It’s not a secret that Rick Ross likes to go big, and it looks like his love life is no exception. Recently, the hitmaker surprised his girlfriend Cristina Mackey with a pretty extravagant gesture during a vacation in Dubai. In a new clip, he’s seen standing on a balcony, flexing the breathtaking view behind him. The skyline wasn’t the only thing he stunned fans with on the trip, however.

Later on, Mackey filmed as her man performed in front of an impressive-looking pool, a digital billboard lit up behind him. Flashing across the screen was Mackey’s Instagram profile. It, of course, boasts plenty of photos of the two of them and their luxurious excursions. She shared a clip of the sweet moment on IG, poking fun at critics of their relationship in her caption. “‘He don’t post you’ I’m at every show. [laughing emoji] in real life,” she wrote.

Her caption wasn’t the only time she took aim at haters, however. Earlier this month she shared a message with those leaving shady comments on her page, claiming that they’re simply doing so out of jealousy. In a video shared on The Shade Room‘s Instagram, she responds to critics dissing her over a photo of her and Rick Ross, accusing them of not wanting to see others “winning.” Unfortunately, the video only resulted in more backlash, which she took to the comments section to respond to.

The Alchemist Reacts To Billboard’s “Best Hip-Hop Producers” List Snub

The Alchemist keeps proving himself as one of the game’s best producers year after year, but it seems like not everyone’s caught up. Moreover, Billboard recently put out their list of the 25 best hip-hop producers of all time, including Dr. Dre, The Neptunes, J Dilla, and many more. However, Uncle Al didn’t make the list, something that many hip-hop fans lamented online despite the incredibly steep competition across the culture’s 50 years. Via Twitter on Thursday (December 28), he suggested that he was pretty unbothered by the lack of mention while maintaining that the important thing is to focus on proving yourself right every single time.

“but my mommy said i’m the best!!! lol,” The Alchemist joked along with a praying hands emoji in response to Billboard‘s ranking. “Just keep going cr*zy,” he added about an hour later on the social media platform, seemingly continuing his train of thought. “Ignore the scoreboard. By the time they do the math you’ll be so up that it won’t even matter.” Given the California native’s incredible and prolific run of projects and credits in the 2020s decade alone, it’s clear that he’s not slowing down at all in this regard.

This was originally meant to be a sequel mixtape to the original Hall & Nash by the Griselda duo over half a decade ago. Alas, they used some of these tracks like “Ray Mysterio” for other projects, but they now released the original version of the record for fans to enjoy. Not only that, but apparently they’re coming through with an revamped version later in 2024, which should be very exciting.

Meanwhile, the 46-year-old also has some new music with Yasiin Bey coming soon, of which he previewed some at a recent show. As his collaborations expand and his status further cements itself in the contemporary game, he becomes much more than just a legend. Nicki Minaj Shares Video Of Hater Hiding Copies Of Her New Album

Nicki Minaj has long shown that she cares a lot about the success of her music on the charts. She once notoriously teamed up with 6ix9ine for the song “Trollz” and used digital purchases from her website to propel it all the way to the top of the Hot 100. In fact, when Billboard changed their rules about website sales and bundles impacting their charts many fans speculated that it was inspired by Nicki directly.

Now Nicki is once again paying attention to how her sales are being generated. Rather in this case, how they aren’t being generated. Seemingly a random Nicki hater took to Twitter to share a video of them hiding physical copies of her new album Pink Friday 2 behind other CDs and Vinyls in a record store. “no physical sales for you” the post’s caption reads. Nicki herself caught wind of the tweet and shared it to her audience with a quote tweet where she tagged Billboard. It’s hard to see what exactly Billboard could do about the matter, but she just wanted to bring it to their attention. Check out the tweet and accompanying video below.

Nicki Minaj hasn’t exactly been lacking in success this month. She released her first new album in 5 years Pink Friday 2 and it’s performed quite well. In the album’s first week, it surpassed 200k total sales on its way to debuting at number one on the Billboard 200. Additionally even in its second week, it didn’t slip far, dropping down to #2 behind only Taylor Swift.

The album has also performed pretty well on digital platforms. Consequently, Nicki has been no stranger about flexing the project’s Spotify success to fans online. Ice Spice Reportedly Earns “Billboard” Female Hip-Hop Album Of The Year As Rapper’s Flag Spotted Over Capitol Records

Billboard has named Like..? by Ice Spice their female hip-hop album of the year, according to Chart Data. However, the claim should be taken with some skepticism as at this time, Billboard has not released anything acknowledging this statement. As a result, it’s unclear why Billboard chose Like…? to top their staff picks for the year.

