Pusha T Labels Biggie’s “Life After Death” The “Best Double Album Ever”

Pusha T says that The Notorious B.I.G.’s 1997 album, Life After Death, is the “best double album ever.” He revealed his thoughts on the project during a trailer for Warner Music Group’s new visual podcast series Iconic Records. The first season of the podcast will dive into Biggie’s classic final album.

“[Life After Death] is by far the best double album ever created — ever,” Pusha T says via a Zoom call. He wasn’t alone in his praise of the album. Rick Ross also noted: “He had the attention of not just the rap game, but the entire world! … There will never be another B.I.G.” Iconic Records will premiere on the WMX Hip-Hop channel on The Roku Channel on April 29 through an exclusivity deal. It will later be available to stream elsewhere starting on May 1.

The Iconic Records trailer isn’t the first time that Pusha has praised the late Biggie Smalls. Writing an op-ed for Rolling Stone in 2015, he labeled Biggie the greatest to ever do it. “I believe the Notorious B.I.G. was the greatest rapper who’s ever lived,” he wrote at the time. “His personality was all confidence. This guy’s 300-plus pounds with a fucking lazy eye — and what woman did not love Biggie Smalls? You have to be damn near magical to do that.”

Iconic Records‘ analysis of Life After Death comes after the 25th anniversary of the classic album’s release. Speaking in a statement for the podcast, Angie Martinez remarked that it is a “masterpiece.” “It’s an honor to host the first-ever season of Iconic Records,” Martinez said. “Biggie was, and still is, one of the most important artists of our lifetime and Life After Death is a masterpiece! To collaborate with WMX on this series has been an incredible experience. It’s especially meaningful as we also pay homage to 50 years of hip hop and how it’s changed the course of history.”

Kevin Gates Releases New Single “Do It Again”

While Kevin Gates might make headlines for his unusual claims (i.e. starting a car battery with his bare hands), it’s hard to deny how good his music is. The rapper continues to tease the deluxe edition of Khaza, which he announced last year. There hasn’t been a release date set. Still, he’s continued to keep a string of releases on deck to feed his loyal and dedicated fanbase.

This week, the rapper returned with his latest single, “Do It Again.” Release via YouTube, the rapper’s latest offering finds his powerful presence backed by equally dominant production as he brings fans through a journey of his come-up. Kevin Gates takes it back to Louisiana Ave., reflecting on loyalty and trust in the streets and his personal relationship. It’s another record that showcases the rapper’s consistency that he’s carried through his decade-plus career.

Kevin Gates Unleashes “Do It Again”

Since the beginning of 2023, Kevin Gates has kept his foot on the gas with a number of excellent singles. In February, he dropped off “Breakfast,” a record that seemingly confirmed his reconciliation with Dreka Gates. She also co-stars in the music video. Then, he dropped off records like “Pages” and “Trying To Forgive.” He also came through with some excellent collabs. He teamed up with T.I. on their long-awaited joint effort, “Active.” Most recently, he joined forces with NLE Choppa on “HABITS,” off of Cottonwood.

Kevin Gates released Khaza in 2022, marking his first full-length studio album since 2019’s I’m Him. However, between that three-year gap, he delivered shared a slew of music including Only The Generals Pt. II. Hopefully, it won’t be long until Gates comes through with either the deluxe edition of his 2022 or a brand new project altogether. Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns earned their first playoff win on Tuesday. The Suns took care of the Los Angeles Clippers 123-109. However, the game was more than a win for the Suns and Paul. The legendary point guard got his first win while NBA official Scott Foster was calling his game. Paul had previously been 0-14 when Foster officiated one of his playoff games. Now Paul can celebrate finally earning a victory while the longtime official was on the clock.

Paul’s record with Foster has been a huge topic on social media. Every time the official announcements are made for a Paul playoff game, everyone searches for Foster’s name. However, it is unknown if there is real beef between the two. The longtime losing streak could just be a part of a strange coincidence. Chris Paul Defeats His Playoff Nemesis

After the game, Paul claimed that he didn’t even realize the win with Foster on the court. However, something tells me that may not have been the entire truth. Paul finished the game with 16 points and 8 assists, with nearly 38 minutes of action. Now that Paul has the ugly history with Foster behind him, maybe a new streak begins. It has yet to be revealed who will be officiating Game 3 of the Clippers-Suns. But it would add to the drama seeing Foster’s name on that officiating lineup card. A move that could easily be done by a league looking to create drama.

Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Mambacita” Officially Unveiled

Perhaps one of the greatest Kobe Bryant retros of the last few years has been the Nike Kobe 4 Protro. Overall, this is a shoe that has received a whole bunch of dope colorways. However, following Kobe’s death in 2020, Nike stopped making the shoe. Eventually, Nike lost the Kobe deal entirely after Vanessa Bryant was unhappy with how they treated sneakerheads. Although, the two eventually came to a compromise which ultimately brought Nike back on board the Kobe Bryant brand.

Since then, Nike has been figuring out which shoes to drop. Of course, the brand wants to be sensitive to Kobe and his legacy. Additionally, they also want to pay tribute to Gianna Bryant, who passed away alongside her father and seven others. This has led to some teasers for a “Mambacita” colorway of the Nike Kobe 4 Protro. It is a shoe that many fans have been waiting for. Now, with the official images revealed below, it is clear that this sneaker is a reality that will be dropping soon.

Immediately upon looking at the shoe, you can tell that this does a great job of honoring Kobe and Gigi’s legacy. Firstly, the sneaker is covered with a white upper. Secondly, the midsole, Nike swoosh, and laces are all black. From there, were get a black-and-white woven aesthetic towards the back. Furthermore, this is packed up by the word “Gigi” on the back heel. Even her gold number 2 appears underneath, which further cements this sneaker as a tribute. When you put all of these elements together, you get a truly gorgeous new Nike Kobe 4 Protro.

Marques Houston Slammed For Dating Comments

Marques Houston may be better known for his dating exploitations than his storied musical career. In 2019, Houston became engaged to Miya Dickey, and the couple was married in August 2020. However, Dickey was just 18 when the couple met, a full 19 years younger than Houston. The relationship sparked a wave of backlash against the couple. It is still a much-talked-about issue, with Houston speaking out about it as recently as earlier this month.

However, Houston is now in the news for a different reason concerning his dating life. Speaking with Page Six, Houston said that women his own age (41) came with too much “baggage.” Furthermore, the father of one went on to say, “A red flag to me [was] always with a woman that had a kid,” he said. “Nothing against single women, but single mothers with children are a red flag for me.” Already in a hole, Houston kept on digging, saying, “So that was always my red flag… and a woman with an attitude. I don’t like women with funky attitudes.”

Backlash Against Houston Swift and Fierce

Safe to say, the internet didn’t love Houston’s comments. The responses broke down into two specific camps. First, there were the people who objected to Houston calling single mothers a “red flag” when he is best known for dating an 18-year-old. There were plenty of tweets that simply called Houston a “predator” in a similar vein. Other people pointed to the allegations that prior to being taken in by Houston’s friend Chris Strokes, Miya Dickey was a runaway teen. If these allegations are true, Dickey was just three years removed from being a missing person when she met Houston. Detractors also pointed to a recent TMZ clip where Houston says his wife “keeps him young and fresh.”

Meanwhile, other replies largely questioned why people give Houston the opportunity to defend himself and give public statements like this. One tweet simply read “Can we stop asking Marques Houston questions?” Defending his marriage to a 19-year-old is really the only topic of conversation for Houston in recent media appearances. This is why there is an understandable objection to giving him a platform, as he primarily uses what he is given to defend his marriage. However, Houston does have his supporters. One tweet argues that Houston “made a 19-year-old an honest woman through the institution of marriage”. Regardless, Marques Houston is once again in the news for marrying a 19-year-old. However, this time it comes with the added layer of bashing women his own age.

Devin Booker Reacts To Strange Kevin Durant Question: Video

Devin Booker led the way for a Phoenix Suns victory on Tuesday night. The Suns evened up the series with the Clippers with a 123-109 win. Now the team will travel to Los Angeles looking to bring a series lead back to Phoenix. Booker and his teammates spoke with the media after last night’s win. However, Booker probably didn’t expect to hear one question that was asked of him. The question asked was, did the Suns need to prove they could win with Kevin Durant in the playoffs?

Obviously, Durant is one of the best players of his generation. So asking if the team needed to prove they could win with him may sound a little crazy. Booker quickly answered the question. A question that has never even crossed his mind. “That’s a 2-time champ. A 2-time Finals MVP. He’s proven enough. We didn’t lose any games with each other in the regular season & we just dropped Game 1.” In the video, Booker shares a hilarious reaction after hearing the question. Check the video out below.

