Papoose Closes Out “September” With His Latest Project

Papoose has plans to retire the microphone for good. The rapper stated at the top of the year that 2021 would be his final year actively delivering bars for the fans. Thankfully, he’s unveiling a ton of new music before he makes his formal farewell.

“To show my humble and sincere appreciation to all of my supporters and fans, I’ve decided to release a new project every month in 2021; with each project being titled after the current month. This is something I’ve never done before; but I’m excited,” he told Complex earlier this year.

September is the latest project from the Brooklyn MC. Laced with 8 songs in total, the project includes appearances from lyrical heavyweights such as Method Man, Cappadonna, and Lil Wayne.

Each project Pap’s dropped this year has gotten better and better. Press play on September below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Lil Wayne Joins Papoose & Timbaland On “Thought I Was Gonna Stop”

It’s been Weezy overload this weekend. The rapper just delivered his new joint effort with Rich The Kid that no one really expected. And while there are bars, Wayne does more to push Rich The Kid than vice versa. Thankfully, Papoose came to deliver. As the rapper’s unloaded new projects on a monthly basis, he just kicked off the month of October with his new project, September. The 8-song effort brings together Pap with some incredibly skilled MCs but one of the highlights has to be “Thought I Was Gonna Stop.” Timbaland holds down the production with futuristic samples while Papoose and Lil Wayne deliver bars-on-bars. The one issue with the song? It’s too short. However, it’s an excellent display of Pap and Wayne’s standard of delivery on wax.

Check the record out below.

Quotable Lyrics
We run it, been runnin’ this shit, I can’t feel my legs
Brudda got them birds ’til my n***as come and steal his eggs
I be on a million meds, I could put your doctor on
Dana White diamonds on, stones look like the Octagon

Kanye West’s Top 5 Weirdest Adidas Yeezy Silhouettes

Kanye West is considered to be a genius when it comes to the music world. He has delivered a plethora of classic albums that have changed the scope of music, and even in 2021, he has continued to find new ways to innovate. For years, Kanye has made it clear that he has bigger aspirations than just music, though. He has been a staple of the fashion industry since 2009, which is around the time he started getting involved with Nike. After leaving the Beaverton brand in 2015, Kanye quickly joined Adidas where he created his very own Yeezy imprint.

Starting with the Adidas Yeezy Boost 750, Kanye was already beginning to show signs that he wanted to go where no other sneaker designer had gone before. This philosophy was reiterated on the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 and later, the 350 V2. In 2017, Kanye broke ground once again, this time with the Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 “Wave Runner” which ushered in the dad shoe era that has yet to come to an end. At the time of the 700’s release, fans were starting to believe that Ye had lost his mind. Little did they know, they hadn’t seen anything yet.

Over the past couple of years, Kanye has come out with some truly head-scratching designs. On the surface, these shoes have no business being a success, as they are completely outside of the norm of what sneakerheads are used to. Despite this, Kanye’s name is what carries the most weight, and it has allowed each shoe to enjoy quite a bit of market popularity. A perfect example of this is the Adidas Yeezy Knit RNR which was released just last week. Despite being roasted on social media, the sneaker sold out immediately, leaving numerous Yeezy fans crying with their credit cards in their hands.

The shoe serves as a reminder that Ye could make anything, and people are going to enjoy it. So with that in mind, we have decided to take a look at some of Kanye’s weirdest shoes, whether they be prototypes or models that have already made it to the market.

5. Adidas Yeezy x Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose has been with Adidas since the start of his career, and as a fellow Chicago native, it only makes sense that he would eventually team up with the likes of Kanye West. During the Summer of 2020, there were rumblings of a fully-fledged collaboration between D Rose and Yeezy, although nothing has officially been announced or released. Despite this, Rose and Kanye have teased what appears to be one of the most bizarre Yeezys we have ever seen.

Considering this is Derrick Rose we’re talking about, you would think that the shoe in question would be made specifically for basketball. If you look at the Instagram post above, however, you will quickly realize that this sneaker would be awful on the court. The entire thing looks like it was made out of the Michelin Man as various ridges are found all throughout the white upper. The shoe is chunky and fluffy while taking up a considerable amount of surface area on your feet. In a way, these are like wearing Yachts on your feet, although they do look comfortable all things considered.

There is no telling whether or not these will ever come out, although if they do, there is no doubt that they will get a thorough roasting on social media before eventually selling out online.

4. Adidas Yeezy 450

The Adidas Yeezy 450 is a shoe that was shown off years ago and was given the name “451.” If you remember, the OG colorway was grey and blue, and the shoe was known for its shark-like midsole. In 2021, Kanye revealed to the world that the shoe would be called the Adidas Yeezy 450 and that it would finally be released on the market. Fans who have been following the sneaker game for a while now were excited about this prospect as this shoe was effectively the DONDA of the Yeezy brand.

