It is being reported that drug paraphernalia was found near Williams, which has caused many to suspect an accidental drug overdose. Fentanyl overdoses have become sadly common all over the nation. Some of the most high-profile victims are Mac Miller, Prince, Shock G, and most recently comedian Fuquan Johnson.

The industry as a whole has been mourning the loss of Williams. He obviously made a strong impact on the people he worked with and those around him. The actor came to prominence after starring as Omar in The Wire. He was later featured in several films and television shows, including Lovecraft Country, Boardwalk Empire, The Night Of, 12 Years a Slave, and Assassin’s Creed.

Reactions have poured in from across Hollywood. Williams’ The Wire castmates Isiah Whitlock Jr, Domenick Lombardoozi, and Tray Chaney all shared heartfelt messages.

Lombardozzi —Herc on the show— tweeted, “Michael K Williams I knew was kind. Fair. Gentle. And super fucking talented. I’ll cherish our talks and I’ll miss him tremendously. My deepest condolences to the Williams family. Rest my friend.”

“Shocked and saddened by the death of Michael K Williams,” Whitlock Jr. —senator Clay Davis on the show— tweeted, “One of the nicest brothers on the planet with the biggest heart. An amazing actor and soul. May you RIP. God bless.”

“A lot of people knew him as Omar, I knew him as Chalky,” tweeted Chance the Rapper, “I’m sure his family knew him as Michael. Thanks for all you gave to encourage, enlighten and entertain people you didn’t even know. Praying for your people.” Listed below are a handful of condolences and tributes to Williams.

Rico Nasty Drops 5 New Tracks On “Ricos Archive”

Rico Nasty is coming off of her recent appearance on NPR’s Tiny Desk series that seemingly put many on notice of her versatility. Of course, many of her day-one fans are aware of her different personas that tap into different sounds. She can easily jump into a screamo-fit over grungy, distorted guitars before delivering a bubblegum-pop hook with earworms for melodies.

Last night, Rico Nasty quietly slid through with some brand new music on her Soundcloud page. The rapper shared Ricos Archive which includes five previously unreleased songs.

Rico Nasty released Nightmare Vacation in 2020 and throughout the year, she’s come through with a few new tracks including “Magic.”

Hopefully, the release of her new EP is a sign that she has some new music for us this fall.

Jadakiss Explains How The Lox Got On Kanye West’s “DONDA”

Kanye West’s DONDA has already earned the hitmaker his ninth No. 1 album and extended participation in one of the year’s most-anticipated projects toward a formidable list of featured voices.

Among those found on Kanye West’s stacked list of collaborators on DONDA was The Lox, whose appearance was a timely stamp on the resurgence they’ve been riding since their Verzuz battle opposite Dipset.

Speaking with HipHopDX, Jadakiss opened up further about the circumstances that presented themselves to allow the feature to come together.

“Someone from Ye’s camp actually reached out to my older son,” he said. “Then Ye called us the next day after Verzuz, he hit me the next morning. We flew straight there and went straight to the studio and knocked the song out. Then went and rested and came back the next day and went to the event and flew back.”

All three men are featured on “Jesus Lord, Pt. 2” along with Jay Electronica and Larry Hoover Jr. The set was also in attendance at the second listening event for DONDA on August 6th in Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz stadium.

“It was ill,” Jadakiss said. “It was a different experience for us, but it was super dope.”

Gillie Da King’s Team Spirit Leads To Penalty For College Football Team

Gillie Da King’s going viral, and this time, it has nothing to do with Million Dollaz Worth Of Game. The rapper-turned-podcast host was on the field for Jackson State vs. Florida A&M where he was assisting coach Deion Sanders. Unfortunately, it seems that his excitement during the game got the best of him.

While Gillie stood next to Sanders during Sunday’s game, he ran down the sideline with Jackson State’s defender to the end zone. What was meant to be a touchdown turned into an unsportsmanlike penalty for Jackson State after the player handed Gillie who spiked it. The clip made the rounds across social media but what was even more humorous was Gillie’s reaction to the matter. “Dey gave me a unsportsmanlike penalty,” he wrote with a clip of the playback. “I didn’t know he was gone throw me the ball so I did the only thing I knew.”

Jackson State did go on to win the game but Gillie took to Instagram where he poked fun at Sanders. “This was @deionsanders face when his player threw me the ball and I spiked it,” he wrote alongside a photo of Deoin Sanders looking visibly upset.

Gillie’s assistant coaching duties have likely ended after his move on the field but it looks like Deion Sanders was gracious enough to offer him a role with the drill team. Check the post below.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge Leaves Donald Glover’s “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” Series

The forthcoming Mr. & Mrs. Smith series on Amazon is currently looking for a new star as actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge has walked away from the project, an adaptation of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s 2005 film of the same name.

Waller-Bridge was originally slated to play opposite Donald Glover, who is also the show’s co-creator and executive producer. Citing no bad blood between the pair, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Waller-Bridge departed because she shared a different creative vision than Glover.

Still attached to the series, however, are Glover and showrunner Francesca Sloane, also the show’s co-creator and executive producer. The show remains on track for its 2022 debut as Waller-Bridge’s role is currently being recast.

The series finds itself wrapped up in respective deals that Glover and Sloane have with Amazon. Both creators have signed overall deals with Amazon Studios that task them with creating and developing new exclusive shows for the company.

Elsewhere in Glover’s deal, he is developing a show entitled Hive which is centered around a Beyonce-like figure. Among those rumored to be writing on the series is Malia Obama.

Currently, Glover is in postproduction on the third season of Atlanta and production on the fourth season. Season 3 is slated to arrive within the first half of 2022.

Mark Hamill Seemingly Breaks The Internet With The Most Simple Tweet Ever

Over the weekend, Mark Hamill used his famous Jedi powers to send Twitter into yet another pop culture induced frenzy. Over the weekend, a follower of the Star Wars actor suggested that even a tweet as simple as his name would earn a massive reaction from followers.

“You could just tweet ‘Mark Hamill’ and you’d get thousands of likes,” the person wrote.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Hamill decided to test the theory out for himself. Just over 48 hours after he quoted with the reply “Mark Hamill,” the tweet has received not just thousands of likes, but hundreds of thousands. Nearly six hundred thousand, in fact.

Other celebrities like George Takei and Land Reddick saw what Hamill had done and tried to follow in his footsteps, also quote tweeting with the actor’s name. Although the reactions they received weren’t quite as big, they still each also earned thousands of likes, as the original poster had predicted.

When he’s not spending his time working the force on his Twitter feed, Hamill has been hard at work preparing for Netflix’s Master of the Universe: Revelation, in which he will play Skeletor.

Check out some of the other star’s reactions to Hamill’s success below.
