Lauren London’s life was radically changed forever on this day (March 31), five years ago. Hip-hop heads know all too well that the start of spring is followed by the sadness of Nipsey Hussle’s untimely death, though his powerful legacy lives on far beyond his time on Earth. This is largely thanks to London, who shares heartfelt tributes to him on social media regularly, reminding us how impactful her partner’s energy was on the countless lives he touched.

On Sunday morning, the 39-year-old posted a handsome photo of Kross’ father. He poses with a stark white Puma tracksuit and an abundance of chains around his next. “If you know me, you know March is always tough for me,” London’s emotional post says. “31 days of holding my breath. This day decided to fall on Easter Sunday this 2024, interesting… Considering your name #GodWillRise,” the mother of two added. “Energy never dies… I love you. Eternal Eternal.
💙🏁,” she concluded her annual memorium.

In the comments, several fans are sharing stories of their interactions with Hussle that are surely putting a smile on London’s face. “My husband was so excited as he had been a long-time fan. He was so kind, he waited for my husband to go back to the car to get his phone so that I could take a picture of them. I’m not going to lie, I was star-struck, but I told him that I loved you Lauren and that made him 😊,” one Instagram user recalled a chance meeting in St. Louis. “My husband took his passing very hard but tried to stand for the same things Nip stood for… community. Unfortunately, my husband was gunned down on Slauson last summer as well. I pray that their spirits are at 🕊💙.”

Losing her life partner has been hard on Lauren London, not only as a lover but also as a mother. Thankfully, in late 2023 it was confirmed that the black-haired beauty will receive half of Nipsey Hussle’s $11M assets on behalf of their son, Kross. According to the former, Mariahlynn was left with a black eye as a result of the scuffle. She even had to go to the hospital for her injuries. During a recent Instagram Live, she discussed the debacle, appearing proud of herself. Clearly, her addition to the cast will make for no dull moments.

It remains unclear exactly what prompted the fight. Social media users suspect, however, that it could have been Mariahlynn discussing Asian Doll’s business online. Apparently, the two of them have had issues for years. When it was announced that Asian Doll would be on Baddies Caribbean, Mariahlynn was vocal about it in the comments. From there, users think that it was “on sight” when the women ran into each other on set.

This is far from the first time Mariahlynn was left injured after a fight, however. Yesterday (March 30), the father of two boldly made his presence felt in New York City, where he brought two popular songs from his latest LP, UTOPIA, to the stage. For his solo appearance, Scott gave us a mellow rendition of “MY EYES,” complete with trippy visuals.

Later, to celebrate the debut of his new music video, La Flame brought out Playboi Carti to perform “FE!N,” which has become a crowd favourite at his live shows. The crowd was pleased to see the “Magnolia” artist in his element alongside Scott, not to mention watching the Houston native let his creativity flow freely after restraining it and laying low for so long. Interestingly, the “SICKO MODE” hitmaker is now requesting that he be removed from any outstanding Astroworld Festival lawsuits, as he wasn’t overseeing the security of the event.

Since then, the Bad Boy Records founder has been subject to even more scrutiny than usual, as countless social media users and peers share their reactions online. Most recently, R. Kelly even shared his thoughts on the debacle during a chat with Wack 100 on Clubhouse. He was critical of the investigation and others’ responses.

“The sh*t is cr*zy. Motherf*ckers out there laughing and making comedian jokes and doing all the other sh*t on the radio and everything else, but they a** could be next,” he explained. “That’s what’s so f*cked up about. They so st*pid they don’t even realize the moves that’s going on. I don’t believe none of this sh*t. You could tell me about Puffy, you could about anybody. You could tell me on the news, the weather, the sky is blue, I’m not gonna believe the sh*t. Cause I’m in it now, and I know what they did.”

Another convicted felon, Suge Knight, also recently shared his take on the raids. “It’s a bad day for hip hop, for the culture, for Black people,” he said. “‘Cause when one look bad, we all look bad… That’s definitely nothing to cheer about. I’ll tell you what Puffy, your life is in danger… You know they’re gonna get you if they can.”