While the hype was certainly there, it would be dishonest to say this is some sort of normal shoe. At the end of the day, it is simply a sock with a claw-like midsole that creates a truly one-of-a-kind aesthetic. When it was first shown off, everyone knew it was weird, and even today, fans have a hard time creating outfits with it. Regardless, this shoe is another example of just how much Kanye loves to innovate with his designs.

3. Adidas Yeezy “Coachella Scuba”

This sneaker remains one of the least talked about Yeezy prototypes of all-time, although that doesn’t take away from its weird nature. Dubbed the “Coachella Scuba,” this shoe first popped up back in 2019 when Kanye was touring the country with his Sunday Service troupe. The outfits worn by the group were always “unique,” to say the least, and the “Coachella Scuba” was a part of the aesthetic.

As you can see in the photos above, the shoe is ultra-thin and might as well be a sock. Just like the name suggests, these shoes look pretty water-resistant, although they are so thin that they don’t make sense in the context of an everyday outfit. They are pretty well impossible to style, and their utility always came across as wavering. It should be no surprise that these never made it to the market, although you can’t deny that Ye was swinging for the fences here.

Perhaps if Kanye decides to make a full-on scuba-diving subset of Yeezy, we will see these again.

2. Adidas Yeezy Knit RNR

As previously mentioned, the Adidas Yeezy Knit RNR has been getting a lot of attention as of late thanks to the fact that this is the latest Yeezy silhouette to be released on the market. Simply put, these look like a pair of wooden clogs that one would wear centuries ago. The knit upper saves the aesthetic in a way, but that doesn’t take away from the truly weird shape and loud initial colorway. Many fans have rightfully pointed out that these look like Mickey Mouse shoes, and other than that, there really isn’t much else to say.

Once again, however, this shoe proves that Ye can sell anything he wants if his name is attached to it, so kudos to him. At this point, he truly has no incentive to ever release anything wearable again.

1. Adidas Yeezy Foam Runner

When the Adidas Yeezy Foam Runner was first introduced to the world via Kim Kardashian, the sneaker world freaked out. On this website, the terms “befuddled” and “bewildered” were used quite frequently as it was impossible to describe the shoe. With its foam-like makeup and croc-like aesthetic, the shoe just didn’t seem very practical. Regardless, it caught everyone’s attention and it had fans looking to score some pairs, especially at the $80 price point.

Eventually, the shoe became a massive success, with Kanye going on Joe Rogan and telling the podcaster that this is his favorite Yeezy sneaker so far. Kanye has always wanted to make a shoe without laces, so in his mind, this is his magnum opus. The enthusiasm has certainly caught on, and while you can’t deny the belief Kanye has in his own products, you also have to acknowledge that these have no business being as popular as they are.

If New Balance made these, the company would be shut down tomorrow.

Let us know your pick for the weirdest Yeezy sneaker, in the comments below.

Lamar Odom Reveals His Latest Investment In Boxing

After fighting Aaron Carter a few months ago, there is no doubt that Lamar Odom is a fan of the celebrity boxing brand. Odom had an extremely successful basketball career and in retirement, he is looking for new ways to scratch that athletic itch. On Saturday night, he is going to fight against Ojani Noa, who just so happens to be the ex-husband of Jennifer Lopez. He was originally going to fight Riddick Bowe, although that was ultimately canceled due to a fear that Bowe couldn’t fight. The match against Noa should be an interesting one, and Odom’s fans are eager for it to go down.

As for the Celebrity Boxing enterprise, it would appear as though Odom is a lot more invested in it than one would think. While speaking to TMZ, Odom revealed he is now a part-owner in the brand and that he plans on doing a lot more fights in the near future.

“I’m a part-owner in Celebrity Boxing, so if I gotta keep fighting to keep building the brand, I don’t see no problem with that, being a businessman,” Odom said. Odom didn’t reveal how much money he put in, although we imagine it was a significant amount considering what kind of money these fights can pull in.

Moving forward, it remains to be seen who Odom will fight, although hopefully, he goes up against some big names soon. If you’re an NBA fan, you can’t help but hope he fights a former rival. Now that would be something special.

Lil Fizz Apologizes To Omarion On Stage For Dating Apryl Jones

There was friction within the members of B2K in the past few years. While the early 2000s boyband were attempting to make a triumphant return to the stage to bank off of nostalgia, Lil Fizz and Omarion had their own issues to sort through. Fizz began dating Apryl Jones, who shares a child with Omarion. As you could imagine, things got a little bit awkward.

The couple has since called it quits after making their relationship known to the world. And of course, this meant that Omarion really deserved an apology from his bandmate.

Following an incredibly successful run in 2019, The Millenium Tour made its post-pandemic return with Omarion serving as the tour’s co-headliner without B2K. The first show took place in Los Angeles last night where Omarion was joined by Fizz. The two made amends publicly with the latter making a public apology for any “turmoil or dysfunction” caused during his relationship with Jones.

“I don’t think it would be right if I didn’t take this moment, bro, to publicly apologize to you,” said Fizz to enormous applause from the crowd before owning up to his actions.”I did some fucked up shit to my brother and I’m not proud of it, man.”

