Ovrkast. Teases His Upcoming Cardo-Produced EP With “CUT UP”

East Oakland, California rapper and producer Ovrkast has become one of the more exciting voices in hip-hop. He has been rapping for a little bit, but he’s mostly known for his production chops. If you are a Drake fan, or just checked out For All The Dogs and it’s deluxe, you may have seen his name credited on the project. His contributions come on “The Shoe Fits” and “Red Button”. However, he’s got stronger connections with underground names such as MAVI, redveil, MESSIAH!, and more. Also though, it’s safe to say that the Drizzy collaborations really opened things up for him because now he’s developing some serious chemistry with hitmaking superstar, Cardo. These two have been dropping some fun and sticky short joints for the last few months.

“PAYMEAGRIP” was the first to roll on in back in June. Then, the more animated “BIPPERS JOINT” would follow in early August. Now, Ovrkast and Cardo are back with presumably one more single, “CUT UP”, ahead of their upcoming EP. Speaking of which, the project is going to be out on October 4 (next Friday) and will be titled, KASTGOTWINGS. Hopefully, the clever title will deliver some more equally quirky and bouncy tracks like “CUT UP”. The formula on this song and on the others as well remains simple. There’s a solid beat, which in the case features some jazzy lead piano keys atop some thick kick drums. Ovrkast does his thing with a catchy chorus and head-nodding flow, so the ingredients are all there in the end. Check out “CUT UP” with the link below while you await KASTGOTWINGS.

K’naan Charged With Sexual Assault Over Alleged Festival Incident

Somalia-born and Toronto-raised rapper, singer, and filmmaker K’naan received a sexual assault charge in Quebec City this week, according to CBC News. Moreover, the claim stems from an alleged incident between July 16 and July 17 back in 2010, in which he allegedly sexually assaulted someone. The artist, real name Keinan Abdi Warsame, was in Quebec City on those dates to perform at a popular summer gathering, the Festival d’été de Québec in the province’s capital. According to the Crown prosecutor in this case, Louis-Philippe Desjardins, the alleged victim in question is a woman who was in her late 20s at the time of the alleged assault.

The woman reportedly filed a complaint with Montreal police back in May of 2022, a motion that authorities eventually moved to Quebec City. Per Radio-Canada, this is because K’naan’s alleged crime occurred in a hotel in that police force’s corresponding area. Although he was not present to witness this, the court began proceedings on this case on Thursday morning (September 26). In addition, they also reportedly set a preliminary inquiry for April 2025 according to Radio-Canada. The outlet also reported the 46-year-old’s lawyer’s alleged statements that he wants a jury trial in English.

K’naan At The 2017 Rescue Dinner

Furthermore, this accusation comes just days after Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) gifted K’naan with its Cultural Impact Award on Tuesday (September 24). The organization gave him this honor based on the “global and lasting impact” of his 2009 hit, “Wavin’ Flag.” At press time, it doesn’t seem like the director or his legal team have publicly responded to these allegations. Perhaps the near future will hold some sort of statement or legal update when it comes to his court case, one that we won’t see updates on for a few months if this report is accurate.

While K’naan has a large legacy as a rapper and musical artist, he also transitioned into filmmaking and philanthropic efforts a lot over the last few years. One relatively recent musical contribution you might remember is his collab with Residente, Snow Tha Product, and Riz MC for “Immigrants (We Get The Job Done)” off of The Hamilton Mixtape. We’ll see if we get any case updates on this soon.

SOURCE SPORTS: NY Giants Star Kayvon Thibodeaux Makes Investment In Sports Energy Drink G.O.A.T. Fuel

unnamed 8

Today, G.O.A.T. Fuel has announced that New York Giants outside linebacker, Kayvon Thibodeaux, has joined the G.O.A.T. Fuel team as a brand investor and ambassador. This news follows the brand’s announcement unveiled earlier this month of fellow NFL stars Breece Hall (New York Jets), Will Anderson Jr. (Houston Texans), and Terrion Arnold (Detroit Lions) joining the brand as G.O.A.T. Fuel’s newest lineup of brand ambassadors.

