Tierra Whack Returns With New Single “Stand Up”

Philadelphia rapper Tierra Whack is officially back in the game, dropping her new single “Stand Up” ahead of the release of her new project Rap? this week. It was announced just a few days ago that the eccentric rapper was returning with a new EP, and the first music from it has finally dropped.

Arriving beside a new music video, “Stand Up” was inspired by a recent conversation with JAY-Z about how she’s the equivalent of the rap-game Joker.

“So I’ve seen the most recent Joker, the movie, about five times, it’s like one of my favorite movies,” said Tierra during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 on Thursday morning. “I watched it once just by myself when it first came out and then I had a conversation with Jay-Z and he was like, ‘Yo, you’re the joker of the game.’ And I’m like, ‘What does that mean?’ And he’s like, ‘You come off happy but there’s a dark side.’ And honestly it stuck with me. And I’m just like, you know what? That’s exactly who I am. I’m the joker, I’m the wild card. So yeah, I needed a record to make me feel badass, and that’s what ‘Stand Up’ is.”

She also spoke about specifically making music for sync opportunities, saying, “We’ve been blessed to get a few opportunities, plenty, honestly plenty, we have so many calls and emails coming in all the time, just for movies and soundtracks. So I’m just always trying to make music for movies. From the production with my producer J Melodic and then the lyrics, on my behalf. Just always trying, I want to hear and see my music in a movie. So yeah, definitely. I can play The Joker, I can play that movie on mute and then just play ‘Stand Up’ and be like, oh yeah, this feels right.”

Check out Tierra Whack’s new single below, and stay tuned for her new EP Rap? dropping tonight.

Joel Embiid Reveals His Post COVID-19 Issues

Joel Embiid is one of the best big men in the entire NBA, although, over the course of the last few weeks, he has dealt with a pretty bad COVID-19 case. The Philadelphia 76ers superstar felt like he was going to die, and in the end, he had to miss quite a bit of time due to conditioning. Now, Embiid is back in the lineup, although he has certainly struggled at times when it comes to playing an entire game.

Last night, Embiid scored 13 points in a loss against the Celtics, and while he did have 18 rebounds, it’s clear that he wasn’t at his best. After the game, Embiid told Tim Bontemps of ESPN that he still isn’t 100 percent right now and that it might take him a few more weeks before his cardio is back to where it used to be.

“I would never use it as an excuse, but obviously I think it’s going to take me a while to get back, especially legs and cardio and all that stuff,” Embiid said. “I can’t be playing the way I’ve played these last two games, especially when it comes to shotmaking. If teams are going to double me and I’m not going to get easy baskets, I have to create for myself and my teammates, and I’ve got to make those shots.”

Various players throughout the league have spoken at length about their experiences with COVID, and Embiid is one of the more prominent ones to do so. Hopefully, the long-lasting effects of the virus go away soon, as Embiid is a treasure to the league.

Machine Gun Kelly Recalls The Time He Accidentally Stabbed Himself While Trying To Impress Megan Fox

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly’s relationship never fails to make headlines whether they’re making out on the red carpet or sharing some very confusing pickup lines used at the start of their relationship. They’ve been dating for a few months now and are so comfortable with each other that MGK knows Fox’s bucket list includes getting abducted by aliens. But, as any relationship goes, they still tried impressing each other when they first got together. MGK even went so far as to accidentally stab himself while trying to look cool in front of Fox.

MGK recently sat down for an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where he recalled the story. The musician started off by explaining the fateful night that started with him severely bruising a bone in his butt and ended with a knife lodged in his hand. It all went down right when he and Fox had first started dating and he was playing a filmed beer pong match with Post Malone. MGK entered the beer pong arena by sliding down a staircase railing and he failed to see a giant spike at the bottom — which was obviously very painful. But since he was trying to act tough before the game, the musician played it off and acted like he wasn’t in pain.

MGK impressively ended up winning the beer pong game (he later found out he had bruised the bone in his butt called a coccyx) and went home with Fox. To try to impress her, he picked up an engraved knife that was gifted to him and tossed it in the air with the intention of catching it without looking. “I threw it up and it came down and stuck in my hand,” he said, showing Fallon the scar he still has to this day.

Watch MGK talk about his relationship with Fox on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon above, around the 5-minute mark.

Cardi B Joins ‘Playboy’ Magazine As Its First-Ever Creative Director In Residence

Cardi B’s brash lyrics and unapologetic attitude when it comes to sex and femininity have made her a fan-favorite public persona. Now, she’s bringing those qualities to a new endeavor in partnership with an institution that has long been on the forefront of sex-forward pop culture: Playboy magazine.

Today, Cardi announced that she’s joining the magazine in the newly-minted role of Creative Director In Residence. On Instagram, she told fans, “Joining the Playboy family is a dream and I know yall are going to love what we put together.”

She also announced the creation of a new, creator-led platform called “Centerfold,” and although she didn’t provide many details, she noted, “We’re going to have soooooo much fun.”

