[WATCH] Jay-Z Drinks Cognac Out Of His Grammy Award Following Beyonce Snub

Screenshot 2024 02 05 at 9.49.40 AM

Hip Hop billionaire Jay-Z took the time during his acceptance of his Dr. Dre Global Impact Award last night at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards to slam the Recording Academy for not giving his wife Beyonce Knowles album of the year.

He spoke on Beyonce being snubbed for Album of the Year, saying, “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than anyone, but has never won Album of the Year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work.”

Check out his commentary HERE

Following the heartfelt acceptance speech, Mr. Carter poured himself a shot of Armand de Brignac champagne into his phonograph and threw it back to the delight of the crowd.

Yes, Beyonce is Hov’s wife, but his insight into the winner selection process by the Academy wasn’t too far off the mark. Beyonce has 32 Grammy Awards, which is more than any other artist in the history of the award show. Additionally, Jay and Bey are tied for the most nominations for the coveted phonograph, with both of them boasting an incredible 88 nominations each. Jay himself has earned 24 Grammy awards, with six of those awards being Album of the Year.

[WATCH] Jay Z Calls Out The Recording Academy and Sparks Controversy at The Grammy’s

jayz

In a night filled with celebration and recognition, the 2024 Grammy Awards took an unexpected turn as Jay Z, while accepting the prestigious Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, used his platform to call out The Recording Academy for what he perceived as a snub towards his wife, Beyoncé. The Brooklyn mogul didn’t hold back as he addressed the audience, highlighting the discrepancy between Beyoncé’s unparalleled success and the Academy’s failure to honor her with Album of the Year accolades.

During his speech he said, “I’m just saying, we want y’all to get it right. We love y’all; we love y’all; we want you to get it right, or at least get it close to right, and obviously it’s subjective … because it’s music and it’s opinion-based, but some things — I don’t wan to embarrass this young lady” — referring to Beyoncè — “but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year, so even by your own metrics that doesn’t work. Think about that. The most Grammys and never won an album of the year. That doesn’t work.

“Some of you are going to go home tonight and feel like you’ve been robbed,” he continued. “Some of you may get robbed, some of you don’t belong in the category — when I get nervous I tell the truth.”

His words resonated deeply with fans and fellow artists alike, igniting a conversation about the criteria used by The Recording Academy to determine nominees and winners.

In a seemingly unrelated but equally impactful statement, he made a comment about artists feeling “robbed,” a remark that some interpreted as a veiled reference to Nicki Minaj and her fanbase, the Barbz. This offhand comment quickly caught attention on social media platforms, with fans speculating about potential underlying tensions within the music industry.

The Barbz, known for their unwavering support of Nicki Minaj, took to social media to express their disappointment and frustration, interpreting Jay Z’s comment as a direct jab at their favorite artist. The controversy surrounding Jay Z’s speech added fuel to the ongoing debate about fairness and transparency in music award shows, with fans and artists alike questioning the integrity of the selection process.

While Jay Z’s intention may have been to advocate for greater recognition of artists like Beyoncé and highlight the need for a fairer system within The Recording Academy, his comments inadvertently spark

ed controversy within the music community.Thoughts?

21 Savage Wants Money From Adin Ross After Streamer Gave Playboi Carti $1 Million For Six-Minute Appearance

21 Savage and Adin Ross got into it just a tiny bit last week. Overall, this was due to the fact that it looked like 21 had completely scammed the streamer, or at least tried to. As we reported, 21 was playing with marked cards, and Adin discovered it. Savage subsequently denied any wrongdoing and said it was someone from his team. Although Ross was upset about the situation, the two seemed to be on good terms. However, last night, Ross got finessed for real this time, by the likes of Playboi Carti.

Ross promised Carti $2 million to come on stream. The streamer paid $1 million up front as was going to give a second million. In the end, Ross decided against this as Carti came on the stream for all of six minutes. The artist barely said a word and then left. Ross took this as disrespect and ultimately decided to keep his money. However, 21 saw the reports about the $2 million payday and immediately called Ross to ask about it. As you can see, the rapper was a bit jealous that he didn’t get paid.

