanta rapper is slated to arrive in the next DLC bundle, Season 05 Reloaded, for Modern Warfare II and Warzone. The bundle is slated to drop on August 30 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET across all platforms. According to Call Of Duty‘s official blog, the drop includes a new Resurgence experience, a new Multiplayer map, additional DMZ missions, and other content that will carry forward to the next game in the series, Modern Warfare III.

21 Savage voices himself in the game, of course, and his abilities and Weapon Blueprints all take tongue-in-cheek inspiration from his lyrics. For example, his preferred Secondary Weapon is a knife — you know, like his tattoo or his “Knife Talk” single with Drake — while his Finishing Move is called “Stabbed . . . a Lot.” You can grab the bundle, which includes vehicle skins, stickers, and other odds and ends, with the rest of the DLC on 8/30.

21 Savage Is Officially Getting His Own “Call Of Duty” Character

21 Savage is easily one of the biggest artists in hip-hop right now. As it stands, he is on Drake’s tour which is making millions of dollars every single night. Moreover, fans are anticipating his brand-new album, which will hopefully come out very soon. Overall, things are going exceptionally well for him, and it is great to see. His improvement since when he came onto the scene in 2016 has been palpable, and it will be fun to see what he gives us next.

Throughout the past couple of months, there have been all sorts of rumors about 21 and his alleged involvement with Call of Duty. A leaker claimed that the artist would be getting his very own operator skin. This means players would actually get to play as 21 Savage. It is a cool prospect, especially with Nicki Minaj getting her own character as well. In fact, the Nicki skin has already gotten a ton of praise from fans online. On Monday, Call of Duty finally made 21’s involvement with the game, official.

21 Savage x COD

The new 21 Savage operator is reportedly going to be released on August 30th. That means you will be able to experience 21 in the game as of tomorrow. Although, it remains to be seen how his character will stack up next to Nicki’s. We’re sure we are going to get some unique emotes and even some quotes. Not to mention, the gameplay footage of 21 is going to be very entertaining. If you are a fan of the rapper, then this latest addition to COD is going to be huge.

Fans Are Loving Nicki Minaj’s “Call Of Duty” Operator

August 24 marked the release of the Nicki Minaj bundle in Call of Duty. For $20/2400 CoD Points, you could play as the Trini rapper in all her badass pink glory. The bundle comes with the Nicki skin, themed weapon blueprints (“The Baddest” and “Super Freaky”), a pin-up loading screen, and a skin for the Hummer. Nicki also has access to several unique finishers, including “Get Bodied”. In the brutal move, Nicki jumps onto the back of a downed opponent and grinds her stilettos in their skull. The bundle is currently available for Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0. Furthermore, it will carry over into Modern Warfare III when it drops in November.

The release was announced with a new gameplay trailer that perfectly blended a look at the operator in action with several well-chosen Nicki references. As with the original reveal of the skin, people are actually pretty hyped to play as Nicki. “I don’t know how to play but ima learn!,” announced JT of The City Girls. FaZe Dirty posted a gif of a man offering his credit card to the camera. However, not everyone was a fan. Some saw the skin, and the overall hip hop theming, as Call of Duty attempting to capitalize on the Fortnite model of integrating media IP into the game. But how are people feeling now that it’s playable?

Fans Revel In Playable Nicki Minaj

In short, fans are loving the bundle. Numerous videos have surfaced online of players running riot with the skin. One video from Nicki fan account “Island Boy” shows a player absolutely dominating with the skin. The player racks up kills while also showcasing the wide variety of Nicki voice lines. Meanwhile, another clip shows a streamer becoming distraught when they realize that they have just killed another player wearing the Nicki skin. As they look down at the dead Nicki, they themselves are killed. This leads them to proclaim “Oh my god, my pussy is on Nicki’s face.” Side note, it appears that Nicki goes down in a cloud of pink smoke if you manage to kill her.

No word on whether Nicki herself has tried the skin yet. However, it’s safe to say that fans are hyped and happy. Meanwhile, Nicki’s making headlines elsewhere. “Barbie World”, Minaj’s track with Ice Spice for Barbie, has hit #1 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay Chart, which tracks radio plays on “rhythmic radio stations”. Not only was this achieved by a 31% increase in airplay, but it also broke a record. The song’s rise from #7 to #1 was the biggest jump recorded since the chart was first published in 1992.

Nicki Minaj Is A “Monster” In New Trailer For “Call Of Duty” Skin

Earlier this month, Nicki Minaj became a playable character in Call of Duty. An operator skin modeled after the rapper became available for purchase in Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0. The base skin comes with a pink outfit and matching weapons skins. Skins based on Snoop Dogg and 21 Savage were also released as part of a wider celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary.

Nicki became available for purchase on August 24. Her bundle costs 2400 CoD points, or $19.99. While hype was already pretty high for the release, the devs went on step further by dropping another trailer to promote that the fact that Nicki can be yours to own in-game.

