Asher Roth Enlists Homeboy Sandman, Heather Grey & lojii For New Single “Heaven”: Stream

Former “frat rapper” Asher Roth has grown a lot since his “I Love College” days, and if you’re just finding that out, you’re in luck. Moreover, he recently came through with an impressive set of flows on the Heather Grey-produced “Heaven,” which is a chill, soft key-led boom-bap beat that harkens back to cold and intimate East Coast nights in city streets. Not only that, but the Philadelphia native also enlisted similarly skilled lyricists in Homeboy Sandman and lojii, who come through with mindful and measured flows and lyrical acrobatics. This follows Roth’s previous work, such as the single “Dimma (Last Chance U).”

However, it’s very much a culture shock for folks who haven’t heard of Asher Roth in a long time, but it’s still time for this part of the narrative to become less crucial to the discussion of cuts like “Heaven.” Lyrically, this cut covers a lot of everyday struggles, slow but steady career-building, and trying to find one’s way to “heaven” despite the obstacles in one’s way. In addition, there are a lot of creative sample chops and variations throughout the beat that keep its freshness and engagement pretty afloat. Sure, it’s not a revolutionary sound or focus, but it’s done with the same sincerity and chilled demeanor that made cuts like “All Add Up” or on H.S.’ “$.”

Asher Roth Net Worth 2024: Updated Wealth Of The Rapper

Meet Asher Roth, a man who leapt into the hip-hop universe with a frat-boy anthem. Yet, he’s remained a quiet maverick in the industry. Born and raised in the quaint town of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, young Asher’s first taste of rhymes came through his love for classic rock and bedtime stories. It’s an intriguing blend, indeed. He would go on to elevate his craft, becoming more than a one-hit wonder. And speaking of numbers that pique interest, Asher Roth’s net worth clocks in at a cool $2 million as of 2024, according to Allfamousbirthday.

The name “Asher Roth” might forever be entangled with “I Love College,” his breakout single that became an anthem for dorm rooms and house parties nationwide. But Asher’s discography has more depth than the shallow waters of party anthems. Albums like RetroHash and Flowers On the Weekend paint the portrait of a dynamic lyricist unafraid to explore the edges of his art form.

A Private Man Behind Public Rhymes

When the curtain falls and the beat rests, who is Asher Roth? He’s not one to parade his personal life on social media. Instead, Asher has cultivated a quiet persona that juxtaposes his on-stage energy. Little is known about his romantic liaisons or family, making him an enigmatic figure in an industry where oversharing is often the norm.

Further, Roth’s knack for business is as nuanced as his rap verses. The man has dabbled in various ventures outside the realm of music, including his foray into podcasting with The Asher Roth Show. Additionally, Roth has a line of merchandise that does more than promote his music. It advocates for mental health awareness.

Asher Roth remains an enigmatic figure in the hip-hop landscape, defying labels and transcending the limitations of a genre that often seeks to pigeonhole its artists. With a career that has continued to evolve, Asher Roth is a testament to the power of reinvention. And in a world fixated on the next big thing, Roth has proven that sometimes, it’s not about capturing the moment but creating one.

Asher Roth Used To Babysit Justin Bieber, Lived In Same Building As Scooter Braun

When Justin Bieber first got scouted by music executive Scooter Braun, he moved down from Canada to Atlanta with his mom. As his mom worked, the then 13-year-old was dropped off at Asher Roth’s house. While babysitting him, the rapper would teach the rising star skills that would become valuable in his musical career. Roth lived in the same building as Braun, who ultimately took the two emerging artists under his wings, thus building their careers today.

At the time that Roth started babysitting the “Sorry” singer, he was working on The Greenhouse Effect. The rapper noted in a 2010 interview with VladTV how Bieber’s mom was worried, supposedly based on the mixtape’s content. However, little Bieber remained with the upcoming artist and learned “everything he knows” from him, according to Roth. The “I Love College” rapper reflected on young Biebs influence on the youth, noting how “at the end of the day, the kids is really what it’s all about.”

Roth And Bieber Were Taken In By Braun

In a recent interview with Idea Generation, Braun reflected on that time period in his career. He recounts the balancing act of managing young artists early on, “I had this kid living in a townhouse illegally, and this guy living in like this broken down house two minutes away from that, and Asher was babysitting Justin sometimes, and like, it was wild back those days. But I fully believed in these guys, and I risked everything.” Ultimately, Braun’s recruitment of both Bieber and Roth resulted in their successful careers today.

Both artists remain signed to Braun’s label, School Boy. Roth released a collaboration album last year with Heather Grey titled Why’s It So Grey Out?, which includes features from Kota the Friend, Lord Apex, and Like. Bieber, on the other hand, recently joined talents with Don Toliver for their song “Private Landing.” Additionally, Biebs made a big win this year by selling his music catalog to Hipgnosis Songs Capital for $200 million. Needless to say, that’s a big jump from his early days of being babysat in Atlanta by Roth. For more news on hip-hop and pop culture, be sure to check out HNHH.
