EarthGang Shares “Ghetto Gods” Ft. J. Cole, Future, J.I.D, Ari Lennox, Cee-Lo & More

After multiple delays, the world has finally received EarthGang’s highly-anticipated album, Ghetto Gods. Dreamville’s eclectic Atlanta duo Olu and WowGr8 have been promising the release of this project for some time, and with each new date, fans have been left disappointed. However, perfection takes time, and these creatives are known for executing excellence with each record.

“It’s straight-up honesty,” Olu told Rolling Stone before specifically speaking on one of the album’s closing tracks, “Strong Friends.” The song is about checking in with those you care for because you don’t know what ails someone until you ask them about what they may be going through. “It’s really just talking about the ability and the strength to open up and to be honest, no matter what anybody says or how they respond to your truth. It’s an unburdening of yourself.”

Ghetto Gods hosts several features from Future, J.I.D, J. Cole, Musiq Soulchild, Baby Tate, Lynae Vanee, Cee-Lo Green, Nick Cannon, and Ari Lennox. Stream Ghetto Gods and let us know what you think.

Cardi B Praises Joe Budden After He Calls Her A “Superstar”: “That’s My Mean Uncle”

Despite giving a clap back to remarks he made about her last month, Cardi B has praised Joe Budden for always supporting her career. It was just a few weeks ago when Budden took to his famed podcast to speak about Cardi having “mad time” to do whatever she wants because she’s sitting on top of the world and not working on a project.

“I have mad time because I’m not doing an album and I have all the money in the world, so much so, you see me every month trying to give it away,” Budden said on his podcast, speaking as Cardi. “I’m giving Offset money, I’m buying a house over here, a house over here, I’m paying for funerals.”

Cardi quickly issued a post and delete where she interpreted the remarks as calling her lazy, but everything is all good between the Love & Hip Hop New York stars. A more recent clip of Budden calling Cardi a “superstar” went viral, prompting the “Up” rapper to retweet the video with a message.

“I told y’all he always believed in me,” Cardi wrote alongside a throwback photo of herself with Budden and former The Joe Budden Podcast co-host Rory Farrell. “That’s why I always got love for him even when he gets me mad …That’s my mean uncle.” Check out the love exchange below.

Snoop Dogg Suggests That Queen Elizabeth II Once Saved Him From Being Exiled From The UK

Snoop Dogg has three decades worth of experience in the music industry. It goes back to the 1990s with his time on the legendary Death Row record label and more recently to earlier this month where he, along with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, and Anderson .Paak, performed at the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show. Snoop also has plenty of great memories that took place outside of the music world, and during an interview with DJ Whoo Kid tha was released today, he shared one that involved Queen Elizabeth II coming to his rescue.

“You got to embrace this sh*t because you used to be a young n****,” Snoop Dogg began. “N****s didn’t understand us when I was 17. Look at all of the footage of me when I was a young n****. They was trying to — they kicked me out the U.K.!” Snoop is referring to his first tour in the United Kingdom back in 1994. Press coverage from a number of tabloids in the country, including The Daily Star, called for his exile from the UK.

“‘Kick this evil bastard out’,” Snoop said one of the headlines read. “Look at me, it’s a headline n****. That sh*t is documented. They had a picture of me on the front, I had a handcuff on one of my hands — this a picture I took. I got a handcuff on one of my hands — and the other one was off. “He continued, “They was like, ‘Kick this evil bastard out.’” Snoop then explained how Queen Elizabeth II, who recently tested positive for COVID-19, came to his rescue and how Prince Harry and Prince William may have helped.

“But guess who came to my defense?” he said. “The Queen n****. The Queen said ‘This man has done nothing in our country he can come.’ The Queen n****, bow down. When The Queen speaks bow down.” He continued, “That’s Harry and William’s grandmother you dig. You think you think they weren’t there saying ‘Grandma please let him in grandma he’s OK, we love his music.’ ‘You know Harry, I’ll let him in for you he’s not so bad after all and he’s quite cute.’”

Sha’Carri Richardson Shares What She Learned From Olympics Suspension

Ahead of the Tokyo Olympics, track star Sha’Carri Richardson was a frontrunner, no pun intended. The public, international recognition was quick as her successes were applauded, but after testing positive for THC just ahead of the games, Richardson was suspended, leaving her out of the competition. It was learned that her mother had recently passed away and she was struggling emotionally while also preparing for the biggest athletic feat of her career, but that did not garner her any sympathy. In the blink of an eye, Richardson found herself the target of hate and ridicule.

She spoke about working even harder for the next Olympic Games, and in an interview with Teen Vogue, Richardson detailed what she learned from the experience.

“How I show myself forgiveness is honestly by acknowledging it first, acknowledging the situation for what it is, acknowledging my responsibilities in it, and talking about it to the people I feel like it impacted besides myself,” she said. “When I had the entire situation of being banned from the Tokyo Games, the people who I talked to first were the people who I felt like were with me the most on the journey. I apologized to them first. I felt like they had to hold my shame as well, in a way — or my guilt, in a way.”

“Acknowledging them made me feel like it was okay within myself … and [I] actually allowed myself to feel those emotions. That whole situation was a very big growing and touching experience for me and my community,” she added. “That entire situation taught me to look into myself and to see that I have to be grounded, because do you see how fast they flip?”

Richardson believes that “it almost seems like” Black women “have to be superheroes,” stating, “It’s just irritating because you take away the abilities, you take away the speed, you take away the talent…and we’re still human.”
