Boosie Badazz Is Feeling “Blessed” As He Gives Intimate Look Into His Bedroom

He’s been doing his best to say on Instagram, but Boosie Badazz continues to be thwarted at every turn. When Facebook and Instagram went down for the bulk of yesterday (October 4), Boosie said it was retribution for how they have been treating him. Officials made it clear that the rapper had been banned from the platform, but he continues to return with the hopes of flying under the radar for as long as possible.

Aside from his social media drama, Boosie has also suffered a setback after he was reportedly booted from the Legendz of the Streetz Tour with the likes of Rick Ross, Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Trina, Lil Kim, and 2 Chainz. We previously reported on an altercation occurring during Boosie’s set and later, there were rumors that his entourage trashed one of the arenas. Then, news circulated that there was a shooting at his afterparty in Baltimore.

Seemingly unfazed by the ongoing drama, Boosie returned to Twitter with a few encouraging thoughts. “GM.. DONT LET YOUR STRUGGLE CAUSE U TO FOLD!! KEEP GOIN U CANT BE STOPPED #WORDSFROMBOOSIE,” he tweeted. Boosie also wanted to send a message of gratitude. “ITS SO MANY PEOPLE I DIDNT GET TO THANK FOR COMING TO MY MOVIE PREMIERE!! IF I FORGOT SORRY!!!! THANK U FOR SUPPORTIN #BOOSIE #BADAZZ MY STRUGGLE MOVIE OUT NOW!”

The rapper also gave a rotating view of his bedroom that included a massive bed, a seating area, a huge television screen, and all the amenities to make Boosie a happy man. Check it all out below.

Syleena Johnson Believes R. Kelly Needs To Be In Insane Asylum, Not Jail

The results of R. Kelly’s New York trial continue to be a hot topic of conversation. His supporters mirrored a The Boondocks episode when they gathered outside of the courthouse to play his music and protest against the sex crimes trial, and the singer’s detractors are hoping that the judge throws the book at him. Singer Syleena Johnson, who has worked with Kelly, notably on “Hypnotic” with Fabolous, offered an alternative sentencing that she believes is more in line with what Kelly needs.

“I don’t think he needs to be in jail, I think he needs to be in an insane asylum,” said Johnson.

“Don’t get it twisted, I think he needs to be in a straight jacket,” she continued. “I think some of the behavior that has been going down has been erratic and I think that a lot of Black men in jail have been misjudged. Like, a lot of them. I had a friend that went to jail, long time ago, he said his roommate was so damn crazy. He said that went on a lot in jail.”

“Because what they do, is they throw Black men in jail. They just throw everybody in jail. If you’re crazy…everybody go to jail. But this dude needs real help. He needs to be in an insane asylum. Real talk. Meds, drugs to the point where like, constant therapy.”

There are many people who agree with her while others have argued that Kelly is not “crazy.” Watch Syleena explain herself below.

Drake & Chris Brown Catch Copyright Infringement Lawsuit Over “No Guidance”

Another set of artists are being taken to court over one of their chart-topping collaborations. Fans were thrilled to see Drake and Chris Brown come together on “No Guidance” after years of rumors about alleged feuding over Rihanna. The song quickly became a fan favorite, the music video was streamed by the millions, and it was a summer staple when it was released back in 2019. Yet, these days, the track has earned Drizzy and Breezy a lawsuit.

Brandon Cooper and Timothy Valentine, known as Drum’n Skillz, have accused the uber-famous artists of hijacking their track, “I Love Your Dress.”

When listening to both songs, some have found it difficult to draw comparisons outside of them both using the “You (or She) got it” line throughout. However, Cooper and Valentine insist that Drake, Chris, and their teams stole their work. According to TMZ, “I Love Your Dress” was released three years ago, before “No Guidance.”

“Cooper and Valentine claim an analysis of the beat, lyrics, hook and rhythmic structure demonstrates that ‘No Guidance’ was copied or, at the very least, principally derived from ‘I Love Your Dress,'” wrote the outlet after stating that they received a copy of the lawsuit. On “No Guidance,” there is even a lyric that states “flew the coop,” and Cooper alleged that the line was included to taunt him.

While it is unclear how much they are seeking in damages, Cooper and Valentine’s copyright infringement suit is ongoing. TMZ attempted to speak with either Drake or Chris Brown’s representatives about the allegations, but the outlet reportedly did not receive a response. We’ve included both tracks below so you can compare and contrast for yourselves. Let us know how you think this lawsuit will end.

Kelis & Husband Mike Mora Receive Support After He Reveals Cancer Diagnosis

Prayers and well wishes are being sent to Kelis and her family after her husband, Mike Mora, revealed that he has been enduring a serious health battle. The couple was married back in 2014 and they have gone on to welcome two children together, making Kelis the mother of three. They live a relatively quiet life on a farm as the chef-musician and her photographer beau stay far away from the industry chaos, but the couple found themselves with the spotlight on them after Mora shared that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

In several posts he made to Instagram, Mora gave viewers an insight into what he has been dealing with in these last months. “This picture was taken as I was being transferred to the oncology section of UCLA Santa Monica from nearby Ronald Reagan hospital. This gentleman, Latin brotha, saw how weak I was. He looked back at me before leaving my room and said ‘I’ve seen people make it out of the craziest situations, be strong brotha, you got this’… They said 18 months. It’s been exactly 12.”

