Someone finally scooped up Lil Wayne’s luxurious Miami mansion, according to TMZ. The Global Impact Award recipient put the home for sale in September, listing the mansion at $29.5M. The buyer scooped up the home, located in an exclusive South Florida neighborhood, for $28M. Though it’s a bit lower than the asking price, Wayne certainly made a few million off of the deal.
Weezy reportedly accepted the deal for the home last week on Feb 3rd, though the deal is still pending. However, it is close to being finalized. Cyril Matz of Douglas Elliman is representing Lil Wayne in closing the deal.
Lil Wayne bought the luxe property in 2018 for upwards of $16.5M and he didn’t hesitate to trick out the home. The home already had seven bedrooms and eleven bathrooms, as well as two kitchens, but he added a reflecting pool and an open-air cabana. Additionally, the home contains a movie theater, a three-car garage, a wine room, and an elevator. Not only that but it was also a waterfront property and a private dock on Allison Island off the coast of Miami Beach.
Though it’s unclear why he unloaded the Miami property, chances are he’s spending more time in California these days. In 2021, the rapper purchased a $15.4M mansion in Hidden Hills with other megastar neighbors, including The Weeknd. The modern farmhouse property includes seven bedrooms and seven and a half bathrooms. Additionally, it boasts amenities such as a infinity pool, a wet bar, a home gym, and a home theater.
Besides Lil Wayne’s real estate affairs, he’s coming off of an incredible weekend at the Grammys. The rapper hit the stage alongside DJ Khaled for an incredible performance of “God Did” with Jay-Z, Rick Ross, and Fridayy. Days before, the Black Music Collective also honored him with the Global Impact Award, presented by Drake via video. Lil Wayne expressed his gratitude for the award while reflecting on his beginnings in New Orleans. He also thanked the mother of his children, especially Toya Johnson, for allowing him to be a father during his teenage years.
“I walked into my momma room when I was 14, she asked me for a kid, because my dad was killed and her son had just blew up and went on his first tour,” he said. “When I came home, she said, ‘Son, I can’t live in this house by myself. We’re going to have to figure something out.’”