Devin Booker Laughs Off Durant Question

Of course, the question was seeking a bizarre answer. However, Booker gave the right answer on the subject. Durant is a two-time champion, along with a 2-time Finals MVP. If the Suns couldn’t make his addition work, then something would be terribly wrong. Oh yeah, as Booker said, the team went undefeated with Durant in the lineup during the regular season. Game 1 of the series with the Clippers was the team’s first loss with Durant. That being the first loss is a pretty impressive statistic, in my mind.

The Suns don’t look worried about getting over the playoff “hump.” The question of winning Durant is just something the team has to deal with. But Booker and Paul know exactly how important Durant is to this team. The Suns will be back in action on Thursday against the Clippers. Tyler, The Creator Spends Jaw-Dropping Amount Of Luxe Bel-Air Mansion

Tyler, The Creator, fresh off of the release of Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale, copped an incredibly impressive home in the opulent area of Bel-Air. According to Dirt.com, The Odd Future frontman just dropped a cool $13M on a luxurious home in Bel-Air – less than $2M below the asking price. The new home sits on an acre of land with 5,000 square feet of living space. The Bel-Air property includes six bathrooms and five bedrooms. Additionally, there are high-ceilings, steel-case windows, and Brazilian wood floors, topped with a white oak finish.

The “Dogtooth” rapper is undoubtedly living luxuriously in his new set-up, especially with incredible views of the ocean across the three levels. Additionally, the home boasts amenities including a movie theater and a set-up cigar lounge. Outside, you’ll find an extravagant and private set-up made for entertainment with both a saltwater pool and a dry sauna. Additionally, there’s a fire pit, a bar, and a barbecue set-up, as well as a four-car garage. It truly is a gorgeous property in the luxe neighborhood.

Tyler, The Creator’s New Home 

The new home was initially constructed in the 1970s, though it was completely rebuilt in 2022. Tyler, The Creator previously owned another spot in the same neighborhood of Bel Air, Los Angeles. He later sold to two New York-based designers last year. He previously paid nearly $8M for the spot. Unfortunately, sold it for $1M less than the asking price of $7M. The home was built in 1965 and went through several renovations before Tyler scooped it up. 

The L.A. based artist returned to the fold with the extended edition of Call Me If You Get Lost. This marked the first album to reach #1 on the Billboard Hip-Hop & R&B Charts on three separate years. The expanded edition includes new collabs alongside Vince Staples, A$AP Rocky, and YG with production from Madlib, Kanye, and more. The re-release hit #3 on the Billboard 200 with 68K units. Kylie Jenner On Having More Kids: “Whatever Happens Is Meant To Happen”

Kylie Jenner says that she’s not necessarily planning on having more children, but isn’t against the idea either. The 25-year-old mother of two discussed her plans for the future during a new interview for a Hommegirls cover story published on Tuesday.

When asked what she’s most proud of, Jenner replied: “My kids. Experiencing pregnancy and motherhood.” And as for whether she’ll have any more, she answered: “I don’t have a number in my mind. Some women do but I don’t really have a plan. I think that whatever happens is meant to happen.”

When asked to elaborate on that point, Jenner continued: “Like whatever happens happens? I think I’ve always felt that way. I believe things are written for us. Whatever is gonna happen, it’s gonna happen. But I also feel very in control of my life and my decisions.” Jenner gave birth to her and Travis Scott’s daughter, Stormi, in February 2018. After an on and off again relationship for several years, Jenner welcomed her second child with Scott, a son, in February 2022.

Elsewhere in her interview with Hommegirls, Jenner reflected on her decision to get lip filler when she was younger. She described it as the “best thing I’ve ever done.” “I think a big misconception about me is that I’ve had so much surgery on my face and that I was some insecure person, and I really wasn’t! Yeah, I love full lips and wanted full lips, but growing up I was always the most confident person in the room. I was the girl performing for everyone,” she said. “I had my one lip insecurity thing, so I got lip filler, and it was the best thing I’ve ever done. I don’t regret it. But I always thought I was cute.” She also said that the beauty advice she’d give Stormi would be, “Be confident, always be confident in yourself.” She further described her as “perfect the way that she is.”
