Jake Paul Believes KSI Should Have Recent Boxing Win Vacated

While YouTuber KSI has not devoted himself as much to boxing as Jake Paul, the British star is still known to get into the ring from time to time. He is undefeated in seven fights (one professional, four exhibition, two amateur) and is well-regarded in boxing circles.

On May 13, KSI faced British boxer and businessman Joe Fournier. Fournier was 13-0 in his professional career but was coming off a loss in his most recent fight. In September 2021, Fournier loss by decision to David Haye. The fight was for the Misfits Boxing cruiserweight title, held by KSI. The YouTuber had won the belt in 2022 and successfully defended it in January 2023. While a hyped matchup, it was over quickly. KSI needed just two rounds to land a KO on Fournier. However, not everyone is happy with the result.

Jake Paul Claims KSI Threw An Elbow

Soon after the fight, Jake Paul took to Twitter, posting a video of KSI’s knockout. I respect boxing too much to respect what that was. “If that was indeed a real boxing match it will be ruled a no contest or disqualification,” Paul wrote. The YouTuber-turned-boxer was referring to the apparent contact between KSI’s elbow and Fournier’s face that scored the knockout. In the footage, Fournier appears to dodge a punch from KSI, only to make contact with the YouTuber’s elbow. Paul reiterated his sentiment on Instagram.

At the time of writing, the fight has been officially called as a victory for KSI. However, that could change in the coming days. If DAZN, the boxing promoter who oversees and broadcasts Misfits Boxing, deems the incident worth of review, the result could become one of two things. Firstly, the Fournier could be declared the winner. If the elbow was ruled to be intentional, then KSI could be disqualified. However, the more likely outcome in the case of a review would be a ruling of no contest. This would come in the event that an illegal elbow was deemed to have been thrown but no intentionally. This is a developing story and we’ll have any updates here at HotNewHipHop.

Lil Durk Offers 6ix9ine $50 Million To Get In The Ring

Lil Durk just teamed up with J. Cole for a song called “All My Life.” Overall, fans are loving this track as it is showcasing a new direction for the artist. Although, it came at a cost as Durk’s album has officially been delayed. Fans were expecting a project, however, it never came. Now, fans will have to wait, although based on what we heard last night, that wait will be worth it. After all, Durk is one of the biggest artists in hip-hop, and all of his albums seem to hit near the top of the charts.

With this new direction also comes a new mentality. Lil Durk has been in his share of feuds, but now, he wants to put them to bed. In fact, last night, he decided to share some messages with none other than 6ix9ine. 6ix9ine has said some terrible things to Durk and has consistently made fun of King Von’s death. However, Durk believes there is a solution to this problem. “I don’t want you hurt or dead you a kid from the burbs I got 50 million my own money without help to fight you on tv in dubi, we can double the money 3 rounds,” Lil Durk wrote in an Instagram DM. He also said “stop the violence,” which is ironic given his offer.

Lil Durk Lets His Challenge Be Known

Unfortunately, 6ix9ine doesn’t want to go to Dubai. Moreover, he doesn’t even want Durk’s money. “It’s so funny because I know you on album press run,” 6ix9ine wrote. “U need anything to promote this album since nba young boy not biting the bait. But I wanna fight you for now money pussy. For Free. Come to Miami let’s get a hotel room and just throw down 1 on 1.” Subsequently, Durk told the rainbow-haired rapper to “enjoy his day” and that he has no interest in going to a hotel.

There are probably dozens of boxing promoters throughout the United States who would drool at the thought of putting on a fight like this one. However, it is clear that it is a pipe dream. Ryan Garcia Hopes For Future Rematch With Gervonta Davis

Gervonta Davis versus Ryan Garcia was billed as the fight of 2023. It was something of a unicorn – two undefeated fighters in their prime who fight exclusively on competing PPV networks. Davis, the WBA regular lightweight champion, was 28-0 before the fight and fights exclusively on DAZN. Garcia, a former interim champion in the same class, was 23-0 and fights exclusively on Showtime. But, to the delight of many, the two would face off in a non-title match in Vegas.

Titled It Doesn’t Get Better Than This, the fight pitted two brutal fighters against one another. The bout would end in a knockout, that was for certain, Davis is a knockout specialist, having finished 26 of 28 fights in that manner. Meanwhile, Garcia has become famous for his devastating left hook. The fight was massively hyped, with wild wagers, jaw-breaking promises, and a Jay-Z-narrated fight video.

Garcia Concedes Defeat But Promises Comeback

However, the fight was much more reserved than some fans may have expected. There were hard hits, yes, but both fighters fought strategically, waiting for the perfect time to strike. That moment came in the seventh round, as Davis found a chink in the armor and delivered a brutal liver shot. Garcia sunk to one knee and while Davis thought he was playing “mind games”, Garcia was eventually counted out. It was the second knockdown that Davis had delivered during the fight but it was the one Garcia couldn’t come back from.

Taking to Instagram after the fight, Garcia graciously accepted defeat. “Obviously I’m disappointed. I tried my best but he caught me with a good body shot.” Garcia began. However, he vowed that he was far from done. “I’ll come back stronger and yeah man, one day
wrack up a couple wins and maybe we could do a rematch at maybe 140, 147.” However, in separate interviews, Garcia said his immediate goal was to add weight and return to his traditional class of junior welterweight. “I plan to fight the best fighters at 140 [pounds],” Garcia told reporters. The fight contract does contain a rematch clause, but only a loss by Davis would have triggered an immediate rematch plan. However, Davis is currently due to be sentenced for his involvement in a 2020 hit-and-run that injured four people.

Gervonta Davis And Ryan Garcia Make Another Bold Promise

Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia have already taken numerous steps in ensuring that their April 22 bout is going to be the boxing event of the year. The catchweight fight, which pits the reigning WBA lightweight champion against the former interim WBA champion, is already set to be a star-studded Vegas affair. The fight features two undefeated boxers and has the feel of a title fight, despite no belt being on the line.

But Davis and Garcia have also gone out of their way to make the spectacle as hype as possible. Last week, the fighters agreed to make it an all-or-nothing bout. Both will wager their purse on the result, meaning the fight immediately became a winner-takes-all affair. Now, just over 24 hours before the bell rings, they have once again made headlines.

Davis And Garia Vow To Break Each Other’s Jaw

Both fighters spoke to ESPN after their public press conference. Garcia (23-0) envisioned silencing the sold-out crowd at T-Mobile Arena. “I see him getting caught with a left hook, just slept – goodnight,” Garcia said, “One of the most brutal knockouts you’ve seen in many years. And the whole crowd’s just going to go silent and we’re all going to have to take a knee. I see that. Seriously.” Additionally, Garcia is barely speaking hyperbolically. While he has only finished nine of his 23 career fights via knockout, his devastating left hook has become his signature. This includes his last fight in July 2022 against Javier Fortuna.

However, Davis was undeterred by the 24-year-old’s bravado. “All he talks about is that one punch. I only need one, too. I touch that jaw and I’m telling you: you’re going to sleep. I’m going to break your jaw, I promise you. Don’t even bring your mother or your daughter.” Furthermore, Davis has a resume to back up his comment. Davis is a knockout specialist, finishing 26 of 28 fights through KO. Despite the barbs, we will have to wait until Saturday night to find out which of these powerhouse fighters will come out on top. Davis v Garcia: It Doesn’t Get Better Than This is set to start 8pm EDT on April 22.
