Strick & 6LACK Make It Clear They Are Top-Tier Men On “COME ALIVE”

Strick continues to prove to people that he can consistently go toe to toe with the best in the industry. The North Carolina R&B singer has been able to score collaborations with names like James Blake, Young Thug, Skepta, Ty Dolla $ign and so much more. The YSL signee has been keeping fans waiting for about two years for another new album, and a new one might be on the way shortly. We say that because Strick is back to working with another R&B veteran 6LACK for a new single “COME ALIVE.”

This is his second single of the year, and it follows up “KISSES MAKE SURE” with his mentor, Thugger, and James Blake. It seems like this next album could be stacked with big features. As we mentioned, this is Strick and 6LACK’s newest song together and its now their second. They previously worked on “Desire” back in 2019 off of The Machine, Vol. 2.

Quotable Lyrics:

It never mattered, I’m puttin’ it on a platter
We got this running joke when I’m inside
And hittin’ on the regular, it gets fatter
I put you in some s*** you can’t pronounce, but you still wanna announce
Don’t switch sides with me, like half time you running routes
But I wanna take it there, baby, we should play it fair

1999 WRITE THE FUTURE & Jean Dawson Make Perfect Sense On “Fit Check Freestyle”

1999 WRITE THE FUTURE and Jean Dawson have been flying under a lot of people’s radars consistently. Both have been flourishing in the experimental side of hip-hop, as well as the alternative genre. Which is why their marriage here makes so much sense. For 1999’s latest single, they have decided to finally tap Jean Dawson for a collab called “fIT chECK fREEsTYle.”

The jack of all trades collective has been tearing it up with unique team-ups for the last several months now. It led to 1999 dropping their debut project hella. Rich Brian and the 88rising label have done some tremendous work getting this idea off the ground quickly and it led to some of our favorite songs of the year in 2023. As for Jean, he has continuously impressed, even this year, especially with his “New Age Crisis” single.

It seems that 1999 might be getting ready for a possible deluxe of hella, or just another project entirely. This is now their third single past the album, and they have worked with names like TiaCorine and Deb Never. “fIT chECK fREEsTYle” mixes a whole plethora of sounds and textures, from guitars, to drums, a trap instrumental, and everything in between. It is extremely progressive but it is not too much on the ears. It all flows seamlessly from one sound to the next.

Metro Boomin Seemingly Reacts To Drake’s Alleged Leaked Diss Track

After weeks of waiting for a response from Drake, eager fans finally had their wishes granted today, at least allegedly. A rumored leaked diss track by Drizzy called “Drop And Give Me 50” started to make its rounds online, though it’s yet to be confirmed whether or not it’s real. From the beginning, fans speculated that it was crafted using artificial intelligence. Either way, they’re carefully dissecting each and every one of the Toronto-born performer’s alleged bars.

On the track, Drake appears to take shots at several of the fellow artists who’ve shaded him recently. This, of course, includes Kendrick Lamar, Metro Boomin, Rick Ross, and more. He even seemingly addressed J. Cole’s now-deleted response track “7 Minute Drill,” and subsequent apology. Now, it appears as though Metro could have caught wind of the jab meant for him, and responded with a subtle but telling post on Twitter/X.

Metro Boomin Declares Himself, Future, And The Weeknd “The Biggest 3”

Future, Metro Boomin, & The Weeknd Star In “We Still Don’t Trust You” Music Video

Future and Metro Boomin shared a music video for the title track to their new album, We Still Don’t Trust You. The track is one of three songs to feature The Weeknd, who also appears in the video. The new video shows all three singing in a white room as well as a club as the camera highlights them with extreme closeups and other effects.

Fans had plenty of praise for the video on YouTube. The current top comment reads: “The Weeknd is really Metro’s secret weapon.” Another adds: “Future and Metro really out here saving hip hop. I don’t think people understand how crazy it was for them to drop two albums, causing major controversy and beef…all while dropping a variety of multiple banger tracks in a span of MERE WEEKS.”

It isn’t the only apparent Drake diss on the album either. ASAP Rocky also seemed to call him out on the track, “Show of Hands.” He raps: “N****s in they feelings over women, what, you hurt or something/ I smash before you birthed, son, Flacko hit it first, son/ Still don’ trust you, it’s always us, never them/ Heard you dropped your latest sh*t/ Funny how it just came and went.”

Today In Hip Hop History: Mobb Deep Dropped Their Debut Album ‘Juvenile Hell’ 31 Years Ago

tumblr oobsaarlXu1t1yehoo1 1280

Juvenile Hell was the first album by duo Mobb Deep that paved the path for many other East Coast rappers of their genre, which only a few know preceded their most revered LP, The Infamous.

Dubbed as one of the most acclaimed East Coast rap duos of all time, MCs Havoc and Prodigy came together to release their first album, Juvenile Hell on this day, April 13, 1993. Hailing from Queensbridge Housing projects in New York City, Mobb Deep was rather young when they released their first album, at the early age of 19.

At the time of its’ release, Juvenile Hell wasn’t received on groundbreaking levels. The new sound of the duo was too hardcore for some, very street-oriented, and the album provided one major single entitled “Hit it from the Back”; which peaked at 18 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart that same year. It wouldn’t be until later that Mobb Deep would become a Hip Hop classic and household name. In time they have gained longevity with their sound inspiring practically all other east coast rappers of their caliber. Had it not been for their first album, and their street poetry over tracks produced by the likes of DJ Premier and Large Professor, the map would never have been drawn for much of the major East Coast sound.

Drake Fires Back At Everyone On Leaked Diss Track, But It Might Be AI

Fans have been eagerly awaiting a response from Drake ever since Kendrick Lamar went after him on his collab with Future and Metro Boomin, “Like That.” Up until now, it’s been mostly radio silence from the Toronto-born performer. Now, however, a clip of what’s said to be a new Drizzy track called “Drop And Give Me 50” is making its rounds on social media. In the song, he seemingly takes shots at Kendrick, Metro Boomin, Rick Ross, and more. The only catch is that it could have been created using AI.

Almost immediately after the song appeared online, listeners began to speculate that it wasn’t crafted by the real Drake. This is unconfirmed at the time of writing, and the song has now been mostly wiped from Twitter/X. Whether it’s real or not, commenters are analyzing Drake’s alleged bars to the fullest extent.

Drake’s Diss Track Allegedly Leaks Online

“I get more love in the city that you’re from n***a / Metro shut yo h*e a*s up and make some drums, n***a,” he seemingly rhymes, calling Metro Boomin out by name. “Pip-squeak, pipe down/You ain’t in no Big Three, SZA got you wiped down/Travis got you wiped down/Savage got you wiped down/Like your label, boy you Interscope right now,” he also allegedly fires back at Kendrick. He even may have addressed J. Cole deleting his own response to Kendrick and apologizing. “And that f*cking song y’all got is not starting beef with us/This sh*t been brewing in a pot, now I’m heating up/I don’t care what Cole think, that Dot sh*t was weak as f*ck,” he seemingly spits.

Only time will tell if the track is real or not. For the time being, fans are begging Drake to address the rumored “leak.” What do you think of an alleged Drake response track surfacing online? Do you think it’s AI or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
