Angel Reese has packed a lifetime of bucket list items into six weeks. The former LSU star finished her storied collegiate basketball career, declared for the WNBA Draft in Vogue, went No. 7 overall to the Chicago Sky, attended the 2024 Met Gala, received support from Latto at her WNBA debut on May 15, and contributed to Chicago’s first win of the season on May 18. Somehow, Reese outdid herself yet again on Sunday night, May 19.

Reese posted a TikTok with Megan Thee Stallion, soundtracked by Meg’s “Girls In The Hood,” as Hot Girl Meg’s Hot Girl Summer Tour rolled through Chicago’s United Center. As relayed by Chicago Tribune reporter Julia Poe on X (formerly Twitter), Reese had stated at WNBA media day that the top celebrities she’d like to meet were Michael Jordan and Megan Thee Stallion. It took Reese less than a month to check one off the list.

As if meeting Meg and making a TikTok weren’t enough, GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion welcomed Reese and her Chicago Sky teammates to the stage during the concert. Meg twerked on Reese, which feels like some sort of coronation, according to several fan-taken videos circulating on X.

The Hot Girl Summer Tour is due next at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, May 21, and here’s to hoping she makes a habit out of bringing out WNBA teams at her remaining shows.

Angel Reese Shushes Critics After Graduating From LSU: “Thought Somebody Without A College Degree Said Sum”

Angel Reese is seemingly going to be followed by critics for the rest of her life. Ever since transferring from the University of Maryland to head to Louisiana State, she has had to constantly deal with scrutiny. Her competitive fire on and off the hardwood has led her to be viewed as a controversial figure. Unfortunately, most of hate she has gotten over the last two years or so has pretty much been unearned. However, when you join a major program, more eyes and ears are on you at all times. Of course, the main headline that swirled around the power forward was her alleged low GPA. What was really surprising throughout all of that was that Flau’jae Johnson’s (a now former teammate) parents were feuding with Angel’s parents about this. However, with Angel Reese graduating from LSU, she can put a damper on them and everyone else who had something to say.

According to The Shade Room, the number seven overall draft pick of the Chicago Sky posted some pictures of her in her “Bayou Barbie” graduation cap and black suit just yesterday. Angel graduated in four years with a major in interdisciplinary studies and minors in communication studies, leadership development and psychology. The caption for the post was fitting, addressing all of the doubters and fools who believed the supposed fake news. “So now what? what was said? oh okay that’s what i thought. I graduated from THE LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY IN 4 YEARS ON TIME💋 i thought somebody without a college degree said sum.😘

Angel Reese Silences Her GPA Hounders

Supporters came in droves to congratulate Angel across all of her social media accounts. “oh cause who not pretty & smart? i see a BIG GRAD that’s TOP PRIORITY 🤭😘” one user writes. “OH OKAYYY! Congratulations!🎉 🎓Beauty, brains, & talent!🔥” another adds. We will never know the true reason why Angel Reese missed time, but that information honestly does not need to come out. Congratulations to the grad!

What are your thoughts on Angel Reese graduating from Louisiana State University? How do you feel about her responding to the haters in her celebration post? Latto Brought Her Big, Big Energy Courtside To Support Angel Reese In Her WNBA Debut

Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark, Cameron Brink, and Kamilla Cardoso headline a potentially trajectory-altering rookie class for the WNBA, and the 2024 season tipped off this week. Reese’s debut with the Chicago Sky came against the Dallas Wings in Arlington, Texas on Wednesday night, May 15, and her magnetism was already apparent.

Latto sat courtside. When asked what brought her to the Sky and Wings’ season-opener, Latto plainly stated, “Angel Reese.” The multi-platinum rapper was also asked for her thoughts on the unprecedented attention surrounding the WNBA. “It’s the year of the woman, it’s the year of the female, it’s the year of the girl,” Latto said. “I’m here for the girl power, period. Let’s go, Angel Reese.”

