Patrick Mahomes’ Wild Superstition Revealed

Patrick Mahomes just wrapped up his sixth season in the NFL and his fifth as a full-time starter. Overall, Mahomes has made the most of this as he has gone to five AFC title games, three Super Bowls, and has even won two of them. Moreover, he has won two league MVPs, which is massive. At this point, there are some people who believe he is already the third-greatest quarterback in the history of the NFL. It is hard to deny that considering he has done so much in such little time. In fact, it is pretty well set in stone that he will end up winning more Super Bowls at some point.

On Sunday, Mahomes secured his second Super Bowl title. Furthermore, he was able to win Super Bowl MVP thanks to a three-touchdown performance. It was a phenomenal showcase from Mahomes, and there is no doubt his career will only get better. Although, when you are so good, you have to have some tricks up your sleeve. While speaking to Adam Schefter for his podcast, Mahomes’ backup Chad Henne revealed some of those tricks. As it turns out, Mahomes is a very superstitious guy and has quite a few quirks.

Patrick Mahomes Is An Interesting Character

Henne, who retired after the Super Bowl, told Schefter that Mahomes always needs his notes written a certain way. However, this isn’t the wild part of his superstitious ways. Essentially, Mahomes wears the same red underwear during every single game. He has never deviated from these undergarments, and he reportedly never will. They have allowed him to enjoy a ton of success, and until Mahomes starts missing postseasons, he will likely wear them forever.

At this point, you have to appreciate Mahomes’ commitment to the bit. Although, we sure hope he is washing that underwear. Otherwise, that locker room probably smells crazy. Although, when the underwear are winning your teammates Super Bowls and National acclaim, the stench is probably easier to stomach.
