LeBron James And Bronny James Make History By Sharing The Court For The First Time: Watch

LeBron James and his son, Bronny James, made NBA history on Sunday night by taking the court at the same time in the Los Angeles Lakers’ preseason game against the Phoenix Suns. During the second quarter of the matchup, Bronny checked into the game to join his father on the court. The day coincided with the celebration of his 20th birthday.

“It’s surreal,” Lakers Head Coach JJ Redick said before the game, as caught by ESPN. “It’ll be fun when they’re on the court together. I’m excited about it. I’m very honored that I get to be part of history.” He also promised that the moment would occur “in the flow of the game” and wouldn’t be “gimmicky.” The Lakers ended up dropping the game 118-114, as LeBron contributed 19 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds. Bronny chimed in with just 2 rebounds in his 13 minutes of action.

When the NBA shared the moment on social media, fans had mixed responses. Many celebrated the wholesome situation, such as one user on X (formerly Twitter) who wrote: “That’s a historic moment for both LeBron and Bronny! Seeing them share the court is a dream come true for many basketball fans. It’s not often you get to witness a father-son duo at such a high level of competition.” Others joked about Bronny being a nepotism hire for the Lakers. One annoyed fan wrote: “Wow so amazing this guy forced his team to waste a draft pick and a spot on their bench for his own kids who isn’t remotely a NBA caliber player just so he could add that little bit to his resume.”

Bronny James’ Worn Jersey Sells For Almost $40K At Auction

Bronny James and his father LeBron are the NBA’s first father-son teammate duo, making any memorabilia commemorating the former’s entry into the league a representation of history. Moreover, according to TMZ, Bronny’s first Summer League jersey (which he wore for a July 12 game against the Houston Rockets in Las Vegas) sold at an auction by Sotheby’s in mid-September for over $38,000. It now belongs to the “Lakers Shrine,” largely acknowledged among the world’s most lauded private Los Angeles Lakers collections. But who bought it? It’s David Kohler, the president and founder of SCP Auctions. He doesn’t have an auction of his own, but he also has worn and owned items from many legends like Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar… You name it.

During Bronny James’ July 12 game, he scored eight points in 27 minutes as his first taste of NBA action, although he hasn’t played a regular season game yet. The Lakers will open the regular season on October 22 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. “I’m just excited to go out there and learn and learn from the people playing in front of me,” Bronny had told reporters about his first games on the court. “And, if I get a chance to showcase my game, then I’m going to do that to the best of my ability.”

As for Kohler, he told TMZ that he wanted his hands on Bronny James’ jersey due to the historical factor we mentioned earlier. But otherwise, life moves on outside of the NBA, and we got some other updates regarding Bronny’s everyday happenings. Parker Whitfield recently confirmed that they’re dating thanks to a tender National Boyfriend Day post on social media.

Meanwhile, here’s what LeBron James himself said about his and his son’s dynamic on the court. “[He] cannot call me dad in the workplace,” he said on The Shop. “Once we leave out the private facility and the gates close, I could be dad again [and], in the car, if we ride together, at home I could be dad. We cannot be running down the court, and he’d be like, ‘Dad, push the ball up! Dad, I’m open! Dad, come on!’ He got to call me like ‘2-3’ or ‘Bron’ or, you know, ‘GOAT’ if he want to. One of the oddest and most speculative byproducts of the whole Kendrick Lamar versus Drake battle is everyone else that suddenly found themselves in the middle of it. We’re not talking about the other rap beef opponents such as Future and Rick Ross, though. Rather, we’re talking about the other celebrities that “picked a side” based on who they showed love to, where they went, and how these folks are interacting online. This is especially true for the Toronto superstar based on just how high-profile he is with his famous friends. For example, he unfollowed LeBron James after months of speculation that the NBA star is more Team Kendrick.

Still, even an IG unfollow – which is practically Drake’s way of making a press release and solidifying his real-life bonds – isn’t enough to confirm this. After all, LeBron James warmed up to his music just fine the other day. But Adin Ross isn’t taking any chances, cutting all associations with the former Cleveland Cavalier. However, he chose to start this process in a pretty odd way. The streamer is selling his Audemars Piguet watch (worth between $450K and $500K) because he owns the same one that LeBron does, and doesn’t want that link to stick around.

The 2024-2025 NBA season is approaching fast, and this year’s media day has already come and went. However, one team’s player is making some headlines for their press conference appearance. According to Billboard, New Orleans Pelicans star forward Zion Williamson answered various questions throughout his 13 minutes on the mic. However, one reporter toward the end really got on Zion’s nerves. At around the 12:30 mark, the man asks him a two-parter. One of them is basketball related in regard to his new teammate Dejounte Murray. The other one though, was completely unrelated to the Pelicans.