“Bringing Kayvon on as an investor is a continuation of our brand’s commitment to offering investment opportunities to young athletes,” said Co-Founder and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Jerry Rice. “Kayvon exhibits a desire to be the best both on and off the field which aligns with our core values here at G.O.A.T. Fuel and is going to help us reach new heights along with our NFL brand ambassadors.”

The move marks a pivotal moment for G.O.A.T. Fuel as it continues to not only expand its roster of athlete ambassadors but forge new pathways for professional athletes to grow their economic autonomy beyond sports. The dual ambassador and investor nature of today’s deal challenges the industry’s status quo of one-dimensional representation deals. Thibodeaux’s investment also underscores G.O.A.T. Fuel’s goals to expand its athletic investor pool in the coming years and become a leading entity supporting players looking to diversify their entrepreneurial portfolios.

“I am honored to join the G.O.A.T. Fuel family as an investor,” said Kayvon Thibodeaux, New York Giants OLB. “Jerry’s incredible legacy and Jaqui’s sharp entrepreneurial mind have shaped the success of their business and were standout qualities that inspired me to invest in the brand.”

Cardi B Stuns At Mugler Paris Fashion Week Show After Explosive Offset Spat

Cardi B has certainly made no shortage of headlines this week. Many of them revolve around her online spat with her ex, Offset. Yesterday, the “Enough” rapper hopped on Instagram Live to put him on blast. She accused him of threatening to go after her assets because she’s moved on from the relationship, and more. He fired back by accusing her of sleeping with someone else while she was pregnant with their child, and things only escalated from there.

NSFW text messages were exposed, apparent threats were made, and it appears as though the co-parents are on far from good terms. Clearly, however, Cardi B hasn’t let all of this drama slow her down in the slightest. Earlier today, she was spotted at the Mugler spring/summer Paris Fashion Week show.

Cardi B Rocks Edgy Black Look At Mugler Paris Fashion Week Show

She stunned in an all-black outfit, complete with a boxy jacket with creative cutouts and a mini skirt, which she complemented with a pair of matching heels and sheer tights. Her geometric hairstyle stole the show, covering both of her eyes and pairing well with the rest of the edgy fit. Fans are glad to see her out and about, particularly as she just welcomed her third child. Her latest sleek look was a dramatic departure from the bright, reflective gold gown she rocked for the Paco Rabanne this week. It was her first public appearance since her youngest daughter’s birth.

“SHAKIRAAAA SHAKIRAAAAA,” she captioned a clip of herself modeling the jaw-dropping look, making her inspiration known. Kanye West Officially Sells Malibu Mansion After Alleged Failed Bomb Shelter Conversion

Kanye West has one less property headache to worry about, as he officially closed a deal on his Malibu mansion. For those unaware, this is the one that he reportedly reduced to its bare essentials with the hopes of turning it into a bomb shelter, an idea that he seemingly scrapped altogether. According to supposed real estate sources who reportedly spoke to TMZ, Ye made the sale for $21 million about three years after purchasing it for $57 million. He initially listed it for $53 million, then dropped the price by $14 million, and finally secured a deal with Belwood Investments after another price drop. Belwood is reportedly a California-based “real estate crowdfunding firm.”

Moreover, the company’s CEO Bo Belmont reportedly announced plans to spend $5 million in renovations to restore the vision of the home’s designer Tadao Ando. Of course, most fans don’t care much about a property sale: they just want to hear when Kanye West will musically redeem himself (a third, fourth, or fifth time) after the disappointing Ty Dolla $ign collab album VULTURES 2. Travis Scott and Ty himself recently fueled new album rumors online, so die-hards are a bit more ravenous for new Ye material than usual.

In fact, some alleged leaked texts surfaced online that seem to show Kanye West and producer Digital Nas sending songs to one another. In this exchange, the Chicago artist seemingly suggested that he feels more focused and “locked in” when it comes to his artistry. “I’m going into my full Ye art studio mode,” he allegedly texted to Digital Nas. Of course, it’s entirely possible that he said the same thing about his VULTURES series, so don’t take this as gospel.