Latto posted part of the clip on X (formerly Twitter), and Reese reposted it along with the message, “DUHHH!! THE BIGGEST [lips emoji]”

Roughly one year ago, Reese was fresh off capturing the first NCAA Division I basketball national championship in LSU history when she appeared in the video for Latto and Cardi B’s “Put It On Da Floor Again.” Reese also co-starred alongside Flau’jae Johnson, her now-former LSU teammate, in NLE Choppa’s “Champions” video.

Last month, Chicago drafted Reese at No. 7 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The 22-year-old star forward posted 12 points, eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal in her W debut, a 87-79 loss to Dallas. The Sky will remain in Dallas to play the Wings again on Saturday, May 18.

Latto Pulled Up To Angel Reese’s WNBA Debut In Style

Latto’s presence at Angel Reese’s WNBA debut was not just a show of support but also a recognition of the impact of the league’s rookie class. The rapper, who had made a point to be in the city, was there to witness the former LSU Tigers women’s basketball player Angel Reese’s debut at Arlington, Texas’ College Park Center. This WNBA season, with its impressive rookie class led by players like Angel Reese, is already making a significant mark on the league. Combined with the stars already present, the WNBA is on track for exponential growth this summer. Latto’s words, ‘I had to pull up and show love to the ladies on their big night,’ echoed the audience’s excitement for the league’s future.

Latto gave her perspective on the current WNBA buzz after stating that she had come to see Angel Reese in action. Latto says it’s time for the women to take center stage. She said of the occasion, “It’s the year of the woman, it’s the year of the female, it’s the year of the girl,” she said during a courtside interview. “I’m here for the girl power period. Let’s go Angel Reese.” It is amazing to see the support Angle Reese is getting. All in all, the future is looking bright.

Latto Witnesses Angel Reese’s WNBA Debut

Latto said of Angel Reese’s debut, “I love Texas, but I did want to be at her first game. You know everybody going to come later, but we did it first.” After the game, Latto and Angel Reese took pics before the rapper left for her next destination. “I came here strictly for Angel Reese, I’m out,” she said before boarding the plane. It was a nice show of support from Latto and an encouraging first game for Reese.

Like Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese started off slow. She got her first points in the second quarter with some free throws after struggling a bit in the first. After the first half, Reese scored her first official field goal and finished the game with a solid stat line of 12 points and 8 rebounds, chipping in a steal. Overall, Latto is not going to be the last big name to show up in the WNBA games this season.

We have all-star basketball talent, millions of loyal fans around the world, and we are one of the most viewed sports programs of the summer on CBS.”

In a statement, Ice Cube spoke about the transition. “Basing our teams in home cities allows BIG3 to engage local communities and fanbases,” he said. “Bringing in ownership groups each with their own sports expertise, business, and capabilities beginning in 2025 will allow BIG3 to grow exponentially. I know that DCB Sports will do right by the people of Los Angeles and together, we’ll continue to change the game.”

Angel Reese Stuns At The Met Gala: “I’ve Always Dreamed Of This Moment”

Angel Reese, NCAA champion and the 7th overall pick in the WNBA draft participated in her first Met Gala last night. The LSU star made one of her dreams come true by attending the prestigious fashion gathering that features a who’s who of A-list celebrities. Consensus is the newest member of the Chicago Sky’s outfit, and it was, of course, a slam dunk. Reese also celebrated her 22nd birthday as she strutted the red carpet in her 16Arlington by Marco Capaldo gown. Angel’s outfit was a glittery mint-green dress with a lot of detail and was sure to turn heads at the function.

Reese, also known as the “Bayou Barbie,” has been gaining recognition in the fashion world through her various sponsorships and stylish personality. The forward, who the Chicago Sky selected with the seventh pick in the WNBA draft in April, made an impressive debut at the Met Gala with her incredible dress. The shimmering black and silver gown was a sight to behold. The WNBA has plenty of stars about to debut in the league, and it’s a big deal that Angel Reese is getting this type of recognition off the court at such a prestigious and popular event.

