Ice Cube Says He Was Banned From Oprah Winfrey’s Show & “The View”

Ice Cube says that Oprah Winfrey wouldn’t have him on her platform. He discussed his issues with Winfrey as well as The View during an interview with Tucker Carlson on his new Twitter show, Tuesday.

“I tried to go on The View. They didn’t have me on The View,” he began. “A few of the hosts just really didn’t like where I was coming from. That’s what I was told by the producers. I don’t know if it was the producers was just copping out and using some of the hosts to have me not explain myself. I’ve been on there before. It’s just when I’ve become an independent thinker. I don’t follow their brand of politics I guess.”

He further said: “I’ve been excluded on Oprah. I don’t know that it is. You know, I had a movie called Barbershop that I wasn’t invited to participate with the cast [on Oprah’s show]. I produced a show called Black White. It was a very controversial show and once again [Oprah] had the whole cast on and I wasn’t invited. So I don’t know what that’s really about. I really don’t know [why]. That’s something that I would love to find out.”

It’s not the first time Cube has expressed issues with Oprah Winfrey. Speaking with the magazine, FHM, in 2006, he previously revealed that the talk show host wouldn’t have him on for his aforementioned film, Barbershop. “For Barbershop, she had Cedric The Entertainer and Eve on, but I wasn’t invited. She’s had damn rapists, child molesters, and lying authors on her show. And if I’m not a rags-to-riches story for her, who is?” he said at the time.

Kid Cudi Launches Clothing Brand, Members Of The Rage

Kid Cudi launched his clothing brand, Members of the Rage, on Thursday at the London department store, Selfridges. At the release, he spoke with High Snobiety about how the brand came together. Cudi says the late Virgil Abloh and his OFF-WHITE brand served as an inspiration for the effort.

“I had some samples made, and they came back terrible, so I became discouraged and stuck to doing music with some movies on the side. It wasn’t until 2021 that I started getting back into it,” said Cudi. He further explained that he got motivated while quarantining for two weeks in Australia.

“I think without being forced to have free time, I wouldn’t have ever sat down and developed it,” he admitted. “I spoke to Virgil who was really supportive and then reached out to Nigo for guidance on the logo. We went back and forth for a month or so and then we had it.”

From there, he explained he wants the clothing brand to “be a problem for fashion, but a good one.”He elaborated: “People see MOTR and see a Kid Cudi brand, but this isn’t a game. I have goals. We’re coming for the top. I look at what Virgil did [with Off-White] and that’s the template. If I can do even half of what Off-White did for the culture, then I’d be than happy.”

Cudi’s clothing brand release came ahead of the announcement that he’ll be dropping a new album in September titled, Insano. The album will be Cudi’s first since last year’s Entergalactic. Dr. Dre To Be Honored With Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Dr. Dre will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2024. Others to be celebrated will include Gwen Stefani, Def Leppard, Brandy Norwood, Charles Fox, Darius Rucker, Glen Ballard, Sammy Hagar, and Toni Braxton, among a total of 31 others.

Selection committee member and radio host, Ellen K, reacted to the final list, as noted by Uproxx. “The committee did an amazing job choosing these very talented people,” she said. “We can’t wait to see each honoree’s reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway.”

Dr. Dre has participated in the ceremonies honoring numerous other hip-hop artists over the years including 50 Cent, Ice Cube, and Snoop Dogg. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest producers in the history of the genre. Dre began his career as a member of the iconic rap group, N.W.A. Critics often credit him as a key figure in the popularization of West Coast G-funk in the 1990s. The Library of Congress has selected his debut studio album, The Chronic, for preservation in the National Recording Registry as “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” In the 2000s, he shifted his focus to helping other artists with their own careers, signing both Eminem in 1998 and 50 Cent in 2002.

In addition to his music career, Dre is also the founder and CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and Beats Electronics. He also co-founded and previously served as the president of Death Row Records. By the looks of things, viewers are more concerned with Boosie’s interior decorating skills than the his massive bed. They weighed in on the rapper’s decor, with some even comparing the room to a Motel 6.

As of late, Boosie Badazz has also had a bit of a back and forth going on with Wack 100 about Kodak Black’s collab with 6ix9ine. Upon news of the collab, Boosie took to social media to trash the idea. “I wonder how all them Zoes feel, dawg? I know them Zoes f**ked up right now, I know the state of Florida f**ked up right now,” he wrote. He also claimed that Kodak Black has “no morals [and] no principles.” The rapper continued, “D**n. Thought that little ni**a wasn’t like that, bro. Ni**a ain’t no street ni**a, at all. D**n. F**ked me up.” His son even later chimed in, labeling 6ix9ine a “rat” and calling out Kodak Black for failing to follow through with their own collab plans.

Reportedly, Kodak Black got $1 million for the feature, but Boosie says the paycheck won’t help his case. Wack 100 flexed the check in a clip, also calling out Boosie for speaking down on the collab. “That ain’t what this bout n u know,” Boosie wrote. “U posting this does not help his situation at all it’s actually worst !! NOW he only got paid 600 k n gotta pay 400k n taxes.”

Online Mexico reports that the two are linked, PEOPLE has cited a source as saying that it’s “100 percent not true.” “They just happened to be at two of the same events. They barely even spent time together at either event,” the source explained.

“The Prince of PanAfricanism is requesting a confidential meeting with sister Suki next Friday or Saturday, July 28th or 29th, ahead of his Miami Gardens lecture,” the message read. “At an undisclosed public location in South Florida to discuss her interest in collaborating on a public campaign and program to combat the sexual exploitation and abuse of black girls and women.”

Travis Scott Fans Throw “Utopia” Party At Pyramids Despite Canceled Concert

Fans of Travis Scott celebrated the release of Utopia at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, where the rapper had intended to host a concert. Video of the group of fans partying while rapping the lyrics to “No Bystanders” has gone viral on social media. A fan page of Scott’s shared the initial video of the night, which prompted more fans to share their own clips.

Live Nation first announced the cancelation of Scott’s concert on July 26. “We regret to inform you that the UTOPIA show, originally scheduled for July 28th at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt is canceled,” the company said in a statement on Twitter. “Unfortunately, despite highest efforts, complex production issues meant that the show could not be constructed in the desert. We understand that this news is disappointing and not the outcome any of us desired.”

Scott later confirmed that he still intends to perform at the pyramids in some capacity, but will have to figure out a new date. “Egypt at the pyramids will happen But due to demand and detail logistics They just need a bit a time to set lay on lands,” Scott said in a tweet.

Egyptian General Syndicate for Musical Professions halted the concert shortly after Scott announced it. “Since the General Syndicate is part of the fabric of this beloved country it is keen on its stability and refuses to tamper with societal values and Egyptian and Arab customs,” the organization said in a statement. “Based on research and documented information about strange rituals at Travis’s concerts that are inconsistent with our authentic societal values and traditions, the Board of Directors has decided to cancel the license issued to hold this type of concert that contradicts the cultural identity of the Egyptian people.”
