DJ Khaled Buys Scores Of Lottery Tickets In Bid For Billion Dollar Prize

DJ Khaled, one of the biggest names in music, is famous for his big personality, unforgettable songs, and his lavish lifestyle of expensive cars and multi-million dollar mansions. But despite his vast fortune, an estimated $75 million according to Forbes magazine, the “Popstar” producer went on Instagram on Thursday to show off the dozens of lottery tickets he has purchased in an attempt to take home the Powerball jackpot, a prize worth an estimated $1.02 billion.

Khaled, coming off the release of his twelfth studio album Khaled Khaled in 2021, has been relatively quiet for his standards in recent months. The 46 year old celebrated the birth of his second son, Aalam, in 2020. His firstborn son, Asahd, was an internet celebrity from birth, due in major part to his appearances on his father’s albums Grateful and Father of Asahd. Both of his sons made appearances on the cover of Khaled Khaled.

Khaled’s moneymaking schemes did not go unnoticed by others in the music industry. Pierre “P” Thomas, the cofounder of Quality Control Music, joined Khaled in attempting to get rich quick off the lottery.

The winner of the next Powerball will be announced on Friday. If nobody wins, the jackpot will continue to roll over and grow even larger.

Bubbling Orlando rapper Hotboii has officially delivered his latest body of work, Blinded By Death. The 17-song effort from Hotboii proves that he’s one of the hottest rappers out right now. His authentic penmanship and the vulnerability conveyed in his voice are paired with exhilarating trap production. Blinded By Death boasts features from Big30, Kodak Black, and Lil Uzi Vert, who appears on “Throw In The Towel” and “Fashion.”

Hotboii’s continued to build a name for himself since breaking out with “Don’t Need Time” and the remix featuring Lil Baby. Last year, Hotboii released his last body of work, Life Of A Hotboii ft. Moneybagg Yo, 42 Dugg, Lil Tjay, and Kodak Black.

Ryan Garcia Calls Jack Harlow “The New Kanye”

Boxing champion Ryan Garcia, fresh off his knockout win over Javier Fortuna two weeks ago, has found himself back in the spotlight. The 23-year-old star took to Twitter on Thursday, with a controversial statement that shocked and angered the public. “Jack Harlow the new Kanye,” he tweeted. “When I listen to Jack Harlow’s bars in his songs it reminds me of Kanye west back in the day, he has catchy bars, why the overreacting…”

Harlow, one of the most promising young stars in hip hop right now, is fresh off the release of his album Come Home The Kids Miss You, which debuted to mixed reviews from critics and fans. While the album had standouts such as “First Class” and “Dua Lipa”, it was evident Harlow had work to do in finding his voice earlier in his career.

Garcia, one of the brightest young talents in boxing right now, is currently pursuing fights with other big-name stars like Gevonta Davis and Teofimo Lopez. While his music taste is now under fire, there is no denying his ability in the boxing ring. The Mexican-American star sits with a 23-0 record, with 19 of those wins via knockout.

Harlow has mentioned in past interviews that Kanye’s style of rapping heavily influenced the development of his music. In turn, West has spoken highly of Harlow, calling him one of the best performers in the world after the release of his hit “Nail Tech.”

Mikey Polo Unveils Fiery Visuals for “Emo Note+++”

Mikey Polo has unveiled a new music video for his single, “Emo Note+++.” The song appears on his most recent album, EMO or DIE 2. The video was directed by Yellow Tapez and found Mikey Polo transitioning between scenes of him standing between flames, rapping the lyrics to the song in the hall of a storage facility. The emo trap talent keeps the moody aura flowing through the dark clothes, red room, and the addition of bats and flames throughout the video. The addition of crosses and the slow-motion effects emphasizes the theme. 

       Mikey Polo released his new project EMO or DIE 2 in mid-July. The lead single, “Emo Note,” features Canadian rapper Pressa. Other features include rappers Ka$hdami and Slimesito. This album shows Mikey tapping into his signature “cloud trap rap” sound. He is embracing his roots, the punk rock aesthetic and sound. Mikey says he is neither demonic nor gothic, but he loves the “dark” aesthetic. 

  The emotionally charged sound Mikey Polo creates is uniquely positioned between alternative music and hip hop. His music influences include Lil Wayne, Bone Thugs, and Gucci Mane. He stands out with his curative process, and, by default, stylistically, the outcome is a subgenre of its own known as emo trap. He produces beats and works well with other producers to develop an original body of work.
