Ab-Soul Calls His Latest Album, “HERBERT” Top 5 Of The Year

As 2022 quickly comes to a close, fans and artists alike are continuing to share their favorite music of the year.

Ab-Soul’s latest offering, HERBERT, has only been out for a couple of weeks. Regardless, the L.A. native thinks it’s a top-five album of the year.

He took to his Twitter account on Friday (December 30) to share his thoughts on his own fifth studio album. “ALSO. My album IS top 5 of da year. F*cc all dat humble sh*t. Dead homies,” he writes in his remark. Evidently, being humble isn’t in the “Illuminate” rapper’s New Year’s resolutions. However, the argument is definitely a fair one, as the album has garnered a positive reception.

The project serves as the TDE rapper’s first album in six years, following 2016’s Do What Thou Wilt. Throughout HERBERT‘s 18-song tracklist, the 35-year-old explicitly addresses the state of his mental health and his battles with depression.

As part of the rollout for the album, Ab-Soul sat down with Charlamagne Tha God for an intimate interview. During the pair’s talk, which lasted for over an hour, Soulo opens up about a suicide attempt.

“I pretty much finished the album before I did what I did. I jumped off a freeway overpass, man. It was about 50 feet. I think a car broke my fall. [I] walked from my mom’s house to the bridge and jumped off on the freeway overpass. Imagine, like, you’re walking and you blink and then you’re further. You blink and then you’re further, you blink and then I’m on a fence,” he details.

“My jaw is f*cked up. I got a lotta work to do still. I’m about 85% on my foot. My foot is completely reconstructed, all the way to my pelvis, my femur, everything, was affected except my knee. If my knee would’ve been affected, I might not be walking,” he says after stating that he wasn’t in control while it was happening.

HERBERT boasts features from the likes of Joey Bada$$, Jhené Aiko, Russ, Big Sean and others. Furthermore, it evidently showcases Soul getting deeply introspective.

Considering it was released so late into the year, it will certainly be interesting to see how many year-end lists it makes its way onto.

What are your thoughts on HERBERT? Is it cracking your year-end list? Comment down below. Finally, make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates in music and pop culture.

“A plea is a let out,” he added.

Williams Sr. also says that he plans on being present in the courtroom throughout the trial.

“I’m a parent. I’m a father,” he stated, before adding “I’m not that daddy who just there. Right now, it’s me and him against the world.”

Bryan Kohberger, Alleged Idaho Killer, Described As “Quiet But Intense” By Fellow Students

In wake of Bryan Kohberg’s identity finally coming to light, more information about the alleged University of Idaho killer is circulating. Following Friday’s (December 30) arrest, the former Ph.D. student’s classmates have been speaking out about their experiences with him.

As TMZ reports, the 28-year-old reportedly had a more “animated” attitude in class after carrying out the heinous murders. He was studying criminology in a graduate program at Washington State University. Previously, he earned a degree in criminal justice from DeSales University in Pennsylvania.

Speaking with the New York Times, fellow student B.K. Norton told the outlet that he “quickly noticed some red flags” in the time after the killings that weren’t as obvious earlier in the semester. “[Bryan] seemed more upbeat and willing to carry a conversation,” they recalled.

In their email, they additionally stated that Kohberger’s interests were leaning heavily toward forensic psychology. His demeanour is “quiet, but intense,” and apparently makes those around him uncomfortable. It’s also been said that he made remarks about being obviously anti-LGBTQ.

“He sort of creeped people out because he stared and didn’t talk much, but when he did it was very intelligent and he needed everyone to know he was smart,” Norton’s character statement claims.

At this time, many details regarding the deaths of Xana, Ethan, Kaylee, and Madison remain unknown. The Moscow Police Department hosted a press conference yesterday, at which time they answered questions in as much detail as possible.

Presently, Kohberger remains in Pennsylvania where he was arrested. The plan is to extradite him back to Idaho, where further proceedings can piece together the gruesome story.

Authorities have asked the public to continue to submit tips, even with the suspect charged and in custody. They’re looking for any piece of information that can bring justice to the victim’s families.

Smoke DZA Releases Monstrous Song, “What Would Push Do”

Smoke DZA just released a new album Money For Dummies, and it’s full of varied highlights and a little something for everyone. However, one of the album’s most visceral and immediate moments came in the form of “What Would Push Do.” Moreover, DZA fans might expect an even fusion of smooth flows, cloudy instrumentation, and a more classic-sounding beat. Still, the 38-year-old still has some tricks up his sleeve, as this track is undoubtedly nasty.

Firstly, the track title might raise some eyebrows at first. In fact, it references Pusha T’s track “What Would Meek Do?” off of his critically acclaimed 2018 album, DAYTONA. Not only does the instrumental follow a similar rhythm, tempo, and swing, but DZA’s delivery is similar to Push’s. Furthermore, there’s a nasty rasp to Smoke’s voice on this cut, to the point that one’s expecting Push’s “Yuuugh!” to pop out anytime.

Still, the obvious homage doesn’t dip too hard into rip-off territory. For one, DZA’s lyrical approach is a little more sprawling and varied. Then there’s the instrumental itself. The chorus of “Today, we selling’ bass” is emphasized by a monstrous drop. Moreover, the bass feels borderline overwhelming on this cut, which one can’t say about a chunk of his previous 2022 output.

What’s more is that “What Would Push Do” is the exception on Money For Dummies, not the rule. There’s more soulful boom-bap, drumless street tales, and wavy weed anthems. However, amid DZA’s skill set, this is a sound that fans surely wouldn’t mind seeing explored and developed.