It wouldn’t be the first time Cardi adopted a role at a risque platform; in August of 2020, she joined the controversial but growing social media network OnlyFans, which at the time was primarily known for serving adult content. However, at the time, she quickly clarified that she wouldn’t be “SHOWING P*SSY , TITTIES AND ASS,” and would instead use it to live chat with fans safely protected by a paywall.

On the face of things, these partnerships make perfect sense for the outspoken “WAP” rapper who, like Playboy magazine itself over the years, has come under fire for her raunchy content while offering astute observations on politics and current events. In any event, it’s a pretty impressive career expansion for Cardi, who also recently added AMAs host and celebrity wedding officiant to her ever-growing resume.

Juice WRLD’s Mother Writes A Heartbreaking Birthday Letter To The Late Rapper

Today would have been Chicago rapper Juice WRLD’s 23rd birthday, and the later rapper’s mother Carmela Wallace commemorated the occasion with a heartbreaking open letter remembering past birthdays and vowing to honor his memory through the Live Free 999 foundation she started in his name.

Juice died of an accidental overdose in December 2019. Since then, a posthumous album, Legends Never Die, has been released, with a second, Fighting Demons, planned for release next Friday, December 10. You can read Ms. Wallace’s full letter below, courtesy of Complex.

Dear Jarad,

When you were born 23 years ago, I never expected that you would not to be here today celebrating your birthday. Although it has been nearly two years since you’ve been gone, I still think about you every day and losing you has changed my life forever. I’m glad that we always made sure that we said goodbye when we left each other because we didn’t know when we would see each other again.

If you were here, I am sure that I would have said something like how it seemed like just yesterday that you were born. I know that I would have told you how proud I was of the man you became and your commitment to changing lives. I miss celebrating your birthday and all the good times that we shared. I have so many wonderful memories of you that will live in my heart forever.

I remember when you found your birthday gift the year that you turned nine. It was a white mp3 player that I hid in my closet. When you found it, you were too excited to hide the fact that you found it and proceeded to share with me how much you wanted a white mp3 player for your birthday. I thought about taking it back to the store and surprising you with something else, but I decided to give it to you anyway. As time passed and we talked about it, you realized that you would rather wait for the surprise than find your gifts early.

You and I would have reminisced about previous birthdays and I’m sure we would have laughed once again about the mp3 player. I would have tried to get as many birthday wishes in as possible like I always did on your birthday when we were together.

You touched the world through your music with honesty and transparency. You shared a message of healing and sincerely desired to make a difference in the lives of others. I still receive messages from fans saying how your music helped them with anxiety and depression. I promise to continue your message of healing and use Live Free 999 as an avenue to normalize the conversation around mental health and substance dependency and help those who suffer in silence.

Happy 23rd Birthday Jarad, I love you dearly. I’m thankful for the time that we had and will forever cherish every moment that we shared.

Love,

Mom

NBA YoungBoy Addresses Report That He No-Showed J. Cole At The Studio

Several months ago, it was revealed by hip-hop media personality DJ Akademiks that rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again had an opportunity to work with J. Cole in the studio but he stood him up, allegedly making Cole wait for over eight hours before never showing up. During a recent conversation on Clubhouse for a few hours, Akademiks spoke to YoungBoy about a myriad of topics surrounding his music career, including the studio session where he was supposed to make a song with Cole.

Asking YoungBoy if he “fucks” with J. Cole, the rapper immediately got into the rumors that he no-showed Cole.

“They lied and said I stood J. Cole up, man,” said YoungBoy. “They lied and said I wouldn’t go to the studio with him. I know who told somebody that too, though. Because it was only a few people who knew about that and that wasn’t even the case. I was mad at that moment, I was going through something, so what the fuck I’m gonna go in this man’s studio session for a meet-up with him knowing that I ain’t in the mood to talk or in the mood to, you know, fuck around. [They were saying] YB acting like a bitch or something, but what the fuck I’m gonna go around this man for if I know I ain’t in the mood to talk to nobody or sit down and even be around somebody.”

It would have been a great opportunity for YoungBoy to work with one of the greatest rappers of the last decade, but he’s a human too, and he just wasn’t feeling it that day. That doesn’t mean the opportunity won’t present itself again in the future. Still, fans are saying that YB should have, at least, let Cole know he wasn’t planning on joining him.

Eminem’s Daughter, Hailie, Reveals Her Dad Was Her Top Artist On Spotify In 2021

Eminem’s daughter, Hailie Jade, shared her Spotify 2021 Wrapped on TikTok, Wednesday, revealing that her father was her most-listened-to artist over the last year. Hailie landed in the top 3% of Eminem’s biggest fans.

“‘Do you listen to your dad’s music?’ What??? Do I listen to my dad’s music? I think my dad’s gone crazy,” she captioned the video, referencing Eminem’s 2002 song “My Dad’s Gone Crazy,” on which Hailie is featured.

In the TikTok, Hailie lip syncs to Wendy Osefo discussing her Nicki Minaj fandom on The Wendy Williams Show.

Back in March 2020, Eminem spoke about his relationship with Hailie on Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin’ podcast and said that being a father is what he is most proud of in life.