Meanwhile, the rapper’s flag (a modified American flag in pink with an image of Spice) was spotted flying over the headquarters of Capitol Records. While the meaning of the flag was unclear, fans hoped it meant that Spice would be dropping her full-length debut in 2024. This comes after hints from her long-time producer, RIOTUSA, that the album might be coming next year.

Of course, a massive 2024 would be the logistical next step for Spice, who enjoyed a major breakout year in 2023. This included getting her own drink at Dunkin Donuts. The first ad for the Ice Spice Munchkins Drink dropped during the VMAs on September 12. In something of a meta advertisement, Spice and certified Boston Boy Ben Affleck try to come up with names for her signature drink. It’s a fun little spot with Affleck turning his Southie accent up to 11. Furthermore, an unimpressed Spice serves as his straight woman.

The promotion was on the radar for a while now. However, the ad spot was the first official debut of the promotion, which hit stores on September 13. “Pumpkin spice season has gotten a bit predictable lately, so we sought help from our friends Ben Affleck and Ice Spice to create a new pumpkin obsession that only Dunkin’ can offer. The result? The collaboration you never knew you needed: Pumpkin Munchkins and Frozen Dunkin’ Coffee. Blended together to create the Ice Spice Munchkins Drink. It’s fun, it’s delicious, and it’s not your ordinary pumpkin drink,” Dunkin’ Donut’s CMO Jill McVicar Nelson told Food & Wine.

Nicki Minaj Sample Causes Billie Eilish Song To Return To The Charts

Earlier this month, Nicki Minaj released her highly-anticipated 5th studio album Pink Friday 2. Just hours before the project dropped she teased that pop superstar Billie Eilish was involved. While many fans were hoping for a feature it ended up being a sample, albeit a pretty substantial one. The album’s opening track “Are You Gone Already” uses a hefty sample of Billie’s track “When The Party’s Over” from her 2018 debut album When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go.

Now 5 years after the track was originally released it’s returning to Billboard charts in the wake of Pink Friday 2. The track returned to two different charts in this week’s tracking period. Those charts are the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart and the Hot Alternative Songs chart where the song landed at number 25 and 14 respectively. Eilish has a pretty extensive history with success on the Billboard charts. Both of her studio albums debuted at the top spot on the Billboard 200 in their first weeks. She also scored a number one hit on the Hot 100 with her smash single “Bad Guy” in 2019.

Pink Friday 2 itself also made a pretty significant splash on a number of Billboard charts. The biggest achievement for the album was debuting at the number one spot on the Billboard 200. It’s a record-breaking third number-one album for Nicki Minaj putting her ahead of any other female rapper. The album also pulled sold more than 200k units in its first week alone.

14 different songs from Pink Friday 2 also landed on the Hot 100 this week. That includes three inside the top 50. The achievement is even more impressive given the time of year. During late November and throughout December Christmas songs take up a majority of the Hot 100’s top 50 as they rack up hundreds of thousands of streams. Nicki Minaj Scores Her First Ever Number One Hit On The Gospel Charts

Nicki Minaj has roared back into the public eye with the release of her 5th studio album Pink Friday 2 earlier this month. The project was her first new studio album in 5 years and came in on a massive wave of hype from her devoted fanbase. Nicki didn’t hold anything back from the project including a trio of singles that had already reached chart success and a variety of high-profile features. Drake, J. Cole, Future, Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, and more appear on the project.

One of those features is from gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard. She appears on the track “Blessings” which pops up near the end of the album. The genre switch-up ultimately netted Nicki a brand new achievement on the charts. The song hit number one on this week’s edition of the Hot Gospel Songs chart, the first time Nicki has topped this specific chart. The song marks Leonard’s 5th time reaching the very top of Hot Gospel Songs chart. It’s one of numerous charts that were rocked by the release of Pink Friday 2. Pink Friday 2 also had an impressive impact on the Hot 100. 14 of the album’s 22 tracks made an appearance on this week’s chart. Three of the songs cracked the top 50. They were led by “Everybody” featuring Lil Uzi Vert which debuted inside the top 30. The number are particularly impressive given how much Christmas music dominates the Hot 100 this time of year. Christmas songs make up the majority of the Top 50 on this weeks chart.

Where the album made its most dominant impression was on the Billboard 200 where it stormed to a commanding first week debut. The album debuted at the number one spot after pushing more than 200k units in its first week. That total is enough to place it among the ten biggest first-week debuts of 2023. Young Thug Supported By “Free Jeffery” Billboard In Times Square

A billboard in support of Young Thug popped up in Times Square, this week, featuring the phrases “Truly Humble Under God,” and “Free Jeffrery.” The entertainment company, TSX, takes credit for its placement in the advertisement. The billboard comes as Thug’s RICO trial is set to resume, next month.