What did you think of Smoke DZA’s new album cut, “What Would Push Do”? Let us know in the comments and peep some standout bars down below. Still, if you haven’t heard Money For Dummies yet, you can find the new song and album on your preferred streaming service. Michael Jackson’s Three Kids Enjoy Snow Day

Amid the holiday season, families everywhere are looking for good times to spend together, even the most famous ones. Michael Jackson’s three children Paris, Prince, and Bigi went for a snow day together in Tahoe.

WESTWOOD, CA – NOVEMBER 27: In this handout photo provided by Mohamed Hadid, singer Michael Jackson (3rd R) poses with real estate developer Mohamed Hadid (3rd L), Hadid’s children and Jackson’s children Michael Joseph Jr. (L), Paris Michael Katherine (C) and Prince Michael II (2nd R) on November 27, 2008 at the Jackson Holmby Hills residence in Westwood, California. Michael Jackson spent his final days in the house that Hadid had originally built and that Jackson leased for $100,000 a month from the current owner. While people’s interest is natural, it also speaks to MJ’s lasting impact and influence as a pop culture icon. Moreover, his 1982 album Thriller returned to the Billboard Top 10 a couple of weeks ago.

Paris, 24, wore a brown puffer coat with a matching vest. She also donned another color combo: burgundy pants with gloves. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Prince wore a black jacket and trousers with a helmet-clad ski mask. Bigi, who is 20, also wore a black jacket and combined it with black trousers.

All in all, they had some fun times on December 26th. Moreover, Paris posted some clips to her Instagram story of some struggles on the snow. She fell off of her snowboard in the clip, captioning it with “Can’t stop… like properly.”

Even with all the fun and staying busy with projects, like Paris’s music career, they still remember their dad. On Halloween this year, Prince spoke to E! News about honoring the King of Pop’s legacy every day, as an artist and father.

“I have photos of him and the uncles inside my house,” he expressed, “I have artistic paintings of him around my house. I like to lead my life with love, which is what he taught me and I try to help at least one person a day and I feel like that is a way of continuing his legacy.”

Meanwhile, these children also have his music to cherish and celebrate his life through. Prince stated that he feels his father coming through in his music in a way that feels more intimate than you’d expect.

“I was given so many awesome nuggets of information when I had him with me as a father and he was also very personable in the way he wrote his music,” he said. “If you listen to it, there’s a lot of him in that. It’s awesome to put it on and feel connected to him again in that way.”

Did you have a snow day of your own this holiday season, famous family or not? Let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, stay tuned to HNHH for more wholesome celebrity outings.

Yung Joc Asks Why It’s Controversial To Listen To R. Kelly’s Music

Yung Joc wants to know why it’s controversial to listen to R. Kelly‘s music after his conviction. Speaking with VladTV, he brought up other people’s art, such as Harvey Weinstein, and audiences still watching their movies.

“Why is that all of his music has to be banned, why is that?” Yung Joc asked. “Because it’s so many other people who have done things bad, been convicted for it and their TV shows are still running or their music is still being streamed and played and sold… It’s like we get the harshest punishment, man.”

“I’m not saying that in some cases it’s not deserved. You know, you earned that,” he admitted. “I ain’t saying that. That’s not the case, but I’m just saying, we do get the harsher punishment. Because I ain’t gon’ lie, R. Kelly made some great music.”

He continued to describe his music as” timeless” and important to “my childhood to my adolescence to my adulthood?”

“Oh, he did something bad so I’m supposed to just clearly wipe him out of my mind?” Joc added.

Joc finished by reiterating: “It’s like why has no one pushed for these things to happen to other offenders in the world? That’s what I want to say, because it’s just crazy to me.”

Kelly is currently behind bars for federal sex crimes. In September, a jury found him guilty of three counts of child pornography, and three counts of enticing minors for sex.

Joc’s comments come ahead of the premiere of Surviving R. Kelly: The Final Chapter in January.

LaKeith Stanfield Proposes To Model GF, 24-Year-Old Outs Him As Her Baby Daddy

LaKeith Stanfield is something of a heartthrob in Hollywood. With many fellow celebrities and fans crushing on him, he has no trouble keeping a woman in his life. Previously, the actor was in a long-term relationship with The Mindy Project star Xosha Roquemore. Now, however, he’s getting increasingly serious with model Kasmere Trice.

The couple became Instagram official just a few months ago. Already, the Sorry To Bother You performer has surprisingly put a ring on it. On Friday (December 30), his partner said on Twitter that her birthday was extra special this year thanks to a proposal.

“Yea… I’m having the best birthday,” she wrote yesterday above beautiful images of the ring, as well as one of the couple sightseeing together. “My baby made me Mrs. Stanfield for my birthday! #LaKeithAndKasmereForever.”

While many have been celebrating the exciting news (and expressing their envy, of course), it seems a woman from Stanfield’s past has a big announcement of her own. On Saturday (December 31), 24-year-old artist Tylor Hurd posted a video revealing herself as the mother of his child.

“Decided to leave being someone’s secret family in 2022. Meet Apollo Stanfield,” she wrote in the caption. Throughout the TikTok, various photos and videos flash across the screen. We see maternity shots of the young woman alone. Next, there’s her after giving birth and the young one’s growth throughout the months.

Additionally, Stanfield appears in some of the footage. He goofily dances as the infant watches on in amusement, and smiles while holding the little one at an arcade.

After she was hit with criticism for sharing her truth so close to her baby daddy’s engagement, Hurd’s social media lit up with a message. “Just to clear a few things up, I’m not jealous that he’s engaged to a woman he’s known for five months.”

“I tried to meet the girl and everything and she ignored me when I tried,” she went on. “What I’m upset about is that he’s made more time to spend with this woman than he’s spent with Apollo her whole life, and has been actively ignoring me when I’m trying to figure things out for our child.”

She concluded, “And those clips of him and her together are all I have in general cause he barely sees her.”
