Tyler Perry to Lead Film on Only All-Black, All-Female Battalion in WWII for Netflix

Tyler Perry’s next Netflix film will be Six Triple Eight, a story about the 6888th battalion, the only all-black, all-female battalion in the World War II effort.

The film will be directed, produced and written by Perry and is based on an article by Kevin M. Hymel published in WWII History Magazine by Sovereign Media.

The film’s synopsis reads:

Six Triple Eight tells the inspiring true story of the incredible and brave women of the only all-black, all-female World War 2 Battalion. These 855 women joined the war effort with little knowledge of what exactly they would be doing, but were quickly given the mission of a lifetime: sort through and fix the three-year backlog of undelivered mail. A herculean task, that most thought to be impossible, the women not only succeeded but did it in half the time they were given. Facing discrimination, unfamiliar land, and a war-torn country, they persevered and sorted over 17 million pieces of mail, reconnecting American soldiers with their families and loved ones back home. The motto that kept them going each day was one they created themselves: “No Mail, Low Morale.” The women of the 6888 weren’t just delivering mail, they were delivering hope.

The 6888th Postal Directory Battalion’s narrative has been kept out of history books and out of the public spotlight until today, nearly 75 years later. On March 14, 2022, President Joe Biden signed legislation granting women the Congressional Gold Medal, Congress’ highest accolade.

Six Triple Eight will be Tyler Perry’s fourth Netflix feature, following A Fall From Grace, A Madea Homecoming, which debuted in the top ten in 43 countries, and A Jazzman’s Blues, which debuted in the top ten in 55. He also appeared in Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up, which is one of Netflix’s top ten most popular films.

Lil Nas X Is All Smiles In A Japanese Porn Shop And Is Otherwise Having A Blast On His Japan Vacation

Lil Nas X had a big year, most notably with his Long Live Montero tour. Now, as 2022 winds down, the rapper is enjoying some much-deserved leisure time with a visit to Japan, as he has been chronicling on social media over the past week or so. His latest dispatch is especially noteworthy and particularly NSFW.

On Twitter yesterday (December 14), Nas shared a three-image gallery from his trip, a photo set that leads off with the rapper smiling as he holds a couple of pornographic videos and is surrounded by similarly saucy materials, seemingly in a store that specializes in those sorts of things.

That’s his latest post, but it’s not his only one. One in particular that generated some attention (with about 28 million views as of this post) is a TikTok video in which he stands in a busy part of Japan and goes unnoticed by passersby. The video is captioned, “me realizing i’m not famous in japan,” and in it, Nas mouths along to a sound (originally from the 2022 movie Pearl) in which an exasperated person screams, “No, I’m a star! Please, I’m a star!”

Elsewhere, he surprised some on-the-street Twitch streamers in the country by unexpectedly popping up and making an appearance in their broadcast.

Check out some more posts from Nas’ Japan trip below.

Offset Rings In 31st Birthday Alongside Cardi B In Jamaica

Offset is officially 31 years old today (December 14). The rapper isn’t holding back in his celebrations this year.

According to TMZ, the Georgia native enjoyed some fun festivities in commemoration of another year.

Making the trip to Jamaica, the Migos member was spotted with his wifey Cardi B, his sister-in-law Hennessy and a number of family and friends.

In video footage, Offset and crew are seen taking shots, dancing the night away and dining at the Lobster Dave Seafood Restaurant and Sports Bar in Ocho Rios.

It’s certainly nice to see the Migos member smiling and enjoying himself again. In November, he tragically lost his cousin and fellow Migos member, Takeoff. The “Casper” rapper was shot and killed stemming from an altercation at a private event in Houston.

Offset took to Twitter last week, sharing his difficulties in grieving his loss. “In a dark place,” he wrote.

The late Migos member’s first posthumous verse subsequently arrived only a month after his passing. Appearing alongside A$AP Rocky, he contributes to Metro Boomin’s sophomore album, HEROES & VILLAINS with some entertaining alphabet wordplay.

On “Feel The Fiyaaaah,” Take shows off his charisma while adhering to an alphabet rhyme scheme throughout his verse. “Like the letter after A / I bought my b*tch a new C / Then I took her to the D,” he raps, before running through the rest of the alphabet.