Meanwhile, it seems like we already have a taste of a potential new lead single for whatever Kanye West does next, collaboratively or otherwise. “Preacher Man” got an official IG snippet as a tease to hold fans over after he debuted the song at his China listening party with Ty Dolla $ign. Understandably, many listeners are still quite skeptical. We’ll see if Ye’s next release makes the doubters eat their words…

Boosie Badazz Wants To Know How Yung Miami Would Respond If Her Son Wanted His Nails Painted

It’s no secret that Boosie Badazz is going to voice his opinions on things, especially when it comes to sensitive topics. One of those we all know about is his views on the LGBTQ+ community. Overall, he claims to have no issues with people that associate themselves with it. That’s at least what he told former NFL quarterback Cam Newton on his 4th & 1 podcast. Where he draws the line with it is how it’s affecting the “younger generation”. He did pull out the pretty lame defensive tactic of saying that he’s got gay people in his life, so how could he be against it.

Allys and participants have been vocal back to him that they don’t understand his constant chatter. But if you have noticed, Boosie doesn’t seem to want to put it down. In fact, earlier this month, the Louisiana rapper tweeted, “IF A MAN IS PAINTING HIS NAILS, ITS EQUAL TO A MAN WEARING A THONG UP HIS AXX #realtalk get it sexy get it sexy”. His controversial nature regarding this discussion is why Yung Miami brought him on to a live version of her nominated podcast, Caresha Please.

To no surprise, they were having a debate about the effects of the LGBTQ+ community on the kids. However, Boosie posed a difficult scenario to her that would be challenging for any parent to go through. Miami does have a son, Jai, so he asked the mother of two what is he asks, “Momma! I wanna get my nails done”. She sort of dodges the question, replying, “I feel like you have to accept people for who they are”. Miami then goes on to correlate Boosie’s Southern Baptist upbringing to his more traditional views. Overall, Boosie seemed to agree with that point and at the end of the day, it should be nobody’s business but their own when it comes to how they want to raise their kids.

What are your thoughts on Boosie Badazz asking Yung Miami if she would allow her son to get his nails done? Do you think this is a problem parents have in America? Did Miami answer the question in the right way? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Boosie Badazz and Yung Miami. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Naomi Campbell Banned From Being Charity Trustee After Alleged Financial Misconduct

Naomi Campbell has been banned from being a trustee for the charity she founded almost 20 years ago, following a Charity Commission investigation that resulted in some shocking findings. According to The Guardian, Fashion for Relief allegedly only put a small fraction of the money it raised towards good causes, resulting in Campbell’s five-year disqualification. Allegedly, the probe revealed that the charity spent tens of thousands of pounds on things like flights, luxury hotel rooms, spa treatments, cigarettes, and more for Campbell.

Unauthorized consultancy payments were also allegedly made to one of the model’s fellow trustees, Bianka Hellmich. The UK’s Charity Commission released a statement on its findings today. “Fashion for Relief, which has been removed from the register of charities, was set up for the purpose of poverty relief and advancing health and education by making grants to charities or other organizations and by giving resources directly to those affected,” it reads in part.

UK Charity Commission Releases Report Showcasing Alleged Financial Mismanagement

“The inquiry saw no evidence that trustees had reviewed the charity’s operating model to ensure fundraising methods were in the charity’s best interest and costs were reasonable relative to income generated,” the report continues. Two other trustees were also banned. At the time of writing, Campbell has yet to comment on the situation publicly. This isn’t the first scandal she’s been involved in recently, however.

Earlier this month, she participated in the viral TikTok “demure” trend alongside celebrity stylist Law Roach. Their video prompted fans to speculate that they were shading Rihanna. Campbell and the songstress have a long history of not getting along. They recently went viral for an awkward encounter at New York Fashion Week, where Rihanna seemingly ignored Campbell. Source Sports: Derrick Rose Announces Retirement After Storied 16-Year NBA Career: “I Gave My All”

IMG 8974

Derrick Rose, the 35-year-old former NBA star, and fan favorite has officially hung up his sneakers, announcing his retirement after a 16-year journey filled with both triumphs and setbacks. Reflecting on his decision, Rose told ESPN, “Knowing that I gave my all to the game, I feel confident in my decision. Basketball was just the beginning for me. Now, it’s important that I give my all to my family — they deserve that.”

