Less than two months after he being drafted out of West Virginia University by the Colorado Rockies organization, Petersburg, VA native Tevin Tucker has blessed TheSource.com with his exclusive, personal playlist.

The 24-year-old right hander has kept his skills on the infield ever since his days as a Mountaineer playing in the D1 Big 12 Conference, filling in the 6 slot at WVU until being switched to second base pretty consistently after being drafted by the Rockies organization in Arizona last year. His first full season started this year with two games with Rockies’ AA-affiliate Hartford Yard Goats then the remainder with the California League’s Fresno Grizzlies, A Single-A Rockies affiliate. Tucker roughed a .185 batting average in 306 PAs, with 23 RBIs including 2 HRs and 14 stolen bags in his first full season, but expect those numbers to jump in 2025 for the Virginia native.

Being from the Dirty South, Tucker has kept it trill to his Southern roots with his playlist selections, with Key Glock, Jeezy, Bankroll Fresh, Gunna and Bossman Dlow heavy on his 50+ track playlist. Check out the rest of Tucker’s audible palate on his one-of-a-kind playlist courtesy o Black Baseball Mixtape!

Happy 44th Birthday To The “King Of The South” T.I.!

T.I. Sued for Reportedly Fooling Investors Through Cryptocurrency

Happy born day to Mr.Clifford Harris Jr. aka T.I.!

Throughout the years, T.I. has become one of the most relevant forces in hip-hop. Besides his music career, T.I. is an actor, spokesperson for the AKOO clothing, and the leader of Hustle Gang, which includes Iggy Azealia, B.O.B, Young Dro, and more.

Today, we celebrate Tip’s 44th birthday by showcasing jams that highlights his growth as an artist.

Fuck Da City Up Feat. Young Jeezy
If T.I. wanted to, his mixtape game would be a lot more extensive. The title track of his first mixtape Fuck Da City Up was finally able to breathe, even if it was an online release. But since the tapes are beneath him, you got to appreciate when he makes a collabo with Young Jeezy pop off.

Rubberband Man
Before he was the kang, Tip was known as the “Rubber Band Man.” The hit put T.I. on the map around the country. It was one of the few tracks that initiated Grand Hustle into the game.

U Don’t Know Me
Mr. Harris kept his head in the game. Though there were a few signature hits to come off Urban Legendz, “You Don’t Know Me” went hard and made room for tracks like “ASAP” and “Motivation” to gain heavy momentum amongst the masses.

What You Know
The Kang of the South put himself on hip-hop’s pedestal with his smash single “What You Know.” The Southern anthem highlighted his King album and was on repeat in every major hip-hip radio station in the country.

Big Shit Poppin (Do It)
T.I. wanted to showcase his battle against himself for his fifth album T.I. vs. TIP. “Big Shit Poppin (Do It)” hit the Billboard Top 100 chart at #9, eventually obtaining certified gold.

Live Your Life Feat. Rihanna
Paper Trails put T.I. at a plateau with the success of the hit single “Live Your Life” with Roc Nation’s Rihanna. The memorable O-Zone sample created an international buzz that had new fans copping the album just the hear the Tip and RiRi collaboration.

Welcome To The World Feat. Kanye West & Kid Cudi
His film ‘Takers’ with Michael Ealy and Paul Walker hit theatres yet he still made the effort to release his sixth studio album, No Mercy. Though his single “I’m Back” sparked some hype, his collaboration with G.O.O.D Music soldiers Kanye West and Kid Cudi remains one of the highlights of the album.

Pimp Feat. Pimp C & Too $hort
For a mixtape, Fuck Da City Up featured work from huge names in the game like Dr. Dre, Hit-Boy and Young Jeezy. Too $hort spit along with an appearance by Pimp C in their collaboration “Pimp.”

Jayden Daniels, Jonathan Greenard, and Jack Fox Named NFC Players of the Week for Week 3

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, Minnesota Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard, and Detroit Lions punter Jack Fox have been named the NFC Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Players of the Week for their performances in Week 3 (September 19, 22-23).

