Future Keeps His Hot Streak Going With Masterful “Mixtape Pluto”

Future has been keeping the streets fed in 2024. He dropped two dynamite albums with Metro Boomin, and now he’s back with a solo venture. Mixtape Pluto could not have had higher expectations, due to the title and the teased snippets. We’re here to confirm that Future delivered. Mixtape Pluto is the comeback that mid-2010s fans have been waiting for. The song titles are concise and hard-hitting, as are the beats and lyrics. “Teflon Don” is a perfect album opener, setting a mood that’s both ominous and aggressive. This is not the commercial friendly Pluto that works with Taylor Swift.

Mixtape Pluto goes from highlight to highlight. “Lil Demon” and “Ski” are ferocious bangers that manage to take the Dirty Sprite 2 template and amplify it. There’s no wasted space on these beats, or in Future’s manic delivery. Mixtape Pluto is no one trick pony, though. Future manages to keep things sounding both cohesive and versatile. “Too Fast” sees a contemplative Pluto croon over a haunting sample. “MJ” is an off kilter, interlude length track punctuated by a woozy instrumental. “SOUTH OF FRANCE” might just be the best song here, though. Future finds a staggeringly catchy pocket during his verses, and the musical bed underneath perfectly conveys its title.

Diddy Under Suicide Watch In Federal Detention Center As Precautionary Measure

In a new development, Sean “Diddy” Combs has been placed on suicide watch while being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center as first reported by PEOPLE … Wow.

This is a precautionary measure due to concerns about his mental state.

When you think about it, defendants facing this magnitude of charges are sometimes placed under suicide watch. Like, take Jeffrey Epstein, perhaps.

Anyway, Diddy, 54, is awaiting trial after being arrested on September 16 in Manhattan.

The charges against him are serious … They include racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution, all following Homeland Security raids on his Beverly Hills and Miami homes earlier in March.

ICYMI, a federal judge denied Diddy’s request for bail for the second time, despite his legal team’s offer of a $50 million bond. 50m’s.

Get this, attorney, Marc Agnifilo, confirmed that Diddy is currently being held in the facility’s special housing unit, which provides additional security, while awaiting the Bureau of Prisons’ decision on whether he will be transferred to a different facility. Agnifilo had requested a transfer to a New Jersey prison, but the final decision rests with the Bureau of Prisons.

The MDC, which serves as New York City’s main federal detention center since the closure of the Manhattan Metropolitan Correctional Center in 2021, has been notorious for harsh conditions, including frequent lockdowns, violence, and a string of suicides.

In a recent motion for bail, Diddy’s legal team highlighted the dangerous conditions in the MDC, noting that four inmates had committed suicide there in the past three years. We mentioned one of them above.

In his historic, record setting fashion, L.A. Dodgers’ DH Shohei Ohtani went 6-6, with 10 RBIs including 3 HRs in the Dodgers win over the Miami Marlins at loanDepot Park; all while putting himself in a solo class as the only player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs and steal rack up 50 stolen bases in single season.

Ohtani’s 10 RBI game set a franchise record for Los Angeles to help lock in their 12th postseason berth in a row.

The 30-year-old native of Japan became the sixth member of the 40/40 club last month with a monstrous walk-off grand slam in his 126th game of the season against the Rays.

Ohtani stole third base for his 50th bag after smashing a sharp double to right field in the first inning off RHP Edward Cabrera. In the sixth, Ohtani blasted his 49th homer to right fields upper deck, knocking in two runs off righty George Soriano. In the next inning, the 6’4″ switch player took Mike Baumann’s low knuckle curve to the opposite field , making him 5-5 at his next to last at-bat, with four extra base hits, including two homers and two steals. Another MLB record in what could be called the greatest single game for any player in history.

In his last visit to the plate of the night, the Marlins put second baseman Vidal Brijan on the mound and baseball’s “unicorn” did exactly what was expected of him with a 68 mph fastball; Shohei sent another ball to the upper deck for his 51st homer of the regular season.

Before Ohtani’s 50/50 record, the closet any other player got to 50 stolen bases with 50 HRs was the Alex Rodriguez(24) in 2007 and the late, great Willie Mays(24) in 1955.

This single season, record-breaking performance on the diamond comes exactly one year to the day after his elbow surgery, which took the multi-faceted player off the mound for 2024, but is expected to make a full recovery in order to make a pitching comeback in 2025.

Surpassing the comparisons of players such as Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron, Shohei Ohtani just proved that fans won’t see a player of his caliber anytime in the foreseeable future.

Diddy Allegedly Placed On Suicide Watch While Awaiting Trial

Diddy’s predicament is getting progressively worse. The Bad Boy founder has been denied bail, twice. He’s been sent to Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center to await his trial, and sources have reported to People Magazine that the situation is not ideal. Diddy has allegedly been placed on suicide watch at the detention center. It’s not yet known how long the mogul has been on suicide watch. It has been alleged, however, that Diddy is in “shock” following his arrest.