“So I want to say here humbly and sincerely apologize to you for any type of dysfunction I caused between you and your family,” he said.

The two hugged it out on stage in front of the crowd, so it seems that all is good between the two now. Check the clip out below and sound off with your thoughts in the comment section.

Tyler, The Creator Will Be Recognized For Cultural Influence At 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards

Last night, some of the biggest names in the music industry made their way to Atlanta for the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards. The show won’t actually be broadcast until Tuesday, but we’ve already gotten a sneak peak at what some stars wore to the event, and who is going to be honoured this year.

According to The Source, 30-year-old Tyler, the Creator will be among those receiving a very special prize. The IGOR rapper has been chosen to receive the Rock The Bells Cultural Influence Award, which will be presented to him by LL Cool J.

“I am proud to honor Tyler, The Creator, with the first-ever Rock The Bells cultural influence award, which celebrates an artist who continues to break down the conventional boundaries of hip hop culture,” the “Mama Said Knock You Out” singer said in a statement.

The new award was created to recognize a “younger, innovative, otherworldly artist that has significantly impacted the culture — while uplifting their community.” Sounds like it’s something that the California native greatly deserves.

While we don’t know who all the other awards will be handed out to, we do know that Summer Walker caused something of a stir on social media after she was banned from attending the BET awards “because of COVID restrictions.”

The singer still made her way to Atlanta, where she broke the news from outside the building that her highly anticipated sophomore album is set to be released later this month.

What artists are you excited to see take the stage at the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards? Let us know below.

Carmelo Anthony Opens Up About Lakers Role

Carmelo Anthony was one of the biggest additions to the Los Angeles Lakers in the offseason, and fans are happy to have him on the roster. He has been friends with LeBron James since High School and NBA fans have been waiting for them to team up forever. Now, it is finally happening as LeBron looks to get Melo his very first title.

While playing for the Portland Trail Blazers last season, Melo was forced to come off the bench and at the time, there was debate as to whether or not he would accept that. In the end, Melo was perfectly fine with his role, and the same mindset is going to be applied to his time with the Lakers. As Melo told reporters, he is down for whatever.

“At this point, man, whatever we need to do, let’s do it,” Anthony said via ESPN. “It ain’t … ‘I can’t sit,’ and, ‘Oh, I want to start,’ ‘I want to come off the bench.’ Whatever it is, it is. I’ve had experience being a starter for 18, 17 years and had an experience of coming off the bench for one year. It’s not something I think about.”

The Lakers have a ton of depth this year and regardless of whether or not he comes off the bench, there is no doubt that Melo will have plenty of responsibilities. This is his best shot at a championship, and he is well aware of what it will take to get it done.

Mike Tyson Reveals If He Would Fight Jake Or Logan Paul

Mike Tyson is one of the greatest fighters of all time and when it comes to boxing, he knows what makes a great fight. Unlike some of the other boxers his age, Tyson is not a purist. He is a big fan of the Paul brothers, and he has no issue with what they are doing in the sport. Having said that, it should be no surprise that guys like Jake and Logan are considering a fight against Tyson, who isn’t as quick as he was in his prime.

During an episode of his podcast with Freddie Gibbs, Tyson spoke about the possibility of fighting against the Paul brothers and whether or not he would ever do it. Gibbs feels as though the Paul’s are annoying, although Tyson concedes that they would make for a great fight with a lot of money to be won.

“Well, that’s the money fight,” Tyson responded. “Those are the fights that make the money. Those guys have 75 million people watching them.” Tyson then said “Hell yeah. They would, that would be a lot of money,” when asked directly if he would ever fight against either brother. A Tyson Vs. Paul fight is unlikely in the immediate future, although there is no doubt that it would be quite the spectacle.

For now, Tyson is enjoying the retired life, although he does seem keen on getting back in the ring soon. It could be a while, but hopefully, his return is worth the wait.

Portion Rises Above The Losses On “Hella Clean”

Last week, we shared the latest edition of “5 Artists You Should Hear” featuring Toronto’s rising star Portion. Recently inking a deal with Warner Music Canada, the rapper’s been delivering heat in the past few months with singles like the triumphant “Wave” and the muddy trap-fluenced record, “99 Prblms.” This week, he followed up the former with his latest track, “HELLA CLEAN” where he details the struggles he faced and his determination to rise above it all.

“‘Hella Clean’ was recorded in Atlanta when I just signed my deal with Warner Music Canada and started officially working on, I Am Nothing Without,” Portion said of the single. “’Hella Clean’ represents my struggles and growth towards the next chapter in life. We’ve been at the bottom for so long that we’ve gotten used to the way of living; we think it’s normal to go through certain struggles. ‘Let that choppa sing like a money machine’ is about the gun violence we experience to then making our way up and established in the world.”

Quotable Lyrics
I done signed to the streets, gotta ride with that heat
How you act like you my blood? I cut my fingers countin’ up
And the only thing that make me sleep at night is pourin’ up
I got demons on my mind, and I can’t seem to get enough
All these people show me hate but at the end, they show me love