“Hailie is 23,” he said at the time. “Not babies, nope. Just a boyfriend, and she’s doing good. She’s made me proud for sure. She graduated from college, 3.9. It’s definitely is crazy. I have a niece that I have helped raise too that’s pretty much like a daughter to me and she’s 26, and then I have a younger one that’s 17 now. So when I think about my accomplishments, that’s probably the thing I’m most proud of – being able to raise kids.”

He added, “It’s definitely important to keep your kids grounded when there’s situations like we have.”

Brittany Renner Reveals She Had To Move Back Into Her Mom’s Home After PJ Washington Split

Social media personality Brittany Renner says she’s having one of the worst years of her life after moving back in with her mother following her breakup with NBA star PJ Washington. Earlier this year, the couple welcomed their first child into the world and several weeks after the birth, PJ and Brittany broke up, prompting a ruckus on social media.

There have been all kinds of rumors flying around about Brittany Renner supposedly getting $200,000/month in child support, which she says is false, and much more. On Wednesday, Brittany opened up to her followers on Instagram and admitted that she was recently living with her mother and blew through a lot of money. She also gave relationship advice in the video.

“Can you imagine being 29 years old with a baby living back with your parent because you were kicked out of your house (I left willingly because I go where I’m celebrated not tolerated) with nowhere to go without a vehicle?” she asked on Instagram, sharing a video where she speaks about moving into a new place. “Can you imagine NOT being mentally/physically/emotionally ready to get back in the gym let alone host a club after just having a baby but you have to work to take care of your child? What about being harassed about receiving 200K in child support? (WHICH IS NOT TRUE IDK WHY ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD BELIEVE SUCH A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT BUT IT’S CLEAR THE REAL PANDEMIC IS HOW STUPID PEOPLE ARE) Still no? Well what about being accused of being a pedophile? A gold digger? Better yet! A spiteful BM keeping their son from his Dad when he wasn’t even in the same state at the time? All of this has been my reality on top of trying to get things afloat financially, getting back in the groove of social media after being falling off the face of the earth, and being a new mother.”

Renner says that she doesn’t know anyone that would be able to stay afloat in her situation, continuing to address her fans in the video.

“Moved into my new place today,” she said. “Y’all…when I tell you…I have been thuggin’. Been living with my mom and my sister — me, my mom, my sister, my baby — I mean because two and a half months [ago], I decided to leave. My baby was two and a half months old — I didn’t have anywhere to go. I didn’t even have a car, I still don’t have a car…this has really been the hardest time of my life.”

Eminem’s Daughter Hailie Mathers Listened To Eminem A Lot In 2021, As Her Spotify Wrapped Proves

There’s no need to explain that Eminem has a lot of fans, but in case you didn’t know, his daughter, Hailie Scott Mathers, also has a bunch of stans: She has over two million followers on Instagram and a few hundred thousand more on TikTok. Speaking of TikTok, she recently took to the platform to reveal a bit about her 2021 Spotify Wrapped, noting that her most-played artist of the year was actually her dad.

In the video, which has nearly 7 million views as of this post, Mathers lip-syncs to The Real Housewives Of Potomac‘s Wendy Osefo talking about being a Nicki Minaj fan, on the November 8 episode of The Wendy Williams Show. Meanwhile, text on screen reads, “‘Do you listen to your dad’s music?’ ‘What??? Do I listen to my dad’s music?’ ‘I think my dad’s gone crazy.’” The video then cuts to a recording of her Spotify Wrapped presentation, which says not only that Eminem was her top artist of the year, but that she was in the top three percent of his listeners on the streaming platform.

Indeed, Mathers and her dad appear to share a good relationship. In 2018, The Daily Mail asked Mathers if “if she sees her father often and he’s supportive” and she responded, “Of course, we are very close.” Meanwhile, on 2020, Eminem spoke about his daughter with Mike Tyson on his Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson podcast. The boxer asked if Mathers was thinking about having children and Eminem replied, “Not babies, nope. Just a boyfriend and she’s doing good. She’s made me proud for sure. She graduated from college, 3.9.”

Machine Gun Kelly Says He Stabbed Himself While Trying To Impress Megan Fox

Machine Gun Kelly revealed that he once accidentally stabbed himself while trying to impress Megan Fox, during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Wednesday. The 31-year-old explained that he was attempting to do a trick with a knife gifted to him by Travis Barker.

After being prompted by Fallon to reveal how he suffered a bruised coccyx before his recent appearance on Saturday Night Live, an injury that Pete Davidson had made public, Kelly detailed a crazy night he had when he first met Fox.

He revealed that he beat Post Malone in beer pong, slid down a banister with a spike at the bottom of it, and eventually stabbed himself.

“Travis [Barker] got me this… he got me a knife that had an engravement (sic) from the new album on it,” he said. “And I was like, ‘Ah, check this out. This is sick.’ And I threw it up, and it stuck in my hand.”

“You know how you throw it up, and you’re supposed to catch it? I looked at her [Fox], and I was like, ‘Check this out,’” he explained. “And then the next morning as soon as she left, I was like, ‘Yo, I need stitches real quick.’ I’ve got a bruised coccyx and a knife in my hand.”