The phrase, “Truly Humble Under God,” is an acronym for the rapper’s “Thug” name. His attorney, Brian Steel, revealed the meaning during the trial, earlier this month. “T.H.U.G. meant and means to Jeffery something very personal,” Steel said in court. “It was his pact that if he could ever make it as a musical artist and help his family, himself, and as many others out of this endless cycle of hopelessness, he would be truly humbled under God. That’s what T.H.U.G. means.”

Cardi B Claims That Country Music Is Taking Over The Charts

The music industry is a complicated place where sometimes even artists themselves can’t tell why something succeeds or fails. But during a recent Instagram live Cardi B tried her best to explain a recent trend she noticed in the music industry. What she’s trying to identify is why country music is more popular than ever and there’s some evidence to back up her claims. For much of the first half of 2023, the Billboard 200 was dominated by Morgan Wallen’s album One Thing At A Time. Throughout that same time frame Wallen’s song “Last Night” led the Hot 100 for months on its way to becoming the biggest hit of 2023.

Cardi B thinks she has an explanation for why its happening. In the clip from her livestream she theorizes that middle-American country music listeners. She claims they’re switching from buying CDs, to buying music from digital platforms. There’s certainly some evidence to back up her claims as well. Two country hits from this year, Jason Aldean’s “Try That In A Small Town” and Oliver Anthony’s “Rich Men North Of Richmond” rose up the charts with a disproportionate amount of their sales coming from purchases rather than streams. Cardi B’s Instagram Lives have been a place for piping hot tea in recent weeks. That comes as she’s dealt with numerous public dramas. The biggest is her alleged separation from her husband and former Migos rapper Offset. The story turned from just rumors into a full blown scandal when Cardi went on her Instagram live last week. During the stream she described herself as “single.” The claim sent fans into a full blown frenzy of trying to dissect exactly what happened and when.

The Cardi B and Offset drama doesn’t appear to be reaching any kind of conclusion either. They’ve continued to face even more rumors about their potential long-term plans. Earlier this week the pair were both announced as performers for New Year’s Eve parties taking place at the same venue. That sparked even more debate from fans as to where the two stand at this time. Playboi Carti Gets “Whole Lotta Red” To Chart Again Amid New Album Hype

Playboi Carti has fans extremely excited for his new album. Overall, there is no telling when this album will be released. Some are saying January and that it could be as early as the fifth. Ultimately, there is no telling whether or not that will be the case. After all, Carti is someone who has always prided himself on being mysterious. He typically keeps to himself and then comes out of nowhere with a surprise release. The same happened with Die Lit and it subsequently happened with Whole Lotta Red.

Speaking of Whole Lotta Red, this would have been his last full-length release. He came through with the album back in 2020, on Christmas Day. This is one of those albums that had to grow on people. The album had very few day one defenders, and now, it is considered a modern classic. That said, with all of this hype around Carti’s new album, it would appear as though people are going back to the project. In the Instagram post below, from DJ Akademiks, you can see that the album has re-entered the Billboard 200 Albums chart.

This should come as absolutely no surprise at this point. Overall, fans love to go revisit and artist’s previous projects whenever they have something new on the way. For the past week or so, Kanye West fans have been checking out his old projects knowing the Vultures is on the way. Regardless, fans are very excited about this new Carti project. He is showcasing a brand-new sound and flow that has proven to be a hit. Whether or not he sticks with that for a whole project, still remains to be seen.

E-40 Praises NBA YoungBoy: “He’s An Old Soul”

E-40 had some major props for NBA YoungBoy while speaking about the Baton Rouge rapper during a recent interview with Billboard. Discussing their collaboration, “Get My Life Right,” the legendary Bay Area native described YoungBoy as an “old soul.”

“He’s an old soul,” E-40 said to the outlet. “He’s been there before. That’s a deep, young man. I always liked him. Birdman hit me one day and was like, ‘Hey, YoungBoy wants you on one of his songs.’ He sent it to me, we connected, and I knocked out one for his album.”

Later in the interview, E-40 also spoke about his relationship with Nipsey Hussle. In doing so, he revealed that he was initially set to appear on the rapper’s Victory Lap track, “Grinding All My Life,” but he couldn’t get the verse submitted in time. “He didn’t tell me when he needed it back,” E-40 recalled. “Next thing you know, I was like, ‘Oh man. This one of them ones too.’ Sometimes I’ll say, ‘When you need it back?’ We didn’t even discuss it. He just sent it. Next thing you know, he put a ticket to the face. I was like, ‘Damn.’ But, man, I miss Nipsey. He was really a good dude. He always showed me respect. He really patterned his hustle after mine. I really miss him and I think he would have really made an impact in rap right now if he was still living.”