The sources at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center have claimed that Diddy is not suicidal, but is merely being place on suicide watch as a preventative measure. According to People Magazine, however, the suicide rate among inmates at MDC is alarmingly high. The outlet reports that the detention center is often understaffed, and Diddy’s legal team raised this concern in court. “Earlier this summer, an inmate was murdered,” the team asserted. “At least four inmates have died by suicide there in the past three years.” Evidently, the argument did not sway the court.

Diddy Was Placed On Watch As A Preventative Measure

This is not the first time concerns about Diddy’s safety have been raised. A former warden at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center told TMZ that the mogul’s life could be at risk. He alleged that several inmates at MDC would consider it a “badge of honor” to take out the celebrity. The outlet also provided details on Diddy’s current living conditions. The Bad Boy founder will have a 6 am wake up call, one hour of rec time, and three meals a day. The good news is that Diddy won’t be in general population, so the ex warden’s concerns are minimized. The bad news is that the mogul will have to wait until gen pop is given their food, so the meals won’t exactly be fresh.

Diddy is potentially looking at a lifetime of these meals if convicted. The mogul was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The charges were so severe, that the judge presiding over the case denied Diddy’s offer of a $50 million bond to be let go. Marc Agnifilo, the mogul’s attorney, called the decision “unjust prosecution.”

Will Smith Is Co-Producing A Queen Latifah Biopic, Which She Is Also Producing

Has anyone else noticed that there seems to be an increase in the sheer volume of musical biography films lately? Just in the past year, we’ve had Bob Marley: One Love, Back To Black, and Maestro, and looking forward, there are films in development about The Beatles, Pharrell, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, and Linda Ronstadt.

But hopefully, you’re not all biopicked out, because another name has been added to that list, and it’s one to actually get excited about: Queen Latifah. According to Deadline, an upcoming biopic about the Kennedy Center honoree co-produced by Will Smith will be the first of a slew of hip-hop-focused bio films from Flavor Unit Entertainment (Latifah’s production company), Westbrook Studios (Smith’s), and Jesse Collins Entertainment (which produced The New Edition Story and The Bobby Brown Story).

Latifah and Smith have a long history together, as noted by both in their press release about the project, including the 1989 Grammys boycott that forced the Recording Academy to truly acknowledge hip-hop in its annual award show. “We all came into this industry together and Hip-Hop has shaped each and every one of us,” said Latifah. “Hip-Hop’s impact has expanded beyond just music and has created a lasting impression on culture and society overall. It is a dream to be able to collaborate with friends and colleagues that have not only a shared understanding, but are able to tell these stories that were the backdrop of our lives.”

Smith echoed. “When you bring talented people and teams together, you can create something truly special. I’m thrilled to work alongside Flavor Unit, Jesse Collins Entertainment and HarbourView, to highlight the incredible stories of some of our favorite artists and icons. There’s no better story to start with than the one of Queen Latifah, an undisputed legend who has both entertained and inspired us for so many years.”

Latifah’s previous production credits include films about Salt-N-Pepa and The Clark Sisters.

The iHeartRadio Music Festival is this weekend in Las Vegas, and concertgoers can look forward to a full lineup including Big Sean, Camila Cabello, Doja Cat, Dua Lipa, Gwen Stefani, and more, with headliners Chris Martin and The Weeknd. However, they will be missing out on a third headliner, ASAP Rocky, who today announced he is dropping out of the festival due to illness.

Look I don’t want to cast aspersions on anyone, but the Harlem rapper has had a bumpy 2024 when it comes to keeping commitments. After declaring an August 30 release date for his long-awaited album, Don’t Be Dumb, Billboard revealed that the project would be delayed in its feature on him. He’s been dropping songs that may or may not appear on the album, such as “Tailor Swif” and “Ruby Rosary” with J. Cole, but has not offered any updates on its release. While we hope he gets well soon, we also hope he’s using the weekend off productively.

Chris Brown And Lil Durk Sued By Producer Claiming They Stole His Song

Chris Brown and Lil Durk are established superstars. They have dozens of hits tallied between them. Brown is one of the best-selling artists of all time, for crying out loud. That doesn’t mean they are exempt from legal action, however. Chris Brown and Lil Durk are being sued by a producer named Micah Foster, according to TMZ. The producer claims that the duo jacked the beat for their single “Till the Wheels Fall Off,” and intends to prove it in a court of law.

Foster claims that he released his song, “Wheels Fall Off,” in 2019. Not only does the song feature a similar title to the Chris Brown and Durk song, but the producer claims that he played it in front of the singer before its release. For context, Chris Brown and Lil Durk’s version dropped in 2022. Foster goes on to tell TMZ that has worked with Brown several times over the years. He claims that he’s worked with the singer to develop multiple hits. Generally speaking, collaboration means a portion of the royalties on the song. Foster, however, claims that Chris Brown and Lil Durk have stiffed him.

The producer is seeking his royalties from the song. “Til the Wheels Fall Off” has over 20 million streams on Spotify, so it’s safe to assume Foster is owed a nice chunk of change. This is not the first time Brown has been accused of “borrowing” from other songs.