Jayden Daniels delivered a historic performance in Washington’s 38-33 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Completing 21 of 23 pass attempts (91.3 percent) for 254 yards and two touchdowns, Daniels set a new NFL record for the highest completion percentage in a game by a rookie (minimum 20 attempts), surpassing Dak Prescott’s mark from 2016. The rookie quarterback also contributed 39 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground, earning his first Offensive Player of the Week honor. Daniels becomes the third Washington rookie quarterback to win the award, joining Robert Griffin III and Gus Frerotte.

Jonathan Greenard was dominant in the Vikings’ 34-7 rout of the Houston Texans, recording four tackles and three sacks. Greenard’s effort helped Minnesota become the third team since 1990 to notch at least five sacks in each of their first three games. His three sacks earned him his first Defensive Player of the Week award, making him the fifth Vikings linebacker to win the honor in the past decade.

Lions punter Jack Fox was a game-changer in Detroit’s 20-13 win over Arizona. Fox recorded five punts, with four landing inside the 20-yard line, three inside the 10, and one inside the five. His performance earned him his first Special Teams Player of the Week award, becoming the third punter in Lions history to claim the honor.

An Unofficial ‘Bridgerton’ Ball Sounds Like Fyre Festival And The Wonka ‘Experience’ After Treating Patrons To An Exotic Dancer And Raw Food

Bridgerton Season 2
Netflix

Lady Whistledown would not like this one bit, although the Duke might abide. John Oliver, who notoriously described Netflix’s Bridgerton as “lots of jizzing in blankets,” might also get a kick out of what awaited the show’s fans at an event that a Detroit-area organization advertised as the (Netflix-unaffiliated) “Detroit Bridgerton Ball” for a “Regency Era Dance” with this description:

Step into the enchanting world of the Regency era at the Detroit Bridgerton Themed Ball. Join us for an evening of sophistication, grace, and historical charm. Experience a night like no other filled with music, dance, and exquisite costumes.

What transpired, Dear Readers, was not as advertised. Local ABC affiliate Detroit 7 News must have gotten word of the event’s disastrous reception at historic social club Harmonie because reporters showed up “at the tail end,” where crews interviewed disgusted attendees, who couldn’t believe that there was “raw food” and “a stripper pole” instead of fine dining and Regency-era dancing. There was no Queen picking a “Diamond” for the courting season, and so on. The outlet quotes a sad Netflix fan:

“The way that it was described was this was going to be a Bridgerton evening. We were gonna have classical music, good dinner. There was gonna be a play and they were gonna pick Diamond of the season. They were gonna give away all of these prizes and we went in and it was completely empty in there,” said Amanda Sue Mathis as she stood outside of the Harmonie Club. “There is nothing going on. They have a pole in the middle of the dance floor. A stripper pole in the middle of the dance floor.”

This situation doesn’t sound quite as expensive and awful (or difficult to escape) as the Fyre Festival debacle on a remote island, or as surreal as the sorry Wonka-themed “Experience” in Glascow. Still, attendees reportedly invested hundreds of dollars on tickets to stare at their phones while sitting on the floor and wondering what happened. A full X/Twitter thread breaks down the madness, and the organizers of the event still haven’t explained why pole dancing was on the entertainment list. Maybe they are saving the context for a horror movie or Fyre Festival 3 (which will never happen).

Young Dolph’s Killer Alleges Yo Gotti’s Label Paid For His Legal Fees

Young Dolph’s murder trial is finally underway, and already, some huge revelations have been made. Earlier this week, for example, Shelby County Assistant District Attorney Paul Hagerman alleged that Yo Gotti’s late brother Big Jook put $100K on Young Dolph’s head. He went on to accuse Justin Johnson, one of the alleged killers, of shooting the Memphis rapper. According to Hagerman, Johnson was looking to sign with CMG and earn some cash.

“Big Jook, the person I told you about before, the number two guy at CMG, he’s put out a hit, a hit, $100,000 to whoever kills Dolph,” Hagerman said. “He has met with Justin (Johnson). He has met with Cornelius (Smith) and they think they’re ready to do it.” Now, one of the alleged killers has made yet another bombshell claim. According to Cornelius Smith, someone from CMG covered his $50K attorney fees, though he couldn’t confirm the amount or who paid them. “I don’t know exactly who,” he explained on the stand. “I didn’t get it in my hand.”