It was a pretty confrontational one, as the reporter inquired, “Why wasn’t Kendrick Lamar on your list for off-season workout playlists”? Previously, Zion Williamson stated that he had been bumping a lot of Nas, Larry June, Curren$y, and Biggie. This obviously pushed some sort of button for the reporter because he feels “like you have two good songs you could’ve been playing in the gym”. Zion wanted to know which songs he was referring to. That’s when the man replied, “‘Euphoria’ and ‘Not Like Us.’ Where was the greatness of the summer in your tracklist”?

For those unaware, the two had social media talking after the Memphis rapper thirsted for the NBA star, although they’ve always downplayed that there’s actually something going on there. However, the question came up yet again during the Milwaukee Bucks’ media day, and Lillard had a pretty diplomatic answer. While he didn’t go into much detail all things considered, this is definitely the most direct and elaborated response to this speculation so far. All we wonder is why this was so big for basketball reporters to cover…

“We know each other,” Damian Lillard said of GloRIlla. “She’s an artist, I’m an artist, but as far as anything else, it ain’t nothing going on. That’s what I can tell you.” Previously, she dodged questions about him from Shannon Sharpe, particularly a pointed one about her favorite basketball players. Even though this is ripe headline fodder, neither individual really took it seriously enough to create much of a conversation. Sure, they addressed it, but it seems like they don’t even understand what the big deal is.

However, when some beef and shade found its way into the group chat, GloRilla in particular chose to double down on this gossip. Damian Lillard’s ex wife Kay’La seemed to mock rumors about the two when authorities arrested Glo for a DUI in Atlanta. She then responded by rocking a custom “GloLillard” jersey and flaunting it online, which many took as a direct rebuttal to Kay’La and not just generally playing into the meme. So it’s all fun and games until the negativity rolls in.

Meanwhile, GloRilla is really looking forward to the release of her debut album Glorious, and this would follow an earlier 2024 mixtape. Maybe she could even get Damian Lillard – sorry, Dame D.O.L.L.A. – for a feature. Dikembe Mutombo Passes Away After Two-Year Battle With Brain Cancer

According to ESPN and multiple reports, NBA center and shot blocking extraordinaire Dikembe Mutombo has passed away at the age of 58. The 2015 Hall of Fame inductee played his collegiate ball at Georgetown before getting drafted 1991 by the Denver Nuggets. After playing for 18 years between them, the Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, and the Houston Rockets, he racked up quite a lot of accomplishments. Mutombo’s ability to alter shots led him to become a four-time Defensive Player of the Year. He was also selected to six All-Defensive teams, received three All-NBA selections, and was an eight-time All Star.

After retiring following the 2008-2009 season, he would still be heavily involved with the league. He became an ambassador, as well as playing an integral role in developing the Basketball Africa League. But besides just helping the NBA reach more and more people across the globe he was an incredible person and humanitarian. In 1997, Mutombo started his own foundation named after himself to aid his homeland, the Democratic Republic of Congo, in numerous ways. One of the most substantial efforts includes a 170-bed hospital in Kinshasa that’s taking care of people regardless of their financial situation.

Overall, Mutombo was and still is one of the most beloved figures in the sport. His contagious spirit and willingness to help others will never be forgotten. It was reported two years ago that he was being treated for a brain tumor in Atlanta. Sadly, it got worse as he passed away Monday from brain cancer. The NBA says his family was around him during his final moments. Comissioner of the league, Adam Silver, expressed his love and adoration for Mutombo, praising him for his efforts to spreading the impact of the NBA around the world. In fact, in early June, The Boy shared himself getting some work in with some of his boys after the end of the Kendrick Lamar beef.

That post captioned “Members.” perhaps seemed to be foreshadowing the now tournament that seems to have just gotten underway. According to a repost from 2Cool2Blog, one of his cameramen gave the rapper’s fans a sneak peek of everyone warming up, including the MC himself. Angel Reese Addresses The Narrative That She Only Rebounds Her Own Misses

Angel Reese came into the WNBA as an established college basketball superstar. Overall, she was thrust into a rivalry with none other than Caitlin Clark. Clark struggled during her first few outings in the league, while Angel thrived thanks to her rebounding. Early in the season, it was believed that Reese was the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year. However, in recent weeks, CC has completely taken over, while Reese has continued to be a rebounding machine.

Unfortunately, Reese has been wrapped up in a destructive narrative about her game. Objectively speaking, her shooting percentages at the rim are atrocious for someone of her size. More often than not, she gets more rebounds than she does points. This has subsequently led to some people claiming that all of her rebounds are from her own misses. While this is not literally the case, it is still a narrative that has people questioning whether or not Reese has a strong enough offensive bag.

This led to an interesting answer in which she stood up for herself and her abilities. “A lot of people think it’s because I get my own rebounds, but statistically, it’s not,” Reese stated. “A lot of people think it’s because I’m the tallest on the court, when I’m not the tallest on the court.” Reese is clearly not here for any of the slander, and you have to appreciate that.
