Pooh Shiesty Has Reportedly Been Arrested On A Charge Of Aggravated Battery

Gucci Mane’s label has suffered another blow after his artist Foogiano was sentenced to five years in prison for skipping bail last month. This time, it’s 21-year-old supernova Pooh Shiesty — aka Lontrell Williams — in the hot seat, according to The Miami Herald, which reports that Shiesty was arrested for aggravated battery in connection with a shooting at the Miami nightclub King Of Diamonds over Memorial Day weekend.

Complex‘s report on the arrest partially reconstructs the events in question, with social media video purportedly depicting the “Back In Blood” rapper at the club while the person apparently filming narrates. According to the clubgoer’s commentary, someone “took” Shiesty’s money, leading to a second clip in which the commenter loudly claims “Pooh Shiesty let off in a jacker’s b*tch ass” — meaning the rapper apparently shot at someone. The final clip does show someone who looks to be the rapper — although he’s wearing a ski mask, he was the focus of the prior videos — exiting the club holding something that certainly appears to be a handgun.

According to Miami Herald, the rapper did turn himself in on Tuesday. The Herald obtained an arrest warrant which said Shiesty shot a security guard in the leg.

Pooh Shiesty is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Cordae Secures First Hot 100 Song With Eminem’s “Killer Remix”

Cordae has solidified himself as one of the game’s emerging visionaries. Not only has he earned the trust of esteemed lyricists and legendary producers, but he’s also dedicated himself to strengthen his business acumen in the process. Case in point, the arrival of Hi-Level Productions, Cordae’s recently launched record label — learn more about that right here.

Ahead of the release of his upcoming album From A Bird’s Eye View, Cordae recently kept the blades sharp by hopping onboard a new remix to Eminem’s “Killer” alongside fellow young lyricist Jack Harlow. Now, the stacked track has led to a new milestone for Cordae, who has officially secured his first Hot 100 entry on the Billboard charts as a result.

As of now, “Killer Remix” has currently entered the Hot 100 at the 62nd spot, falling right below Polo G and Lil Wayne’s “Gang Gang” and ahead of Jason Aldean’s “Blame It On You.” While no video has been confirmed, it’s likely that a clip featuring all three parties would go a long way in driving up those numbers. Either way, it’s a solid look for Cordae, who previously saw success on the album chart when The Lost Boy climbed to #13 on the Billboard 200.

With the song currently holding over five million views on YouTube alone, it’s clear that Eminem can still make waves on the commercial end. It should be interesting to see how Cordae rides this momentum moving forward, as he’s been teasing that From A Bird’s Eye View will be his best work yet. Congratulations to Cordae for hitting yet another milestone — the first of many, to be sure.

Future & Gunna To Headline JMBLYA Festival Series

Rap and hip-hop music festivals have gained increasing traction over the years. Rolling Loud, Camp Flog Gnaw, and more are among the most esteemed concert series in music. With rap-friendly lineups of some of the hottest artists in the game, it’s no wonder they’ve only grown more popular.

After concerts were paused while the COVID-19 pandemic bolstered on, the Texas-founded JMBLYA hip-hop music festival is marking its return this year with six concert dates headlined by Future and Gunna

The 2021 concert series will begin Labor Day weekend with three shows in a row. After Rogers, Arkansas on Sept. 3, the festival will then travel to Dallas, TX on Sept. 4, then Austin, Texas on Sept. 5. Afterward, the festival will make its way to three new cities: Phoenix, Arizona on Sept. 25, Mountain View, California on Oct. 2, and Mansfield, Massachusetts on Oct. 9.

Joining Future and Gunna on the impressive lineup are The Kid LAROI, Lil Tecca, 42 Dugg, Flo Milli, Phora, and SoFaygo. Other special guests that will make appearances throughout the tour include Trae Tha Truth, SpotemGottem, Cico P, NorthSideBenji, and Metro Marrs.

“Our business has always been about providing something different. JMBLYA going nationwide is the culmination of the idea of bringing an affordably priced festival experience to markets that don’t have something like it,” said Sascha Stone Guttfreund, the President and Founder of ScoreMore Shows, in a statement.

He continued, “We are known for curated events that pair big-name acts with future superstars. If you look back on our lineups, you’ll see that many of the openers we book later go on to become headliners. Save that lineup tee. See y’all soon.”