Nicki Minaj Is a “Monster” Of An Operator

In new trailer promoting the Nicki Minaj bundle, Call of Duty leaned into one of the rapper’s more iconic features. The gameplay trailer, which is nothing we haven’t already seen, takes things up a notch with its audio cues. As Minaj kicks ass, crashes hummers, and generally does Call of Duty things, her character can be heard spitting bars. Specifically, Minaj can be heard utilizing some of her highlights from her verse on Kanye West’s “Monster”. “Pull up in the monster, automobile gangsta,” can be heard as Nicki runs a car off the road. Furthermore, the trailer opens with “Playtime is over when Nicki drops in.” This serves as both a reference to the act of “dropping in” on the map as well as Nicki’s 2007 mixtape Playtime Is Over.

As with the original reveal of the skin, people are actually pretty hyped to play as Nicki. “I don’t know how to play but ima learn!,” announced JT of The City Girls. FaZe Dirty posted a gif of a man offering his credit card to the camera. However, not everyone was a fan. Many saw the skin, and the overall hip hop theming, as Call of Duty attempting to capitalize on the Fortnite model of integrating media IP into the game. Last month saw the release of a collaboration with The Boys, which included a Homelander operator skin. Will you be buying the Nicki Minaj bundle? Let us know in the comments.

Pusha T Needle Drop Hypes “Modern Warfare III” Trailer

Activision are continuing their trend of revitalizing their storied Call of Duty franchise with another remake. The remake of Modern Warfare III, originally released in 2011, will drop in November. The move to modernize some of the best-regarded titles in the long-running franchise has been well-received by many fans. Former Call of Duty pro, and founder of esports org 100 Thieves, Christopher “Nadeshot” Haag said that news of the game so far appears to indicate that Sledgehammer, the studio behind MW3 is “giving us everything we’ve been asking for.”

Modern Warfare III picks up immediately after Modern Warfare II. Soap, Price, and Nikolai are on the run after the murder of Lieutenant General Shepard. Of course, it doesn’t appear to matter that Shepard had just detonated a nuke, that’s just geopolitics for you. Most of the game is spent playing Yuri, a former Spetznaz operator who joins Price in his hunt for Russian ultranationalist Vladimir Makarov. Activision has since dropped a teaser for the game, including some absolute choice music.

The teaser follows big bad Makarov being escorted through prison to receive a new tattoo. Meanwhile, Soap gives one of his usual sonorous monologues about stopping evil. This is overlaid with footage of some of the game’s more iconic moments – a terror attack in London, Makarov bringing down a plane carrying the President of Russia. All in all, it’s an incredibly hype trailer ahead of the “worldwide reveal” on August 17.

A majority of the trailer is scored to Colonel Bagshot’s 1971 single “Six Day War”. However, right at the end, as Makarov looks to the camera, there is an amazing Pusha T needle drop. Pusha sampled “Six Day War” on “Just So You Remember” last year and it’s that intense line (My Joker smile, you know who the villain is/Just so you remember who you dealin’ with…) that hear right at the end of the video. Furthermore, Pusha shared the video to his Instagram with the lyrics in the caption.

“Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” Teaser Revealed: Watch

One of the biggest video game franchises in the entire world is Call Of Duty. Every single year, Activision releases a new version of the game for fans to enjoy. Although each game ends up being hit with similar criticisms, fans continue buying them. Over the past few years, we have seen a reboot of the Modern Warfare series. Unfortunately, this has led to confusion over the titles as they contain the same words as the games from a decade ago. Moreover, people prefer the OGs by a long shot.

Last year, we ended up getting Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Ultimately, some felt like the game was a disappointment. The OG MW2 is iconic for numerous reasons. Consequently, it was always going to be a tough task for Activision to produce a game that really lived up to the expectations. That said, we are now about to enter the Fall in a month from now, which means a new COD is on the horizon. As it turns out, that game will just so happen to be Modern Warfare 3.

Nicki Minaj’s COD Voiceovers Are Here And Fans Are Loving Them

Last week, Call Of Duty fans were surprised by the announcement that Nicki Minaj was coming to the game. She’s joining the cast of the 5th season of Call Of Duty: Warzone and Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Fittingly, the character has captured both her iconic look and her iconic attitude. She joins the game as a part of a celebration of rap’s 50th anniversary. Fans will also have the opportunity to play as rappers like 21 Savage and Snoop Dogg. As soon as the character became available fans were pouring through some of her hilarious dialogue lines and posting them to social media.

According to XXL, when you select her as a playable character she Nicki Minaj says phrases like “Body bagged them” and “Check your fire ’bout to get on the Queen’s bad side.” The character in game is based on one of Nicki’s alternate identities “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” and comes with an all-pink outfit, pink hair, and a pink gun to match. Getting the character herself requires purchase of a microtransaction. Her “Operator Bundle” costs 2,400 COD Points to purchase. You can listen to some of her voice lines below.

Nicki Minaj Joins “Call Of Duty”

Nicki Minaj has promised fans that her first new album since 2018’s Queen will be dropping later this year. She recently made a tantalizing tweet promising fans that the album would drop on November 17th and be accompanied by a tour. Historically, Minaj hasn’t always been the best at sticking to release dates for things she announces. Many fans have taken the Tweet with a grain of salt. But if the album did eventually release it would be one of the biggest rap moments of the year.

Another one of the big rap moments this year was Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape. Fans immediately noticed the title which sounds quite a bit like a Nicki Minaj album. Uzi recently admitted in an interview that they had similar thoughts but ultimately cleared the project with Nicki. What do you think of Nicki’s appearance in the new season of Call Of Duty: Warzone? Let us know in the comment section below.
