“Fast And Furious 9” Scores $160 Million Opening Weekend Internationally

The Fast Saga continues. The ninth installment into the series opened overseas in select markets, and it is doing very well. The film was released in South Korea, Hong Kong, Russia, China, and various countries in the Middle East.

Fast 9 took in $162.4 million in those counties over the weekend. That is the biggest take for a pandemic-era film. In comparison, Godzilla vs. Kong brought in $121 million opening weekend worldwide. “It shows us that audiences are willing to come back when the right movie is available,” says Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, Universal’s president of international distribution. The film touches down in America in about a month. Universal decided to stagger the release due to markets just opening back up across the world. Of course, the film was also been sitting on their shelf for over a year, ready to go.

The entire Fast franchise has sold over $6 billion in tickets, making it Universal’s top dog. The saga plans to drop two more installments, in what will probably be a “cliffhanger” two-part finale. However, Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs & Shaw is likely to keep pumping out movies, and other spin-offs are in the works. Will you be watching Fast 9 in theaters? Let us know below.

Maliibu Miitch Delivers Unapologetic Bars On New Track “I Like What I Like”

Over the past year, Maliibu Miitch has been able to grow a lot as an artist especially in light of the fact that she has gone independent. After leaving Atlantic Records, Maliibu Miitch has continuously dropped new music and singles like “Double O” have demonstrated her wide range of talents. Now, she is back with yet another hard-hitting song, this time called “I Like What I Like,” which sees the artist confidently expressing her every last desire.

The production here is hard-hitting and it helps fit Maliibu Miitch’s voice which is both deep and commanding. She has absolutely no time to waste on this track and when it comes to the men she wants in her life, she is very particular which is pretty evident when you read into the lyrics.

This is another solid effort from the artist and you can check it out, below.

Quotable Lyrics:

I like what I like, bad little biddie that’s talking all reckless
I like what I like, little daddy came through and he taught me a lesson

Method Man Launches Production Company With “How High 3” As First Project

There are few stoner comedies that can be considered classic but you can be assured that How High is one of them. The classic film starring Method Man and Redman became a cult favorite that fans have demanded a sequel for. Unfortunately, the closest thing to a sequel we got was the incredibly disappointing How High 2 starring DC Young Fly and Lil Yachty with no sign of Meth and Red anywhere on the film.

Thankfully, it seems that fans could expect the iconic duo to return to the screen for an official sequel to their 2001 film. According to Variety, Method Man and his manager, Shauna Garr, have launched their own production company called Six AM. The production company will produce a variety of content for all audiences but it’s the avid smokers that will be getting treated first. Six AM’s first project is How High 3. The film was sold to Universal 1440 with the intention of Method Man and Redman reprising their roles as Silas and Jamal, respectively.

Meth and Red recently reunited for a special 4/20 edition of Verzuz where they went through their classics. Shortly after, Method Man revealed that Redman would be joining him on the upcoming season of Power Book II: Ghost.

We’re excited to see How High 3. We will keep you up to date on any more developments.

Lil Nas X Accidentally Ripped His Pants Performing ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’ On ‘SNL’

Lil Nas X has done it all in the less than two years since his 2019 breakout moment. The singer has two Grammy awards to his name, the record for most consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard singles chart, and the most certified single in music history.

Despite the long list of achievements and milestones, prior to this weekend, one thing that Lil Nas hadn’t done yet was appear on Saturday Night Live. All of that changed last night when the singer stepped onto the Studio 8H stage to perform “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and “Sun Goes Down.”

The singer kicked off the night with a performance of the ever-so-controversial “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).” Sticking with the fiery theme of the song’s music video, Lil Nas danced and sang in front of a backdrop of hell that even featured a stripper pole for him to dance on.

Unfortunately, as he danced on the pole, Lil Nas accidentally ripped his pants in what proved to be a funny SNL moment. Afterward, he spoke about the wardrobe malfunction on Twitter. “I know i do a lot of planned sh*t but ripping my pants on live television is not one of them,” he wrote.

Lil Nas X would push past this potentially embarrassing TV moment and return to the SNL stage to end the night with a performance on “Sun Goes Down.”

You can watch the performances in the videos above.

James Harden Admits To Being Thrown Off By Large Crowd At Nets Game

James Harden and the Brooklyn Nets had a great start to the playoffs last night as they won their very first game against the Boston Celtics. This is a series that everyone is expecting them to win although when it comes to sports, you can never take anything for granted, even if you are the definitive favorite.

In fact, the Nets had a bit of a slow start last night, despite playing in front of 14,000 Nets fans at the Barclays Center. While speaking to reporters after the game, Harden admitted that it took a while to get used to the fans since the team has been playing in front of silence for the best part of a year. With the fans making so much noise, it took a few quarters to get used to the fanfare.