Vin Diesel Remembers Paul Walker As He Anticipates “Fast and Furious 9” Release

With the Fast & The Furious 9 release mere weeks away, cast member Vin Diesel is reflecting on the missing piece from the franchise.

The crew took a hard hit when they lost fellow co-star Paul Walker to a fatal car accident in 2013. This is the group’s second film without Walker since the star’s final appearance in Fast & The Furious 7.

Vin Diesel, who plays family-oriented leader Dominic Territo in the films, shared the same sentiments as his character. Walker and Vin Diesel truly had a brotherly bond from working with each other for such a large time, often spending time together with their families.

On Sunday, the star shared a shot sent to him by Paul Walker’s 21-year-old daughter, who told him “how happy the photo makes her feel.” The actor took to Instagram to express the memories that this simple photo of the two friends brought back up.

Vin Diesel captioned the photo, “Weeks away from the F9 release… in preproduction for the finale that starts only months from now… @meadowwalker sends me this image and tells me how happy the photo makes her feel. Naturally, one gets filled with emotion, purpose and ultimately gratitude. Eternal brotherhood is a blessing beyond words. Hope to make you proud… All love, Always.”

Paul Walker’s legacy continues to be preserved in the F&F franchise through small details referencing his character set to appear in the upcoming film. Fast & The Furious 9 has done exceedingly well internationally and is expected to perform the same in the States upon release on June 25.

Fetty Wap Declares: “I’m Really The SoundCloud Goat”

While Fetty Wap has yet to release a follow-up to his 2015 self-titled debut studio album, his name still holds significant weight within rap culture. His debut single “Trap Queen” went on to become a sleeper hit for the Jersey native, peaking at No.2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song particularly found success on streaming services, eventually earning him two Grammy nominations for the smash hit.

While he certainly isn’t experiencing the same level of commercial success from his music these days, the 679 affiliate is taking time to remind the world of his glory days. He took to Instagram Monday (June 7) to declare his status as one of the SoundCloud OGs, citing the viral streaming success of his career standout “Trap Queen.”

The Rap platform recently proposed an official lineup of the SoundCloud Rapper Mount Rushmore including favorites like Lil Uzi Vert, Juice Wrld, Ski Mask the Slump God, and XXXTentacion. While a pretty sophisticated list, Fetty seemed to believe he deserved some level of recognition. “SoundCloud days was lit 2015 I think I kick this sh*t off fr,” he penned in the comment section, adding a crown emoji.

In a separate post, the rapper posed, “I’m really the SoundCloud Goat…y’all n*ggas trippn [laughing face emoji].” He continued, “Maybe y’all forgot…Trap Queen the reason n*ggas started a SoundCloud.” While some supported his claims, others pointed out that SoundCloud era rappers like Uzi and Carti were already on the music-sharing platform way before he came around.

Another user added, “Just because he came up off of SoundCloud doesn’t mean he started the trend. Rappers were getting discovered there way before him. He’s just egotistical and wants praise.”

Revisit “Trap Queen” above and let us know what you think about Fetty’s proclamation.

Washington State To Offer Free Weed For COVID Vaccinations

The decision on whether to get vaccinated or not has been tipping recently, with both a handful of regulations for those not vaccinated complimented by incentives for those getting vaccinated. Whether it’s a university requiring vaccinations in order to return to campus or states offering a handful of rewards for vaccination, American institutions are working hand-in-hand in an attempt to push vaccines out. Now, Washington State is the next to join the incentive program with their own unique spin on vaccine prizes– a free joint.

The state, which legalized recreational marijuana use in 2012, is rolling out the “Joints for Jabs” program which will provide a free joint of marijuana upon vaccination for the 55% of state residents who have yet to become vaccinated. The state already offers a free beer to those who get vaccinated, and the decision to include the cannabis industry comes at the request of local dispensaries– the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board stated that they had “received multiple requests from cannabis retail licensees to engage in promotions to support state vaccination efforts.”

Other states have employed other unique incentive programs. Maryland officials give $40,000 a day to one random resident who was vaccinated that day. Ohio instated a similar program where five recently vaccinated adults received a sum of $5 million.

The “Joint for Jabs” program is set to last until July 12th.