It all went down on the gram in an emotional Instagram post, Rose expressed his gratitude to basketball, the sport that defined much of his life. “Thank You, My First Love…,” he began, addressing basketball directly. “You believed in me through the highs and lows, my constant when everything else seemed uncertain. You showed me what love truly meant. You turned the court into my sanctuary, a home where I could express myself freely.”

Rose continued, “You reminded me that I could always rely on you, that in every moment of doubt, you would show me what I’m capable of. You introduced me to new places and cultures that a kid from Chicago could have never imagined. You taught me that every loss was a lesson and every win was a reason to be grateful. You offered wisdom that was not just about the game, but about life, discipline, hard work, perseverance.”

In a wow moment, Rose’s heartfelt letter was also shared in local newspapers in each of the six cities he played in during his NBA career, including Chicago, New York, Cleveland, Minnesota, Detroit, and Memphis. His final stop was with the Memphis Grizzlies, who agreed to release him from the final year of his contract, allowing him to retire on his own terms.

If you’re not a NBA fan, or know just how impactful Derrick Rose was, he burst onto the NBA scene in 2009, capturing the Rookie of the Year award and earning a spot on the All-Rookie First Team. His meteoric rise continued in 2011, when he became the youngest player in history to win the MVP award. That same year, he led the Chicago Bulls to a league-best 62-20 record and a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they eventually fell to the star-studded Miami Heat led by LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.

The turning point happened when Rose suffered a devastating ACL tear during the playoffs. The injury sidelined him for the entire following season, and he never fully returned to the form that once made him an MVP. Despite this, Rose remained a valuable player and a respected veteran presence on several teams throughout the rest of his career.

Respectfully, Derrick Rose finishes his career with averages of 17.4 points and 5.2 assists per game, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and determination. Though his time on the court has come to an end, his impact on the game and the fans who followed him will endure.

Young Dolph Murder Trial: Prosecutors Explain Why Alleged Mastermind Was Not Tried

The jury presiding over the trial for the murder of Young Dolph heard closing statements from lawyers on Thursday (September 26), but these remarks left some lingering questions. Most importantly, the court did not hear from the attack’s alleged mastermind Hernandez Govan. Instead, Justin Johnson (the alleged gunman in the case) was the only one who stood trial, as Cornelius Smith – the other alleged gunman – confessed to the murder in testimony on Monday (September 23) and stated that Johnson was his accomplice. On the other hand, Govan was expected to testify against his codefendant Johnson, but never took the stand.

Prosecutors in the Young Dolph murder trial had some interesting explanations for this. “I don’t want to go into too much detail,” Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy expressed to journalists on the scene. “But not every potential witness that we might have is necessary in a case. It’s not always necessary to bring everything you have to bear in order to prove everything beyond a reasonable doubt.” Johnson’s lawyer Luke Evans proposed that Govan did not testify because his side of the story would not have favored the prosecution.

Young Dolph Trial Livestream

“I don’t have the ability to wave a magic wand and give him a reduced sentence if he comes in and testify for me,” Evans reportedly remarked to jurors. “So he’s to my exclusion, to Mr. Johnson’s exclusion and to your exclusion. And if this is a truth-seeking function, why didn’t the state call him?” However, the prosecution in the Young Dolph case dismissed this argument. “He is a defendant,” Shelby County Deputy District Attorney Paul Hagerman stated while defending Govan’s right to not incriminate himself. “He is not a missing witness. That would be be insane.”

Johnson, Smith, and Govan faced first-degree murder charges, whereas a fourth accomplice (Johnson’s brother Jermarcus) pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder charges. While the court did not try them alongside Johnson, Smith and Govan inked no formal plea deals. Smith claimed that he and Johnson carried out a $100K hit on Young Dolph (which Govan allegedly helped organize) at the behest of Yo Gotti’s brother Big Jook, who was murdered in Memphis in January. No arrests have emerged in that case. As of writing this article, jurors will begin to deliberate this afternoon.