Further proving that he was a beloved member of the hip-hop community, 21 Savage also recently reflected on how much he misses the “Casper” rapper.

This came after performing alongside his Her Loss collaborator, Drake, in Atlanta earlier this month. Despite the success of the performance, the world was witness to Savage reflecting on missing his brothers.

“Didn’t even feel right without thug and gunna tonight,” he tweeted in reference to his friends who are currently in jail.

“LL Takeoff And Keed,” he continued.

In memory of Takeoff, leave a comment down below with your favorite song from the most underrated Migos member. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates.

Here’s A Timeline Of Kendrick Lamar’s Best Moments Of 2022

Kendrick Lamar gave us a lot to celebrate in 2022. Namely his long-anticipated first album in five years, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. The follow-up to the Pulitzer prize-winning Damn sees Kendrick once again placing the microscope firmly on himself as arguably the best rapper on the planet, waxing on subjects that other MCs wouldn’t touch. But besides putting out another brilliant album, it’s everything that surrounded that release that really made Kendrick Lamar stand out in 2022. Here are his best moments of the year:

Super Bowl Halftime show

Kendrick appeared with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent in February. Taking place at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, Kendrick let his hometown crowd know that he was back. The performance even netted three Emmy Awards.

“The Heart Part 5” video

Before Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers dropped, Lamar shared the video for what many thought would be the album’s first single. Turns out it was a one-off cut with an incredible video that was later tacked on as a bonus single on the streaming version of the record. The clip saw Kendrick using deep fake technology to morph into a variety of famous faces from OJ Simpson to Kobe Bryant, and Nipsey Hussle.

Inspiring Fans (And Security Guards) On The Big Steppers Tour

Shortly after Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers came out in May, Kendrick set off on a glorious tour. Portraying himself on stage as a Christ-like figure with a crown of thorns, his worldwide performances were highlighted by delivering an inspiring message to a young boy, using his Glastonbury platform to champion women’s rights, and making a security guard cry with his lyrics. The latter went extremely viral, and for good reason.

Saturday Night Live Performance

Kendrick’s third stint on SNL was another one for the ages. He performed a medley of “Rich Spirit” and “N95” and then brought out Sampha for “Father Time.” It was an incredible artistic display from the rapper, no doubt.

A Cherry On Top With Six Grammy Nominations

Kendrick led all rappers at the 2023 Grammy Awards with six total nominations and bringing his grand total to 47. Among this year’s awards, he’ll be up for Album Of The Year and Song Of The Year. It’s indeed the ultimate cherry on top for an illustrious 2022 for Kendrick, that’ll surely lead to a big 2023.

Kanye West Facing Eviction in Calabasas

kanye

According to new legal documents, Kanye West may be facing eviction from his home in Calabasas. This past October, Adidas, Balenciaga, Chase Bank, Gap, Vogue, and talent agency CAA terminated their business with Kanye West after he made a series of antisemitic statements.

From The Blast

According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, a company named ‘CT Calabasas’ claims the ‘Yeezy Apparel’ company is behind by at least two months of rent. The legal case is what’s called an “unlawful detainer” of their property, and they want him out in 72 hours unless it’s paid in full.

Kanye’s company is being accused of owing $63,254 in back rent.

In the filing, the company claims it signed a deal with Kanye’s brand way back in 2015 when it was still called ‘West Brands Fashion.’ But, in 2016 they say Yeezy Apparel merged with Kanyes’ other company “thereby succeeding West Brand’s interest in the lease. At the time, Yeezy agreed to pay $31,477.40 a month for the office space. At this point, the landlord claims it hasn’t been paid for November or December and wants him out!

“Within three days after service of this notice on you, you must pay the amount of said rent in full or quit said premises and deliver up possession of the same to the authorized agent for your landlord,” the eviction notice reads.

It adds, “If you fail to pay or quit, legal proceedings will be instituted against you for possession of the premises, forfeiture of the agreement, and for monetary damages as may be allowed by law. You are further notified that by this Notice the Landlord elects to and does hereby declare a forfeiture of said Lease if said rent is not paid in full within three (3) days.”

Do you think Ye’s comments caused his current chaos?
