Blac Youngsta Finally Gets Some Good News Amid Gun Case

Blac Youngsta has dealt with a Texas gun case for a couple of years now, but it seems like those days are finally over. Moreover, a judge in Dallas court reportedly just dismissed the case, according to court documents reportedly obtained by TMZ. Authorities charged him back in October of 2020 after the Lone Star arrest with unlawful possession of a firearm by a person with a felony history. The Heavy Camp, Checkmate rapper’s lawyer Carl A. Moore told the outlet that his client is glad to get this over with and commended the District Attorney’s office. He apparently refused a pre-trial diversion program before this dismissal.

Furthermore, authorities arrested Blac Youngsta in 2020 during a routine traffic stop, finding a handgun tucked in his legs as he rode shotgun. You can see a clip of this by clicking the “Via” link below, which shows him amicably talking to police officers about their van during the arrest. The Memphis native had been arrested in September of the previous year on similar charges. These days, it seems like he has bigger and more positive things to focus on, such as some onstage antics last year that gave 50 Cent a chuckle.

Sadly, this news also comes amid a pretty difficult time for Blac Youngsta and his family. Moreover, police finally arrested a suspect for their alleged involvement in his brother’s murder. “I Love U Baby Brother Rest Up,” Youngsta mourned on Instagram after this tragedy. “I’m Gone Make The World Pay. I Swear To God Nobody Safe. Standing Over Everybody. Everybody #4LIFE. Gone Make Sure They Feel Me I Promise. Life Will Never Me The Same But God Got Me. I’m The Strongest Man N The World.”

Meanwhile, many Blac Youngsta fans thought that his Blac Sheep 2 project was a tribute to his brother. At least he doesn’t have to deal with the headache of this long gun case anymore in his path of recovery and grief. Our prayers go out to Youngsta’s loved ones, especially as we just reached the one-year anniversary of this shooting. Hopefully there are much brighter days ahead.

Yo Gotti’s CMG label family has a cause worth celebrating. According to TMZ, Blac Youngsta’s (real name Sammie Marquez Benson) pending legal case is a thing of the past.

In the outlet’s report, the “Shake Sum” rapper’s unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon case has been dismissed by a Texas judge.

Following the decision, TMZ spoke with Blac Youngsta’s lawyer, Carl A. Moore. During the chat, Moore expressed on behalf of his client that Youngsta was “happy to put this case behind him.” This is to be expected considering the incident stems from his October 2020 arrest in Dallas.

Moore went on to say he “feels the District Attorney’s Office did the right thing by dropping the charge” and “justice has finally prevailed.”

At the time of Youngsta’s arrest, cops alleged they stopped a vehicle as part of a routine traffic stop. During their initial inspection, in which Blac Youngsta was seated in the passenger’s side, officers claimed Youngsta had a handgun tucked between his legs.

Blac Youngsta hasn’t released a public statement in regard to the case’s dismissal. However, with the case behind him, fans are wondering what’s next for Blac Youngsta. Blac Youngsta’s latest studio album, 4LIFE, celebrated its second anniversary. Could this mean another full-length release is on the way? Well, fans surely hope so.

Man Arrested For Alleged Involvement In Blac Youngsta’s Brother’s Murder

Blac Youngsta’s brother Tomanuel Benson was tragically shot and killed in August of last year, a case that saw little development in its immediate aftermath. However, that recently changed as authorities arrested a 28-year-old man in Memphis for his alleged involvement in the shooting. For those unaware, the rapper’s brother passed away after a shooting at a Memphis gas station. An investigation into the incident resulted in police naming Randy Darnell Ewing Jr. as a suspect, and warrants for his arrest emerged shortly after. This is the most recent development following a months-long manhunt that hadn’t resulted in any concrete news up until this point.

Furthermore, Ewing Jr. received charges of second-degree murder, criminally attempted second-degree murder, violations of the sex offender registry law, and other firearm offense-related charges. U.S. Marshals worked with Memphis PD and Shelby County’s Sheriff’s Office to capture Blac Youngsta’s brother’s alleged killer after a short chase on Tuesday night (February 13), according to AllHipHop. They found Ewing Jr. while armed and treated him for his injuries sustained during the chase before transferring him to Shelby County Jail. Detectives and other authorities remain tight-lipped when it comes to possible motives.

Meanwhile, this is how Blac Youngsta mourned his brother on social media. “I Love U Baby Brother Rest Up,” he wrote on his Instagram Story at the time.

Still, the rapper has also done a lot in his career as of late to make sure he is tributing Tomanuel Benson in every facet of his life. Blac Youngsta is easily one of the more prolific rappers from Memphis, Tennessee. The 33-year-old label head is back once again to follow up a recent drop. Unfortunately, his last record came during an agonizing time. Youngsta was dealing with the loss of his brother at the hands of a shooter at a local gas station.