Cornelius Smith Takes The Stand Amid Young Dolph Murder Trial

He added that after the shooting, it was weighing heavily on his conscience, but not enough to prevent him from accepting the money. “I already did it, I might as well,” he stated. This update also arrives just days after Smith revealed he wasn’t paid the amount he was allegedly promised. According to DJ Akademiks, he said he was paid a measly $800 for the shooting when he was expecting $40K.

What do you think of Young Dolph’s accused killers alleging that Yo Gotti’s label CMG covered their attorney fees? What about them claiming that they didn’t receive the money they were allegedly promised to carry out the murder? Does this claim surprise you or not? What do you think of the trial so far? Busta Rhymes Labels Marcellus Williams’ Execution An “Unfathomable Travesty” In Passionate Response

Busta Rhymes voiced his support for Marcellus Williams on Instagram, Tuesday, after the US Supreme Court denied a stay of execution in his extremely controversial murder conviction. The move came despite attorneys on both sides of the original case, as well as the victim’s family, calling to stop the killing. Busta described it as an “unfathomable travesty.”

“An Unfathomable Travesty has transpired today with the Death of an Innocent Man,” Busta wrote. “You didn’t get your Justice here so make sure you serve your Justice from where you are Almighty.” Larry Komp, a member of Williams’ legal team, had confirmed that he maintained his innocence until the very end. “While he would readily admit to the wrongs he had done throughout his life, he never wavered in asserting his innocence of the crime for which he was put to death tonight,” Komp said, as caught by CNN. “Although we are devastated and in disbelief over what the State has done to an innocent man, we are comforted that he left this world in peace.”

Williams was convicted in 2001 of killing Felicia Gayle. On Saturday, his lawyers as well as St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell filed a joint brief requesting the case be brought back down to a lower court. Earlier this year, prosecutors argued that DNA testing on the knife used in the killing might suggest Williams was not the killer. However, last month, new DNA testing revealed the murder weapon had actually been mishandled and was thus contaminated. In addition to that drama, Williams’ attorneys argued that a prosecutor from Williams’ 2001 trial admitted that he had struck a potential juror from the jury pool because they were Black. Assistant Attorney General Michael Spillane countered that the prosecutor only said he did so because “they look like brothers.”

Busta Rhymes Shows Support For Marcellus Williams

In a statement posted to the organization’s social media pages, the NAACP condemned the execution. They wrote: “Missouri lynched another innocent Black man. Governor Parson had the responsibility to save this innocent life, and he didn’t … We will hold Governor Parson accountable. When DNA evidence proves innocence, capital punishment is not justice – it is murder.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Busta Rhymes and Marcellus Williams on HotNewHipHop.

Trae The Truth Has Enticing Intel On J Cole’s Eagerly Awaited “The Fall Off”

There are still a lot of projects we and a lot of fans are wanting to drop before the end of 2024. We are waiting on releases from A$AP Rocky, maybe Kendrick Lamar, Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR, just to name a handful. Arguably, though, J Cole’s The Fall Off is near the top of that wish list. It’s been teased on multiple occasions for the last couple of years, but this year feels a little different thanks to Might Delete Later. The surprise April mixtape kind of feels like a collection of teasers for this hyped-up offering.

However, with just about two months to go, we are still waiting in the wings. But Trae Tha Truth is providing a little bit of insight on what the plan is for J Cole, according to HipHopDX. Recently, the Houston rapper made an appearance on The Breakfast Club and he says that “his album coming”. That’s sort of just lip service, but around the 33:00 mark, the “Trae Tha Truth in Ibiza (Remix)” collaborator claims that most aren’t going to expect some things Cole has ready.

Trae Tha Truth Says J Cole’s Album Is On The Way

“And when the album coming, it’s probably gonna shock a lot of people. Remember what I tell you all the time: a lot of people form opinions on a lot of things and they don’t fully know the situation. He’ll be aight. Before it’s too late, you never know what bro what may do”. This is an allusion to Cole and Kendrick’s complicated relationship and the apology that set a lot of people off. Trae has been a defendant of the North Carolina MC over the entire beef, so his intel may have weight when it’s all said and done.

What are your thoughts on Trae Tha Truth’s beliefs about J Cole’s The Fall Off? Do you think we get the album by the end of the year, why or why not? What do you think we will come to learn in regard to him and Kendrick Lamar’s relationship? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Trae Tha Truth, J Cole, and Kendrick Lamar.