Kelis has yet to speak about this publicly, but Mora went on to share more in another post.

“Many hours thinking of what the right thing to do is. Not because of a selfish reason .not because I want people to feel bad or sorry for me and my family,” he said. “I am posting this because life is full of the most unexpected situations. I never thought this could happen to me. At just 36, with 3 kiddos, and a wife that loves me. I want to be able to help those that might be experiencing something like this- a life altering disease full of questions and doubt- maybe, hopefully.”

“By showing that it’s possible to make it through. You always see people post about how life is too short. How you should reach out to those you love no matter where life has taken you. It is the truth. Don’t take your time here, your time with friends, family, for granted. Sh*t can be over just like that!… Love you @kelis.”

Keep lifting up Mora and Kelis through this difficult time. Check out his posts below.

Hitmaka Thinks A Romance Between Him & Saweetie “Would Be Fire”

The Angie Martinez Show turned into a matchmaking moment after Hitmaka was asked about his dating life. The rapper-turned-producer has had his fair share of relationship moments play out for a global audience, most notably on Love & Hip Hop Hollywood all those years ago. These days, Hitmaka insists he’s a changed man, and while chatting with Angie, they got into why he has yet to settle down.

“Say anybody, right, Saweetie, anybody right now, woman that’s in the business,” he said. “If she just meets a guy that’s not on her level or something like that, she might be in her mind thinking like, ‘Well, maybe he wants me ’cause I’m successful, I’m in the limelight, blah blah blah.’ It’s hard to trust on both sides of the field.”

Angie stirred the pot and asked why Hitmaka hasn’t tried to shoot his shot with the “Best Friends” hitmaker.

That would be fire,” Hitmaka answered. Both he and Angie couldn’t help but laugh. The producer added, “Hey, Saweetie… Me and Saweetie could see eye-to-eye. I like that. That’s a good vibe. That’s a good one.”

After Angie mentioned that Saweetie would be making an appearance at Powerhouse, Hitmaka said he would be there as well. She mentioned that she would be sitting down with Saweetie for an interview and once she knows the time, she’ll alert Hitmaka so he can “slide through.” However, even if Saweetie isn’t feeling him romantically, Hitmaka is ready to at least lock in a hit record.

Majid Jordan Announce Their First Album In Nearly Four Years, ‘Wildest Dreams’

It’s been a while since experimental R&B duo Majid Jordan — that’s Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman — have released a full-length body of work. The Canadian duo’s last album, The Space Between, dropped October 27, 2017, climbing to No. 30 on their home country’s Billboard albums chart and No. 74 stateside. However, in all that time, they’ve never been forgotten or overlooked by fans, who have patiently awaited news of a follow-up.

They rewarded that patience today with the announcement of their upcoming third album, Wildest Dreams. Building on the momentum of singles “Been Through That,” “Waves Of Blue,” and “Summer Rain,” the duo is set to release their latest album on October 22 through Warner Records and, as always, Drake’s OVO Sound. In addition, they’re planning a short, celebratory tour to commemorate the project’s release, hitting four US cities including Brooklyn, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco ahead of a triumphant homecoming to Toronto to complete the run.

The singles that they’ve released so far promise a return to the New Wave-inflected, dance-pop-grooving R&B we’ve come to enjoy from them — and look forward to hearing again, very soon.

Wildest Dreams is due 10/22 via OVO and Warner Records.

Majid Jordan is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

EST Gee Threatens Revenge In His Borderline Blasphemous ‘Make It Even’ Video

Louisville rapper EST gets borderline blasphemous in the new video for “Make It Even” from his recently released mixtape Bigger Than Life Or Death, out now on Interscope Records. Actually, I guess it’s probably more sacrilegious, with its irreverent use of Christian iconography including crucifixes, altars, and confessionals as he threatens bloody revenge on his enemies.

The wicked concept constitutes something of a departure for the Collective Music Group rapper, whose videos are usually meditations on the spoils of rap and other, less legal activities. Generally, he’s surrounded by women, as he is in the “Price Tag” video, or money, like in the videos for “Riata Dada,” “5500 Degrees,” and “In Town.” Even when he’s making a guest appearance, as he does on G-Eazy’s “At Will” and 42 Dugg’s “Rose Gold,” it seems like his singular focus is money — which is why the imagery in “Make It Even” is even more jarring, whatever your spiritual affiliation.

Whatever visual cues he uses, it’s clear he’s having a stellar year, from featuring on fellow Louisville citizen Jack Harlow’s album to meeting with Jay-Z. EST Gee’s profile is rising, bit by bit, thanks to his consistency where it counts: His gritty, unapologetic lyrics.

Watch EST Gee’s “Make It Even” video above.

Bigger Than Life Or Death is out now via Collective Music Group and Interscope Records. You can stream it here.