Angel Reese’s Met Gala Look

Angel Reese tweeted before the big event, “Training camp in the morning, Met Gala at night, preseason game tomorrow. Just another day in the life of Angel Reese.” The rising star is in the middle of preparing for the WNBA season. The Chicago Sky played their first preseason game last Friday against the Minnesota Lynx. Reese had 13 points on 2-of-8 shooting with nine rebounds in 24 minutes. Reese looked comfortable on a WNBA court, and Chicago Sky fans are excited about her and her fellow rookie South Carolina’s Kamilla Cardoso.

Unfortunately, Cardoso suffered a shoulder injury that will keep her out for several weeks. It’s an unfortunate development, but hopefully, her recovery goes well, and we will get to see her and Angel Reese on the court together. All in all, Angel Reese is looking to become a superstar on and off the court, and we are here for it.

Angel Reese Refuses To Pick Sides In Drake Vs Kendrick Lamar Battle

Angel Reese is a competitor. She knows what it takes to win, and she doesn’t have a problem getting in people’s faces to prove it. Reese is famous for speaking her mind, on and off the court, but she decided to draw the line during a recent Q&A with the Chicago Sky. The basketball team was asked whether they preferred Drake or Kendrick Lamar in the ongoing rap battle, but Reese was one of the few who dodged the question. Instead of picking a side, the WNBA stalwart decided to play it safe.

The majority of the Chicago Sky team answered the prompt, and the majority of them picked Drake. It’s fitting that the guy who made the “Best I Ever Had” music video has the support of the WNBA. Reese, on the other hand, opted for a more diplomatic approach. She made it clear that she doesn’t want to cause any additional strife between the rappers.

Even more importantly, though, she didn’t want the headache of having to deal with various news outlets hyping up her answer. “I’m not getting in this controversy because I’ll be on Twitter, The Shade Room, all that,” Reese explained. “Nope!”

Angel Reese Wants To Avoid The Controversy

This isn’t the first time Reese has avoided the “Drake or Kendrick” question. The athlete was asked to pick during the red carpet for the WNBA Draft, but she told Complex she didn’t want any part of it. “I don’t want to get in the mix,” she said. “I’m out the mix!”

Angel Reese has publicly spoken about Drake in the past. During a 2023 appearance on The Breakfast Club, the athlete revealed that both Future and the Toronto rapper slid into her DMs after she won the NCAA Championship. “They just congratulated me,” she noted. “It’s all congratulations.” Nevertheless, Charlamagne tha God told Reese to stay away from both rappers given their reputations.”You said two that you need to stay far away from,” he advised.

It looks to be all love between Reese and Drake, however. The former appeared on the cover of Teen Vogue in 2023, and she quoted a lyric from Drake’s “Jimmy Cooks” while promoting it on Instagram. “Don’t tell me that you a model if you ain’t been in Vogue or whatever Drake said,” she wrote in the caption.

Angel Reese Was Asked To Choose Between Drake And Kendrick Lamar, And She Handled It Perfectly

Kendrick Lamar and Drake have a longstanding beef, as chronicled by Uproxx’s Aaron Williams, and it’s sizzling this week. On Tuesday, April 30, Lamar dropped “Euphoria,” the latest in a string of diss tracks between Drake, Lamar, J. Cole, and more that began with Lamar’s verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.” The six-minute sprint of a song packs in myriad Drake disses, and everyone from Joel Embiid to Rick Ross is chiming in.

Angel Reese is not interested in entering the fray. The Chicago Sky posted a video on Wednesday, May 1, showing the WNBA team’s players answering a loaded question: “Drake or Kendrick?” Reese’s teammates each chose a side — the results were lopsided in Drake’s favor — but Reese knew better. “I’m not getting in this controversy because I’ll be on Twitter, The Shade Room, all that,” Reese said. “Nope!”

Last month, Reese was drafted seventh overall by Chicago after a decorated collegiate career at LSU, where she and the Tigers won the national championship in 2023. Anyway, Reese’s favorite rapper might be her former LSU teammate, Flau’jae Johnson. The two co-starred in NLE Choppa’s “Champions” video last year, and Reese was also featured in the video for Latto and Cardi B’s “Put It On Da Floor Again.”