Of course, Blac grieved the way most artists do, which is to make some music about their loved ones. That theme was quite heavy on Blac Sheep 2, a sequel to the original dropped months before it. He still was able to bring some turnt tracks though. We continue to wish Blac Youngsta, as well as his family and friends, the very best going forward.

Blac Youngsta’s Brother’s Murder: U.S. Marshals Offer $5K Reward For Suspect

Authorities are still on the hunt for the lead suspect in Blac Youngsta’s brother’s murder in Memphis, Tennessee. Moreover, Tomanuel Benson passed away after the suspect, Randy Ewing, allegedly struck him in a shooting at a gas station in August. While police identified the suspected individual and released pictures of him, as well, they seem no closer to finding the man and potentially closing this case. As such, U.S. Marshals are now offering a $5K reward to whoever can locate Ewing or provide information crucial to his arrest. They announced this incentive on Wednesday (September 6), and hopefully it brings the Benson family closer to justice.

Furthermore, this struggle in finding Ewing seems multi-faceted on behalf of law enforcement. For example, Marshals maintained that he has two active warrants in Shelby County: one for attempted murder in the second degree and one for violating sex offender registry mandates from earlier convictions. Considering this danger and history, officials are hard at work trying everything they can to track him down as fast as possible. Unfortunately and tragically, this tragedy and subsequent manhunt is something Blac Youngsta is no stranger to.

The rapper lost brothers before; one in 2016 and one in 2019. After Tomanuel passed, he wrote a pained message on his social media to honor him. “I Love U Baby Brother Rest Up,” Blac Youngsta expressed on his Instagram Story.

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old also released a project titled Blac Sheep 2, seemingly dedicated to his fallen brother. Even though this is a saddening point of Youngsta’s life, it seems he still wants to keep memory and legacy alive through his art. Hopefully he and his family can get at least a little closure on Tomanuel’s passing within time. Stay up to date on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Blac Youngsta.

Blac Youngsta Seemingly Releases A Tribute Album To His Late Brother With “Blac Sheep 2”

Memphis rapper Blac Youngsta is currently going through an extremely tough time in his life. He is still grieving the loss of his late brother Tomanuel Benson a few weeks ago. Tomanuel was reportedly shot by a man named Randy Ewing according to the Memphis Police Department at a gas station. It is still not official that it was Ewing, but he is the main suspect. Additionally, authorities still brought forth charges of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

Even with a lot going on in Youngsta’s life, he is still in the headspace to release new material. That is why he just put out his sequel to his second 2023 project Blac Sheep. Blac Sheep 2 comes just four months later and contains 15 tracks, equaling a runtime of 42 minutes and 26 seconds. There are also no features here, just like the first Blac Sheep. However, there is more sentiment on this record, as quite a few tracks reference the recent tragic event of his lost brother.

For example, the closing song “Too Far” features Youngsta talking about moving carefully but also dangerously. In the outro to the track, he says, “Keep your motherf****n’ head down, keep your head up n**** no matter what goin’ on.” He continues, “Be careful out here / Stay dangerous and be safe at the same time / Be smart move wise Blac Sheep.” This seems to be a reference to the Instagram story he shared moments after the passing, “I’m Gone Make The World Pay. I Swear To God Nobody Safe. Standing Over Everybody. Everybody #4LIFE. Gone Make Sure They Feel Me I Promise.” It is not confirmed that this is partially a tribute to his family member, but with messages on tracks like this one, it is hard to deny that he was inspired to write some lyrics about it.

Yo Gotti, Moneybagg Yo And CMG Show That Life Imitates Art In The Somber ‘Gangsta Art’ Video

People may admire the canvasses, but they can never know the full story behind each brush stroke if it isn’t told. Though Collective Music Group may appear successful on the surface, there is pain and struggle behind their journeys that makes where they are now even more laudable. Their latest video for “Gangsta Art,” featuring Yo Gotti, Moneybagg Yo, 42 Dugg, EST Gee, Blac Youngsta and Lehla Samia, tells the story behind their work

Samia handles the hook while Mozzy, Moneybagg, Gee, Dugg, Youngsta and Gotti all tell their own stories through verses accompanied by elaborate scenes. Mozzy spits from bedside, EST Gee sits on a bench, Moneybagg Yo shows blood dripping from his shoulders, Blac Youngsta is chained up, and Yo Gotti sits in front of an oven. The only person missing from the video is the incarcerated 42 Dugg, but his energy is still felt.

“Gangsta Art” is both the opener and title track from CMG’s latest label compilation album. Gangsta Art also features Kodak Black, Coi Leray, Big30, and more across its 27 records. If CMG somehow wasn’t on radars before, they are making sure to change that with efforts like this.

Check out CMG’s “Gangsta Art” video above.

42 Dugg is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