21 Savage Calls Adin

Ross tried to explain it, noting that he and 21 will have plenty of opportunities to make some cash together. However, as you can clearly tell, 21 would have loved to have been paid for his time on the stream. There have been times in which Ross has fronted an artist $50K for an appearance. However, for Carti, he thought the millions would prove to be a great investment. In the end, he was sorely mistaken for that one. Hopefully, Ross has learned his lesson and will not do that ever again.

Be sure to let us know what you think of this situation, in the comments section below. Should Adin stop having artists on his streams? Or will he learn his lesson? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists.

Travis Scott Calls Out Grammys Mid-Performance After Being Snubbed 10 Times

Music award shows can be a controversial thing for artists or fans to discuss. For instance, we know how Drake and Eminem feel about the Recording Academy. Their opinions on the Grammys are well-documented at this point. Now, we know how Travis Scott views it. He let his emotions be clear as day during his hat-trick performance at the 66th Grammys last night. Travis Scott led with two of his most popular cuts from UTOPIA, “MY EYES” and I KNOW ?” The more mellow cuts were a stark contrast to the explosiveness of “FE!N.”

The rage track, featuring Playboi Carti, turned out to be the perfect moment for La Flame to set the Recording Academy ablaze. Travis Scott shouted “They slept on me 10 times!” in place of the song’s traditional lyrics. Yes, believe it or not, he has never won a GRAMMY award in 10 overall nominations. One of his most shocking snubs was back in 2018 when he lost Best Rap Album to Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy.

Travis Let’s The Academy Know How He Feels

Many felt Cardi should not have won that year over all of the nominees. Fans of Travis Scott were expectedly stunned when they found out he was “snubbed” again. One fan comments, “lol if I’m trav im leavin.” Another adds, “man he should’ve won.” However, the winner this year was more respectable than back in 2018 in many people’s eyes. Killer Mike, one half of Run The Jewels, swept almost every rap category. He went on to take Best Rap Album, Rap Performance, and Rap Song. While UTOPIA was a great album, it seems Travis has to step his game up even further to snag a GRAMMY award.

What are your thoughts on Travis Scott saying that he was slept on during his “FE!N” performance at the Grammys? Do you think we will ever win an award, why or why not? Do you think he will continue to submit his work to the Recording Academy after going 0-10? Did he have the best performance of the night? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Kai Cenat Has No Clue Who Killer Mike Is

Kai Cenat was streaming last night during the Grammys. Overall, there were plenty of storylines to come out of last night. For instance, Taylor Swift won Album of the Year for Midnights. Furthermore, Jay-Z gave a very passionate speech about the music industry that probably hit home for a lot of people. There were also some amazing performances from the likes of Travis Scott, Burna Boy, Stevie Wonder, and more. Not to mention, before the Grammys, Killer Mike won for Rap Album Of The Year.

Cenat was paying attention to the pre-Grammy awards and saw Killer Mike accept his award. If you are a fan of Cenat, you know he is a young guy who only pays attention to trendy artists. Consequently, the only albums nominated that he cared about were Utopia, Heroes & Villains, and Her Loss. When Killer Mike got the award, Kai immediately began asking “who is that?” Yes, that is right folks, Kai Cenat does not know who Killer Mike is. It is a sad reality, but it is one that we unfortunately live in.

Kai Cenat Was Not Happy

Cenat went on to ask who was in charge of the decision to give Killer Mike the win. He felt like Her Loss and Utopia were a lot more deserving. However, if you’ve been paying attention, it was almost a guarantee that Killer Mike was going to win. Unfortunately, the Michael artist was arrested soon after the event as he allegedly got into an altercation with a security guard. It was a sad sight to see especially since the MC was on such an emotional high.

As for Cenat, someone in his camp is going to have to put him on Killer Mike. However, his camp is probably full of Gen-Z, so it is unlikely that will happen. Either way, this is certainly a teachable moment for the streamer. Let us know what you think about his knowledge gap, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on your favorite artists.