“In that first half, shots just didn’t go in,” Harden said. “Maybe I’m speaking for myself, but the crowd kind of just threw me off a little bit. It was pretty loud in there. The vibe was what we’ve been missing, and it just threw me off a little bit. That second half, we got more comfortable, and shots started to fall when we needed it to.”

With the Nets getting acquainted with the crowd, there is no denying they have all of the home-court advantage here, and in Game 2, they will be looking to come out with a very strong start.

Volcano Eruption In Democratic Republic Of Congo Causes Mass Exodus

The Democratic Republic of Congo is reeling right now as Mount Nyiragongo erupted for the first time since 2002. CNN reports that 8,000 people crossed over into Rwanda from the DRC after the eruption. “This morning, after lava flows from Nyiragongo volcano have stopped, most of Congolese evacuated to Rubavu are returning back home. Rwanda received around 8000 people last night,” Rwanda’s Emergency Management Ministry said on its official Twitter account.

“There has not been a massive panic movement, but people are really worried,” said Tom Peyre-Costa, the council’s spokesperson for West and Central Africa. Refugees from the DRC first headed to Rwanda but the border was closed. “Everywhere in the city you see people walking with their belongings, their children and even their goats and whatever they could grab. Most of them are just sitting by the road waiting to be able to go back any time soon,” Peyre-Costa said. 11 people died in the aftermath of the eruption. Five of them died in a car accident trying to flee, while four prisoners died while trying to get out of jail during the eruption. The prisoners were “trying to escape and could have clashed with guards.” Details regarding the other two deaths have not been released.

Funk Flex Goes In On Charlamagne Tha God After Kwame Brown’s Rant

Charlamagne Tha God opened up a can of worms when he shared some words for former NBA star Kwame Brown. It turned into a scathing rant on IG live where Brown issued a warning of sorts to the radio host before bringing up Charlamagne’s rape case. While this topic has been previously been discussed on The Breakfast Club, Funk Flex took it a step further on his radio show this weekend.

A post shared by FunkFlex (@funkflex)

While it’s no secret that Charlamagne Tha God and Funk Flex have their own issues with each other, the Hot 97 DJ used Kwame’s recent rant to go in-depth on these allegations against Charlamagne. It began on Friday night when Flex reposted Kwame’s rant, hinting that he would have more in store on his show.

The explosive episode of Flex’s show included audio of a woman accusing Charlamagne of drugging and sexually assaulting her teenage daughter Jessica Reid in 2001. “If he was going to be a friend to us, he came to us and said, ‘Don’t worry. Nothing’s going to happen to her and I’ll be sure that she’ll be safe.’ He eluded us to believe and trust in him and then he turns around and violates my daughter by raping and drugging her then he gets away with it,” the woman is heard saying while crying.

“17 years later, because he continues to make mockery about it; joke and laugh about it. Like, it doesn’t even matter to him,” said the woman said.

These allegations were brought back up in 2018, launching a petition to remove Charlamagne from The Breakfast Club. It was Kevin Hunter, Wendy Williams’s ex-husband, who hinted that Flex would have these audiotapes to play on his show. TheShadeRoom also obtained audio of Hunter seemingly bragging about orchestrating Charlamagne’s smear campaign over the allegations.

Following the investigation into the allegations, officials concluded that Charlamagne Tha God’s DNA wasn’t found in Reid’s rape kit. He was eventually cleared of sexual assault charges but pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor for the alcohol that was at the party where Reid claimed she was assaulted.

Funk Flex commented underneath TheShadeRoom’s post with a flurry of laughing crying emojis, writing, “Cease and desist.”

PlayStation x Nike PG 5 “PS5” Surfaces In Blue Colorway: Photos

Paul George’s Nike line has consistently been praised by fans over the last few years and in 2021, he has officially introduced the Nike PG 5. To help promote the launch of this shoe, Nike has teamed up with Sony again for a brand new PlayStation collaboration that will help pay homage to the brand new PS5. Over the past few weeks, we have seen the white colorway of this new PS5 collaboration and this weekend, a blue and black offering was revealed online.

In the official images below, you can see that the upper of the shoe is mostly covered in blue and black materials that stay true to the vibe of the PlayStation 5. Paul George and PlayStation logos are found on the tongue and insole as well, which helps bring the motif together. These elements work extremely well together and when compared to the white model, these kicks are a lot flashier.

With the white colorway dropping in June, we have yet to receive information about the release date for this latest colorway. With this in mind, keep it locked to HNHH as we will be sure to bring you all of the latest updates.
